Chiefs vs Bills | Kansas City, MO | January 26, 2025
Louis Vuitton 'Monogram Jacquard Knit Jacket' - $5,000.00 Louis Vuitton 'LV Spark Beanie' - $550.00 Steven Battelle 'Ancient Coin Necklace' - price varies Louis Vuitton 'Trunk Chain Wallet' - $2,850.00 Louis Vuitton 'Le Damier de Louis Vuitton Small Ring' - $3,950.00 Louis Vuitton 'Le Damier de Louis Vuitton Medium Bracelet' - $18,500.00 Cartier 'Panthère de Cartier Medium Watch Diamond' - $32,200.00 Louis Vuitton 'LV Medallion Gloves' - $495.00 Calzedonia '50 Denier Tights in Dark Red' - $15.00 Louis Vuitton 'Star Trail Ankle Boot' - $1,760.00
More monogram. Taylor appeared at the AFC Championship game wearing a literal head to toe look (mostly) by Louis Vuitton. Proving that sometimes it does have to be Louis V up in KC.
What I Learned From Those Two Years: Prior to the game I had wondered if last year’s championship outfit might be a playbook (pun intended) for today’s look - knowing that comparisons were bound to happen. I can see the similarities year over year in the oversized top, pleated mini skirt, tights, and boots combination. On the skirt, I’ve been told this is not the same skirt as last year, with thanks to the LV team for the confirmation, and is a slightly older one within the LV catalogue. However, it feels like a close enough of a callback to make the choice seem intentional. Perhaps a way of nodding to superstitions in sport with repeating “lucky” items to bring forth an optimal outcome. Whatever the reason, let’s say that it worked because the Chiefs defeated the Bills 32-29 and are - once again - headed to the Super Bowl.
When We First Met (Gala): But even without the other LV elements of this look, I clocked these boots right away. Why? Because Taylor has a pair of Star Trail boots that she has worn on two other occasions. The first was the night before the 2016 Met Gala. The second was while out to dinner with Travis in October 2023. After a lot of staring, I can confirm this pair of ‘Star Trails’ are an updated version - discernible by the slightly different finish and the cap toe detail being absent. One of Taylor’s style pillars has always been repetition, so I’ll give half points here given it’s a style we know she has in her closet and has repeated in the past. I can imagine this fresh pair from a later collection was meant to coordinate with the rest of the recent LV pulls.
Louis V up in KC: When it came to accessories, Louis Vuitton jewelry and bag felt like natural fits. However, knowing that Taylor has a LV watch in her collection that would have coordinated well with her head to toe (literal) branded ensemble feels noteworthy to me. The accessory that felt like it had the most story behind it was her necklace. Taylor has worn a number of vintage coin necklaces recently, including at a few Chiefs games. What immediately came to my mind was her 2024 season opener outfit which was also styled with a vintage, ancient bronze coin necklace. I imagine that something about it feels like embodying a fighting / warrior mindset to fit in with the “go fight win” of sports and the Gladiator ethos. Or else perhaps even a chic reference to a game day coin toss. I spoke with the designer, Steven, who confirmed that the face depicted on the coin, struck in 109-108BC during the Roman Republic, is the goddess Roma. Steven said, “[Roma] was believed to watch over the city’s citizens and protect them from harm, as well as being a fierce defender of Rome in war.” Steven said the necklace took approximately 1.5 days to create by Balinese goldsmith artisans with traditional handmaking techniqes. “The pendant was designed to highlight the coin and accent it in a classical manner,” he said. From an intentional styling perspective, there’s a lot of thought that goes into creating a cohesive and consistent storyline where every look “speaks” to one another to create a progression, but is distinct enough to stand as its own moment. Small callbacks like this (and the skirt - more on that later) demonstrate that thought well. I look forward to doing a full breakdown of this season’s looks (particularly in comparison to 2023-24’s season) when the final whistle blows. This artist uses real ancient coins in their work so every single piece is unique and different. Pictured above is what appears, to my eye, to be a close match to Taylor’s.

