WIP Tuesday? Just Go With It...

Today was especially stressful at work. To unwind a bit (I was at maximum high strung earlier), I came home to have a drink and now have a bit of a buzz. This alcohol has fueled all of these ideas in my head and instead of waiting for WIP Wednesday, I decided to move the date to Tuesday ;)

This is another drabble for my Living for the Moments in Between Drabble Series featuring Drake Walker and Sierra Harris (later, Harris-Walker) of The Royal Romance/The Royal Heir.

Drabble #4: The Vow Volume 1.1 (In a very rough form, I know some of this text will change later). Song Accompaniment: Daley, Until the Pain is Gone (Drake and Sierra’s song).

Cause, didn’t I mention

I have nothing but good intentions for you…

But I didn’t when I first met you, despite thinking you were the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I’m normally a man of few words, and the night we met was no exception. Seeing you out of your uniform and in that green dress that accentuated your curves and made your beautiful chocolate skin dazzle in the dark, left me with one phrase, “Wow.” A prince asked you to come out with us that evening. From that, a lord asked you to come to Cordonia. Yet, here you stand at the altar with a commoner. And I am enough for you. I pretended to dislike you because I didn't know initially how to show you that I loved you.

How tall are they? 5’5”

How do they tend to dress? Casually, a simples dress and she’s ready to face her day.

Do they like how they look? Sometimes she wish she could be taller.

Are they an only child or do they have any siblings? She’s a only child.

Are they a morning person or night owl? She’s definitely a night owl.

Are they a cat person or a dog person? A dog person

Got any favourite foods? Spaghetti

How about favourite drinks? Whiskey 

What are their favourite movies/tv shows? Greys Anatomy

Do they have any hidden talents? She can act.

Do they believe in love at first sight? No. She believes love is something you feel with time, when you know the person, the good and bad aspects of them. 

Who is their love interest? Drake Walker

What are they afraid of? Of snakes.

What are their guilty pleasures? Watching series all day.

What was their dream job as a kid? Is it still their dream? She dreamed about being a teacher, but when she grew up she realized what she really wanted was being a doctor, but she couldn’t afford it so she ended up working as waitress.

Have they ever broken a bone? No.

Have they ever been in trouble with the law? No.

She is too kind with everyone, which can be seeing as fake.

She already won the lottery, too bad it was a small prize.

A Moment’s Thought

Spoiler - Discusses ending of ILB.

Ever thought how the final chapter ended up with Imogen at 95 nerve? The 5 nerve she lost when she saw her mother die in front of her? 

Even after months in the final chapter she is at 95 nerve - she didn’t recover, and maybe she never will. There will always be that hole of 5% in her heart because sometimes some memories scar you for life.

Sunday Six(ish)

From part two of Chapter 52: Tender Mercy of One Handsome Devil coming Monday.

Harmonie gives Drake a quick full body assessment before she drops into step beside him. He looked a little fresher than when he arrived a few hours ago, but he still carried a haggard and hollow look around the eyes. She'd seen it so many times in the faces of worried parents and spouses of terminally ill patients. When he speaks to her in a quiet tone, her heart goes out to him.

"So I don't think we've met, your name is?" He says.

"Harmonie Granger," she says.

Drake shoves his hands into his pockets, adjusting his gait to her walking pace, nodding. "Drake Walker."

Harmonie pushes the door open for the lounge, standing aside to let him pass. She had to suppress a gasp as he brushed past her. Even in his wounded emotional state he still had a presence about him. A dark magnetism that drew you in. She wondered if he was aware of it. It cracked through his shy awkward facade whenever he smiled.

Author’s Note/Disclaimer: This one-shot is set in the same universe as my Living for the Moments in Between series (available on my Masterlist) featuring Drake Walker and Sierra Harris-Walker. I am toying with the idea of turning this into its own drabble series - let me know what you think! I am also submitting this (although, delayed) for Day #15 of the Choices July Challenge 2019 with the prompt of “Friendship”

All characters (with the exception of Sierra) are from The Royal Romance Choices series and belong to Pixelberry.

"You disgrace a Nevrakis when you attempt to play me for a fool.”

Feeling discomfort about the possible subject matter, Sierra continues to stare straight ahead while shifting her body on the wall slightly to the right, both to make room for and to move away from Olivia. "What are you talking about?"

"Again, I am no fool.” Liv releases an exasperated breath and moves closer to Sierra, leaning in to whisper in her ear. “When are you going to tell Drake that you have feelings for him?"

