The Week of Nightmares - how potent were its effects upon you and your flock? Is it a (relatively) distant memory now? Something that weighs upon the mind?

Harrakhty probably would not say it out loud to anyone but Parvati, but the Week of Nightmares truly was exactly that and yes these events still haunt him to this day. That week changed the course of the rest of his existence, for he saw that his earthly gifts - a partner who was his equal and his adoring temple - can be snatched from him in an instant completely without any influence on his part. He had to fight a powerful and crazed Parvati in his Sobek form, and he realized he could not kill her at all when he had her in torpor. Thankfully Parvati snapped out of the influence of her grandsire within a few more days, but the damage to the temple and to Harri was done. This night is what made him desire a true lineage - something tangible to share with Parvati and to carry on their legacy and teachings if something were to happen. Funny enough - Nyth's near fatal gunshot wound and Noa's desperation to revive him fell "fortuitously" within the same year as the Week of Nightmares, which meant the Setite Elder was willing to give a young necromancer a chance on her promises... which ended up giving Harri and Parvati their daughter Kahanni, born January 1st 2000. AN AMAZING QUESTION - I'm sorry it took so long to answer and I wish I could've drawn more for it. I skipped a couple of panels so I'm sorry if it's a bit quick!! <3

Really I think I'd describe him more as, department store modern noire. He wears a coat, slack, leather shoes and button up but it's a little disheveled. His clothes are all properly fitted but he's wearing them just wrong enough to throw it off. He looks the part he plays.

Cult of Shalim - What's the worst thing your OC has suffered so far?

So far, that I've written, it would be the discovery that he has been embraced. (At least that he consciously knows he suffered) he's dealt with the supernatural before his embrace. Looking for lost loved ones or looking into why someone 180d in personality. Just to find something got their hands on them. He would try to save them if there was a chance of it, but even he understood that telling people about it would only cause them problems. He didn't think of himself as a hunter. He was just a mortal that knew there were two worlds and burdened himself with walking the line between. But he somehow crossed that line and is one of them now. He doesn't know what or who embraced him and not knowing is driving him mad. Maybe he'd be more ok with being a vampire if he just knew. Or maybe he'd be less ok with it.

Not in the conventional sense - she operates out of her own box, breaking rules where needed. She is a firm believer in the "ends justify the means", but only if she doesn't get caught. But she fiercely upholds the internal traditions passed down through her Serpents of the Light (Cobra) bloodline, reinforced by her sire and her sire's Cobra cell and Sabbat pack. 5) Who is their sire?

Syn's sire is an Elder Cobra (and a former Setite), known online as "Copperhead" who leads a Cobra cell operating as a hacker collective. Copperhead was born long before any modern advances in North Africa and Embraced into the Followers of Set but lost faith in their teachings and split from the Followers, refusing to worship Set as a god and went into exile. After centuries, her paths crossed with a Sabbat pack priest, a Lasombra who introduced her to the teachings of Caine and the Sabbat. There, she met some of the progenitors (also former Setites of the Serpents of the Light, a new group forged under the weight of oppressive colonialism on Caribbean plantations of the New World, particularly on the island of Hispaniola. Today, in modern times, the Serpents of the Light occupy every corner of the globe in every country, Embracing any they deem worthy into their ranks which means being useful in their underground criminal operations. Copperhead leads a Cobra cell as part of a larger Sabbat pack which coordinates with other packs to operate underground criminal enterprises, including a blood (and blood doll) trafficking ring. The cell uses their techniques and skills to hide all digital traces of the pack's cybercriminal operations.

While still human, Syn was a no-name, operating under the guise of a "male" hacker (i.e. using male names/aliases/handles) who frequented Dark Web forums finding ways to make money using her programming skills she picked up as a compsci student dropout. She was prized for tools, in particular, her botnet which she licensed out for other cybercriminals to use. That's what caught the eye of Copperhead.

Impressed with her work, she approached Syn online and recruited her for a new project, promising she'd be well paid. For over a year Syn worked, writing malware and specific exploits, and deploying her custom botnet which enjoyed widespread use.

And she was never compromised until she finally was.

Copperhead got wind of a comms breach with law enforcement/gov authorities as a likely culprit and sent a warning to stand down and 'go dark'.

After months lying low off the grid and silence from her online contacts, Copperhead reached out to meet her in-person reward her with a gift and a promise that she would never get caught again.

