Nightwing: I feel great, but is there something on my suit?

Cyborg (horrified): There’s a knife in your thigh!

Nightwing glanced down at the small dagger jutting from his left thigh. He tilted his head and gripped the hilt, steeling himself as he counted to fifteen in his head.

Kid Flash: You're not actually going to yank that out, are you?

Nightwing didn’t respond. With a quick motion, he pulled the knife out, suppressing a grunt of pain. His friends were too stunned to speak especially when an unfazed Nightwing limped forward, humming a shanty he’d heard on Spotify.

Starfire: It's not the worse pain he's been through, if you know what I mean. Wink-wink.

Starfire elbowed Raven while winking. The half-demon woman shook her head, but was unable to suppress her smile.

Beast Boy (chewing on a granola bar): Dude, you need to go to the hospital?

Nightwing (still walking, calm): Nah. Just need to walk it off then I'll bandage it later. Chat amongst yourselves.

Beast Boy (quickly changing the subject): Alright, all good then. Did you guys catch that debate on CNN last night? Makes me feel for the Republicans. Like, they can’t catch a break. Isn't that right, red state?

Beast Boy turned to Kid Flash, who shot him an annoyed glare. Starfire giggled, covering her mouth.

Starfire: How is your Midwestern conservativeness holding up?

Kid Flash: Once these four years are over, we’ll be back on top.

Cyborg: Honestly, I’m just glad you didn’t vote for any of them in the last two elections. I would’ve had to punch you. Just like every mission where we worked together, just a punch.

Wally: Oddly enough, I wouldn’t even blame you if I had voted for him.
