➵ PRIDE best describes Artem, for he takes great pride in everything he does, especially when it comes to work. He would go above and beyond, and would go to great lengths, to ensure that he is always on top of his game. His work is his pride, and his pride is his work, his entire sense of self-worth relies heavily on how well he manages to do his job right.

➵ He has a reputation of having a 99% win rate, so you could imagine how much his pride suffered when he lost in that 1% case. He felt like a failure, like everything that he has worked up to until that point, all of his achievements and success, meant nothing. And for someone, who puts so much value in his career, his success, whose pride mainly stems from his achievements and winning, that really put a dent on not just his pride, but his self worth in general.

➵ Who is he, if not a winner? Who is he, if not the best of the best? Who is he, if he can’t succeed? Would there be any point for his existence if he can’t succeeded, if he can’t become the greatest?

➵ Ultimately, Artem’s pride is his biggest motivator to do better, to be better, but it’s also what eats him up inside, it’s what pushes him over the edge, to the point that it’s hurting him.

➵ Green is the color of ENVY, and that perfectly describes Vyn to a T. Don't get him wrong though, he is not envious of someone having more money, fame, status, or materialistic items than him, far from it actually. Vyn's envy is rooted in seeing people, who have a more full filing happier life than him, especially if they are less fortunate than him.

➵ Of course, as a psychologist expert, he bares no ill well towards people who have it better than him, and on the contrary, he should be happy for those people given his profession. But yet no matter how much he tries not to, he can't help but feel envious of those people, like he resented them for having a life that he fought so hard to obtain, yet it came so natural to them.

➵ His jealousy and envy is one of the reasons why he's so meticulous with his words, never letting anyone ever get too close, for fear that he might uncover something, that he might not like.

➵ For someone who is so happy go-lucky, WRATH really does have a strong hold on Luke. But don't get it twisted, Luke is not angry at anyone at particular, more specifically so, his wrath is directed at himself.

➵ He is so angry at himself, for not being strong enough, for not being good enough, for not being smart enough, but most of all, his angry at himself for not being there for you when you needed him the most.

➵ The anger and wrath that he feels is mostly fueled due to his own shortcomings and inadequacies, and how he expresses that anger is by acting so recklessly, throwing himself into danger, sacrificing himself, again and again. He hopes that his self-sacrifice would compensate for all his failures and shortcomings, he hopes that him throwing his life away would make up the fact that he failed to protect you, failed to give you more time, failed...you.

➵ And most of all, he hopes that his self-sacrifice would help lessen the wrath inside his heart, but it never does, in fact, it only seems to ignite it further.

A/N: A lot of people getting sick this time of year. Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

LUKE

You've known him since childhood, you know what he's like when he's sick and that he would hate to be a burden for you. He needs to be caught taking medicine in order to admit that he's not feeling well, otherwise he will push through even if he has a fever. Tries to get through the day with you, then you can go home with him and take care of him. Who knows, maybe you'll be doing that a lot more in the future.

ARTEM

Would rather collapse over his desk than go home when he's not feeling well. If his fever gets really bad he will ask you to get him some medicine to get him through the day, his clients can't be kept waiting. They can actually if it's a state of emergency which his health isn't for him, but it is for you, he can't focus when he's sick. You help him finish up early and after that tell him to lock up and don't come back until he's better.

VYN

Keeps saying he's fine until one day you don't see him and he won't anwser your calls. Getting worried you visit him at home only to find him sick and feverish and with a terrible cold, which is why he didn't answer the phone, he knows he sounds sick. Urging him back into bed you make a quick run to get him medicine and make him something warm to eat. He promises he will make it up to you when he gets better.

MARIUS

Takes care of everyone else's well being but has been known to neglect his own. You've seen him on the verge of collapse more than a few times that day but he keeps insisting that he's fine until he actually passes out in his office and you have to drag him to the cough and feed him medicine, mouth to mouth. He has enough strength to tease you about it too, the audacity. Maybe he's not as sick as he looks.