That night, Syn was Embraced in the throes of Ecstasy, simultaneously horrific and beyond orgasmic.

Syn's Embrace by Copperhead (who was an advanced adherent of the Path of Ecstasy) was extremely physically pleasurable, beyond mortal limits, but it shattered her emotionally and mentally, destroying her iron-clad guard which shielded her from the toxic denizens of the criminal underground, most with sociopathic and psychotic tendencies. This stripping of her emotional/mental fortitude allowed her sire to remake her in her image as a fledgling member of the SoL bloodline into which she was Embraced.

No, Syn is too emotionally bonded to her sire engendering an unbreakable loyalty (also known in SoL). Syn is staunchly loyal to her sire's cell members (also childer of her sire). This tight bond enables them to operate as a cohesive formidable backbone of the Sabbat pack they're a part of and of which Copperhead also leads as Ductus.

Other members of their pack consist of other antitribu clans in addition to a Lasombra presiding as pack priest who ensures the pack is in good standing with their domain's ArchBishop.

"Oh! No, no I haven't been back to Galway for a very long time. I had to leave it behind as I think a great many of us do. To be honest the last time I was there, it had changed so much that I think the last of the buildings I recognized had been knocked down." He gives a small smile. "I traveled quite a bit in my younger years, mostly through Europe looking to understand what we are, what it meant. I discovered the Noddists then and would consider myself a scholar on the subject. Now I'm quite comfortably living in London and have been for the past, oh... seventy years? Give or take."

"A small neighborhood, technically. I suppose you could call them my 'flock' if we were being especially zealous but not all of them attend my services at St Judes Church. Otherwise no, no one specific. My haven is mostly protected by wards."

Mikhail is clearly very uncomfortable with this question though does a good job hiding it for the most part. His preferred 'prey' is other Kindred but it is a point of shame he rarely speaks about that was born the night of his embrace. His sire, whom he never even learned the name of, commanded him to diablarise them and Mikhail - freshly Embraced, ravenous and powerless to disobey, did so immediately. He has long theorized that this is what lead to his particular 'addiction' and craving for Kindred blood over human.

82: What motivates you? 

"Oh that's a very simple answer. I have people I care a great deal for and need to look after, as they have done for me. There is also the matter of understanding what I saw the night of my Embrace, what we are as Kindred, Gehenna, so many mysteries still yet to unravel."

what was Soledad like before she met Julian? :3c has she changed a lot since her Embrace? if she could give advice to her past self, what would Sol say?

hi wiz <3 thank you so much for asking about sol and im sorry this one took me a while! some of this is CRINGE but im free

Sol was a pretty normal kid growing up in most ways, easy-going and lively and maybe a little too mischievous for her own good – not to be purposefully troublesome, just innately craving excitement and too many experiences at once (as much as she tries to dampen that down later). She has an older brother, Tiago (@/kentuckycaverats asked me more about him but I want to read over a couple things before I publish the ask aghh) that she idolized — they were kids born to Filipino-Mexican immigrants and had moved around several places between Soledad, California and Sierra Vista, Arizona while growing up, and were essentially each other’s entertainment during the multiple interims of not having other close friends. Sol was definitely a little tomboy, probably average-to-low grades in school and eventually would drop out to apprentice under her dad and brother at her dad’s mechanical workshop once they settle permanently in Sierra Vista. This is how she’d end up getting her scar – freak accident with equipment.

The main issues in Sol’s life during her teens and twenties were lack of purpose and direction, which manifested as an excessive restlessness. After her Embrace, it mutated into a sort of mania – like all negative aspects of her new condition simply wouldn’t sink in. A bit of daredevil edge developing here – often would give that impression of someone at a party who is yeah, great company, but also making you nervous about how far they’re taking some things. Julian was a very young sire and he also has a manic energy to him – I think they got carried away more than a few times despite a lot of the lessons he tried to instil. That sounds a bit dark and at times it was, but for ten years it was akin to a bizarre undead honeymoon period. Lots of disconnect – again not fully registering that she was clinically dead and that Julian had killed her. On that note btw, Sol asked for the Kiss. I’m not victim blaming LOL – I know she wouldn’t have realized fully what she was getting into (in fact she was flirting and mostly thought Julian was funny and a little crazy when he slipped up on the vampire thing and rolled with it) — just a part of the backstory fanfic. She was also the one to first initiate intimacy and the blood bond (yet again without taking it seriously, but Julian had only been kindred 5 years longer and I honestly don’t think even he at that time would’ve understood the full extent of the situation they’d find themselves in because of her rampant carelessness either, in his defense lol).

