Wake up to the sound pt two
Richard "Dick" Grayson was on his nightly patrol in Bludhaven. So fair it had been unusually peaceful there given how it usually is. He may even go home early today. As he landed on the cold ground, he noticed something on the ground moving. As he ran to see what it was, he saw it wasn't a what but who.
A young girl to be exact who couldn't be more than 12. Her skin was dark brown, if a bit pale. She has dirty pink, curly hair and wore what seemed to be something out of a dystopian novel, complete with a black hoodie.
"I gotta keep moving. I can't fail now " he heard her mutter that like a mantra. As she ran, he decided to talk to her to find out what was the matter.
As he landed, he gave her a smile. "Okay little girl, what's the problem?" The girl jumped in surprise before she started to run again. It was then that Dick noticed her bleeding at her side. It was that he decided to get her help and fast.

"Is she okay?" Kori asked.
"I hope so, though I am surprised about the fangs. She's probably a meta human from the looks of her. Poor kid must be a runaway"
"Well let's hope she recovers soon. "Roy said. He knew what that felt like as clear as day

"Ugh, my head. Where am I?"
"Titan's Tower. I'm Nightwing and you are" he reached out a hand to shake but she looked at him with glee in her eyes.
"Nightwing, like the Nightwing? The former sidekick to the Batguy, Nightwing?" As she asked, she started to smile more and more. Her eyes expanded as if she was excited. It seemed like she was a fan of his. It was odd she got Bruce's name wrong.
"Uhh, Batman and yes?"
"OH HELL YEAH!*she shouted.* My luck has finally turned around. Those jerks won't know what hit 'em. Now all have to-" it was then she started holding her side in pain.
"Woah kid, slow down please. Now tell me what is your name and who are you talking about?"
"Oh, my name is Mesulia and I have something to ask you?"
"We're listening. But first, tell me about the slash at your side" she looked at it before shrugging.
"Oh this, some jerks tried to kidnap some poor kid so I kicked their butts. One of them got a lucky swing though but I took care of it." I was getting a bit concerned for her. I
"Feisty."
"It's in the blood, Red. While I'm thankful for the save, can you please hear my questions?"
"Lay it on me, Mesu!"
She then looked him straight in the eyes, dead serious. Then she said in a serious tone"What if I told you that Wally West aka Kid Flash is alive and that he is being held captive?"
"Please tell me you aren't joking, kid" he asked but she shook her head. "First of all, how do you know all that?" she shrugged again.
"He told me his name and identity." Her expression never changing as she said that.
"What is the real reason because as far as we know, he's.... gone"
"In this place, yes. But he didn't really die. More like, he got transported to my neck of the woods" she admitted with the same serious tone.
"And what would that be?" He quirked an admittedly disbelieving eyebrow at her.
"Ever heard of Ruttera?"

Here’s a list of times Danny has been spotted by the townspeople as Phantom outside of ghost fights!
1.) Laying down half asleep on a traffic light post, no one saw him fall
2.) Standing outside on the street during a big blizzard sipping what people are guessing was hot cocoa
3.) On the roof of Casper High looking at the sky
4.) In Casper High’s library browsing the outer space section
5.) In the park playing with a ghost puppy, who unfortunately kept turning into a large ghost dog and growling at anyone who tried to come close (it’s worth noting that Phantom kept trying to calm him down and apologizing, with the exception of Maddie, who seemed to make the ghost dog even angrier)
6.) Having a friendly chat with a large ghost wolf in the nearby woods
7.) On the street during a blizzard, waving at a large ghost resembling a yeti and going “Hi, dad! :D”
8.) Asleep on one of those couches in the local library with a book on astrophysics on his chest

Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie hears him. He keeps his eyes closed and just listens- to Steve grumbling to himself when his hair doesn’t sit quite right, who starts to hum and whisper some catchy song. Eddie turns his sleepy gaze onto Steve as he shuffles around their room- watching quietly as he slips on his clothes, his shoes, a simple chain with Eddie’s ring around his neck. A warm, affectionate smile breaks across his face. Before he leaves, Steve glances at what he expects to be a sleeping Eddie, but instead, he’s met with a rasped, ‘Hey.’ Eddie sits himself up, stretches his arm across Steve’s side of the bed, and reaches, fingers wiggling. Steve crosses the room to cradle his face.
Their foreheads press, noses bump, and Steve brushes his fingers across scars and dimples.
He breathes a quiet,
‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.’
Eddie huffs a tired laugh,
‘You know I never mind.’
Because, yeah.
Every morning Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie always hears him.

#ask#non mdzs#My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl#So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume#but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice#and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. isn't it weird how if you get up at 7 or 8, do your work all day, then have free time and go to bed at 11 that's absolutely fine
but if i said i get up at 10, do fun stuff in the morning then work in the evening and go to bed late, i could be called lazy, nevermind that i'm getting just as much or MORE work done as i would in a traditional work day
#ramble#idk if this is a me problem or not#i've tried to do the early rise early bed thing again and again and it just does not work for me doing freelance right now#maybe it's bc i used to work at a bar so i'm more comfortable being active in the evening#i love working at night because there's less going on to distract me#what used to happen is i would get up early then fight executive dysfunction all day saying i couldn't do fun stuff until i did my work#then my will to work would hit at 10pm and i'd be up till 2am anyway#right now my routine is waking up later and playing a game or knitting for an hour or so and then working in the afternoon and evening#something something capitalism and 9-5 and adhd don't go together#this sounds like i'm just making excuses but it works and i'm actually getting shit done and sleeping enough so i don't see the problem#i just figured i'm probably going to sit and do nothing for a few hours in the morning anyway so i might as well give myself permission to

Wake To the sound
If you told Hibisca that she would have to go to another world to save someone she loved, she would ask what you were on but she would do it. So here she was in the old hideout in the middle of the night, planning to do something she doesn't even know will work. But she will try, never underestimate a girl who has something to lose. Especially when that something is someone. As she drew the circle, a sound came from the shadows.
"Who's there!?" The young girl's voice was loud but shaky. Her eyes darted in the dark room, scanning for intruders.
"You sure I can't come with you, kid?" A voice came from the darkness. As the guy stepped out, his signature smiles and white hair was a bit of a comfort to her. "After all, you are a kid literally going to another world alone." Ekko was like a brother to her. He's one of the reasons why she's still kicking along with Wally and Anna. Honestly she would have said yes if she could. But given the stupid requirements she just shock her head.
"You aren't a mage Ekko"she pointed out with what she hoped wasn't a sigh. " you're one heck of an inventor, one of the best but a mage you are not. And since the creator charmed to only work for folks with human blood, I'm it. Thankfully me being half human is enough"
Hibisca was trying to push the fear down but it wasn't working. She wanted to be like her heroes so she can't wimp out now. "Besides the Firelights need their leader and the fuzz ball more than they need me. Plus, how hard can it be" her tone wasn't as confident as she hoped it would sound, more hesitant and unsure.
Ekko hands her yoyo "I'm sorry I can't help". He looked at her like she was a kid, which to be fair she was but it still hurt. "I'll at least get you some things for for the journey"
"Don't need it Ekko-"
"Yes you do kid" Ekko handed her a bag. It had flowers in it. "For your paints" She smirked at the comment.
She nodded. "Well here goes.... everything". As she finished the rune, the lines started to glow a bright white. The glow became brighter until it became a portal. The vortex shorn blue and white.
"Think it'll actually lead you to the guys he talked about?"
"It better. Otherwise that dumb spell would have been a waste of money and the seller will get it."
Hibisca leaped in, holding her breath as she did.
