Room 143 | idol!han x fem!reader
Read Part 1 here | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
Delulu! Absolute delulu!
So we all know a skz comeback is in the works (including a tour) and I have suddenly felt all nostalgic about seeing them in Sydney in 2023.
Last year I wrote a little fic about y/n going to the concert and by chance having a night of passion with the yummy Han Jisung.
I thought it might be nice to revisit it with a rework (the original had an original female character but I’m changing it to y/n).
I’ve only changed a little bit so far and want to know if you want me to continue to share the fic?
Plus…. I thought it might be nice to revisit to celebrate 1k followers here.
If someone had told you that you would have one night with Han Jisung, you would have laughed in their face.
[ Han heard your frustrated, pathetic cry. “Tell me what you need me to do.” He whispered huskily between kisses.
“Touch me, Han.” You breathed, and you reached down to touch his hand on your thigh. “Please.” Your voice was barely audible.
He let out a shaky breath and looked down to where your hands were resting together on your leg. Your hand slid back up his arm to grip his bicep, and he slowly inched his fingers up the inside of your leg, his hungry eyes following his hand as it disappeared under your skirt. ]
Earlier that day…
It was finally Tuesday, and you woke up in the hotel room with excitement. Tonight was the night. Stray Kids were having their Sydney concerts tonight and tomorrow night and you were going to both!
You flicked the sheet off of you but continued to lay there trying to ground yourself in the reality that you were actually going to see them in real life. They would be in the same place as you. At the same time. You squealed and flapped your arms and legs around in excitement. You were such a nerd.
Sydney had been hot this week. February was the hottest month of the year in Australia, but this week was outrageously hot, and STAYS were getting worried about the outfits they had chosen for the night. It was definitely not the weather for black pants and boots, or any of the punk/goth-like attire many had planned to wear. You’d been sweating for days, and you hoped the boys would be able to cope tonight. They had already performed two concerts in Melbourne, and that city had had a heatwave too.
You had arrived at the hotel yesterday evening, to give yourself a little bit of a mini break from your busy life, and, because you didn’t know anyone who liked Kpop, your mini break was also a solo one.
But that didn’t bother you at all. You knew from the STAY’s Facebook group that many were going to the concerts solo. You loved the idea that young people these days are happy to enjoy the things that light them up, even if no one else they know likes it.
You checked the time on your phone. 8am. You had too many hours to kill, and decided you’d go have some breakfast and then go do a workout in the hotel’s gym. That should pass some time and get a smidge of your pent up excitement out of your restless body.
Down in the restaurant you ate the standard “Continental breakfast”, and filled up on pastries and orange juice. The restaurant was practically empty. Any business folk would have already eaten (if they had even eaten at all) and be off to work, and since it wasn’t the weekend, there weren’t any families around. Empty and quiet.
Once you had enough to eat and drink you headed to the gym room.
You’re not the fittest person in the world, and you were definitely not the most confident person in a gym setting, but you did like to make sure you exercised three times a week to relieve stress.
You were thankful the gym was empty too. Good, no one would see your awkwardness. The room was moderately sized, with several treadmills and elliptical machines along the back wall, a floor area for mat work, some strength training equipment and free weights along the full length mirrored side wall. Two weights benches were parked nearby.
After warming up on an exercise bike you wandered over to the weights and picked up the 4 kg dumbbell and sat down on a bench and began a set of bicep curls.
That’s when you heard voices outside. Male voices. Getting closer to the gym.
Fuck. Don’t tell me some gym guys are going to come in here?
You could feel your skin flushing as you became flustered. You listened hard trying to find out what the voices were saying.
One voice was bellowing loudly, another laughing. But you couldn’t understand them. They were speaking a foreign language.
The gym door burst open and three men dressed in black confidently sauntered in.
They noticed you right away and nodded a polite hello to you, bowing slightly when they did.
You automatically responded with a friendly smile and a “hello, how are you.” But inside you had frozen.
It was fucking 3Racha.
A/n: I’d love to know if you want more of the story???

Racing Hearts! - F1 Driver! Gojo Satoru (A LOTG spinoff)
synopsis: Ferrari sensation Gojo Satoru dominates headlines and social media with his unmatched driving prowess and intriguing personal life. Yet, beneath the surface, Gojo harbors a secret that could shake up the F1 world. An unrelenting F1 journalist, determined to unearth the truth, becomes his unexpected adversary—one who might finally expose the enigma that is Gojo Satoru.
content: formula one x jujutsu kaisen, eventual enemies to lovers, angst, themes of isolation, mental health themes, swearing
author's note: I've decided that we all deserve F1 Gojo as much as we deserved F1 Yuta. Hope the jjk and formula one fans enjoy this. This will be much more drama packed than LOTG. Keep following along!
word count: 2k
When the strongest roars across the asphalt, the crowd sees burning red
-
Satoru Gojo lounges lazily on his plush, red velvet, king-sized bed, eyeing his mail with curiosity. He holds a dainty pink envelope up to the light, squinting to make out the words through the paper screen. Carefully, he tears it open, revealing a letter and a photograph: a glossy snapshot of one of his closest friends and fellow drivers, Yuta Okkotsu. Yuta, dressed in a sleek, emerald tuxedo, is smiling dreamily at his fiancée, who is cradled in his arms in a princess carry. They look good, Gojo thinks. Yuta has regained his glow over the past year; in fact, he seems to have put on a few pounds of healthy weight.
Gojo fishes out the letter next. Dyed a flowery shade of baby pink similar to the envelope and stamped with red words, it reads: We are getting married, and you are invited!
Bummer. He was 99.9% sure he'd be asked to officiate. But alas.
He shakes his head comically as he reads further.
"Kindly do not bring any gifts, only your blessings. If you feel like gifting something, please donate to a charity of your choice!"
Tacky much. If he were in their place, he definitely would have asked for extravagant gifts. But given how Yuta's brain works and how much his fiancée mirrors him, Gojo isn't surprised in the slightest.