im so sorry but this is worded in a way i find absolutely hilarious omfg. do they cry or do they suck it up til the end of time? KJAHVSJFHAVSLFSFKJA

i like to think they Do cry, but my god it takes a Lot. this goes for All of them. like, we've seen in canon when the nxx boys and rosa cries, and it's usually during/after very high stakes or very emotional situations. some examples off the top of my head are

marius cries in SSR Unconcealable, the card where mc gets KIDNAPPED and then both of them get TRAPPED IN A FREEZER FOR A HOT SEC

mc cries in SSR Peaceful Place because she thought luke got shot and DIED,

luke cries in his Blossom Chapter Personal Story 4 because he thought mc DROWNED AND DIED

artem cries in SSR Two Hearts as one because he got so emotional acting like he was choking mc

vyn cries in...well, several cards like SR False Tears and SSR Neon Melody but those were 1) not exactly a "healthy" way of dealing with emotions or 2) caused by pepper spray KJHVSKJDF. im behind on vyn's cards, idk in which ones he cries honestly due to genuine in distress

so like, they DO cry. but it seems to take rather a lot to get them there. the flipside is that they also cry when overcome with immensely positive emotion (like, mc was on the verge of tears when luke finally proposed in SSR Orange Scent) so at least theres that!!!! but it's not much, chief....

all members of the nxx team all are IMMENSELY repressed. i think the most emotionally healthy of the team is DAVIS, which isnt a good sign, given that hes not even human

here are some misc headcanons on the nxx team and crying

i hc that luke as a kid was Such a crybaby. he'd cry over everything: when he saw a sad movie, when he saw a happy movie, when he saw a dog being walked but the dog was so dang small, when mc cries and his high empathy kicks in to make it Our Cry Session, just...he cried over IT ALL. he was just a very emotionally sensitive child, even to emotions from others. he eventually got emotionally steadier as he grew up but i think there are innocuous movies that, due to him crying over them as a kid, still make luke cry as an adult

vyn has mastered crying on cue and can do it at the drop of a hat, but when he REALLY TRULY ACTUALLY is hit by the genuine need to cry for any reason, be it positive or negative, he cannot stop it at all until its run its natural course.

which is just AGONIZING for him, surely, but this is the price he has to pay for the power of being able to cry on command: not be able to stop when it's for realsies

so via his Entire Life Of Repressing Weakness And Related Emotions, he became rlly powerful at holding back the need to cry. it only happens during VERY EMOTIONALLY INTENSE scenarios ORRRR

Your cheerful and carefree nature is what draws Marius to you in the first place.

He's constantly under stress. Whether it's school, tutoring, Z, or Pax, he always has some project pending and is subject to intense scrutiny.

You're a breath of fresh air from stuffy old men. You smile, you laugh, you play. He wants some of that l joy back in his life.

Unfortunately, trauma knows trauma. The more time he spends with you, the more he picks up on eccentricities that... don't quite line up with "innocence" the way he imagines it.

He understands the value of secrets and how they can protect others. He's had to keep secrets to protect his family, the company, reputations, wealth, you name it.

But he also wants to work on being more honest with himself, and that means being more honest with his closest friends. He doesn't have many friends, so he wants you to be able able confide in him the same way he can confide in you.

Of course, while he's a bold and bright businessman, he's a timid and inexperienced friend.

In case it wasn't readily apparent, Vyn picks up on your act instantly.

He's a psychiatrist. He doesn't know why you act this way, but he can figure out it's unnatural.

(Not to mention he enjoys card tricks. He's also good at perceiving sleight of hand and other "magic" that involves showing someone what you want them to see, instead of showing them the truth and mechanisms behind the magic.)

Instead of playing games or trying to snoop his way into your secrets, he just observes you.

He's skilled at sitting back and watching, waiting, picking up pieces and fitting them together.

You catch him by surprise, however, when you call him out on his behavior.

"Vyn, am I your patient or your friend?" You pout at him and fold your arms over your chest in a highly exaggerated manner, one that is almost comical in nature. You shift back into chuckles and spin around as you wait for his answer.

Your one moment of frustration could easily be brushed off as a joke, but Vyn hears there is actual hurt in your words.

"You are... quite the anomaly," he replies at last. "You wear both the masks of comedy and tragedy. I couldn't help but wonder which was your real face." He leans closer and whispers, "I want to see my friend's true face, beneath all the masks and pretenses. Is that so wrong, dear?"

A/N: Hello everyone, I'm back! College got me all busy but I found time to finish some request! Which means I'm somehow back.

How would Artem and Vyn react to their partner giving them a bouquet

Artem Wing

“Whew!” You swept the sweat away from your forehead, looking at the final product, the four flowers are wrapped nicely in brown craft paper, a thin white ribbon knotted nicely, you wrote on a small card “Remember to always take a break and rest, I love you Artem!” and placed it on the ribbon. 