hi! Random question maybe, but you seem very knowledgeable about hockey: there's a post on the PWHL subreddit right now asking about the differences between PWHL and NHL hockey. A lot of people in the comments are saying the skill level in the PWHL is much lower, which to me a weird statement for multiple reasons, but I don't know enough to disagree or agree with certainty. Do you have any thoughts? In general, what do you think are the differences between the style of play in the two leagues right now (other than ofc level of physicality l)?
That is a weird statement, which I'll get into in a second. To me, the biggest differences are such.
Fundamentals. This is not a PWHL-specific statement. It also applies to the WNBA vs. the NBA, and baseball players drafted out of college vs. high school. With truly all the respect and love to my prep school coaches, college is where you learn how to play your sport. You get by on raw talent until you hit the college level (or, for Canadian men's hockey players, the junior level) and then you learn how to actually play. Men are spending 1-2 years in college before leaving for the show. Women do a full 4-5. It's hard to imagine someone like Jason Robertson (who I love) succeeding in the women's game, because he's not a very good pure skater. He got by on his raw offensive ability. If he were coming up through the NCAA, someone like Mark Johnson or Matt Desrosiers would have grabbed him and said, "You're doing extra shifts in the barn until you stop looking like you're drowning out there."
"Then the skill in nhl level is just insane. Passes are perfect, players can handle bouncing pucks easily, and most importantly positioning is excellent - players are almost always where they are supposed to be (because they are big and fast) so zone entry/exit is super smooth.
60 minutes of Flyers hockey would kill this Redditor. I can assure you passes are not perfect and positioning is abysmal in the NHL, because again... these are the fundamentals that players would learn if they weren't plucked out of college/juniors on the basis of their raw, unhoned talent.
Roster construction. This is largely a function of limited roster space. The PWHL has less than 1/4 the positions than the NHL does. In the men's game, each line has a defined role. The first two forward lines are your top scorers, the third line does most of the checking and defensive play, and your fourth O-line is meant to tucker out the opponents' best scorers. The PWHL doesn't really have checking lines, because there aren't really checking specialists. Instead, lines are determined by the whims of the coaches by a combination of seniority and "riding the hot hand" - players who score more get more ice time.
Goaltending. PWHL goalies are smaller than NHL goalies and working with the same size net. Someone like Ivan Fedotov (6'8") can take up more space just by standing there than someone like Emerance Maschmeyer (5'6"). As a result, PWHL goalies tend to be far more mobile, and they start their post-to-post movement early, trying to anticipate where the shot will come from so that they can physically get there and block it.
Speed vs. acceleration. I think the comments about size that people in that thread were mentioning are largely overblown because they forget that everything is relative. It only really counts in two dimensions. The first is in goaltending. The second is in movement. Taller players can cover more ground with each push, which helps with their speed. Smaller players, because they aren't dragging as much weight around the ice with them, can push off from a stop faster, which helps their acceleration. It's why KCS is such a pain in the ass to play against: if she and I are both standing at the starting line, she (5'2", 125 lbs) can take off much faster than I (5'10", 170 lbs) can. I can hope to close the distance by using my strength and stride, but she's got the edge on that first 200 ft. Hey, you know what else is 200 feet? A hockey rink. She beat me to the other end.

