Pink Roses

Time is deserving. I should’ve listened more.

Today, nothing was wrong, and that was so wrong.

Pink roses, flowing waters which were so unforgiving. The jealousy I felt. Seeing a free, careless flow. For miles, I walked around the park, hoping to get a glimpse. Your car. Maybe you. But for miles, I saw no sign. Just a memory of a moment shared, and conversations saved in my heart. It hit me like a wave, ready to take me away to the unknown, and I would’ve been okay with it. If it meant there was a chance I’d flow back to you. Or meet you in the midst of the current. But only a wonder which will remain as is. We walked, but I walked further. Crossed the bridge, saw the love, experienced a calm, saw the roses, found our bench, felt the breeze against my honey skin. Remembering your caramel complexion, how smooth and pure your skin was. I wish you could’ve felt this breeze. It was like none other I’ve experienced. It caressed me in a way I’ve never felt, but somehow it held a nostalgia. Nostalgia of the times I imagined this feeling, I didn’t want to leave. Miles along, yet this walk couldn’t have felt shorter. I wanted to think of you more. The calm of today was euphoric. The pink roses, became my tipping point. Consumed in beauty, the hyper reality of being here, my tears drew with a purpose. I couldn’t hide them this time. Have you ever experienced something so beautiful? A silent promise, and my tears, were the greatest gift of appreciation I could give. Thank you for the memory, thank you for the roses, thank you for the breeze, thank you for the walk. Thank you for today.

I once found myself wandering around the DUO towers, and something about those cantilevered floors just stops you in your tracks. They extend over the plaza like they're casually resting there, but you sense the engineering precision holding them up.
