VtM Secret Santa Writers 2024

IT'S ON!! We have enough interest to get this party started (last I counted was 73.9% out of 46 votes). A massive thank you to everyone!

This will be the first VtM Secret Santa event for all aspiring writers in our community—yes, I see you, and I hear you! In the spirit of giving, we will exchange pieces of writing of our favorite canon characters in the VtM universe, with reader-insert or not, and have some festive fun together.

Guidelines

Open to writers of ALL SKILL LEVELS!

No AI-generated content.

No hate speech, bigotry, or discrimination.

Word count between 500-2000. Short story, prose, flash fiction, and the like are accepted. If you want to submit something outside of this limit, i.e. poetry with less words, please DM me.

Friendly reminders will be sent out to complete your gift in time!

Timeline

Sign ups open from November 5th - 12th.

Secret Santas notified from November 13th - 14th.

Submit your gift by December 21st to porcelainseashore@gmail.com.

Gift delivery by your certified elf (me!) from December 22nd - 23rd.

I participated in the Critter Secret Santa for the fifth (iirc) time this year. Just got my gift today and oh my gosh! Best gift so far! The deluxe edition of the V20 Dark Ages corebook. Was so shocked when I pulled it out of the box and realised what it was.

it has been about a year since i got into vtm and started crafting my very first brainrotting oc. i don't remember the exact date, but i remember who my first vtm mutuals were and how welcoming and kind they have always been.

i started drawing again after several years of putting that aside due to mental health and having little time for it. i remember being very upset with how much my art had regressed, but now ive been working on my secret santa piece and feel a lot of pride in what i'm creating.

i've never been much of a fandom person, but i wholeheartedly appreciate this community and the friends i have made in it.

Hello all! Since there was some interest - I am going to try and put together a little World of Darkness Secret Santa for November - December! I think I will create a place to submit applications, keep it open a week, and then close it to prevent confusion and keep things orderly. The work allotted time would be for a few weeks/month after!

I will happily make a legitimate post closer to the date I'm thinking of, but I think rules are - you provide your World of Darkness OC you'd like artwork done for, and submit the appropriate reference materials for them with your application. I think submitting multiple OCs in one application would probably be fine for the receiver to have multiple ideas to pick from - but I wouldn't pressure anybody to draw group portraits unless they so chose to. You would be getting someone else's OC to draw! I think write ups would be amazing but I do know that writing would probably take a lot more planning work - so if you feel like writing that's awesome but I understand that's a little tougher to manage for Secret Santas! You'd probably really have to know the other person's OC.

If anyone wants to help out with some collecting and application management that would be really cool, feel free to message me! I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in collecting multiple applications so if anyone knows of an efficient way to keep track of doing that, I'm all ears!

No rush for anyone to get to work or to apply or anything! It's over a month away for my application date so please continue enjoying your Octobers! I just wanted to give a heads up!

This blog is multi-ship so any characters can be with any characters and most of my OCs are polyamorous ANYWAY. Additionally, I do not have the time nor the energy for "anti vs proship" bullshit. None of my characters are minors and I will not ship them with minors because it makes me uncomfortable. End of.

I'm glad you like the artwork! My storyteller and fellow players get spoiled with my drawings as we play. There are tons of quick sketches between notes about npcs and abyssal plots.
