Kaku propaganda:

He's a black ops government assassin who can transform into a giraffe or a human-giraffe hybrid that is really angular for some reason. He fights using two swords and wind blades shot from his feet, but giraffes have four feet, so he can shoot wind blades from all four limbs. He can also become a cube. And suck in his neck to fire his head forward like a cannon, his nose like a square-shaped cannonball. Or suck in his neck to make his legs longer, like a pasta machine.

Boy can turn into both a straight-up giraffe and a swordfighting giraffe-man hybrid. He's also got pretty giraffe eyelashes even in his human form.

Kaku turns into a giraffe-human by being ordered to eat a devil fruit by his boss, and the first thing this man does is hop on the giraffe propaganda train, no hesitation. His collegues are wolfs and leopards. Does Kaku mope about being a giraffe? No! He literally holds a whole speech explaining why giraffes are both dope, cool and the most lethal animal on the savanna. Then proceeds to unleash the limitless destructive power of the giraffe. Kaku is the no. 1 giraffe character, hands down, no competition, I will die on this hill, give me 1000 dollars.

Kirin/ The Giraffe Propaganda:

Voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda, he oversees the lesbian drama student tournament arc that makes up the plot of the anime.

Revue Starlight for the ask game!

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! Revue is 1 of my 2 biggest comfort series and I don't talk about it enough!!

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Nana. Definitely Nana. I already am weak for lonely, big sister-type characters (to nobody's surprise) but after her backstory? WOW. She is so mentally ill (/pos) and I adore her.

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): Karen immediately comes to mind as so squishable and cuddly and I'm gonna tackle her with affection. She works so hard! She struggles but she overcomes! She probably needs a nap! She's gonna fight a giraffe!

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Futaba feels so underrated to me! She is loyal and tough, and her growth into self-confidence is delightful to watch!!

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): Does Mr. White count? I get so excited every time I see a new piece of merch that Hikari has. I live vicariously through anime girls with a clear special interest.

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Nana definitely hits for "problematic" but let's not forget about Hikari being a self-sacrificing disaster who literally flees halfway across the globe to avoid her crush. Peak theater lesbian. Iconic. I love her.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Kaoruko... teasing the bratty ones is always pretty fun 🫣

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): I want to say I'm sending both Claudine and Maya so they can recreate the revue of souls. but in reality I'm setting the giraffe on fire... again. wakarimasu.

discovered that I'm unable to see a giraffe without expecting it to stare into my soul. A video of a giraffe came on my fyp and I was waiting for a "wakarimasu" and was thoroughly disappointed when it didn't happen

Thoughts on the new Pokemon trailer

-Don’t know if I’ve said this before but I really like the UI, looks very clean

-Wild Terastallized Pokemon are interesting I guess, seems the advantage is knowing for sure what its Tera type is before you catch it so could be handy if you’re hunting for a specific one

-The “Let’s Go” feature may not be entirely new but I do like that we got a good look at it this time, not really a whole lot to say I think it’ll be a fun addition

-Definitely curious what all materials we’ll be finding, sounds like they’ll be specific to at least some Pokemon and that opens some possibilities

-I like that items in the field shine a little, should make them easier to find

-You can interact with your Pokemon while they’re Let’s Going around!

-Okay the mechanic for storming Team Star camps sounds REALLY cool!  Run in guns blazing, fighting off a horde of grunts with multiple members of your team at once?  I fantasized about that exact thing when I got to Po Town in Sun and Moon!  And now it’s REAL?!  It’s a change of pace and I’m SUPER excited for it!

-Okay but why do they keep showing that engine Pokemon yet refusing to acknowledge it??  It looks like at least one of the back wheels is also a related Pokemon…unless…the whole car is a Pokemon???? idk

-Making TMs craftable sounds like a fantastic balance between single vs infinite uses: you can get as many as you want (so you’re free to experiment), you just need to work for each (for those who think infinite use is “too easy” or whatever).  I also love the menu, it shows each move being used so you can find which one you’re searching for at a glance.

-Related, I’m wondering what all we’ll be able to do with League Points

-So, Farigiraf!  I wouldn’t say I’m in love, but it’s a solid design.  Really love that the name is still a palindrome.  Two new abilities, too, blocking priority and getting double berry use both sound neat. (Wakarimasu.)

-I’m interested in trying out the expanded face customization (especially since I’m unimpressed with the base protag designs lol), didn’t spot anything specific in the way of hair but I’m sure I can find something to try.  Now we just need to see if we can get some decent clothes…

-It looks like the profile/ID card still has a lot of options, so I like that.  It’s also cool that you can have your Pokemon in the shot!  Still, the selfie aesthetic <<<< Galar’s League Card aesthetic for me.

-Also I see this is a Pokemon Snap hybrid so that cool I guess

-Okay, picnics!  This feels like what SwSh’s camping wanted to be.  I jumped when I saw the trainer moving around.  I’m…not entirely sure what to think about this being how you get eggs?  I need more information.  The sandwich making could be fun, don’t really have any particularly strong feelings on that one.  This being how you get passive buffs a la O-Powers, though, that intrigues me.

-The prevalence of Raid Battles as a mechanic in modern games has never quite clicked with me, but if the rewards here are akin to those in SwSh I’ll probably do some of them.  It looks like they’ve improved the gameplay, I guess?

-People have also spotted a white mouse thing (looks basic AF) and a green parrot (I love them), also allegedly there’s a spider and something “blocky”?  I can’t find them. (Unless the latter is that rock mushroom thing…I thought it was a building but maybe it is a Pokemon?) Though I DID see one that looked like a baby Armarouge to me, huge if true.

-Oh I guess the official default trainer names are Florian and Juliana?  Honestly I still wish they would go back to naming them after the versions.

-All in all, good trailer!  A bunch of various information highlighted with a surprise Pokemon reveal for impact.  We’re, what, a month and a half out now?  This might be our last big news dump, and if so I think I’m satisfied with the pre-release cycle as a whole.  Not to say I’d turn down more, of course.  I only really want them to stop after Sonic Frontiers releases, since I might not care about Pokemon as much during that 10-day stretch lol.

During their revue of hunting, Nana is trying to get Junna to stop. "All you do is parrot borrowed lines/your star is just a piece of space trash" "you can't take a hold of your star anymore" "it doesn't resonate, I can't feel it, it doesn't reach" "you were dazzling" Nana is beating Junna down to try to get her to stop. But Junna stands tall and refuses to back down. She refuses to play the role Nana has given her. When Junna says "You'll have to try to kill me, Daiba Nana" she's saying that she'll die before she'll give up.

Nana doesn't see Junna for who she is. Nana sees her own idolized version of Junna. A Junna that's strong and caring, but too weak for the lead. When Junna says "You're the one blinded by the light" that's exactly what she means. Junna is breaking free from Nanas grip on her.

I was thinking about revue starlight recently, and I was so glad to see some repping at Animazement 2019 this year, really exciting. Hope to see others in future cons I go to.
