havent given this au a proper name yet but. vampire!oscar (voscar, if you will)

was just listening to vampire empire and,,, it’s so blindfaith-coded.

“i see you there, rejecting all your earthly power / protection and dissecting ‘til you’ve emptied every hour” comments PERFECTLY on oscar’s need to protect and help arthur with all he has, and also that he’s part of the church and therefore is expected to rid himself of earthly possessions and desires.

“i see you as you see yourself through all the books you read / overwhelmed with guilt and realising the disease” the books being the bible, and the guilt being oscar’s love for arthur as well as his involvement with other gods conflicting with the church’s beliefs,,, making him realise just how much internal trouble his faith is causing him in these weird times.

“where you can’t seem to hold me, can’t seem to let me go” is literally just them. that’s just their situation.

“you wanna be with me, you wanna be with him” is how john feels about the whole thing, jealous guy that he is. /lh (seriously tho, the line is said with such pain which i feel encapsulates john’s feelings perfectly.)
