The world of Toramidi

This is my idea for a fantasy world, I hope you like it :)

a world where there are two kinds of people:  Wielders(can use magic but not access it) and a Conduits (can access magic but can not use it)

Conduits can only create magic but not use it while Wielders can use the magic but not create it, a Wielder gets the energy from the conduit.

In environments where magical energy naturally flows, Conduits could tap into natural channels or ley lines and direct the energy towards Wielders. This would require an understanding of the mystical geography of the world and the ability to manipulate these natural flows of magic.

The energy itself is called Vril, and flows through ley lines between the magical poles, the magic is most powerful at the poles but can be pulled from anywhere. 

Vril can be captured by certain plants in a process called vrilosynthisis, the vril is converted into energy for the plants in a way similar to photosynthesis. These plants, the most common of which are blue vine/ley vine and the common vril flower. These plants tend to grow on ley lines or on magical structures, these plants only grow in certain areas due to their hydrophilic nature and the fact that they grow very close to, if not on, ley lines.

The only magical thing that conduits can do is called snapping, where they give somebody a lot of vril all at once by touching them, this can cause third degree burns. Wielders can do this as well, but they need a conduit. Conduits are incapable of more precise techniques such as teleportation or telekinesis. Or anything other than drawing vril and snapping. 

Some well trained conduits are known as mb’sadi, and have the ability to communicate long distances through ley lines.

Young wealthy conduits that are potential mb’sadi are trained in schools, they are taught to be sensitive to vril and able to sense the concentration of vril nearby. They are taught in practical vril theory, as well as telepathy along ley lines and geography. They are also taught martial arts and how to snap for self defence.

A specialized class of wielders also exists, called ir’aldai, they are trained in combat and tactics and can cast spells through a wielder. They are mostly used for shows of force, and rarely meet actual combat.

A vrilin is a spot on the top of the spine where vril flows through the body, hitting it can disrupt use.

The most common martial arts are ir’ornam and mb’ornam, they are two different types of the same tactic, ir’ornam is for wielders, it integrates snapblocking and magical attacks, while mb’ornam if for conduits involves snaps and vrilin hits.

Most royals are wielders and have a royal conduit or a royal mb’sadi come with them. There was an assassination attempt that was stopped because of the fact that in order to kill a wielder, you should probably kill the conduit first. But the royal conduit was actually another wielder, who teleported out of the way of the projectile, while the real royal conduit was in the crowd.

A ceremony exists called ti’alido, this is a wielder and conduit making an agreement to work together.

A nexus is the crossroad of two ley lines, lots of vril in those areas, often meadows of flowers are there.

Vril can cause objects to move abnormally, silver often vibrates while on a ley line for example, and wielders can use telekinesis 

Silver is a very good conductor of vril, silver swords can cast spells during a cut from the hand to the blade. 

The magical poles are mostly inhospitable

The technology is like renaissance/steampunk levels, somewhere around there but with a more naturey, marbled kinda vibe.

I love Hollow World. Deep irony here, because I kind of hate how versions of real world cultures crept into Forgotten Realms, and here I am being all “The Known World, which is a collection of fantasified real world cultures is the best” but taste is weird like that.

Hollow World spins out of the Gazetteers, a popular series of sourcebooks that, practically country by country, detailed pretty much the known entirety of the Known World. Having run out of stuff to cover on the outside, Bruce Heard and Aaron Allston decided that the Known World was hollow and started in on the inside. To my knowledge, this is the first time in RPGs that a hollow planet is investigated, which seems strange considering how large the concept looms in 19th and early 20th century fantasy and science fiction.

There’s all sorts of awesome, pulpy stuff down there (including an interior sun — this ain’t no Underdark). The inside is populated by surface cultures that were on the verge of extinction. Rather than let that happen, the Immortals brought them inside, so you you have fantasy Aztecs and fantasy Egyptians and fantasy Greeks alongside stuff like talking dinosaur gods and pirates and more (and, in a couple years, Alphatians too, after the events of the Wrath of Immortals box, which I covered back in January).