The doorbell rang, Artem stopped at his paperwork to answer the door. Artem made his way door to door and unlocked it, revealing it to be you smiling with a large but beautiful bouquet in your arms, Artem tilted his head, wondering why you were carrying a bouquet.

“Did I miss something? Or is there a special day that you didn’t tell me about?” Artem’s expression turned into slight panic as he wondered on what day it was. You gently nudged the bouquet towards his broad chest, signaling that he should accept the gift already so the awkwardness won’t continue to prolong in the atmosphere. 

Artem reluctantly reached out to the bouquet, bringing the bundles of flowers near to his nose and softly inhaling the light fragrance that each offered. “Thank you, Y/N. It’s beautiful, although I am slightly embarrassed since it should be the other way around.” Artem sheepishly rubbed the back of his nape with one hand, averting his gaze away, accompanied with a small rosy blush and shy smile. 

“There’s no need to! Plus, allow me to spoil you from time to time, you also deserve some flowers too.” You reassured Artem with a lighthearted laugh, playfully smacking the broad shoulder of the senior attorney, which soon led him into plastering an wider smile, one that symbolizes peace and joy, just like the bouquet you gave him. 

Vyn Richter

“Ah! Y/N, it’s a pleasure to see you again. What brings you here to my humble abode?” Vyn’s amber eyes light up in surprise, his expression softens with delight, a soft smile plastered on the corner of his face, gracing you in his presence. 

“I bought you some flowers.” You shyly handed him the carefully handcrafted bouquet, it had his favorite floral plants but one thing caught his eye. A singular Edelweiss, right in the middle of the centerpiece, a native flower that belonged to his homeland, Svart. Suddenly, a small card flew down to the porch of Vyn’s mansion, his eyes following the tiny piece of paper. He took a few steps and picked up the letter, it read “Thanks for the free dinner! :).” Vyn let out a soft chuckle, “Oh, you don’t have to, Y/N. It was my pleasure having you as my date,” he responded, causing your cheeks to form a reddish blush across your face, leaving you flustered. 

“Come inside, my lady, either of us wants you to catch a cold, and while at it, would you like me to prepare me a hot cup of tea?” Vyn invited, holding your hand and kissing the back of your hands, which further infuriates your blush. “Of course but you have to stop teasing me here,” you playfully pout your lips, eyes glinting with mischief and enjoyment as you enter his estate. 

As you sit down at one of his sage green plush armchairs, Vyn prepares your favorite tea, making sure that it is made to fit your preferences. Occasionally, he would throw a glance at the bouquet you gave him, he wondered if you knew the meaning of Edelweiss and the legend it has in Svart.

artem: sneezes the Loud Dad Sneeze. he is the disruptive sneezer, the nuclear explosion. he is sneezing like how a lion roars deeply to establish its territory lines, except artem isnt a literal lion and does not do this on purpose. his sneezes are LOUD. the type of loud that makes people want to ask artem if hes okay afterwards cuz it's so loud it seemed like it dislodged a rib or something. it's immensely comical, given artem's usual quiet nature, that his sneezes are a force of nature. he could sneeze in his office and people all the way over in the pantry would hear it. he is, and i cannot stress this enough, so fucking embarrassed about it.

marius: the sneeze that keeps wanting to happen but Doesnt happen. you know, the cliffhanger sneeze, the sneezes that are like "ah...aaAAAHH...AAAAAAAHH—" and then the resulting "choo" doesnt happen. and this Not Happening just Keeps Happening. it's agonizing. marius will start a sneeze at 9:55am but the Conclusion Of The Sneeze only happens by 10:03am, once hes already in a meeting with the board of directors. how unsightly, he KNOWS, but the worst part really is the sheer anticipation. what marius would GIVE to have a normal sneeze.

luke: the tiniest kitten sneeze on the planet, and always 6 times consecutively in a row MINIMUM. back during the NSB Days(TM), the fearsome Agent Raven arrived at the training class he handles with a slight cold, saying he'll just monitor and teach and give pointers while socially distanced. the trainees were so scared cuz "wow, hes still coming in even when hes sick, how TERRIFYINGLY DEDICATED, to be expected from the FEARSOME AGENT RAVEN." and then luke steps back and grabs a piece of tissue, obviously rearing for a sneeze, and the trainees thought "oh i bet his sneeze is the Loud Disruptive one, just like his own scary fighting skills, to be expected from the FEARSOME AGENT RAVE—" and then

it's the smallest, cutest sneeze. one after the other. and another. and another. it was like hearing a squeaky dog toy get squeezed several times vigorously. it was like how you'd assume a pixie sneezes. it was like the sound sprinkles and pink bubbles would make if those could sneeze.