What does surprise him though is the last line in the letter, highlighting the best man and the maid of honor. The best man isn't his mates from his early racing days, Geto or Gojo. But Inumaki...
"Seriously, Okkotsu?" Gojo gawks at the letter dramatically and then shoves it away from him. Must be nice. To have a small circuit of friends, a good team, a hot fiancée, a quiet, successful life.
Must be nice.
He skeptically eyes the collection of trophies that decorate the wall opposite to his bed. Some golds from Melbourne, Suzuka, Sao Paolo, Silverstone. A few silvers and bronzes from the American and Asian legs. No driver's championship yet.
Gojo joined Ferrari at just 20 years old as their golden boy, and now, after eight years with the team, he had experienced many successful runs—but never a victory. He had finished second six times until Okkotsu entered the scene and began dominating the field, pushing him to third in the championship standings. Despite his outwardly charismatic and confident persona, the pressure of failing to deliver Ferrari their long-awaited win gnawed at him like a thousand needles.
The prince of Ferrari was yet to become their king. But perhaps, the prince will never grow up enough to be a king.
He tries to shoo the depressing thoughts away. There is no time for depression during the long-awaited summer break.
He needed to get out of the house, that would do the trick.
Gojo swings his legs out of bed, stretching lazily as his bare feet sink into the soft, imported carpet beneath him. His house, perched on a hill overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, is a gleaming example of his lavish lifestyle in Monaco. The sleek, modern architecture—glass walls, sharp lines, and white stone—gives it a futuristic edge. Even the driveway has an air of luxury, with its tasteful selection of Italian sports cars parked under the evening sun.
The dusk is warm, the salty breeze from the sea cutting through the air, ruffling his silver hair and putting on his sunglasses as he steps out of the front door.
*ka-chick*
"Huh?" Gojo's ears perk up and he looks around to see where the sound came from. Usually, paparazzi hunt their prey in a herd. They are easily recognizable by their incessant catcalling, comments and the barrage of flash noise. Maybe this was a newbie or a paparazzo gone rogue. Gojo shrugs, strikes a pose or two for this invisible photographer and continues on his merry way.
He isn't in the mood for the clubs or the cabarets today. He mostly certainly would prefer a quiet, inconspicuous bar though. He is not much of a drinker, hell he won't even drink the champagne he pops on the podium - but a bar is a perfect place to be incognito. The dim ambience and drunk people - no one would notice him.
He almost passes a shoddy looking establishment and decides to enter it. To his massive relief, it is rather empty. There a blue LEDs lining the bar counter and the ceiling. There's about two couples snogging in the dark corners of the bar and a few lone souls scattered about, too drunk in their sorrows and the alcohol to look up.
So, it's that kind of place. It might be poetic for him to be there, satoru thinks.
Gojo settles into a dimly lit corner of the bar, reclining into the worn leather booth with a relaxed yet cynical smirk. His sunglasses, still perched on his nose despite the low light, reflect the faint blue glow from the LED strips. It’s not a place one would expect to find a Formula 1 superstar like him, and that’s exactly why he’s here. Tonight, he just wants to vanish.
He signals for the bartender, a gruff-looking man with a thick beard and tired eyes. “Vodka, neat,” Gojo says, voice low and lazy. The bartender nods and moves without a word, leaving Gojo to his thoughts.
As he waits, his mind circles back to Yuta. That damn wedding invitation. It shouldn’t bother him, but it does. Yuta Okkotsu—once the rookie he used to coach on the finer points of track politics—had come into his own. Not only was he dominating on the track, but now he was settling down, tying the knot, living the kind of balanced life that Gojo had never allowed himself to dream of. Gojo could dominate in any social setting, but in his private moments, he always felt like something was missing—like he was playing a role, never truly himself.
His phone buzzes in his pocket. Gojo pulls it out, half-expecting spam but instead, it’s a message from an unexpected friend.
Geto Suguru: Get the invite yet?
Gojo satoru: Sure did. Gonna go?
Geto Suguru: Well, of course. Won't you?
Gojo Satoru: I'm having second thoughts. After he picked Inumaki as his best man. What speech is Inumaki even going to give, I swear I've never heard him speak!
As Gojo waits for a reply, the bartender slides him a stout glass full of clear liquid, reeking of spirit. Gojo takes a small sip that burns his palate and throat. He never drinks, what was he thinking.
He tries savoring the bitter aftertaste and the buzz hitting his brain as he sees the shadows on his tables shift.
He looks up from under his sunglasses and stares at you who is blocking the light from reaching his table completely. His eyes narrow as he tries to make out your features through the dim, blue-lit haze of the bar. It takes him a second to register who it is, but when he does, his expression lights up, though the usual cocky grin doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
"Well, well, well..." He sings. "Look who's here."
You don't reply back and take a seat across him. The leather on your seat is cracking and reeks of smoke. Could Gojo have not picked a better place to sulk in.
His eyes crinkle at their edges as you notice a slight shift in his expression. He appears to be pitying you.
"Out for my blood again, you leech?" he asks flatly, taking another sip of his drink. You don't recall him being a drinker from your years worth of notes.
"There are better things to drink." you reply, matching his tone as the bartender appears at the table again.
"Ah, miss, anything for you?"
"A bloody mary, please."
"On your tab right, sir?" the bartender looks at Gojo.
"Hell to the NO!" He snaps. "Put her drink on her tab!"
The bartender grimaces at Gojo and leaves, mumbling.
"They'll think you're a monster. Couldn't even pay for his woman's drink?" You prod Gojo, trying to make him break.
"As if anyone would ever think I'd be dating you. Don't embarrass yourself. What do you want from me now?" Gojo demands, crossing his arms against his chest after removing his sunglasses. His piercing blue eyes refuse to look away from you.
"The people need to know... I need to do my job." you state.
"They know enough. They don't need to know any more."
You quickly bring out a notepad, a recorder and press record on it.
"Any comments regarding rumors surrounding your transfer?"
At that moment, you witness the color leaves Gojo's face.
