CN games closing down
Just found out about this myself only this morning, but Cartoon Network Games have delisted all their games, incuding the Steven Universe duology, the SamJack game and the OK KO game. I'm really sad about this because I genuinely liked that last one and had fun playing it. Anyone who has a copy of a license can still play it, but people can't buy these game licenses anymore.
And yes, partly this probably has to do with Steam as a store platform in general - since they licences and not DRM-free copies, but still! CN used to be such a big name, it's very odd to see them shut down another game endevour. I'm reminded naturally, of the shut-down of Fusionfall in 2013.
Really makes you think about how fragile the games industry is, but CN was shut down as a studio last year as well, so maybe I should have seen this coming. The games were last purchasable on December 23rd (I was browsing a friend's wishlist myself). Maybe the notification got lost somewhere, but I'm reading on reddit that even on 23rd, it was already delisted.
You can only get the DLC on their Steam store page now.

🦇💀🕷🕸 What the Lupin Gang would do/wear for Halloween! 🕸🕷🍬🍭
This may be OOC, but it’s Halloween, and nobody is themselves on Halloween. That’s the whole point. It’s time to let loose babey
🎃 Lupin:
Lupin would wear something suave yet spooky. (A vampire is a tried-and-true option.) Whatever it is, it has to leave some of his face showing- how else is he supposed to woo the ladies at the party? Other costume choices include a pirate captain, Jack Skellington, and a joint costume with Fujiko as Victor and Emily from Corpse Bride.
Lupin has ABSOLUTELY dressed up as Dr. Frank N Furter from Rocky Horror Picture show. Definitely more than once.
Lupin would definitely get WAAAAAAY into Halloween. Like, the first of October, BAM. Orange jacket with a black shirt and an orange tie. He makes all of his October heists Halloween-themed, but he doesn’t steal on Halloween because that’s when he goes ALL. OUT.
Each year he picks a different city to celebrate in. He spaces out wherever he goes so he doesn’t get caught, but rumors about Lupin spread, so each year people make a guessing game of where he’s gonna go for Halloween. Each year, he picks a hideout in the most popular trick-or-treating area of that city and decks it OUT with Halloween decorations. A large chunk of the decor expenses was probably taken from the Halloween Jacket heists from that year.
Lupin never sends invitations for it though- this is the one time he won’t do it. He insists that it adds to the “illusion of mystique.” He leaves it up to the trick-or-treaters to spread the word. News quickly gets around that the cool house down the street might be Lupin, and without fail, it turns into a block party within the first 2 hours or less.
On Halloween, he gives out candy to literally everyone. He spoils the little kids with king-size candy bars. He encourages the teens to go egg/TP houses of rude people in the area (he staked them out in advance specifically to do this.) He hypes up the costumed adults and hands out Halloween-themed drinks.
The day after Halloween, the hideout looks deserted, like nobody was ever there. Nobody can ever figure out how he packs it all up so quickly, without anyone noticing. The only thing he leaves, every single time, is a jack-o-lantern with his face on it.
🎃 Jigen:
Something classic and/or low-effort. First thing that comes to mind is a werewolf.
Lupin might bug him about stealing his trademark, but Jigen fits the image better. He’s gruff and hairy and may perhaps shoot you if you make fun of his costume.
Jigen might also go for a classic Dracula if Lupin isn’t a vampire that year. He’s also been a cowboy several times.
He doesn’t really interact with the crowd unless they come up to him first (which is rare because he doesn’t exactly exude “friendly,” and it’s usually a little kid, because they don’t really notice.)
If it’s a little kid though, Jigen’s always nice to them. Especially little boys who like his cowboy costume. (He wears that one the most as an excuse to carry his magnum around without people getting suspicious.) He’ll put on the southern drawl and everything. He doesn’t want to break the illusion for a kid, especially not on Halloween.
One time a little boy called him Woody, Lupin overheard, and teased him about it the whole night because he thought it would bug Jigen. Jigen secretly thought it was the funniest/sweetest thing ever, and snuck the kid extra candy in his bucket before he left with his mom.
Jigen won’t take any crap from teenage trick-or-treaters who are rude. You know, the ones who take too much from the bucket so there’s none left for the little kids. He’ll turn them away at the door. It’s never come down to him having to pull out the Magnum, because his glare alone is enough to scare the crap out of them so they’ll leave. Same goes for tipsy adults who’ve had one too many Halloween-themed drinks and get too rowdy.
