My contribution for this year's Wangxian Winter Solstice Exchange 2022, organised by @wangxiangiftexchange ! My giftee was @dreamingdoll9 , and now that the reveal post is up, I thought I'd go ahead and post the version that has my watermark as well.

Winter Solstice gift for @sharpieshepie!

As soon as I read about the child AU, I have instantly remembered several fan fictions with such a plot. It was a pleasure drawing child Wangji and adult Wei Wuxian playing with him. 

I am also a big fan of Chinese child tiger hats and toys, so I could not pass this opportunity to draw them. I think, serious little Wangji would look adorable in a hat like this.

Hi Wisty!! I hope you enjoy!!💕 This was so much fun to write. I saw ‘soulmate au’ and ‘happy ending’ and honestly just went bananas😌

To Be Loved Is to Be Known

Wei Wuxian’s soulmate is dead.

That’s the only explanation he can come up with.

“They’re not dead, you idiot!” Jiang Cheng snaps, rolling his eyes as he shoves Wei Wuxian off from where he’d draped himself dramatically over his shoulders. “If they were really dead, the mark would’ve disappeared!”

“Then why haven’t they used the connection? Not even once?” Wei Wuxian whines, jabbing emphatically at his own left arm where, hidden beneath his sleeves, sits his soulmate mark — a loquat-sized smudge by his inner elbow, white as snow except for a small dot of pale blue near the upper left corner. He insists it looks like a rabbit. Jiang Cheng argues it looks more like a cloud.

It’s nearly Winter Solstice/Dōngzhì!

Hope everyone is excited to see lots of Wangxian-themed gifts? I KNOW I AM :D

The gifts will be tagged with #wangxiansolstice22 and the #username of whomever the gift is meant for! This way everyone hopefully should be able to “find” their gift(s) quite easily :)  I’ve added the @ username tag where I could too, but it didn’t work for everyone who’s participating.

The gift-posting is scheduled to commence at 3PM GMT tomorrow and should automatically go on until it runs out some time in the evening, with new gifts posted every 15 minutes :D

I’m currently running in circles to queue them all, and some amazing pinch hitters are still working to make sure everyone gets a gift tomorrow! Best fandom <3 ;)

Pretty much the only time Wei Wuxian spent in the Unclean Realm was during the Sunshot campaign, which wasn’t the best time for him or for the place. He was honestly glad his memory of the time was fairly spotty, owing in part to spending it as drunk as possible—it gave him the ability to make better memories instead of being immersed in those of war and death and grave dirt. 

Nie Huaisang calling over the wall when they moved out for him, no one else, to take care, was one of a few that weren’t a blur of blood and pain. His friend, he knew now, was aware something was wrong, even if he didn’t know what, and apparently aside from wanting his brother safe, Wei Wuxian was one of the few others in the jianghu who held that perhaps dubious honor.

The Chase

Lan Wangji, after attending his Uncle’s class, decided that a walk through the outback of his home was a great way to unwind the tension that built within him. It was his first time mingling with disciples outside of his clan and while he thought he was prepared for such encounters, he was terribly wrong. While the Lan Sect had a rule of not transforming into their true, original form, the disciples of the other sects had no quals of doing so. Oftentimes, Lan Wangji caught them transforming right outside their dorms, running around freely as if they held no restrictions to their more primal needs and wants.