"W-What transfer? I am unsure what you're insinuating here."
"The rumor mill says you will be leaving Ferrari soon due to unsatisfactory performance and unreasonable team strategy. I'll quote you, please say something."
"You can't put those words in my mouth, all of that is-"
Gojo clears his throat and realizes he's now screaming, almost upright on his chair. He sits back to down.
"I am dedicated to Ferrari and their mission to win for this rest of 2024. That's all. Thank you."
You swiftly stop recording and lean over the table.
"So, what after 2024?"
"It's none of your business."
"I told you... this is my job."
"Y/N." His voice softens. "It's been nearly 7 years now. Can you not find any other driver to stalk?"
"I'm fine even if you report about my personal life." He continues. "That's less stressful than all of this."
Gojo's eyes, once sharp with irritation, soften as he leans back in his chair. His posture relaxes slightly, though his fingers still tap impatiently against the glass in his hand. The tension in the air between the two of you is palpable—years of history, unresolved tension, and unspoken words that neither of you have ever truly addressed. His last remark lingers in the dim light of the bar.
“Seven years, huh?” you say, raising an eyebrow. “And yet, here we are. You, still the untouchable star, and me, still chasing after the story that no one else can seem to tell.”
Gojo chuckles, though it lacks the usual arrogance. “Untouchable star? More like a dimming one. I can see it in your eyes. You think this is it for me, don’t you? That I’m washed up. A wasted talent. You can write about all that.”
You don’t reply immediately, watching him instead. The Gojo sitting across from you is different from the man you first met seven years ago. He was all fire and flash back then, burning too bright to let anyone close. But now, the cracks in the façade are starting to show. The endless pressure, the failure to deliver Ferrari’s long-awaited championship, and the gnawing sense of inadequacy have worn him down, whether he admits it or not.
“I don’t think you’re washed up,” you finally say, leaning back in your seat. “But I do think you’re scared.”
His blue eyes narrow slightly, the playful glint fading. “Scared? Of what?”
“Of what happens if you’re not the Satoru Gojo anymore. Of what happens when the lights go out, and the fans move on to the next rising star. What happens when you’re not Ferrari’s golden boy anymore?”
Gojo is speechless for a second after which he downs the remnants of his Vodka.
"I will resign before that happens." he declares.
"And you-" He gets up finally, covering the distance between you and him in a single stride, grabbing your jaw as he looks down at you.
"Move the hell on. It's been seven years. Get a life."
And with that, he pays for both of your drinks, takes his leave - the bar door chiming as it swings shut behind him.
"You are wrong Satoru." you whisper to yourself, letting go of the breath you were holding.
"Seven years. I have waited seven years for this."
You shimmy out your laptop from your bag and prop it open on the table. Quite a few curious eyes turn to see you.

Anyone for a double dome home that looks like twin igloos? Look, there's even a little one for the doggo. The 1985 build was well-cared for, is in Melbourne, Florida, has 3bds, 2.5ba, $500K. Oh, and it will withstand a cat5 hurricane.
It's gated, which is kind of cool.
2 ponds w/fountains.
Front door opens to a mirrored wall and stairs, with the living area straight ahead.
I like the ceiling and floor.
To the left is a modern double-sided fireplace and the kitchen, plus doors to the patio.
The kitchen's smallish, but very nice and has a wine rack, plus a island that accommodates some seating.
In front of the doors is space for a dining area and there's also a built-in cabinet.
The primary bedroom has a closet, door to the terrace, built-in cabinets with a headboard for the bed, and a bench.
The terrace overlooks the patio.
A ladder goes up to a loft.
In the loft are 2 built-in benches with glass to look down at the bedroom. The loft is up in the cupola on the top of the house, so you can open the louver shutters to look out.
Plenty of built-in storage for clothes.
The bath is pretty roomy.
Cute built-in office.
Secondary bedrooms.
Bath #2.
The room up here is air conditioned and everything, but it's unfinished.
Nice bright basement.
The 1/2 bath is down here.
The outdoor patio is surrounded by a planter.
The lot is 1.24 acres.

Hannah visits a tiny yard in Melbourne’s inner-city that is bursting with ideas and productive plants.
Hannah's in Melbourne to visit an inner-city patch that's small on space but big on plants and style. Garden owners, Judy and Andreas Sederof, have transformed a challenging block into a productive patch that is filled with color year-round. Situated in Brunswick east near the Merri Creek, it's filled to the brim with plants and ideas in every inch of this 66sqm garden. Judy describes it as “pretty eclectic, pretty crazy... I just collect plants. I'll see a plant and I’ll love it.” The site has been designed with the house built on the back boundary to leave a bigger space for a garden out the front. The diversity of the garden highlights different types of plants, which take advantage of the various soil profiles. Judy says, “we have quite deep, productive soil here which was nurtured, adding compost and mulch, but it really was pretty good to begin with. Whereas this side of the garden is really all on rock, so it had to be built above the ground.” There’s a lot of colour in this garden and Judy says this is due to her background in design and interiors, “I just love color and I'm always changing the color pallets and getting it to work together.”
Judy and Andreas have been designing sustainable houses for 30 years and built their own with the aim of being light on the land. Andreas says, “the four critical elements are glass, mass, insulation and most importantly orientation. We chose this block because the house faces north which is the optimum angle for sustainable building design, often called passive design.” In this home, the ceiling has 2-feet of insulation which Andreas calls “super-insulation” as it’s double the standardised requirements. “Everything in here is double or triple glazed... and to get this house to 9.5 stars, we had to provide way more concrete or brickwork than this house was planned for,” says Andreas. The sustainable principles that underpin the house can also be found in the garden. Timber used in the wicking beds is Cypress macrocarpa, which is known to be a sustainable timber, and “things like not having any hard surfaces so that the land absorbs the moisture, and it doesn't heat up the building,” says Judy. Pipes direct grey water from the shower to the garden, as well as “two squat rainwater tanks underneath the deck here that are connected to a pump; they collect rainwater from the roof. We use that a lot in summer,” says Judy.