One year Lupin made a joke about how Jigen should give some candy cigarettes out to kids for Halloween, and Jigen shut it down FAST. He doesn’t want to encourage kids to start his bad habit, so he doesn’t smoke around other people at the party, and makes extra sure that kids aren’t around when he does.
One year, Jigen gave out out tiny water pistols with the candy. Lupin got some for him to hand out because they reminded him of Jigen at the store, and even though Jigen brushed it off at the time, he appreciated it.
🎃 Goemon:
Goemon secretly loves Halloween, but will literally die before admitting it to anyone. It took him a while to warm up to it, though.
He still sticks to tradition- his costumes all have something to do with Japan. Kabuki Ishikawa Goemon is a classic that he returns to often. He’s dressed up as various oni/yōkai/yūrei before, and several figures from Japanese folklore.
Goemon has also been a samurai for Halloween, even though it’s just his regular clothes. It’s for the kids, really- he secretly enjoys the attention.
He will make jack-o-lanterns with Zantetsuken, but only for little kids that he thinks are especially polite. Lupin whines every time because Goemon won’t make him one too.
He always insists on getting Japanese candies for the candy bowl, like Pocky and the various flavored Kit Kats they have in Japan. At first he insisted on more traditional treats, then he realized they might not keep well and opted for these. Plus, it’s for the kids.
He does keep things like konpeitō and wagashi for himself to snack on throughout the night. He’ll share, but the same rule applies as the jack-o-lanterns- only for the super polite kids.
One time Lupin made a bet with Goemon, and if he lost, he had to be a geisha for Halloween.
He lost.
He doesn’t like to talk about it.
Everyone else does, every single year, without fail.
Goemon has also become the de facto Guardian of the Punch Bowls. Lupin keeps them out for both the trick-or-treaters and the partygoers. One bowl for the kids, and an alcoholic one for the adults. The adult punch is clearly labeled. Now, you should never drink the punch at a party because you don’t know what’s in it, but Lupin is the exception in this regard. No funny business is happening with that punch bowl. And Goemon will make damn sure of that.
Nobody ever assigned him the position of Punch Bowl Guardian, he just picked it up himself. Before Halloween one year, Lupin was (rightfully) worried at first that someone would try to put something dangerous in it, and was about to opt out of having a communal punch bowl. Then, Goemon spoke up that he had it covered, and thus, he was made the Punch Bowl Guardian.
Nobody has ever tried to spike it with anything, and nobody ever will. Lupin gets to mingle instead of guarding the bowl, and Goemon gets to relax away from the crowd. Everybody wins.
🎃 Fujiko:
If you don’t think Fujiko hasn’t been a Playboy bunny at least once, you’re lying to yourself. She has also been a mouse, à la Mean Girls, and basically a sexy version of anything you can think of. Except for a cop. She wouldn’t stoop that low.
Occasionally, it wasn’t originally supposed to be a sexy version of the outfit/character. Lupin sometimes replaces the original with a raunchier outfit the night before, and waits to see if she notices.
She always does.
Sometimes she likes that version better and sticks with it, and if Lupin ever asks about it on Halloween, she denies it all. If she doesn’t like it, she knows that Lupin kept the original and will put it back before she wakes up on Halloween. They’ve been playing this game for years, and there’s never any malice behind it. It’s just their customary brand of Halloween trickery.
One time she planned to dress up as Lupin, purely to see if he’d replace his outfit with a risqué version the night before.
Of course he did, why would you expect anything less???
She laughed so hard at it that she tripped and fell, and he rushed in to see if she was okay and also to see if she was wearing it because he wanted a peek
She then made HIM wear it on Halloween, while she wore his regular clothes. He was cool with it, had a blast, got blasted on too many cups of adult punch, and then got a little too into the outfit, so Jigen had to bribe him to take it off at the end of night.
Her favorite costume that wasn’t ‘edited’ by Lupin is from the year she dressed up as Pops. She swiped it from his disguise collection, and hid it where he wouldn’t find it before he could notice it was gone. Her decoy costume was a bumblebee. She’s just as good at disguises as Lupin is, so when she showed up as Zenigata, Lupin nearly shit a brick.
Goemon will never let him forget it.