The thing is jam packed, too. Maps of course, a 128-page book for the DM, 64-page book for the players and a 32-pager of adventures. The packaging is half the fun, I love how the covers of all the Hollow World books have the big hollow globe. Something about the lady evokes the idea of Vril energy and all that nonsense. Baxa does a lot of the interior art.

THE CORPSE OF  THE BLACK FLAME STATUS: RECOVERED  [ Reliquary Masterpost ]

A fireproof ossuary containing the skull, fragmented bones, and ash of an adult human male. Despite not having any particular powers, its provenance and history deem it valuable enough to be contained. 

Before one can even properly cover Pope, one must go back to the first Black Flame.

Raimund Diestel was a deserter of the German Army during World War I. Spending his desertion in Bangkok as a drunk, he frequented opium dens, and worked as a guide simply to make ends meet. In the early 1920s, he was recruited by occultist and adventurer Sara Jewell in an expedition to find the temple of The Black Flame. Through misadventure and attempting to save a girl’s life, the cultists revealed that he was the true sacrifice and thus became The Black Flame. A supernatural being of unknown origin (ie neither infernal, ethereal, chthonic, etc), covered entirely in the flame that will render anything to ash. 

Sometime in the early 1930s, the Black Flame would resurface in America, hired by an American gangster for his services. After a scuffle with infamous (and equally interesting) vigilante, The Lobster, Diestel was arrested and kept under lock and key. Upon hearing about the man, the occult-obsessed Adolf Hitler organized a prison break in 1932 in order to free and recruit Diestel into the Nazi fold. Diestel served Hitler loyally until his destruction in  September 1944 facing the United State’s experimental “Sledgehammer”. (See Files 001244519440125 “Project Epithemeus”, and  001244820140312 “Sledgehammer Vril Energy Suit”).

In the following decades, not much is known on what had become of the corpse of Diestel. Sometime the 2000s it came into the possession of Landis Pope, CEO of the Zinco Corporation and a collector of Nazi paraphernalia. At the aid of the frog monsters that spawned from Crab Point, Pope designed, developed, and built a suit of armor with the intent of becoming a vessel of the Black Flame, and successfully completed the ritual. (In truth, this had been part of the frog monsters’ plan to help bring about one of the Odgru Hem back to this plane of existence).

Here it gets murky, Pope clearly lost his humanity, but after recovering internal Zinco R&D records, it appeared they also tried to revive him using one of the Oannes Society’s superhuman bodies (See File #9900279200160320 “Garden of Souls Incident”). Pope was revived and was a shell of his former self, a merciless supernatural being the like Diestel could ever imagine. Taking control of the New York Metropolitan area, he sealed it off and ruled like a god-king, connected to the people in a now city of horrors. (My eema and ma, blessed in memory, were two of his myriad victims.)

After many years of no contact with the city, in a joint operation between the BPRD and the Russian Special Science Services, it was revealed the true extent of what the city had been under. Shortly after an assault on Zinco followed, and was only successful with the join efforts of Special Agent Elizabeth Sherman and the now twice deceased Special Agent Johann Kraus (using the now-recovered Epimetheus suit). 

During a post-operation sweep of the city, what remained of body was very little but recovered nonetheless by me. While originally in the Bureau’s relic storage, it was moved to my personal reliquary.  While I doubt anything will happen, I rather would be safe than sorry.

This goes a little deeper into my friend and I's musings about Coluans.. Completely headcanon with only small roots in comics and other media.

I think Coluans have a slightly higher blood volume and circulatory system density than humans. Inside, they're somewhat symmetrical bilaterally, like us. They have dual-chambered hearts similar to Terran mammals, though they're slightly more symmetrically oriented, and the immediate arteries and veins are laid out differently. Their lungs are visually not much larger than ours, but do have more surface area. They breathe oxygen, and their brain uses most of it.

They're a pseudo-mamillian/near parallel evolution to humans physiologically. Apparently the body plan was effective. They obvs have hair, have warm blood, and the (now rarer) ability to secrete "milk" intended for their young (coluans only have 1 offspring naturally) but in their current society it's not uncommon to gestate young outside of their bodies and even more common to nourish them artificially.