With no bare ground in the planting style, Judy says, “one of the things is to plant heavily so it keeps weeds down. They also provide quite a lot more moisture to the site, so I mulch, but I don't have to weed very often.” Much of the garden is edible, including flowers like nasturtium, marigold and viola. Judy says, “In summer I can grow some of the bigger vegies like eggplants and tomatoes. Over winter, there's more low growing brassicas and herbs.” Judy utilises tent structures and shed walls to grow vegies vertically, as well as wicking beds that were built by Andreas. “They're really high functioning wicking beds,” says Judy, “They store a lot of the moisture, and it wicks up in the soil. I just have to put a light sprinkling of water on top when I'm growing seeds but mostly the vegetables root down quite well.” Judy takes her love of designing interiors to the outdoors and uses a lot of recycled materials, including baskets from old vineyards repurposed as planters, and an eclectic mix of mirrors, sculptures and ornaments found in hard rubbish collections. “I do collect things... I do it innately, I don't think about it that much,” says Judy and in a cool temperate garden when many plants lose their leaves, having these elements really hold the garden together. Even though it's a small space, there's more than enough happening year-round to keep Judy actively planting, improving and making the most of her little productive inner-city sanctuary. “It's a connection with the Earth to me,” says Judy, “it really grounds me... it's very soothing.”

New Fic! Dancing With Our Hands Tied
Publishing my first @jilymicro-oops fic! This fic covers much more than a "Glance" now : )
Read Chapter 1 on AO3
Summary:
But despite his best efforts, he couldn’t take his eyes off her figure as she moved effortlessly in rhythm with whatever song she had playing. He learned she was wearing more than a t-shirt when she slid across the kitchen on her socks, throwing her head back to sing words James wished he could hear.
OR: In a world where social distancing reigns supreme, two strangers find themselves confined to their apartments with love only a window away.
Chapter One - Enchanted
Fucking hell, this bag was heavy .
Lily’s steps were slow and deliberate, burdened by the deceptively cheerful turquoise suitcase that carried everything from her year abroad in Melbourne. Her breath was hot against the itchy mask that was irritating, but necessary until she was ensconced in the sanctuary of her own apartment.
Despite the extensive weight of her bag, Lily was determined. She hauled it up the stairs, into the lift, and the sound of the small rolling wheels echoed as she tugged it down the long hallway, before finally sighing as she stepped into her new flat. She opened and closed her fingers to help return the blood to her fingers again where the suitcase handle had pinched and marked her skin. She supposed arriving home just after covid hit had been lucky. At least she was in the same bloody country as her parents incase things got worse.
Not that it really mattered; she couldn’t see them anyways. But it was comforting somehow, knowing that they were within a train ride instead of an overnight flight.
She’d only ever seen the flat online, and although it hadn’t been as much of a gamble, thank you 3D walk-throughs , she was still quite relieved to find it as charming and clean as the photos had been.
It was a bright, sunny flat with high ceilings and large windows. The rays of the evening sun hit the light walls with a golden hue, excluding a peacefulness that crept up and over Lily as she stood in the doorway. Her potted plants of various sizes and shapes were scattered throughout the living area, lending further serenity and freshness to the room.
She’d have to thank Marlene for arranging for her things to be brought out of storage - and for picking out that heavenly looking sofa. It sat facing the large window that looked out over the cosy street. After hours of sleepless travelling and swaps stuck up her nose, Lily was never more thankful the movers had unpacked most of her things that had been in storage, so Lily only had the finishing touches to do. Her feet padded across the hardwood floor as she made her way to the window, determined to open it for the breeze if this was the fresh air she was limited to for god knows how long .
There was a tree to her left that blocked her view of any apartments down the street, the only one she could see was the one directly across from her, arranged in a mirror image of her layout.
And to the right…
Marlene had done well.

It was a good find with prices down at the moment.
I figured a bit of green would be nice while you’re stuck inside all day!
Not as much green as me, but tried my best X

Lily felt happiness wash over her as she settled. It was kind of happiness that made the air feel fresher, that boosted her energy and let her face rest in a content smile. It felt good to pack away her things, nest , her grandmother had called it. And be home. In her city. Even if she couldn’t enjoy it.
Lily pushed the timber desk against the wall so she could look out over the trees while she worked, dragging the chair across the carpet to complete the basic set up. The walls were more bare than she would like, but artwork would have to wait for tomorrow. For now, the laptop, monitor, keyboard and mouse were all she needed to work.
She really should save more of this for tomorrow, Lily thought as she eyed her clothes in the closet and the pile of books in her living room. Rinse off and sleep , she instructed herself firmly.
Thank you Marlene was her last thought before sleep hit as she noticed her curtains were drawn for the night.

James set his phone on the table, heading to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Well, that was his original goal, anyways. Now he stood frozen, unable to move and barely able to breathe.
It turns out someone did move in across the road. But not just anyone.
James felt bewitched . Enchanted . Transfixed . It was hard to look away from her.
She’d obviously just woken up. Her hair hung in a messy state –flowing down her back in soft curls and whisps covering her face as she moved– and she wore an oversized t-shirt that lifted when she danced to reveal–
He shouldn’t be looking , James reprimanded himself sternly.
But despite his best efforts, he couldn’t take his eyes off her figure as she moved effortlessly in rhythm with whatever song she had playing. He learned she was wearing more than a t-shirt when she slid across the kitchen on her socks, throwing her head back to sing words James wished he could hear. He felt a surprised laugh escape him at the pure joy this woman seemed to exude…all for making breakfast. James stepped closer to the window and strained his ears – he could faintly make out the faint tunes of That’s why they call it the blues as she swung and shimmied her way around the kitchen, opening all the cupboards in obvious search of something.
-------------------------
Lily sang softly as she set the plate on the counter, twirling to adjust her eggs in the pan.