🎃 Zenigata:
Zenigata probably dresses up as an old-school detective or Sherlock Holmes, which isn’t really too different from his normal attire, but it makes him happy regardless.
He will not arrest Lupin on Halloween.
Zenigata knows about the parties, but turns a blind eye to them at this point, because it’s a fruitless endeavor trying to catch a master of disguise on Halloween. He has tried in the past, but only once. When Zenigata first discovered that Lupin threw these parties, he found out where Lupin was on Halloween and came to arrest him.
He walked up to the hideout and saw Lupin handing out candy to a pair of kids. He couldn’t go through with it, because wouldn’t you know it, their costumes were tiny versions of him and Lupin.
He immediately did a 180 and started to leave, since Lupin wasn’t technically breaking the law at the time, and he’s a sucker for kids. (He got a little misty-eyed at the sight of a tiny little girl drowning in a trenchcoat that looked just like his, with a pair of cheap plastic handcuffs in the pocket. He’d hate to show it in front of Lupin though.)
Lupin, of course, knew Zenigata was coming before he even arrived, grabbed his shoulder, and stopped him from walking away. The girls were too young to see past Lupin’s costume and had no idea that it was him, and they had assumed that Zenigata was also in costume. Zenigata told them it was really him, and, of course, they are THRILLED.
They ask him about his adventures with Lupin, and he tells them the G-rated versions of the stories. Lupin joins in, after leaving for a ‘bathroom break’ and coming back as himself. The two spend the night answering their questions, telling stories, and doing party tricks. Zenigata shows how quickly he can handcuff Lupin while blindfolded, and Lupin shows how he can dislocate his joints to get out/pick the lock.
When the girls’ parents show up, they see their kids sitting next to these two adults in the same ‘costumes.’ They seem to be good people, so the parents compliment their costumes and go home with their kids. The girls insist that the two men were the real Lupin and Pops, but the parents brush it off.
Every year since, Lupin leaves another jack-o-lantern with his face on it besides the one he leaves at the hideout once he’s gone. No matter where the party is, or how far it is from where Zenigata is staying, Pops always gets one too. Usually with a piece of candy next to it, and a calling card for his next, non-Halloween-themed heist.

Give me your top 10 favorite animated shows of all time (if you want to include anime in this that's fine but I prefer if it's mainly western animation)
I’m just winging this, because I could analyze this for days, BUT...
10) Steven Universe
This was one of the two modern cartoons that inspired me to take art, illustration, and animation seriously. The fan-base was so strong and so positive, with so many talented people coming out of it and making a name for themselves. The show gave so many amazing character and set designs, and the mystery element was so much fun following along. Here’s the deal, tho... I put it as #10, because at this point in the series, it’s really started to lose all its steam and is getting really lame. Hopefully it can conclude on a strong note!
9) Kim Possible
Wow, so nowadays most people know this show as one of the hotspot inspirations for porn, HOWEVER, I will never forget the childhood nights when I’d lay on my shitty, torn-up rug and watch Kim and Ron kick the shit outta multi-colored enemies on a weekly bases! Kim Possible is one of the many shows from the 2000s that worked in minimalism, along with stuff like American Dragon and Samurai Jack (I’ll get to that later...). Kim Possible knew how to write interesting characters and use them to their advantage. No action show is complete without a strong cast of characters to root for, and Kim Possible had a laundry list of great characters! A now most of those characters are... fucking in our dreams... hmm.
8) Whacky Game Jokes 4 Kidz
You never said it couldn’t be a web-show! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! clears-throat So listen to me... I used to be big into the game reviewing scene. It’s where a lot of people know me from. As I’ve gotten away from it, though, I’m realizing how dumb a lot of the humor about video games really is and this show is ALL of that! It’s my favorite dry humor done by the only man that can do so sharply delivered dry humor, hotdiggedydemon. Not only that, it showed me you can do an on-going story and make it work! I’m just sad this only got one season and than the creator gave up on it. I’m sure if he pushed the series out, it would have sucked, but... I dare to dream.
7) Gravity Falls
It could do serious! It could do comedy! It could do sincerity! It could do mystery! Gravity Falls was created by professional story-tellers that knew their beginning, middle, and end, and went with it all the way through! This was the first cartoon that got me back into cartoons, and its themes, art-direction, and stories all speak so close to my soul! Living in the Pacific North-west, the woods are my favorite setting, and if you know about my web-comic Emerald Eyes, you probably already figured that. This show inspired a lot of the art-direction for Emerald Eyes and my only hope is I can come close to touching someone on a personal level like Gravity Falls did to me!