Joe seems very guarded and doesn’t open up easily. It’s really adorable how vulnerable he can be around Ja’Marr . I always knew that he really did buy him clothes , but that’s not information Joe wanted to be public yet it’s theirs and it’s a private matter between them God they make me feral 😭
but like. why has ja'marr decided to outright truthful no holds barred say it now in the semi good year of 2024. to us weekly of all things. the headline being "Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase Buys Clothes for Teammate Joe Burrow, Likes Seeing Him Outside ‘Comfort Zone’ (Exclusive)" oh my god. the fuck is that headline. why is it so fucking important that this man buys this man clothes. and talking about liking how he's being shut the fuck uppp. its so random. okay it isn't he's talking about his always open clothing merch and game day fits too but like??? i genuinely thought it'd never be mentioned again you know because the gymnastics he went through saying he doesn't actually buy joe clothes has got to be a different sort of humbling for him but. but 😭
'last year was the first year where I started to buy stuff for him and he would consider to wear it'. boy what do you mean. you first said that shit in 2022. truly mind boggling that he continues the rest of that interview by cementing how long he's been with joe in his life. and wanting joe to talk more. and saying joe's trying to break his own barriers and show himself and how he's trying to help joe do that (why. why does it have to be you. did you put yourself up to this or did joe ask or was it an unasked thing that you know joe wants and expects.). that the attention on joe doesn't surprise him and the writing's confusing to me but i'm guessing he's charmed by the kids taking inspiration out of his bleached buzz (a fucking travesty imo btw like these little 10 yos bleaching their hair their mothers must be frothing at the mouth).
like the sort of matching fits (take it with a grain of salt) these several weeks.....ja'marr mentioned talking about shoes with joe. those week 3 matching shoes hot pink joe vs lime green ja'marr like. was that. was itttt. did they. they couldn't have could they. but they probably did????? mind you this was after that kc game shove ahaha. they both adore bright bursts of color, ja'marr just pairs them with dark and edgy while joe goes for downright fucking psychedelic (or he did before the alo deal sigh) so did ja'marr deliberately get the ones with fun colors for them both (assuming he got them for them both in the first place that is) :((((
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(also crazy delusional idea here assuming ja'marr got these shoes way long before week 3 and this was the week joe's scheduled to wear the pink t-shirt so pairing them with these shoes would make most sense, would he tell jamarr that he's wearing the shoes today so hey we should pair or)
also did joe give the okay to his stylist to go for the chrome hearts because ja'marr has mentioned loving the brand several times and he knew ja'marr would love that shit or. or like did he mention that he wants to try chrome hearts (as a nod to ja'marr's recommended brands) and his stylist found an orange accented fit to tie it in with the bengals colors ahaha. (also justin wore chrome hearts jeans the next week lmao god these three)
man what is with them and dressing up i did not know sports players were this crazy about clothes and jerseys like would you all chill.

I saw you earlier post about the USWNT vs IRL gane and from that I'm making the assumption that you know something about soccer/football teams. With that in mind, what do you think are the girls' favorite clubs?
I got this ask forever ago and again I am so sorry to say I only really know the clubs of the american women's league the NWSL so here's my breakdown on who likes what
Ava likes the Portland Thorns because 1) enjoys winning so she can brag abt it to her gf 2) thinks the team logo is cool. there was so little thought put into her choice but she's probably the least into watching soccer (she prefers to play it herself)
Lilith likes Seattle Reign (but Bee, you say, it's OL Reign now!) (It will still forever be Seattle Reign in my heart) because her dad was a Lyon's fan when he was alive and the Reign are owned by OL now so it's the closest thing she has to his team
Beatrice likes Angel City. yes it started as a goof based on nun things but then she just genuinely became a fan
Camila likes KC Current because I had to make one of these girls like My Team so Camila gets the honor of stanning my real life sports blorbos

Sporting KC vs San José Earthquakes
Hair Man of the Match
Bassong? (SKC) - I'd like to see a better ponytail, but the braids are cute.
Hair Foul Committed
J. Martinez (San Jose) - Bleached tips. Enough said.
Match Notes:
San José player got a red card and I started singing Na Na Na (Hey hey Goodbye) and kiddo said "wait, are the fans singing that too? Is that a Thing?" camera pans to the Cauldron as they serenade the player off the pitch. Yes kiddo, it's A Thing.