And I guess that’s why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with youLaughing like children, living like–
She did a double take. There, in the living room of the apartment across the way, a young man about her age stood stock still, mouth parted, staring at her. A very fit man . He had a rugged intellectual vibe with messy hair Lily wished she could reach over and touch, thick framed glasses that had slid down his nose slightly and broad shoulders that his t-shirt stretched over deliciously .
Lily froze. She felt a flush creep over her face as she remembered her state of undress and a strange rush of exhilaration overcame her at that same thought. An embarrassed laugh crept out of her when he hesitantly lifted a hand and waved.
She hurriedly waved back, before ducking her head and grabbing her breakfast, very aware of her state of attire - or lack there of - from her waist down.
Lily spent the day setting up her office and avoiding looking through the window. Boxes and boxes of things to set up until her home was just right aught to prove a sufficient distraction, right?
But her mortification only grew as she recalled how scrumptiously appealing he’d looked.
God, how embarrassing . She really should have checked the window, but the street was unusually narrow and the view particularly detailed.
And now she was stuck – unable to avoid him if she wanted to eat meals every day, unable to only spend nights at home because the whole country –the whole bloody world– was in lockdown, and unable to move–
Fuck’s sake Lily, shake it off , she told herself sternly as she tried to push the cloud of shame out of her chest. She knew deep down that the embarrassment, humiliation and self-conscious feeling would recede eventually, it was just difficult to recall with her pounding heart and flushed cheeks.
“Just ignore him, you’ll be fine,” she muttered to herself as she slipped a hair tie from her wrist so she could pull her auburn hair off her neck.
Lily had not yet learned just how impossible of a task it was to ignore James Potter.

First Lines!
@kiraziwrites and @floating-in-the-blue both tagged me "recently" (I am very bad at finishing posts in a timely manner) in the first lines meme!
Rules: share the first lines of ten of your most recent fanfics and tag ten people. If you have written fewer than ten, don’t be shy and share anyway
The Code of the Lannisters - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 5.7K
It began, as far too many disasters did, with the arrival of An Aunt. In this case with the indomitable termagant that was Aunt Genna Frey, née Lannister, who arrived at Jaime’s King’s Landing townhouse for their luncheon in a tizzy and an enormous fur coat.
(Technically the next is a set of drabbles from the MFMM Flashfic challenge, but there's no 'first lines' in those really)
Outback - Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Mac/Rosie, 500 words
Nobody in Melbourne is quite indelicate enough to ask why Rosie Sanderson has moved into the small house near the university, or why she shares it with a doctor who lectures there.
the road back home again - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 27K
The Longclaw Tavern hadn’t changed. The same sawdust floors, the same shitty beer and the shelf of high quality whiskey thick with dust. Beside the bar mirror was a faded sign advertising the sourtoe cocktail, ‘the first and only in Westeros’. Jaime swilled his beer around his mouth, studied the weirwood bar heavy with water stains and pockmarks from decades of visitors to the tavern where the wilderness began.
Undisclosed Desires - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Addam/Brienne, 3.7K
She meets Addam over a sickbed. King's Landing is halfway to rubble when she arrives, and Jaime is halfway to death, and there's a man she's never met standing guard over them both.
These Foolish Things - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 5.5K
Gravel crunches under the wheels of the phaeton as Jaime turns up the long driveway that leads to Baratheon Hall. Thick trees and red sunset skies give the journey the sense of another world, far removed from the bustle of King’s Landing, the march of progress. Old gas lamps spot the long length of the drive—to use electric would be crude, Cersei insists, but Jaime suspects she enjoys the power of sending them to be lit and extinguished at her will, the power to make Robert’s late night returns as difficult as possible in his drunken state.
come in, she said (i'll give you shelter from the storm) - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 1.7K
There is much to do in the rebuilding of Winterfell, the buildings and its people both, and the war to the south still lingers; the Dragon Queen wishes to mobilise her forces and Lady Sansa does not, and it feels hours are wasted every day by their barbed insults and verbal clashes, a subtler warfare than swords and maces but just as deadly. It is that and only that which makes the people look warily out the windows as dusk falls far too early, as the wind begin to blow, bringing with it a driving snow that makes every moving shadow beyond Winterfell’s walls too reminiscent of— It is only the unease of the unknown, that is all. Still, when Brienne returns late to her quarters to find a supper of soup and fresh bread warming over the fire and Jaime in her bed…. Sometimes she is not certain that she did not die after all, and this is her reward.
we shall go into the land (so our children can always hold us) - Wheel of Time, Lan/Nynaeve, 1.3K
Fal Dara is nothing like the Two Rivers. Even now, late into the night with the moon high, there are torches hung on every wall, leaving fewer shadows to hide in; no one in Emond’s Field would think of such a thing, but here… Here, what were children’s tales to her are a way of life, monstrous and magical and mundane all at once.
what strange lullaby is this (that sings from its wound) - Game of Thrones, Brienne-centric, 16.3K
Six moons after the North is granted its independence, its Queen marries a young man from a House of no real repute. But he is young and his family loyal, and on the night of their wedding feast he does not object to the Queen’s silent shadow cloaked in blue armour. The North will not hold with southern wedding customs—there is no disrobing of the bride, no vicious hands or cheering spectators. Only a husband, a Queen, and the woman sworn to protect her.
the fixed foot - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 500 words
Though it is summer, there is a chill in the night air that drives Brienne to sit before the fire in the Evenstar’s rooms. Her rooms. It still feels half a dream, the title; a life she had imagined abandoned when she had sailed from the island and had fallen upon her when she had not expected it. She is grateful that she need not bear it alone, for Jaime had followed her south and then into a sept, declaring what she had long known: she was his and he was hers, and together they would face the challenges to come.
and if tomorrow it's all over, at least we had it for a moment - Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, 12.8K
Fuck loyalty. She stands there, glorious in her fury, stalwart in her declaration. Fuck loyalty. Like it is a simple request, like his loyalty is not the only virtue he has left. He might fuck his sister and try to kill a boy, he might kill a king to stop him from using wildfire and stand by when a queen does. He might be callous and sharp and rude, but he is loyal. And it means nothing to her, angry and righteous as she is, and worse still it reminds him that it is only a virtue if he is loyal to those who deserve it.