6) Ed Edd n Eddy
I will never forget! I WILL NEVER FORGET!!! This was the biggest assembly of talented people and what I consider the send off to traditional, hand-drawn animation (it was the last one on Cartoon Network). It shows too! Ed Edd n Eddy was the modern Bugs Bunny. It’s just three strong characters doing simple stuff, but the animation, art-direction, scene-direction--WHATEVER-- made it amazing to watch! These three boys wanted one thing and they somehow kept it interesting for 5 season and a movie! HOW ARE YOU SO TALENTED!? FUCK!
5) Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
“Hey Haydn? Do you like minimalism or something?” I JUST SUCK AT DRAWING AND MINIMALISM HIDES IT SO WELL!!!!! I’ll occasionally go back and watch old shows I grew up with and get sad when I realize they were not as clever as I remember them being. Fosters was not that at all! Fosters is a super smart and wonderfully well executed take on a really strong concept for a show. “Imaginary friends!? I HAD AN IMAGINARY FRIEND! HIS NAME WAS MICHAEL AND HE SAT ON MY HEAD AND PLAYED CHESS ON THE SCHOOL’S ROOF!!!” It’s also once again an example of characters driving the narrative, with another laundry list of creative and honest characters you can get attached to. Craig McCracken constantly surprises me by making so many well written shows. I haven’t watched enough of Wander Over Yander, but revisiting how great this show as, I really should give it another try.
4) Samurai Jack
Watch the first episode... that’s all you need is the first episode. Samurai Jack was fast, slow, funny, serious, calm, harsh, and the lead characters BARELY FUCKING SPOKE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Genndy Tartokovski’s use of quiet scenes made the moments with Jack somehow even more personal. His fights were yours and his lack of speech made whatever he was thinking about be up to your own interpretation. Going back to minimalism, the art-style was flat, but the fights were dynamic. They took a character who’s primary colors were black and white, and made every movement striking. Samurai Jack should be remembered forever, like a hero with no name.
3) Over the Garden Wall
“If dreams can’t come true, then why not pretend?” Simple characters, detailed backgrounds. One’s looking for a name for their frog. One’s looking for their family. One’s running from everything. Over the Garden Wall is slow, somber, and sad. It has great music to drive its narrative and mellow visuals to constantly set its tone. The mystery is the best part and I can’t talk much about it, because it’s way more fun to just roll along with it. Cartoon Network did another experiment and it worked out great!
2) Avatar: The Last Airbender
Nononononono! This isn’t anime! This was made in the America! It was made by white people! I swear! DON’T HIT ME!!! Avatar was so complete! I don’t think I know a single ongoing Western animation that feels more complete. It ran for the perfect amount of seasons (5 seasons) and ended on a note that fit the shows theme and characters. Every character was developed wonderfully and got their arc. They got their conclusion! The fights were insanely well choreographed and I’m surprised they could afford this fuckin’ show without going into minimalist art-style like other shows. This is as close to anime as you can get, but don’t worry... it’s not anime.
(Honorable Mention) Teen Titans!
See this is an example of an action show having to be minimal! But it was done so well! Teen Titans took a comic book property and made it anime, BUT IT AIN’T ANIME! And it could do funny, wacky stories as well as serious or even profound episodes. I constantly remember the episode where Robin’s obsession with Slade drove him to see visions of him and even turned him against his friends. I don’t give a shit about comic-books, I’m sorry. They push their stories too long and I stop caring after the 300th issue of I don’t give a shit. But Teen Titans kept its balance. Each episode had a meaning and pushed its characters towards a strong conclusion. Watch Teen Titans if you want an example of a mix of comedy and serious. It was one of the best...