“I do- ”

“The other end of that statement better be, ‘do have feelings for him’.”

“Before I was so rudely interrupted, I was going to tell you that I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Sierra, you have already used that line. You have shown me that I should be able to expect more from you than the other ladies at court. I may - dare I say it - be growing to respect you. All of this will be thrown out of the window if you cannot be honest with me.”

Releasing the tension in her shoulders brought about by the conversation, Sierra turns to face Olivia and takes a deep breath. “FINE, Duchess. I have feelings for Drake Walker. I feellike he is a huge pain in my ass, similar to how I feel about you at this exact moment. Is that the confession you were looking for?”

"Being and remaining stubborn will ensure you miss out on opportunities in life."

Sierra's eyebrows perk up at that response and a gloating smile forms on her face. "Ohhhhh, so is that why you haven't told Liam how you feel? Because you want to miss out on opportunities?"

"Liam knows how I feel." Liv coolly replies.

"Does he?" Sierra looks Olivia directly in her emerald green eyes. "And I promise I'm not trying to be funny with that question. You hide your emotions behind so much snark and sass and yet, you are just as much of a marshmallow on the inside as Drake is. Sure, you and Liam have a long-standing friendship, but he is not aware of the extent of your true feelings for him, Olivia. If anyone needs to be honest, it's you, Duchess."

"Addressing me by my formal title only shows me the respect I deserve, unlike how you have conducted yourself in this conversation. I saw you two."

"Saw Drake and I do what? We are both at the UN Party, of course you would see us."

"I saw you and Drake kiss as you returned back to your hotel room from whatever outing the two of you were on before you came to the party. Care to share the kind of feelings that would lead to you kissing a man that you find to be a pain in your ass?"

Sierra moves her hands to her lips, still swollen from the kiss, mind taking her back to that moment when Drake's lips met hers for the second - but hopefully not the last - time.

"Thinking about that kiss, are we?" Olivia's smug smile breaks Sierra from her thoughts.

"You saw us kiss. So, what? Sometimes kisses just occur in - "

"My GOD, Sierra." Olivia interrupts. "Everyone EXCEPT for the two of you can see how you feel about each other. Even now as you have been standing here with me, your eyes have been locked on Drake at the bar. Soon, this Tariq business will be resolved and you will be free to be with him out in the open. Don't you want that? I know I do with Liam. If you do, you have to be honest. With me, with Drake, but more importantly, with yourself."

"Dammit, Olivia. You just had to be observant."

"It's a gift." Olivia shrugs.

"You're right, alright?! I have feelings for Drake."

"Took you long enough to admit it. You two deserve each other, you are just as stubborn as he is."

"I guess we will have to make this a trio considering the lack of vulnerability you show to Liam. You need to have that conversation with him, Olivia. It pains me to admit this, but you are a badass. You deserve good things."

Flustered by the unexpected compliment, Olivia goes to retort but finds that she has been left alone as Sierra has disappeared into the crowd.

-Ok stop it inspector Granger! No, it wasn’t expected, I don’t know if I’m happy with this or not and you don’t need t know who the father is, he broke up with me before I even found out. So if I decide to keep it, it’s my decision.

-Cool, cool, cool, cool.

-OMG I broke you!

Just then the woman lying on the bed rolled on the bed, mumbling Drake’s name in her sleep.

-Is that…? – the woman started realising, finally who that was – Is that Riley? Hana’s Riley? Why were you spooning Hana’s Riley?

Drake’s face turned into a bright red, but he still laughed heartedly.

-Yeah, I mean… yeah.

-Wait! What is she doing here? I think I told you not to bring girls here while I was absent Mister! – Savannah teased.

-Oh, but I didn’t bring her – he looked at Savannah who didn’t quite seem to follow him – she came with the house… Hana had invited her over, just like you’d invited me.

-What?!

-Yeah, our first interaction was while I hit the shower…

-Nak…?

-Mhmmm- he nodded comically.

-Oh Drakey! I’m so sorry! I swear I didn’t know..

-Don’t be. It turned out fine. More than fine actually.

-So, is the Kiara debacle over?

-It was over when I left the States.

With his words Savannah’s face turned white.

-Are you ok? Is it the… -he pointed at her belly.

-No it’s just… I ran into her back at mum’s… she asked about you. She wanted to come visit you here.

Drake’s face fell for a second, but he gained his posture again in a heartbeat.

-So?

-She’s also pregnant Drake.