I have absolutely zero idea who has done this, so tagging @aurora-australis-tumbles @glamorouspixels @serhumfreysbrokencollarbone @samirant @scoundrels-in-love @luthienebonyx @it-may-be-dull-but-im-determined @catherineflowers29 @ladym-rules @deadhuntress

Maximizing Space: Tips for a Successful Commercial Fit Out in Melbourne
A successful commercial fit-out in Melbourne goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about optimizing every square meter to create a functional, comfortable, and inspiring environment. Whether you’re designing an office, retail space, or hospitality venue, maximizing space while maintaining a stylish and efficient layout is crucial. Here are some expert tips to help you make the most of your commercial fit-out in Melbourne.
1. Plan for Flexibility
One of the most important aspects of a successful commercial fit-out is flexibility. Business needs can change quickly, so it’s essential to create spaces that can adapt over time. Here’s how to make your space flexible:
Modular Furniture: Invest in movable, modular furniture that can be reconfigured as needed. This allows you to easily change the layout for different functions, such as meetings, events, or collaborative work.
Multi-Use Spaces: Design areas that serve multiple purposes, such as breakrooms that can double as meeting spaces or lounge areas that can be used for both work and relaxation.
Open Plan Layouts: Open spaces with movable partitions or dividers give you the flexibility to rearrange your workspace based on your changing needs without the need for expensive renovations.
2. Utilize Vertical Space
When floor space is limited, don’t forget to maximize vertical space. From storage solutions to design elements, using walls and ceiling height can help you create a more spacious and organized environment:
Tall Shelving and Storage: Install floor-to-ceiling shelving or cabinets to keep clutter off desks and floors, making the space feel more open.
Hanging Storage Solutions: For retail fit-outs, use wall-mounted displays or racks to showcase products without taking up valuable floor space.
Vertical Gardens: Incorporating greenery into your fit-out not only boosts employee well-being but also saves space. Vertical gardens or hanging plants bring nature into the workspace without using up valuable square footage.
3. Smart Storage Solutions
Effective storage is key to a functional fit-out, particularly in compact commercial spaces. Incorporating smart storage solutions will help you declutter and make the most of the available area:
Under-Desk Storage: Maximize desk space by adding storage compartments or cabinets underneath for supplies, documents, and personal items.
Built-In Cabinets: Opt for built-in cabinetry or hidden storage to keep items organized without overcrowding the workspace.
Wall-Mounted Shelves: Use wall-mounted shelving to store books, documents, or decorative items without encroaching on floor space.
4. Open Space and Light
Open spaces and natural light create the illusion of a larger, more inviting environment. Prioritize designs that allow natural light to flow throughout the workspace and maintain an open, airy feel:
Glass Partitions: Instead of solid walls, use glass partitions to create separate zones while still allowing light to travel across the space, making it feel bigger and brighter.
Minimalist Design: Avoid over-cluttering the space with too many decorative elements or heavy furniture. A minimalist design with clean lines and simple, functional pieces can make the area feel larger.
Light Colors and Mirrors: Use light, neutral colors on walls and floors to reflect light and make the space appear more expansive. Adding mirrors can also create a sense of depth in smaller spaces.
5. Optimize Traffic Flow
Careful consideration of traffic flow ensures that employees, customers, or visitors can move easily through the space without obstruction. A well-designed layout should promote efficiency and comfort:
Defined Pathways: Design clear pathways that direct foot traffic smoothly, avoiding cluttered areas or narrow walkways. Ensure that there is enough space between furniture, displays, or workstations for easy movement.
Centralized Common Areas: If your commercial fit-out includes meeting rooms or breakout spaces, position them centrally so that employees can access them without disrupting workstations or other functional areas.
6. Ergonomic and Comfortable Design
Maximizing space isn’t just about layout—it’s also about ensuring that the space is comfortable and conducive to productivity. Ergonomic design should be a priority, especially in commercial office spaces:
Ergonomic Furniture: Invest in comfortable, ergonomic chairs and desks that support good posture and prevent strain, making the workspace more efficient.
Adjustable Furniture: Height-adjustable desks or sit-stand workstations give employees the flexibility to work comfortably in different positions, promoting movement and reducing the risk of fatigue.
Break Zones: Create comfortable, designated spaces for breaks, whether it’s a lounge area, a kitchenette, or a relaxation room. This enhances employee well-being and prevents overcrowding in work areas.
7. Incorporate Technology Seamlessly
Technology plays a crucial role in today’s commercial spaces. Seamlessly integrating technology into your fit-out ensures that your business runs smoothly without cluttering the workspace with wires or equipment:
Wireless Solutions: Use wireless devices and furniture with built-in charging ports to minimize visible cables and maintain a clean, streamlined look.
Smart Storage for Equipment: Design designated spaces to hide technical equipment such as printers, servers, and projectors to keep workspaces neat and functional.
Interactive Meeting Spaces: Equip meeting rooms with the latest tech tools like smartboards, video conferencing systems, and touchless technology to enhance collaboration without taking up extra space.
8. Focus on Branding and Identity
A successful commercial fit-out should reflect your brand’s identity and values while maximizing the functionality of the space. Incorporate branding elements subtly but effectively:
Branded Colors and Logos: Use your brand colors in wall art, accent furniture, or decor items to create a cohesive look that reflects your business identity.
Custom Signage: Incorporate custom signage that showcases your company’s mission or values, adding a personal touch to the space without taking up floor space.
Unique Design Features: Choose unique design elements that resonate with your brand. For example, a tech company might have sleek, modern finishes, while a creative agency might opt for bold colors and eclectic furniture.
9. Work with a Professional Fit-Out Company
Maximizing space in a commercial fit-out requires a keen eye for detail and expert knowledge of design and functionality. Hiring an experienced commercial fit-out company in Melbourne can help ensure that your project is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Applied Interiors can provide tailored solutions that make the most of your space while staying true to your business’s vision.
