As many of you may know, Calgary is my home, but Toronto is my Hometown. No hating. I have drawn from a great deal of life experience in TDot, to build a wonderful world in CowTown. Where you’re from cannot be denied. In the efforts of bolstering our Calgary Poetry Community, I wish to also facilitate the occasional fusion of a Toronto Poet into the mix, contributing to the ongoing, online collaborations. I’ve affectionately dubbed it: Satellite Spotlight. This Saturday, as part of the Historic Fire Hall #1 Courtyard Summer Performances, in conjunction with The City of Calgary, I’d like to present: The PitBull Poetry PhireHouse Phenomenon 3 Poets will be taking to the mic in the courtyard of Historic Fire Hall #1, in a New York Street Performance style, bringing hot words to this historical piece of Calgary. Youth Poet Sensation, ‘The WordTumbler’, Hailey Hawken will be performing in her FirstFeature and this has truly been awhile in the waiting.