During this period… nothing Sol loved more than cutting Julian’s idealistic prattling short with a suggestive touch and watching his thoughts go off road like the geotracker for a split second. Kisses to slow down or silence; if he’s still trying to put together a sentence afterward, she’d redouble efforts until, for once, he’s the one looking to her wondering what happens next. Intimacy is where dynamics get switched between them, but I don’t think he minds. Julian’s not as physical as Sol is (tbh she is very needy for a kindred but I think even with the sexual desire present, it’s still more of an emotional/comfort thing for her she won’t let go of – she can be intense in that regard) but he is more than happy to go along with anything that’s got her showering him with attention. All fodder for his novels in the meantime :p

In the later 2000s, when he becomes a lot more serious about Changing The World, and after Sol’s diablerie of Aila (which is where things get distant, cold, and honestly kind of spiteful between them for a few months of early 2010), Julian makes use of his crazy ass willpower stat to cut contact and leave — for his vision, for the fact that it had already begun what with an Elder’s essence now present in Sol, and to sever their bond. Man needs full use of his obsessive tendencies to build a tech empire yknow – not having Sol constantly in the back of his mind and her clinging to him. Likewise she has the opportunity to come into her own without that same weight and influence – how he thinks of it at least. He does keep tabs on her during those ten years, making sure she’s alright and staying afloat, sometimes sending work her brother’s way in Sierra Vista too, etc.

Sol is not doing well here and it’s where she changes the most. The separation also initially has Julian a little emotionally ragged due to the nature of the bond, but past the artificial I do think he actually cares deeply about Sol in his own weird way. He believes he’s doing what is the best (frankly only option in his mind) for the sake of the future of the Masquerade with Project 2100; maybe having her be at the center of his work is part of it.

Anyway – out of trauma, Sol develops the bulimia derangement after diablerizing Aila, which strains everythingggg twice over. Despite not getting along at this time, Julian leaving without warning still grossly exacerbates how often it would trigger due to a kaleidoscopic meltdown of too many messy feelings on top of the strain of their bond breaking down over the course of the first year. Really just fucks her up good and hard struggling to get it all under control while figuring out what the fuck she’s going to do with herself. Lots of accidental hunger frenzies, lots of suicidal ideation — there’s this snippet from last year where she’s immediately like boohoo I’m gonna walk into a sunrise (also my fav Julian meme). I imagine she lost humanity during this period until finally getting her shit together as a courier and learning to shut off and distance herself from the intensity of her feelings (while still not giving into the callousness and mindlessness of the Beast).

She doesn’t engage in her predator type as a precaution and instead drinks from bags, which leaves her feeling perpetually unsatisfied and wanting (Sol™), but she pushes that down – goes pro at pushing shit down over the course of the next few years. Selfishly, in her mind, she would rather drain a blood bank than kill someone, which is stupid because she’s hurting more people the other way, but it’s the distance and disconnect. Doesn’t stop guilt from eating away at her when she thinks too hard, but again: push that shit down.

And hey, she got the lime green geotracker in the divorce 🥴

For advice, I was thinking for a while because as her mama I wouldn’t want her to look out for herself or heal or anything to change LMAO. Even in character and before her personality 180, Sol had such a restless spirit and was prone to depression and impulse, I don’t think she would’ve lived or chosen to live a long mortal life as it was, or if she did it would not have been fulfilling to her. Unsatisfied as always! As much as she resents Julian for what he did to her in the name of Project 2100, buried way down deep and unbeknownst to herself (maybe she just refuses to acknowledge it…), there’s twisted excitement in being this catalyst – in having purpose. This is why she still subconsciously leans towards Julian’s suggestions during Night Road, and why she keeps the 2100X serum in her veins once infected. Also, she does just love him too 😭

BUUUT, considering all that, I think if Sol knew she would be Embraced and have to leave everything behind, she might advise her younger self to cherish that time she had. Like a lot of teenagers she was distant from her parents, not even out of dislike because her family was very loving. She was very close to her brother Tiago (and that’s one thing that hurt a lot on top of no longer having Julian from 2010-2020 – that she couldn’t simply go home and see her brother; that her heart was broken, that she was dead, and that she was left with no one). She wasn’t as close to her parents and often clashed with what her mother out of differing views and opinions. Mom and Dad worked extremely hard to prop Sol and Tiago up for their futures but of course Sol wouldn’t have cared about that much at the time… so looking back she would appreciate them more — and maybe developing a better relationship with her parents and going along with what her mother wanted for her would’ve changed her request that night she met and got to know Julian. Maybe he would’ve done it anyway.