Conclusion
When planning a commercial fit out Melbourne, optimizing space is key to creating a functional, productive, and aesthetically pleasing environment. By incorporating smart storage solutions, flexible layouts, ergonomic furniture, and seamless technology, you can maximize the potential of your space while ensuring comfort and efficiency for everyone who uses it. Whether you're transforming an office, retail space, or hospitality venue, these tips will help you achieve a successful fit-out that meets your business needs and enhances your brand identity.

A Step-by-Step Move-In Cleaning Checklist for New Beginnings
Moving into a new home is an exciting milestone filled with possibilities and fresh starts. However, before you can settle in and make your new space feel like home, it's essential to tackle the often-overlooked task of move-in cleaning.
A thorough cleaning ensures that your living environment is hygienic and gives you peace of mind as you begin this new chapter. Here’s a comprehensive step-by-step move in cleaning Melbourne checklist to help you start off on the right foot.
Gather Your Cleaning Supplies
Before diving into cleaning, gather all the necessary supplies to streamline the process. Essential items include:
All-purpose cleaner
Glass cleaner
Disinfectant wipes
Microfiber cloths
Broom and dustpan
Mop and bucket
Vacuum cleaner
Sponges and scrub brushes
Trash bags
Duster
Rubber gloves
Having everything ready will save you time and keep you focused on the task at hand.
Create a Cleaning Plan
Tackle cleaning room by room to ensure nothing is overlooked. Prioritise areas that are most important, such as the kitchen and bathrooms, as these spaces typically require more attention. Consider creating a checklist for each room to keep track of your progress.
Start with High-Traffic Areas
Begin your cleaning in high-traffic areas, like the entryway and living room. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including:
Ceiling Fans and Light Fixtures: Use a duster or microfiber cloth to remove dust from ceiling fans and light fixtures. If they’re particularly dirty, a damp cloth may be necessary.
Walls and Baseboards: Wipe down walls with a damp cloth, paying special attention to corners and baseboards where dust and cobwebs tend to accumulate.
Windows and Doors: Clean windows with a glass cleaner and wipe down door handles with disinfectant wipes.
Focus on the Kitchen
The kitchen is often the heart of the home, making it a top priority for cleaning. Here’s a breakdown of tasks:
Appliances: Wipe down the exterior of all appliances, including the refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Don’t forget to clean inside the microwave and refrigerator as well.
Cabinets and Countertops: Clean cabinet fronts and wipe down countertops with an appropriate cleaner. If your cabinets have been previously used, it’s wise to sanitise them.
Sink: Scrub the sink and faucet thoroughly with a disinfectant cleaner. Remove any buildup or stains for a sparkling finish.
Floors: Sweep and mop the kitchen floor to eliminate dirt and grime.
Tackle the Bathrooms
Next, focus on the bathrooms, which require a thorough cleaning for hygiene reasons:
Toilet: Scrub the toilet bowl with toilet cleaner and a brush. Don’t forget to wipe down the exterior, including the tank and seat.
Shower and Bathtub: Clean the shower walls and bathtub with a suitable cleaner. If there are any signs of mould or mildew, use a mould remover.
Sinks and Vanities: Scrub the sinks and wipe down countertops, ensuring all surfaces are disinfected.
Mirrors: Clean mirrors with glass cleaner for a streak-free shine.
Floors: Sweep and mop bathroom floors, making sure to get into the corners.
Move to the Bedrooms
After addressing move in cleaning Melbourne for the high-traffic areas and bathrooms, move to the bedrooms:
Dust All Surfaces: Dust shelves, dressers, and nightstands. Don’t forget to clean any ceiling fans and light fixtures.
Closets: Wipe down closet shelves and rods. If the previous owners left anything behind, be sure to remove it.
Bedding: If you have new bedding, consider washing it before use. This ensures cleanliness and eliminates any manufacturing residues.
Floors: Vacuum carpets or mop hard floors to complete the room.
Finish with the Laundry Room
Finally, clean the laundry room to ensure it’s ready for use:
Appliances: Wipe down the washer and dryer, removing any lint or dust buildup.
Surfaces: Clean countertops and shelves.
Floors: Sweep and mop the laundry room floor, ensuring it’s spotless.
Final Touches
Once you’ve completed the deep cleaning, consider these final touches:
Air Fresheners: Use air fresheners or essential oils to create a pleasant atmosphere.
Check Air Filters: If applicable, check and replace air filters in your HVAC system to ensure clean air circulation.
Inspect for Repairs: As you clean, keep an eye out for any repairs that might be needed and make a list to address later.
Final Words
A thorough move in cleaning Melbourne checklist sets the stage for a smooth transition into your new home. By following this step-by-step checklist, you can ensure that every nook and cranny is cleaned, providing you with a fresh, welcoming space. Remember, the effort you put into cleaning now will pay off in comfort and hygiene as you settle into your new beginning.

Bond Cleaning Melbourne: Ensuring a Smooth Transition
Bond cleaning, also known as end-of-lease cleaning, is an essential service for renters in Melbourne preparing to move out of a property. This thorough cleaning is crucial for securing the return of your bond and leaving a positive impression on landlords or property managers. Here’s an in-depth look at bond cleaning services in Melbourne, what they entail, and why they are important.
What is Bond Cleaning?
Bond Cleaning Melbourne, involves a comprehensive clean of a rental property at the end of a lease. It ensures that the property is returned in pristine condition, matching its state at the beginning of the lease. This type of cleaning is typically required to receive a full bond refund, which is usually a substantial amount paid upfront when renting a property.
Key Areas Covered in Bond Cleaning
Kitchen: The kitchen is often a focal point of bond cleaning. Services include cleaning appliances (oven, microwave, fridge), countertops, cabinets, sinks, and floors. A deep clean ensures that all grease and grime are removed, and appliances are spotless.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms require meticulous attention. Bond cleaning covers scrubbing tiles, cleaning showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors, and ensuring that all grout and fixtures are free from mold and stains.
