✔ Share an adventure and travel experience with a long-time friend 📌 Sumaguing Cave, Sagada, Mt. Province 📆 January 29, 2014 . . One of my favorite place in the Philippines is Sagada. This is where I first experience spelunking and trekking rice terraces. My first visit was in 2011, I went back several times more after to bring groups. The latest was in 2014 with my long-time friend Bel and her husband Rene together with their staff. Spelunking in Sumaguing Cave is just one of the many things to experience in Sagada. Unfortunately, as of this writing, Sumaguing Cave is closed to public. That's just sad. . . Another annual event I missed this year - Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark, Pampanga. The last time I attended it was on Feb. 24, 2013. I have this feeling that I will have to pass on this year's Pyro Olympics in Pasay City (again). Though, there's still more than two weeks to go before the final exhibition happens on March 18. (crossed fingers) The last time I've watched it was during the 4th Pyro Olypics in 2013. We had a very busy year-end until the month of February 2013 so Jen, Yab and I decided to have some weekend bonding which is sort of post-Valentine celebration. Being a regular third wheeler to the couple, I am tasked to get us the tickets whom I luckily got thru Metrodeal a few days before Feb. 16, our chosen sched. While waiting for the show to start, we went to have a brief stroll at MOA before having a hearty early dinner at KKK. It was Japan's and Finland's entries that's on schedule that day. Despite our spot, we enjoyed the show and was able to get good pictures (sorry mine was kind of crappy taken from the cheapest model of Blackberry hahaha) and simply enjoyed each other's company. We hang around for quite awhile, grabbed some hotdogs and waffles for snack while deciding where to go after. ✔ Visit Hinulugang Taktak 📌 Taktak Road, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City 📆 Feb 2016 . . Wondering how Hinulugang Taktak looks like today? Ganyan may masungit na bantay..haha. Seriously, I don't have any knowledge how Hinulugang Taktak looks way back before the song has become popular during my elementary years. But I guess today was a far cry from how it has been : 1. Cemented pathways and viewing decks 2. The entire property smells like creek water (only tolerable for me but not for long) 3. Water is not good for swimming (above the falls are residential houses, thus water falls includes canal waters) 4. I find it weird to see someone sweeping along the waterfalls banks because there are still visitors (or maybe residents above it) who don't take garbage disposal properly 5. Plenty of picnic tables for free use and it is allowed to bring in food 6. Signal up there is excellent. Yey! Despite my disappointment that we can't fulfill a lifelong dream to bathe in the waterfalls I still salute the local government for doing their best to maintain this park and even built a large swimming pool inside (well maybe to make up for the lost falls). At least once in my life I experienced missing a flight not because I overslept or I misunderstood military time. Pero hanggang dyan nalang kwento ko. Nakakahiya i-share eh. Basta Cebu Pacific has become my least favorite airline mula nun. Haha. Also since then, 3 hours before the flight palaging nasa airport na ko at check-in agad online. ✔ Photo op with the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte (standee version only) 📌 Residence of Pres. Duterte 📆 Dec. 14, 2016 . . When in Davao City, add in your itinerary a side trip to the residence of President Duterte especially if you will be visiting the countryside. There's nothing much to see since it's residential subdivision. During my visit, I noticed 3 things : 1. There are just enough police, guards and military men posted. They are alert, attentive and friendly. Someone even greeted us "good day" in Visayan language while he do his job, doing a mental record of our faces while checking our IDs. 2. Neighbors sell Davao and Duterte souvenir items like t-shirts, mugs and keychains to tourists. 3. President Duterte's house is one of the simplest house in the subdivision. The gate even looks it hasn't been repainted for at least the past 2 or 3 years. . . The residence of President Rodrigo Duterte is located at Villa Luisa I Subd., Matina, Davao del Sur. Visitors can come as early as 7AM up until 6PM only. Present an ID upon registration. . . ✔ Take that adventurous ride 📌 Macapagal Point, Mt. Pinatubo 📆 May 12, 2013 . . Riding a 4x4 wheel in Mt. Pinatubo is part of the experience. During my last trip in 2013, the unit left for me and my group is almost “bare”, like every part of the vehicle may fall one by one before it even reach its destination. I wanted to get another one, but my group thinks it's cool. The driver guaranteed me that it’s safe, in fact he even uses it during races. So I hopped in and enjoyed the ride for the nth time. 😊😊😊 . . ✔ Forget travel itineraries, just have fun. Do something wild.📌Bangui Windmills, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte 📆 April 6, 2012 💬 Guys, I’ll just be here to take photos. I don’t wanna swim. So when you’re all gone, I’ll still be around to tell them (your family) what happened. 😂😂😂 . . We plan to make Saud Beach our final stop of the day to go swimming until sunset before we go back to our homestay. So I advised my group to wear their swimsuits underneath their clothes just to save time. Told them we will just stop by Bangui Windmills to take photos. But we ended up playing and swimming by the shore againts raging waves and strong winds, something that we don’t encourage others to do. I don’t know what came about in all of us that day, no one even reprimanded us either, maybe that’s why we continued having our own adventure, just being careful not to go far beyond a safe part of the shore.