They're sexually dimorphic, mirroring humas to some extent. Female-equivalents are known/stereotyped as being more vicious than the male-equivalents, which were sometimes considered more docile and calm (bruh). This may be because Coluans and their primordial ancestors only had 1 offspring, which needed protection. It's also possible that females were primary hunters in their oldest forms.

OR differences and expectations of females in many cultures compared to Coluans make Coluan females seem more merciless. Nearly all Coluans are known to be Machiavellian and cunning though. (Like when everyone knew they were getting out of prison upon seeing Vril II) In general, their current social structure is gender neutral overall, with males just being seen as a genetic variation. and Coluans themselves report almost no behavior patterns specific to either sex.

At least the comic Coluans need to eat and drink. (no idea about the show) Like I've said a few times, they were hunters at one point, but not apex predators (in our hc, Coluans descend from a species that ate invertebrates mostly, along with fish, and fruits.)

They still have a few pointed teeth. Eight, imo, are often significantly pointed in Coluans.

Compared to a human their gut is overall about 20-35% shorter, their large intestine-equivalent especially- doesn't loop as high in their abdomen.

Their palate is tuned to crave high energy compounds in food, and their overall energy expenditure is slightly higher than the average human, but may have been altered or supplemented with cybernetics over time to require less energy. If so, their resting body temperature may be cooler than ours.

Coluans have consumed more synthetic, efficient forms of food typically high in protein and fat- needed for nervous system functionv(But likely low in taste) for centuries.

On the chance Coluans are off world, they prefer and love meat.

Many Coluans also have a sweet tooth and can process glucose with just slightly more efficiency than a Terran.

thanks to ^^ and their nervous systems, Coluans intoxicated with normal alcohol are still much faster than many species, so they simply don't seem to ever get drunk.

I've talked about it before but their nervous system is denser and more complicated, with highly advanced ganglia in their peripheral nervous system. These often occur in threes, and while they do not store memories or information, they allow intricate control of and perception from nearly every part of a Coluan's body. The brain has a vast surface area, almost appearing fractal-like on examination.

The hippocampus-equivalent is a branched structure, and its form may have inspired the Dox clan icon/motif.

Their green skin is very unlikely to get burned under a star like Sol, but can be "sunburned" by more intense starlight. I think Colu was a relatively warm, tropical planet, now its climate is regulated but Coluans might still prefer warmth.

Maria Orsic was born on October 31, 1895, in Austria. She studied ballet, languages, and the occult. At some point in her life, she became a trance-medium, channeling spirits and beings from other star systems. These beings gave her the blueprints to build flying discs capable to travel through time. Maria Orsic was the leader and founder of the Vril Society, In 1945, she, along with some of her followers disappeared without a trace.

Starseed Literature Review: Other Tongues - Other Flesh

Other Tongues - Other Flesh is an influential work in the starseed movement, setting up a lot of the lore commonly accepted today. It doesn't use the word "starseed" - here, they're called "Wanderers." But it's the exact same concept. Everything I can find says that this book was published in 1953; however, later parts of this book contain references to alleged alien sightings that took place in 1954. So I'm not sure yet whether this date is wrong, or if the book was updated, or if parts of it were published sequentially. I'm not going to detail everything written in it; that would make this already-long post even longer, so I'll try to keep it as brief as I possibly can.

The introduction to this book on Sacred Texts says, Even murkier is his association with the Nazi William Dudley Pelley, whom he worked for briefly in the early 1950s. That said, it is difficult to spot any explicit trace of extreme right-wing politics in this book. Personally, I don't think it's difficult at all. I think it blares from the pages like klaxon alarms. Early in the book, Williamson infantilizes the human race by comparing them to "naughty children" who require a higher, wiser power to make them behave. He also thinks humans are too stupid to have made modern scientific advances on their own and credits extraterrestrial influence. (Not only does this betray fascist modes of thinking, but it also betrays a gross ignorance of modern history.) He shows massive intolerance of other cultures by finding fault in the existence of religious diversity, and effectively calls for theocracy by declaring that science cannot contradict what he declares to be Capital-T Truth. And speaking of science, his scientific comprehension is appalling. He claims that we could be surrounded by invisible beings made of anti-matter, supposedly because our eyes can only see beings made of matter. Never mind that matter and antimatter, y'know, completely annihilate each other if they ever come into contact. He believes that an anisotropic crystal can split light into "positive" and "negative" forces, and tells us that an alien entity informed him that our bodies' energy comes from crystals in the blood "diffusing, refracting and reflecting the positive and negative light lines of force." He claims that "opposing polarized conditions" create blood flow, which causes the heart to beat. He doesn't believe that the sun is hot; in fact, he believes that it's a cool body, and that there are planets beneath its photosphere. He believes that all of the planets have the same climate as Earth.