Living Areas and Bedrooms: These areas are cleaned thoroughly, including dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, and wiping down walls and windows. Special attention is given to removing any marks or stains from walls and floors.
Floors: All types of flooring, whether carpet, tile, or hardwood, are cleaned. Carpets may be steam cleaned or vacuumed, while tiles and hardwood floors are scrubbed and polished.
Windows and Glass: Clean windows, both inside and out, are crucial. Bond cleaning services include washing glass surfaces and removing any streaks or smudges.
Why Bond Cleaning is Important
Secure Your Bond: One of the primary reasons for bond cleaning is to ensure the return of your security deposit. Landlords and property managers conduct inspections, and a clean property increases the likelihood of a full bond refund.
Professional Standards: Professional bond cleaning services are experienced in meeting the high standards required by property managers. They use specialized equipment and cleaning products to achieve a level of cleanliness that might be challenging to achieve on your own.
Saves Time and Stress: Moving out can be stressful, and bond cleaning is a time-consuming task. Hiring professionals allows you to focus on other aspects of the move while ensuring that the property is cleaned to a high standard.
Choosing a Bond Cleaning Service in Melbourne
When selecting a bond cleaning service in Melbourne, consider the following:
Reputation and Reviews: Look for companies with positive customer reviews and a solid reputation for delivering quality service.
Experience: Choose a service with experience in bond cleaning, as they will be familiar with the specific requirements and expectations of property managers.
Cost and Guarantees: Compare prices and check if the company offers a satisfaction guarantee or re-cleaning service if the property manager finds any issues.
Conclusion
Bond cleaning is a critical step in the moving process, ensuring that you leave your rental property in excellent condition and secure the return of your bond. By choosing a professional bond cleaning service in Melbourne, you can enjoy peace of mind, knowing that your property will be cleaned to the highest standards. Whether you’re moving out of a small apartment or a large house, investing in thorough bond cleaning will make your transition smoother and help you start your new chapter with ease.

I was completely unprepared for the interior of this 1990s 5 bd. 2ba home in Jennapullin, WA, Australia. $499K. The description says it was "painstakingly crafted from the ground up by our visionary client who sought to blend the past with the present." Nah, this is a WTH House.
The realtor says, "Prepare to be captivated as you step into a world where magic and charm intertwine." So we enter. Uhhh. Okay...it's huge, but it does look like a DIY job. There are 14 stunning chandeliers, all sourced from Government House- you can see some of them in the hall.
What is up with the carpeting? It looks like he bought a bunch of area rugs on clearance. Forget the carpet in this house, it's too big for that- just roll it up. The columns are 150 year old dragon columns obtained from Foo Lok Restaurant.
It goes on to say, "the epitome of extraordinary living! If you're tired of cookie-cutter homes and crave a dash of pizzazz, sprinkled with oodles of character, then this property is your dream come true."
I'm speechless. It's gigantic and the ceiling looks like a bowling alley's. But the pressed tin formerly adorned the ceilings of houses and hotels throughout Perth. So, this is the main living area with kitchen. But, why does it look like the decor isn't secure- the ceiling looks to be peeling off. The phoenixes once graced the dining hall of the Hills Street Chinese restaurant.
Look at the proportion of that exhaust hood to the double sized stove. That's a commercial exhaust, but it's way too big. I kind of like the touch of fancy framing around the windows and the large black tiles.
Now, this could've been elegant, but it's grimy looking, not well crafted, and appears to be falling apart in places.
He tried to make an elegant bath, but everything looks so grubby. Of this, the realtor says, "Picture this: fixtures and fittings lovingly sourced from iconic buildings scattered throughout our vibrant State of WA."
So, he fashioned a double sink, but the counter is just a 2"x4" (see the knot in the wood coming thru?) with gold taps in the wall, exposed old pipe, and ornate metal grates on each side. The floor looks like remnants and the panels don't fit flush around the tub.
More pieced area rugs in the primary bedroom. There's some sort of pattern in the floor under those carpets. Maybe it was some kind of sports facility, but apparently he bought the tiles at auction.
Here's the 2nd bath. Mirror looks like it's shimmed up to be flat against the wall. Don't like any of this, with the possible exception of the floor and tub.
He must've gotten some deal on these rugs.
In this 1/2 bath, he fashioned an unusual sink. Clearly, he doesn't understand the concept of a pair of curtains, b/c the windows all look to be adorned with a single stretched panel.
Here's another bedroom with silk curtains that previously hung in the Melbourne Hotel, hangin' like rags. It all just looks like a real hack job, though. He bought nice stuff, but the execution sucks.
He tried, bought some cool architectural salvage, but he just wasn't able to pull it all off. Here's a cute sink, but what's going on underneath?
Even the pool looks DIY with corrugated metal.
10.29 acres.
The property's pretty messy, though.
There's a creek, too. The whole thing really needs work. Maybe a new owner can make something nice out of it, but it will take a lot of money. To me it looks like a knockdown.

Choosing the Right Spot
Selecting the right location for your picture or mirror is crucial. Professionals take into account factors like lighting, room layout, and the size of the artwork to find the perfect spot. Whether you’re working with high ceilings, large walls, or tight spaces, professionals can offer custom solutions that fit your specific needs. They can also advise on the best way to hang items in challenging areas like staircases or hallways.
Preserving Your Walls

They can also advise on the best way to hang items without causing long-term damage, which is especially important for renters.
The Role of Design in Picture Hanging
Picture hanging is not just about getting the placement right; it’s also about understanding design principles. Professionals consider factors like color balance, symmetry, and the relationship between different pieces of artwork. They can help create a gallery wall that tells a story or ensure that a single piece of art stands out in the room.
Picture Hanging for Businesses
In a commercial setting, the way you display artwork can significantly impact the perception of your business. Whether it’s an office, restaurant, or retail space, the right artwork can enhance your brand and create a welcoming environment for clients and customers. The Cost of Professional Picture Hanging
While the cost of professional picture hanging services can vary, it’s an investment that pays off in the long run.
