You can talk about how problematic "A Game of You" is, but like...I read it in 2011, some twenty years after it came out; and honestly it was *still* the only sympathetic treatment of a transgender woman character that I'd ever seen in mass media. And it remained so for several years afterwards, too.

Something that always stuck with me is the part of Wanda’s story where Thessaly doesn’t include her in the moon ritual. On a recent reread of it, I felt that it was a part of the story that could get some interesting updates when it is put on the Netflix show. Anyway, this card is kind of my play on that, specifically that both these women are of the moon.

dream: I mean he’s the protagonist, he’s so depressed, he’s dramatic, he acts like a weird creature half the time, he’s burdened by the weight of responsibilities that he imposed upon himself. and also just look at him for heavens sake! also the show adaptation is like. He is so autism.

Wanda: Wanda is EVERYTHING. Oh my god, I cannot wait to see how her character is adapted but just like. AAAAAAA WHAT A WOMAN WHAT A CHARACTER SHE IS MY FAVORITE <333333

Lucienne: AAAAAAA LUCIENNE!!!!!! I prefer her show adaptation- vivienne acheampong’s performance is just STELLAR. And her character?? The capital L Loyalty, the way she encourages dream to change- anyways I think she should get to do whatever she wants forever and she deserves to rule the dreaming if she wants to. (She also deserves to get her shit slonked silly style by a very adoring dream if she so wishes as well. Like sir u should be on your knees thanking her and offering her the world. destruction: HE!! Like he makes bad art and he has a dog companion and he cares so so much and he left!!! He changed!!! And also he’s just hot. Anyways love him. He is the moment.

rose: oh my god rose. Like!!! Oldest sibling!!! Kinda god like! So kind and wonderful and interesting and also sorta all powerful for a while there. She defied the endless to protect her brother and her friends, shes determined as hell and incredibly brave, she’s a descendant of the endless, she’s a writer, she’s everything!!!!

the corinthian: such an interesting character to explore. Like there’s so much there!! His relationship to dream and to his function and to humanity. The pain and conflict that comes with all of that. The exploration of identity and agency. The symbolism. Also he’s a slut (affectionate)

Hob: in the show he’s got a whole nother layer of charisma and personality to him, and also just the concept of his character is really cool. Like look at this medieval peasant who became immortal through sheer force of will! Rad.