The dude is also really, really obsessed with the swastika. He claims it's supposedly "the true clock of the universe," a "true universal symbol," and also a symbol of the Wanderers. Look folks, nobody with any investment in rehabilitating the swastika to a Western audience is up to any good. It doesn't matter what their reasoning is; fixating on a symbol that had zero relevance to Western culture until the Nazi party used it is a red flag. He believes that the asteroid belt was once a planet known as Lucifer or Maldek, and claims that it was destroyed by hydrogen bombs. Apparently, the Interplanetary Confederation is afraid that Earth might suffer the same fate. Which, like... yeah, it's true that hydrogen bombs would definitely be bad news for us people and most life on Earth, but the idea that they could shatter the planet is absolutely absurd. If we assume that the aliens are a figment of Williamson's ego, it's quite obviously a product of Cold War era anxiety coupled with scientific illiteracy. If we assume that the alien entity is real, then it's fear-mongering on the alien's part. Despite this, Williamson later on cheerfully reports that all spacecraft "operate in a Resonating Electro-Magnetic Field" that can also be used as "a deadly death ray." He believes that Atlantean and Egyptian kings carried around "Vril Sticks" which could be used as death rays against people. Massive amounts of destructive power are just fine so long as it's wielded by his guys, apparently. Williamson also believes that chimerical creatures such as griffins and sphinxes once existed, but were destroyed in the Great Flood. Why? Because he believed that hybrid creatures were spiritually inferior, if not aspiritual. He claims that after the Great Flood, God made such hybridization impossible. While this might not be the frothing-in-the-mouth condemnation of "race-mixing" one would expect from a Nazi, any amount of demonizing or moralizing the body is always cause for concern. Nothing good can ever come of trying to arbitrate what kind of body does and does not count as a person, let alone a person with a soul. This perception of chimerical creatures also displays gross cultural ignorance, because the notion that divinity was not to be found in the animal soul, or that hybrid creatures could not be wise and holy, is contradicted in many cultures. (Ganesha comes readily to mind.) The author claims that ancient gods were really aliens, and even claims that John the Baptist was a Wanderer. He claims that Wanderers often display symptoms of what most of us would recognize as anxiety, and claims that this is because they're incompatible with Earth's vibratory rate. This sets the stage for later beliefs that people with autism and ADHD are all actually starseeds. He also claims Wanderers often found in jobs relating to communication, transportation, and science. He claims that they've "infiltrated" radio and writing, and he attributes the rising popularity of science fiction to Wanderer writers. Williamson claims that climate change is part of the transition into the New Age, a belief that still persists today. He raises the specter of government mind control by suggesting that food additives could affect people's emotions. He references a prior channeling session in which an alleged alien entity said "There are now many young people in your world who understand our message. They will accept it quickly for they are of the New Age. The Great Awakening is here." The use of the term "Great Awakening" further speaks to just how long New Age and far right ideas have been linked.

