The Nordic’/s Tattoos + Reasoning

Norway - Vegvisir on his back. It was his first tattoo that he had gotten during his time as a Viking. He knew his way around the land and on sea better than Sweden and Denmark.

Sweden - Odins Ravens, Huginn and Muninn on his shoulders coming towards the center of his chest. They symbolize Thought and Memory respectively, which fits his stoic demeanor. These are recent as it took a lot of convincing to to.

Denmark - Aegishjalmur (Top Pic) on his left shoulder. Denmark actually got this more recently, unlike Norway. He also has a Vulknut (Bottom Pic) on his right shoulder. This is something from his Viking days.

Finland - Hannunvaakuna on....his butt. Yeah he was drunk and Denmark managed to tattoo this onto Finland’s ass. Let’s just say he’s grown to like it.

Iceland - Iceland has the same neck tattoos as Atreus from God Of War (2018). Norway had given it when he was really young. It translates to Calm Mind, which is ironic considering he has quite the temper (although it’s not a ‘sickness’ like it is for Atreus)

Greenland (My OC) - She’s not allowed any permanent tattoos. It’s one of the few rules Denmark has for her. She’s allowed the temporary tattoos but one day she’d like to have a small tattoo on her shoulder.

Damian Davis was born late November to Abigail and Christian Davis. He had a remarkably normal .childhood, with two very loving parents. His father is a lawyer and his mother was an interior decorator.

Things began to change when Damian turned 9,his parents decided to divorce. It was an amicable split and they rather quickly and with little pain came to the decision that Damian would live with his mother, and spend weekends and holidays with his father. This arrangement worked well until his mother got a new boyfriend.

The new boyfriend was a stockbroker and an alcoholic. While at first he seemed charming and solid enough to be introduced to Damian, his facade quickly dropped. His alcoholic tendencies and his anger issues came through. He started abusing both Damian and Abigail.

This abuse continued for roughly 5 years, and Damian never said anything to anyone. Everyone always said what a lovely man the boyfriend was, he thought no one would belief him. And worse still, he thought even if they do believe him he boyfriend might then hurt his mother even more.

When Damian was 14 the boyfriend got really drunk, and he came home angry yelling and pushing around Abigail. Damian didn’t want deal with it anymore so he tried to fight back, he pushed him off of her and even punched him. Then the boyfriend started beating up Damian and Abigail tried to pull the boyfriend off of him. In the commotion the boyfriend shoved her and she fell over, splitting her head on the heater. It was clear that she was dead and in a moment of panic the boyfriend let go, and Damian ran.

After that the boyfriend was sent to prison and Damian went and lived with his father. That year was rough and he ended up failing school and being held back. It was because he couldn’t grasp the concepts, he was actually rather smart and often played dumber or average to avoid attention

A couple months after graduating high school his father was offered a job promotion in New York and Damian went with him. While in New York he became a police officer. He wanted to be able to help people who seemed like they had no hope. He wanted to be able to stop situations like the one he had been in. He’s now been in New York for 10 years.

This is a Vulknut which is an Old Norse symbol that is often attributed to Odin. Its specific meaning has been lost to time but speculations about its meaning include correspondence with the 9 realms, a channeling symbol due to its cone shapes, and interconnectedness of reality.

Although the Vulknut has been considered to be in the design of Borromean rings, but the Vulknut is its own thing with its own role in modern Heathenry.