St Louis City vs San Diego
Hair Man of the Match
Olof Mellberg (STL) - Is it fair to give it to the manager? The long hair and beard giving very Viking vibes. Kiddo said "He looks like Thor"
Tumblr media
Hair Foul Committed
Marcel Hartel (STL) - I feel like he's going to own this every game unless someone else is more egregious. The weird combed forward look he's got going on is bad enough at the beginning, but as soon as it's soaked through with sweat it's just horrible.
Match Notes:
Bad look for the San Diego supporters though. They got warned twice to stop using discriminatory chants. After two warnings, the next step is the game being suspended. The game was in stoppage time, which is probably why that didn't happen.
Not sure what the chant was, because the broadcast did a good job of muffling it and the commentators pointedly kept talking over it even as the warning was announced.
But this is their First Ever home game and they come into the league with hate speech in the stands.
In better news, Doechii did an MLS advert 😊

[ad_1] Rajat Patidar Elite Group Haryana v Madhya Pradesh At the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s Rajat Patidar crunched a blazing 102-ball 155, but their game versus Haryana ended in a draw. Haryana, however, collected three points on the back of taking the first innings lead of 132. Haryana scored 440 after MP were snuffed out for 308 in their first innings. MP declared their second innings at 308 for 4 while Haryana responded with 115 for 3 in 38 overs. Tripura vs Mumbai On the basis of eking out an innings lead, Mumbai took three points against Tripura in an Elite Group game played in Agartala. Tripura scored 302 in response to Mumbai’s first-innings total of 450. In the second dig, in pursuit of a target of 272, they mustered 48 for no loss as the match ended in a stalemate.  Bihar vs Karnataka Karnataka posted a thumping 8-wicket victory over Bihar in Patna, collecting six points. The victory came on the back of Shreyas Gopal  and Vyshak Vijaykumar bagging seven wickets between them as the opponent folded up for 212 in the second essay. Karnataka then chased down the paltry target of 68 in just over 10 overs. For Bihar, Sakibul Gani cracked a valiant 130.  Jharkhand vs Chandigarh Chandigarh also registered a crushing 10-wicket victory over Jharkhand. Nishunk Birla, Vishu Kashyap and Raj Bawa bagged nine wickets between them, with Jharkhand collapsing to 130 all out. Chandigarh then overhauled the target of 43 in a mere four overs. Tamil Nadu vs Chhattisgarh Vijay Shankar’s undefeated 106 ensured Tamil Nadu salvaged a draw versus Chhattisgarh at Coimbatore. TN, who were made to follow-on after being bundled for 259 in reply to Chhattisgarh’s 500, compiled 264 for 4 in the second innings. Chhattisgarh took home three points on the back of their innings lead. Maharashtra vs Meghalaya Mukesh Choudhary’s four-wicket haul turned out to be the cornerstone of Maharashtra’s 10-wicket victory over Meghalaya in Aurangabad. Pradeep Dadhe and Rajneesh Gurbni also took two scalps apiece. Meghalaya was cleaned up for only 185 in their second innings, with Maharashtra scoring 104 in just under 22 overs.  Rajasthan vs Gujarat Umang Kumar’s undefeated 153 and Jaymeet Patel’s 82 helped Gujarat to not just recover from a precarious position but also take the side to safe waters as they drew their game versus Rajasthan. Gujarat were at 84 for 4 when the duo joined forces. The pair then stitched a stand of 153. Meanwhile, Kukna Ajay Singh took 5 for 107 for Rajasthan. Gujarat bagged three points as they had eked out an innings lead. Plate Group Manipur vs Mizoram KC Cariappa and Mohit Jangra combined to pick up seven wickets between them as Mizoram bowled out Manipur for a mere 246 runs to seal a massive victory by an innings and 20 runs. KC Cariappa also scalped nine wickets in the game. Goa vs Nagaland At one point of time, Nagaland were looking good to chase down the target of 339 against Goa. However, they hurtled down from 175 for 1 to 255 all out, with Goa winning by 83 runs. Darshan Misal took five wickets, with Rahul Mehta picking up a three-for.