Williamson says that Earth is being infiltrated by negative entities from Orion. He claims that "These people are sometimes small in stature with strange, oriental type eyes. Their faces are thin and they possess weak bodies," and refers to them as the "Universal parasites." He links them with "serpent people" of "ancient legends." Williamson does condemn the atrocities of WWII and the various abuses inflicted on people deemed "primitive," but this is an incredibly easy sentiment for almost anyone to drum up in the abstract, and doesn't say much about someone's moral character in the face of genuine adversity. The fact remains that even Nazis aren't a monolith, and some of them idealize the notion of a world filled with all kinds of people - just, with all of them in their "proper place" and not "forcing" their cultures on each other. Milquetoast "violence bad" statements just don't say much about a person's character. Furthermore, Williamson says later on, Within a few years the whole world will learn that a false economic system, invented and fostered by a few greed crazed lusters after gold has caused every war on the face of the globe. He also says, "What people on Earth will survive to inherit the New Age? The world population will be reduced greatly. Where there are now thousands there will be tens." Mass depopulation is fine by him because supposedly, the souls of deceased will have new incarnations. Sorry George, but a violent ideology prettied up with glitter and rainbows is still a violent ideology. If the atrocities of war bother you, then so should this death toll you're projecting. The book also includes a number of anecdotal reports of UFO sightings and other strange incidents, which honestly I skimmed over because there's no way to verify any of them. (Let's be real, anyone can claim to have had an extraterrestrial encounter for shits and giggles.) Williamson constantly claims that "the ancients" or "ancient texts" said this or that, but rarely gives citations. In one case where he actually does, he cites A Series of Lessons in Gnani Yoga, which was actually written by William Walker Aktinson and published in 1907 - hardly an ancient text!

All in all, this book just goes to show that the New Age and starseed movements have been full of peudoscience, pseudohistory, and hatred the whole time. If one believes that these alien beings are real, one must wonder why they keep reaching out to such awful people and why they keep encouraging harmful, hateful beliefs.

E, na verdade, é algo difícil de definir porque a gente não vê, só sente. "A energia vital universal é a energia que nos coloca no nosso estado mais puro, que é de alegria, abundância, gratidão, contentamento interno, plenitude. É aquela centelha divina que a gente, às vezes, sente no meio do peito em momentos de meditação profunda ou de grande contentamento. É a energia que nos dá equilíbrio, ainda que à nossa volta esteja o caos".

O reiki é considerado uma terapia integrativa em que o reikiano (ou mestre) estende suas mãos sob algumas partes do corpo para canalizar a energia vital universal com o objetivo de equilibrar o corpo e a mente. É, inclusive, reconhecido pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) e aplicado no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).

O que é reiki?

O reiki é um sistema de cura que tem por objetivo ativar, canalizar e aplicar a energia vital universal em qualquer ser vivo a fim de equilibrar a energia dele, que pode estar em desequilíbrio (frequências mais baixas). Mas, como isso funciona? "O universo é formado por energias que interagem entre si e se entrelaçam. Todos nós somos constituídos por energia e matéria. Essa energia é vibracional, ou seja, ela vibra em uma determinada frequência. Emoções positivas geram energia que vibra em frequências mais altas, enquanto as emoções negativas geram energia que vibra em frequências mais baixas", explica Carol Salles, jornalista e mestre em Reiki há 13 anos. "Vale citar que quem decodificou primeiro esse sistema foi o japonês Mikao Usui, nascido em 1865. Sua história conta que ele 'recebeu' os símbolos por meio de meditações em vibrações muito elevadas", explica.

Esse método utilizado que é através da colocação das mãos nas regiões das sete glândulas do corpo humano, que são os centros energéticos por onde tudo é captado. A energia vital universal é trazida para essas regiões revitalizando todos os setores do corpo humano que são coordenados por essas regiões, consequentemente trataremos das doenças respectivas.

Além disso, por se tratar da energia de vida do universo, a Cura se processa no espiritual, emocional, no passado e no futuro de cada um. Com o Reiki, podemos limpar traumas, medos, frustrações, raivas, rancores do passado, bem como, preparar cada momento do futuro. Podemos também, tratar de pessoas a distância desde que elas autorizem.

Cardíaco (Anahata) Fica no centro do peito, na altura do coração. É o chakra do amor incondicional, da compaixão, da autoestima. Também é o chakra intermediário entre os inferiores (os três acima) e os superiores, fazendo a ligação entre eles. Sua cor é verde (cura) ou rosa (amor)

Laríngeo (Visuddha) Localiza-se na garganta. Está ligado à tireóide, à comunicação em geral, à fala, a como nos colocamos perante os outros. Sua cor é azul celeste.

Frontal (Ajna) É o famoso terceiro olho, aquele que enxerga o invisível. Fica no centro da testa, um pouco acima das sobrancelhas. É o chakra da intuição e sua cor é azul índigo.
