時代が進んでもなぜかローポリって魅力的に見えますよね？ スーパーマリオやドラクエのドット絵が好きな人も多いのでは？ Voxartはそんな人たちにもってこいな｢立体ドット絵｣を作れるおもちゃです。

1ピースがすでに立体になっているレゴと違い、Voxartは1ピースが16色からなる平らなプラスチックのタイルで構成されています。

それぞれのピースには折り目が付いていて、他のタイルと連結することで立体に。組み立て後、分解して再利用できるのはレゴと同じですね。

6枚のタイルで一辺が約3cmの立方体を作ることができます。この立方体を他の立方体と連結していくとより大きく複雑なモデルも作成可能。Vox（Voxel）という単語が名前に入っているのは、この立方体を組み合わせる手法が由来。Voxelは3Dを描く方法の1つでマインクラフトに使われています。

ほとんどの3Dゲームはレンダリングが簡単なことからポリゴンを使用しますが、マインクラフトではVoxelを採用したことで3次元なのにドット絵感のある表現ができていますね。

Voxartでマインクラフトの仮装を作るのもいいんですが、ピクセル化させた花やペット、マリオやドラクエなどのキャラクターを作って部屋に飾るのもとってもおしゃれです。

さらにVoxartにはモバイルアプリも付属。ユーザーは自分の作品をシェアしたり、他のユーザーの作品からインスピレーションをもらうこともできます。どのように組み立てれば良いのかもシミュレーションできるので、創造性がふくらみます。

Voxartは現在Kickstarterで3万2千ドル（約420万円）以上の支援を集めており、既に目標額の1万ドルを達成しています。49枚のタイルで組み立てられる花は9ドル（約1,200円）の支援で入手可能、他にも動物の頭コレクションなど、金額によってさまざまなプレッジが用意されています。

より複雑なものを作りたいユーザーには、｢フリースタイルキット｣がおすすめ。各色100枚ずつから好きな色を選ぶことができ、組み立ての幅が広がります。169ドル（1,600ピース）以上のプレッジを選べば16色すべて手に入るので、いろいろ作りたい人は迷わずこちらを選ぶのがおすすめ。

Here’s that Wes thing I was doing the other day, a ref for Wes as he appears in 'What Goes Around Comes Around'. I disliked the idea of him constantly being in a basketball uniform, so i gave him some sweet new clothes. I also gave him my beloved earring just cuz.

He wears that tank ironically. Danny absolutely makes fun of him for it.
