Glow Wild is a wonderful outdoor event run by Wakehurst Place each winter. You have a lantern and walk the grounds marvelling at the glowing creatures shining out of the darkness at you. I first went in, I think, 2018 and was absolutely mesmerised. In 2022 it was even better and I could have spent hours watching the stunning sights. I took a lot of wobbly video without really looking away from the reality in front of me. It’s nothing more than a reminder of the experience but it enabled me to recreate the gorgeous deer I fell quite in love with. The almost stained-glass appearance digital art allows for makes it look so much like the original I feel it evokes the memory far better than the dodgy video! I think I used this for a birthday card, but can’t be sure now. Might have been a tag for a present.

Lady Wakehurst Drive closed for resurfacing

MOTORISTS are advised of the upcoming closure of Lady Wakehurst Drive between McKell Avenue and Otford Lookout for road repair and resurfacing work next week. The road will be closed in both directions for four nights between 8pm and 4am, from Sunday, October 8 to Wednesday October 11, weather permitting. Detours will be in place via McKell Avenue, the M1 Princes Motorway and Lawrence Hargrave…

~25/4/2023~ The strange dreams just keep going and going - last night’s seemed to involve getting lost on buses around Edinburgh?! Continued to feel very stressed and overloaded today - I think a lot of it is to do with the Council of Governors meeting yesterday. Had IFR advisory group first thing where we continued to review the policy document - the whole thing is making me feel very pessimistic about my own IFR and not sure how long to keep going with this reviewing the policy thing when I’m starting to think the it’s the whole policy that needs rethinking! Knew I needed to get out after, and was able to between doing a bit of work - got the bus to Wakehurst for a walk, which probably helped, but not as much as we would like - feel so dysregulated and overstimulated. Did some work in the cafe there before getting the bus home. Was supposed to have a rescheduled appointment in the afternoon but they got in touch and shared very honestly they’re not feeling in the right place to engage with peer support - seeing more and more in my work that people are falling through the cracks between services and going under the radar :( Mainly had admin stuff to do in the afternoon, which I didn’t feel I was making much headway with - was mainly emailing people to ask for adjustments/alternative accommodations for practical sessions for mandatory training I need to renew - the dr who diagnosed me with ADHD and tics was right - my life does come with a lot of admin :/ Also emailed governor people about need for reasonable adjustments for me to access my governor role, but it’s sort of like - where do I even start because the whole culture is so far away from being remotely accessible to me - also explained that I am strongly considering standing down as a result of this. Then got a very unclear and frustrating email from the solicitors I contacted about uni case - one minute they were telling me their fees, then saying they wouldn’t be able to assist me by the deadline, then telling me I needed to find another law firm who could issue a protective order by Friday - I had sent them a load of information upon their request, but they hadn’t even answered my main (continued..) — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/x27kjpm

~2/1/2022~ Despite seeming to have seen off the most recent MCAS flare, I still felt very foggy waking up - think I’ve got to sort out this going to bed late pattern I’ve got into. New year meant fresh bed sheets for me, which H helped me with when she arrived - the flat also needed a good clean and tidy. It was very much a day of catching up on things and running errands. I needed to go out to do a food shop, so decided to go to the big sainsburys in Crawley as they have a good homeware section to look around as well. We had lunch in McDs first. It wasn’t too manic in the supermarket, but I think we’re feeling quite fatigued from the festive period and so are sensitive to any extra stimulation - and I was reminded of all the reasons why I don’t like going food shopping with H - she comments on everything we see and buy, and I’ve realised we probably need low stimulation to cope with that environment. H’s driving also seemed a bit crazy at times, which was making us feel on edge - she asked if I was okay and said it was okay for me to pull her up on her driving - she doesn’t mind :/ When I got home, needed to crash a bit so played Sims for an hour or so. But was mindful I hadn’t had much of a walk today so forced myself out just before it got completely dark - felt quite intensely emotional and bogged down on the walk :( - feels like a combination of trauma related stuff from the festive period, fatigue, and feeling overwhelmed about having to get back to things this week, also about not having therapy this week - we seem to be missing it.