1) Cowboy Bebop
I tricked you! Anime was NUMBER 1 BABY!!!! Backgrounds! Music! Characters! Fight Direction! It was only 1 Season so it didn’t wear out its welcome! Space ships! Noir! Style! Substance! Themes! Color Theory! Character Design! Costumes! Dogs! Goggles! Anime! AAAAAH!!! Cowboy Bebop is a show I can watch over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and still find stuff I like about it. I hope to make some kind of episodic story (Emerald Eyes is more like a succession of movies), and Cowboy Bebop is my favorite example to go back to when it comes to well written stories and art-direction. Each character is striking! The environments are dense! You can tell the crew were all super on board with this show and knew exactly how to make it work. Too many shows, I notice, do their shows episode by episode (with Steven Universe being a big offender of that right now...), but Cowboy Bebop planned it out. Each episode blends into the next, and even when it’s not right away, every decision or crucial choice will have an impact in future episodes all the way up to the sad conclusion. It’s not sad because some dies or something simple like that. It’s sad because it’s over. And you don’t wanna say it, but... “You’re Gonna Carry that Weight.” Wait, that’s the wrong line, isn’t it...?

Movelist Evolution History
With Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2's Second Location Test coming up around the 11th, I thought I'd give you guys a little History Lesson to ponder.
I won't be talking about characters that aren't in Xrd Rev2's roster, so that should simplify things.
[AXL] ---Considering the changes made to Sparrowhawk Stance in Rev2, I can see why they didn't want Axl to feel like a traditional Murakumo Unit in BlazBlue, originally, Axl's attacks as of his revision in GGX were all single hits, with no vacuum whatsoever and very few moves were meant to juggle opponents but just annoy them from a distance. ---Axl once had a move called "Angry Thrust" (Dototsu) that let him rush opponents like a Dust Attack, but it was a low rushing maneuver so it easily low-profiled a lot of attacks. [BEDMAN] ---Even if Bedman's lost his 6H, he still has his tiger-knee Task A' to keep opponents busy on wakeup... never underestimate the Bed! ---His new multi-hit 6H is reminiscent of Charlotte Colde's Multi-hit thrust move from Samurai Showdown! This sometimes caused huge damage, especially in the corner... something to think about. [CHIPP] ---You wouldn't know it by his Xrd animation, but his Banki Messai (Thousand Ogre Destruction) Overdrive was originally his 6P attack done over and over and over... pretty silly right? ---Alpha Blade (his forward dash move) originally was its own projectile on startup that hit TWICE! An aura of Ki would surround Chipp's body just as he began to dash forwards... this nullified a lot of projectile spam back in the day, but was most commonly used as an OTG relauncher for combo loops! [ELPHELT] ---Just be lucky she doesn't have Chris Redfield's arsenal of weaponry in UMvC3... his mines were a pain to deal with... plus the low-profile shot to boot. ---Don't forget about Cable's Viper Beam from MvC2... yikes. [FAUST] ---His Instant Kill was originally his Overdrive "Mad Operation" and was ACTUALLY a Command Throw of all things! ---His "Giant Mini Faust" in Rev2 is reminiscent of the giant monster doll mini-boss found in Guilty Gear Judgment's Survival Mode... it also has armor hits like the rare Mini Potemkin drop he originally had. Something to look forward to. [I-NO] ---You wouldn't notice at first glance, but I-No still retains her old EX Mode's ground dash animation whenever she does grounded Dust combos, if you play as her in M.O.M. and equip the Cat Marked Pumps, she can use her ground dash as much as you want! Combined with "Emergency Escape" and the "Teleport" item and she'd have a ridiculously high jump with tons of safe aerial options. [KY] ---Ky's new 6H animation is reminiscent of his original Zwei Voltage Instant Kill. If you haven't seen it, you owe yourself the experience, it's quite pretty, even by today's standards. ---Originally, Ky's "Instant Kill" was a startup poke maneuver based on his Standing K, however regardless of whether or not it hit Mid or Low, Instant Kill Red Screens were considered nigh-inescapable unblockables and could be activated endlessly. The "Red Screen" that Instant Kill startups are known for later made it's way in to GGXrd in the form of DANGER TIME. ---Much like Sol, Ky's current 6H in Revelator was originally his "standing" 5H, it was also 3H in Accent Core... it was a great meaty, so who knows if they'll keep it or not. Ky's new 3H is a great tool too, and actually makes far Slash pokes useful. [LEO] ---Worth