once luke is done with his consecutive sneezes (that, for the life of him, he could not stop) he promptly death-glares at the trainees and they all agree to Never Bring It Up.

but the consecutive kitten sneezes still follow luke through his life and all the way up to, yep, the nxx team being able to witness it

mc: awww, it's been so long since ive seen your cute sneeze!!

luke, nose clogged: it's [sneeze] not cute! [sneeze]

marius: it's so cute, i think my heart is melting

luke: shut [sneeze] up!

marius: AAAWWW, is the big bad agent having some twouble? >:3

Luke: lets the opponent think they have a chance, then pins the opponent down in the blink of an eye. game over [fatality].

Marius: both him and the opponent walk in circles, sizing each other up. he may resort to taunting and/or bluffing to get them off their guard, then land a solid kick to the back of the leg to get them down on the ground. tries not to use his hands but if the fight is emotionally charged, he will come out swinging.

Vyn: the true master of gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss. will try to de-escalate unless he wants to fight and win. makes the opponent take -500 psychic damage and give up of their own volition. however, if the opponent instead goes into desperation mode or a rage from being cornered, vyn will not hesitate to use the tools at his disposal, whether that be an elbow to the solar plexus or a quick step to the side.

Artem: tries his best. has the athletic abilities to run and dodge, but it's hard to guard against a hit you don't see coming. can still throw a person down, given his stature, but he doesn't enjoy it. prefers to de-escalate if possible - it doesn't look good for him to be brawling in the streets, and he takes his reputation fairly seriously to maintain client trust and rapport.

Artem is the least surprised to find out about MC's self-defense skills. After all, he had the advantage of reading that fun fact on their resume.

However, knowing something in the abstract and experiencing it in person are... two vastly different things.

The first time he sees MC use their self-defense is on an NXX mission. Some thug throws a punch and MC deflects it with ease, then manages to grab him and kick him where the sun don't shine.

Artem is extremely impressed. He knows MC is capable and bright, but this is a pleasant surprise to see a more physically inclined skillset of theirs.

He doesn't make weird comments or get nosy. He does, however, start inviting MC over to watch a lot of martial arts movies....

💛 Luke 💛

While Artem was the least surprised, Luke is probably the most surprised.

To say that Luke is "angry" is not quite accurate, but rather he's... disappointed?

In hindsight, he should have figured MC would take some self-defense classes before going to university. Once he left school early, who was going to protect them?

Luke struggles because protecting you is such a major component of his identity and has been ever since childhood.

He sometimes has difficulty seeing MC as an adult and not as the teenager he left behind.

Ultimately he feels better about MC's capabilities once he asks for a demonstration.

He actually ends up asking to spar with them frequently, so both of them can stay sharp and continue making each other better!

💜 Marius 💜

Marius is ecstatic to learn that MC can hold their own and defend themselves in a fight. He's almost too excited.

On the one hand, he's relieved because he feels safer knowing he can't be with them 24/7. Marius knows that being too close to someone with his fortune and status can be dangerous, and MC already turned down his offer to have a constant bodyguard.

On the other hand... he keeps asking them to demonstrate. Over and over. He's practically begging to see new techniques all the time.

MC doesn't think much of his curiosity until they try a move on him. Then they realize exactly what Marius wanted.

Marius von Hagen, why are you like this?

They end up training together as well, because Marius wants some moves that rely on wit and agility instead of strength. He's very tall, but he's not a muscle man, and he can never predict when someone might try to attack him.

💚 Vyn 💚

Vyn also isn't too surprised, as he read the documents that Artem sent over before vetting MC for the NXX.

But just like Artem, Vyn finds that seeing MC firsthand is quite different from reading about their capabilities on paper.

He's impressed by the grace with which MC moves, even when striking or blocking forcefully.

After all, Vyn comes from a background where he probably only saw physical fighting as a show of power or to beat others into submission, only to gain an upper hand or as blackmail.

To see MC use their skills to protect and defend? It's a beautiful thing for Vyn.

But Vyn also takes nothing at face value, and so he gets a tad nosy.

He can't help but ask what inspired MC to learn self-defense, at what age, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