Her parents are dead by the events of Night Road, so it remains one of her biggest regrets, not saying goodbye. She keeps an heirloom topaz and mahogany rosary and in lonelier moments of confusion or despair or guilt will apologize and pray to/for them. Sol was never as religious as her parents (devout Catholics) wanted growing up and before her Embrace, but with the absolute desolation she felt after things came crashing down and actually processing her situation, she takes comfort in what she watched them take comfort in during her childhood. More than anything I think she is agnostic — but she feels this is her only connection to them, and as silly or futile as it might seem to her sometimes, the only way she can reach out to them after leaving without a word – to keep them with her even after their passing. Her courier alias of Soledad is in part of where she was born, and an homage to her mom and her mom’s reverence for María de la Soledad (which was also a mural painted on her dad’s workshop)… and it works with having the same nickname as her real name: Solona :)

Church of Caine - Does your OC have any religious/ Kindred beliefs?

Nyth was raised Jewish. They went to temple and celebrated the holidays but that's mostly it. It was actually the night of his Bat Mitzvah that the realization of his gender identity really hit him.

Post embrace he didn't take on any other religious ideals but he does consider Kindred an elevated species. He thinks of Kindred as Tolkien Elves compared to mortals. He doesn't think of humans as just animals or blood bags, not that he feels bad for doing what he has to do, but he does think of them as lesser. It's part of how his sire over romanticized vampires to him. Nyth is a big Tolkien fanboy and his sire was like "But what if you could be an elf?" and slowly convinced him kindred were basically just elves that had to have a lil sippy sip from mortals from time to time.

Absolutely! After leaving Las Vegas and accidently killing his sire Nyth decided he wasn't going to be anything for anybody except himself. That's when he took on the name Nythanel, because he wanted to change it to that when he transitioned but his sire talked him down to Nathaniel.

He can be truly himself, like being able to show vulnerability, with Noa. They had been through so much and even when she had the power to make him into whatever she wanted, she went though lengths to bring him back as much as himself as she could. So he has no barriers built up in regards to her.

Nephilim - What pleasures does your OC get out of their (un)life?

Nyth was a lifelike Thinblood before his resurrection. so, any damn pleasure he wanted. It's still kind of there however physical pleasures without vampiric enhancement are dulled since being brought back. So he gets more of a rush from making a break through on a new formulae than he does something like sex anymore. Not that he hasn't experimented with making kindred drugs but after his Ashe addiction not ending well he mostly dives into that as a possible revenue source than for himself. He does like a good party though so he indulges from time to time.

No, not at all! I tend to be long winded when I write, but I think I may have included those answers in the answers to the number questions. But in sum, Syn was recruited online by her sire (who leads a hacker collective made up of Cobra (SoL) cell which is also a part of a larger Sabbat pack). Syn's reputation on the Dark Web and her malware, including her own custom botnet caught the attention of her sire who saw her as being incredibly useful for her Cobra cell. Syn wasn't fully initiated into the full knowledge of her sire's criminal enterprise until she was Embraced. Syn is staunchly loyal to the Serpents of the Light, her sire and her Cobra cell as well as to her Sabbat pack due to the nature of her Embrace into the Serpents of the Light.

3 - Vampires wake up looking the same way like when they died every night.

Veronica wakes up with tired eyes/eyebags, her short hair is uneven, not a clean buzzcut, her nails are different leinght, some are broken. she also has stubble on her legs and armpits

usually she shaves, fixes her buzzcut or puts on a wig (or both), fix and paint her nails or puts on false nails etc like that

except if she is planning to make herself into a punk character - then she can leave everything as it is, or just add some makeup and nail polish. or if she is in tremendus hurry and can't "beautify" herself - tho she will be super stressed if it happens so, bc of the all that terible weight that most of other toreadors put on her, always demanding to look your best, and bullying/taking advantage of you if you don't match their standarts...

but tbh sometimes she can put make up while she drives... X'D its horrifying but she is horrifingly good driver X)

not many people got to see her "morning" look - she prefers not to show it. her close ones did tho