noting that Leo's 5H has a backwards hitbox which is a useful counter against crossup attempts (like Bedman's dash behind parry). ---In the future, Leo may get more sword-block moves like 5S,P... maybe even one to counter low normal attempts. [MAY] ---Back in GG1, May almost exclusively relied on her Aqua Rolling maneuver, since it could easily be spammed on the ground or in the air. It was so annoying she didn't even have to bother charging it. Now she has to use her Dolphins more strategically. ---Her current Instant Kill in Revelator is actually based on her original IK "bye-bye", as she used a Dolphin to catapult her opponent to the stars. So long, and thanks for all the Fish! [MILLIA] ---The "pin" (Silent Force) that everyone fears whenever Millia Jumps isn't really a Pin. It's a dagger in her hair. Also it wasn't originally a dagger... it was a Lance. It was actually an extension of her "Living Lancer" maneuver which she could manually control (the manual inputs were called "Hungry Bee". This was later replaced by the Bubble commands she currently has in Secret Garden. ---Her Tandem Top "disc" was originally called "Condemned Top" and had universal Wall-bounce properties and a knockback on startup, so it was actually safe to use as a stand-alone... almost like a DP reversal. ---Her "Lance" followup to her roll mixups is actually her "Forcebreak" followup to Lust Shaker, called "Longinus". ---Worth noting that Millia's Lust Shaker retains its 3rd animation change from Accent Core. Originally it leaned forwards and had a huge hitbox in GGX, and in GG1, it actually had a surprising juggle-factor that could keep enemies in the air for a long time in the corner. In fact, if you follow up a Ground Dust attack in to Lust Shaker, she can still do this a little bit. [POTEMKIN] ---Pote originally had a rushing command throw in Nitro Hook. He'd dash forwards and grab his opponent and smack them backwards causing a wall bounce. He may need it again if they plan on nerfing his Hammerfall with the new Blitzshield Cancels. ---His 6H was originally his STANDING 5H... which is ridiculous to think about. ---Slide Head was originally called "Graviton" and was fully chargeable, generating huge exploding shockwaves, not unlike Dizzy's Imperial Ray. ---His EX Mode had a stance called "Unbreakable Spirit" which gave him super armor in exchange for having total control to respond to an opponent's attacks. He could respond with Nitro Hook, Judge Gauntlet, Pote Buster, Heat Knuckle... and he could Overdrive Cancel in to Heavenly Pote Buster to boot! Talk about psychic reads... [RAMLETHAL] ---"Final" boss Valentine in GG2 had giant chainsaw elbow swords... her combos had a wide multi-hit reach too. ---Final Valentine also had a move where she planted her fingers in the ground and a volley of missiles would spring up in front of her (similar to Robo-Ky's Rocket Knee). [SIN] ---Hawk Baker wasn't originally a DP as far as I know... it was a trap catch counter (similar to Axl's Heaven can Wait). It might be possible for Sin to get a move that lets him parry attacks with his Flagpole. [SLAYER] ---Slayer's "dash-around" Dandy step from Accent Core got replaced in Xrd with a "wider" dash step, but even that is still Jump Cancel-able... and it'd be overkill if he could followup with Pile Bunker instantly from a dash like that anyway. ---Rev2 first Loketest gave his Bloodsucking Universe command bite some counter-hit properties... as if the bite loop wasn't scary enough... [SOL] ---Sol's 6P animation as we know it only existed since GGX. Originally, it was called a "Gamble Attack". This was because Sol would have to step forwards to attack and take a risk (he would step forward and thrust his elbow downwards originally). It was for this reason almost all character's 6P animations were changed to having Upper-body invincibility as universal Anti-Airs essentially, or in their Dead-Angle forms having full-invincibility despite having the same 6P animation. ---Speaking of Normal changes... Sol's 6H as we currently know it was originally his "standing" Heavy Slash. If his standing H had that kind of reach originally, who knows how he would have evolved if they hadn't changed it! ---Sol also had a "Mini Riot Stomp" dash move (66K), it was safe on block for him so it gave him nigh unlimited pressure options. It was renamed "Breaker Dash" and was added to EX Order-Sol's movelist in the Accent Core games, but was given a dashing headbutt maneuver instead and could also come out as a dashing jump Kick, though I'm unsure if that was an overhead or not. It'd be pretty crazy if Sol kept this. [VENOM] ---Realistically, it's debatable how Venom should deal with Q-five (QV) as an input. Originally, Ball Formation inputs were Half-circle