Traveling in Sri Lanka is pretty safe. It goes without saying that you should lock your valuables. Sri Lanka has grown tourist-friendly destinations over the past decade. Always remember to use common sense to ensure safety on your travels.

Women are advised to take particular care, especially when traveling alone. An expanded number of western ladies have announced verbal or physical ambush and beverages being spiked with drugs. Continuously watch out for your beverage and walk with somebody when it’s late at night. There are lots of amazing things you can do in Sri Lanka such as visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress or take a gorgeous train ride from Kandy to Ella, and many others.

It is pretty easy to get around in Sri Lanka, some modes of transport may be time-consuming. You can either take local bus transport, the train, or hire a private driver to arrive at your goals.

1 - Kandy

Kandy is the second-largest city in Sri Lanka; this city lies in the heart of the country and is the most symbolic, cultural, and religious center. A day or two is good enough to cover all these places. If you can put the city in your travel itinerary, it will surely be worth it. There are budget-friendly places to stay in Kandy city.

2 - Ella

The small town of Ella definitely has my heart. Ella is easily the most beautiful place to visit in Sri Lanka. You can find many awesome things to do in Ella. it is one such place that you should definitely include in your itinerary.

The hilly regions of the town have rich biodiversity and diverse flora and fauna. Take one of the most beautiful train rides of the world from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. It is one of the must-do things in Sri Lanka.

3 - Nuwara Eliya

The beautiful city is nestled in the heart of the tea country hills of Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is often referred to as ‘Mini London’. There are many places to visit in Nuwara Eliya.
