Hey! I have personal experience with the trucking dogs up to new york from the south. I live in lower Alabama and the organization that my mom helps takes in dogs that are abandoned/strays/and high risk dogs from shelters. They work on a monthly schedule where two weeks are off, two weeks of volunteers fostering the puppies/dogs, then a transport night where volunteers take the dogs to get checked, walked, then put into the truck to be taken to new york. ik this is outofplace but i wantedtoshare

(For everyone else: this is a reference to a question I asked about lots of shelter animals in NYS seeming to have the backstory: “rescued from a kill shelter in the south” and I wasn’t sure if that was a real thing or just some madeup sob story)

This prayer reminds me that that it is not only ok to take time out to pray and meditate, but that it is absolutely essential. It doesn’t have to be for an hour or even 10 minutes-but just 5 minutes of conscious contact with God makes a world of difference. God loves to hear from us and is longing for His people to take the time out to speak to Him. He ALWAYS hears us, even when the answer isn’t immediate we can rest assured that help is on the way.

If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, try going outside and looking at the sky for a lil' bit. It helps put things into perspective for me. Reminds me just how infinite the universe is. Looking at the sky puts me in a sense of pure awe and amazement. It helps put my mind at ease, even if just for a few moments. It helps me slow time down.