inputs in GGX, and his move Dubious Curve was the equivalent of what is now Q-five but it was a reverse-DP input instead (421+button). Venom players should consider what is most comfortable to them for charging inputs, as with this new "backspin feature" to Carcass Raid and Stinger Aim in Rev2... it may come in to play later. ---If Venom ever combined his EX Overdrive Tactic Arch with Bishop Runout, he'd have an instant maxed out Bishop and be crazy hard to deal with! Just saying. ---Depending on how the 2nd loketest goes, Venom's new 2H crouching Heavy may actually be useful for Carcass Raid charging. [ZATO/EDDIE] ---Nowadays, nearly everyone has a projectile, so you'd think Drunkard Shade would be more powerful. Originally, Zato could capture projectiles in his Drunkard Shade and "store them for later" when he needed them. Something to think about for Zato's new zoning strategy. ---Shadow Gallery (his rising shark move) used to be called "Rise and Fall" and actually hit like Sol's Bandit Bringer if you can believe it! Imagine if it was a telegraphed Overhead with YRC and ground bounce! ---R.I.P. Dark Sentinel... such an awesome move will be forever missed.... unless they bring it back that is! [DIZZY] ---Dizzy hasn't changed all that much from her GGX days if you can believe it... the only real improvement is her battle stance. Originally it was at a "half view perspective", but this didn't match the perspective of other characters in battle, so in Xrd she got a 3/4th's view battle stance like everyone else! ---It's too bad they did away with Necro's Anger and Necro Install... she would've been super scary if they brought those back. In fact: imagine if Necro had an archer stance and shot energy arrows at you from a distance!!! ---Dizzy's flame fish looks suspiciously like Sol's Dragon Install face from GG2 Overture... any relation? Sol? [JACK-O'VALENTINE] ---The Original Valentine actually had a really funky "projectile juggle combo" which was the equivalent of Mu-12 stone setups. ---Valentine also had a very cute "slap combo" at close range, which Jack-O' never uses. [JAM] ---EX Jam originally had a command grab called Shupo Senken which essentially hit like Kenshiro's Hyakuretsuken. ---She also had a long-range ultra-fast projectile Banri Senken which was like a Ki bullet with a Dragon motif... ---Also, her "puffball" (Hyappo Shinshou) translates as "100 Step Shining Bell", so it's actually a "bell" not a "puffball". ---Her charging stance would be ridiculous if she existed in the first GG... not only could she stance-cancel them... she could use them mid-combo... scary to think about. [JOHNNY] ---Originally "Zweihander" was called "Divine Blade" and was done with his hand, not his leg... it also didn't crossup... so he has actually gotten stronger. ---Mist Finer Level 3 used to be a multi-hit mixup, but because it threw in actual "low Mist finers" mid-strike, unless the opponent blocked it low, they couldn't block it at all at that speed... it was the equivalent of getting caught in Tachibana Ukyo's Sasameyuki (Rapid Snowflakes slash) from Samurai Showdown. ---R.I.P. Ensenga... well, the original animation wasted a good bottle of whiskey, so I'm sure Johnny's glad it's no longer needed! [KUM] ---Kum's thrust kick (Reverse Four Tigers Sword) is actually very hard to deal with as a DP, especially if player is good at the execution (rapid fire Tiger Swords... ugh)... this may get nerfed at some point if they spam it too much, so keep that in mind. ---It "says" 3000 palm strike is vulnerable to Overdrives, but it would be nice if Blitz Shield charge moves could hit him out of it too. [RAVEN] ---Originally as of GG2 Overture Raven had something like 10 or more additional "poses" he could do after Verzweifelt... so be grateful he isn't as flashy as he used to be (or is it sexy to you?) [BAIKEN] ---Baiken's new "Kuchinashi" is reminiscent to the leaping sword animation startup of her original Youzansen. Youzansen was self-cancellable from the ground and could be spam-looped! In fact, if you RC Kuchinashi in to Youzansen, you'd get the full original animation! ---Fishing fly (her hook grab) was originally called "Kamaitachi" and was strictly horizontal and did a followup horizontal slash instead of Tetsuzansen, though I think it's still combo-able if you do it right. [ANSWER] ---If Answer is anything like famous Ninja Hattori Hanzo or even BlazBlue's Hibiki Kohaku, expect a lot of command throws as the highlight of the match. ---Ninja Feint mixups are very hard to predict, even more so than Millia's guessing games at times, so you really have to rely on the habits of your opponent to get a read on things.
And that's it. Hope you enjoyed the foray and my thoughts on the upcoming Loketest.
