Symbolic:

All of June's friends seem to have a toxic trait.

Carmen seems careless/impulsive

Vonnie seems cold

Ryan seems detached/refusing to show vulnerability

I'm not totally sure for McCoy though.

The point is, they all show a toxic trait.

They all hurt others with that toxic trait.

First with Vonnie constantly criticizing everything, the drinks, chewing out the employee.

Then there's Carmen, forcing Vonnie to finish the drinks, and annoying Ryan by burying him in the sand and leaving him there

There's McCoy, hurting June by slapping her

And there's Ryan, first being annoyed at having to watch the bags, then making people haul his cooler around, then abandoning June at the end.

All of June's friends are toxic to some degree.

June and Ryan seems to be the only ones noticing the weird behavior as time goes on.

Ryan chickens out and goes outside, abandoning June.

June is left the only one trying to fix things between the friends. She either "drowns" from the work it is until she falls too, or has to give up.

We see her doubt herself about what if she's the one in the wrong.

There's also at the beginning where she mentioned her cousin finally leaving a toxic friend group.

All in all, I think it'd represent toxic relationships

Literal:

All of it starts when they are touched by the resorts water.

McCoy gets splashed with the drink, then showers. Vonnie and Carmen drink.

Then, the more time passes, the more obsessed they find themselves with water, and the less caring they are of others.

McCoy staying in the ocean then drinking a whole jug of water.

Carmen staying in a filled bathtub.

Vonnie eating water-filled food (seafood)

They are all acting rude/aggressive by that point.

Meanwhile, June hasn't had any opportunity to drink water (or really anything) since the start except for a few sips of the cocktails and a few drinks at the bar the first night.

Ryan, we don't really know. We can assume the water from the rain affected him, though, which caused him to get affected by whatever was happening.

But then why didn't June get affected? She went into the ocean, she drank, she stayed in the rain.

I'm honestly not sure about that part.

In whichever case, my guess is that some sort of eldritch deity had taken control over the minds of the people of the island through the fluids mainly, to being them to the water and drown them.

The water was also weird, with it suddenly being extremely deep for no reason.

June either falls while trying to save her friends, or survives.

Vonnie, if you like watching boxing and beat-ups so much, why don't Y̶O̶U̶ ̶J̶U̶S̶T̶ ̶M̶A̶R̶R̶Y̶ ̶I̶T̶ try it out yourself to get that thrill more often?

Vonnie has in fact been practicing! She got herself a very reluctant teacher and has already picked out a name for her inevitable launch into boxing as a career! Now she just needs is a fancy costume that dubiously skirts the apparel guidelines!

She's extremely new to it however. She gets coached on form and such from Little Mac, but she only ever boxes the solid holograms provided by the WVBA's training center. She’s not even defeated Joe’s holo yet! She’s determined though.

She’s got the skills! She’s got the power! You’ll never catch her, she is like—!!! … Big Ben?

No one is quite sure what to think of this new development, however one person can think of a few choice words he'd like to have with a certain impulsive little sister of his! YVONNE—

As an aside, we believe Doc is exaggeratedly sniffling and wiping tears from his eyes that the student has become the teacher, much to a shy Little Mac’s embarrassment.

They know there’s something wrong as soon as they reach the lakeside outpost and there isn’t a guard waiting to greet them. Keelan grips the hilt of his sword, noting the foot sticking out of the doorway. Vonnie is at his side, her sword already out of its sheath.

“Those incompetent cunts,” she seethes, but Keelan holds up a hand to silence her. He can smell blood. They reach the door and he finds the owner of the foot, a guard with his throat gushing blood. Keelan steps over him, noting that the lanterns are out in the corridor. The floor is sticky under his boots. Vonnie lights a torch behind him, illuminating the blood-soaked hallway. She swears, striding forward past Keelan and two more bodies, heading for the holding cells.

“Come on, O’Leyne,” she snaps, and Keelan tears his gaze away from the dead. “We might not be too late.”

He follows her, past doused lanterns and dead guards. The thief had to have been fast, and near-silent to catch so many by surprise. They reach the holding cells and Keelan yanks Vonnie back when he sees the two men at the end of the hallway, hobbling towards the back door.

“Stop right there,” he shouts, raising his sword. One of the men shoves the other to the ground, turning to reveal himself to be the thief. He is covered, head-to-toe, in blood. Keelan tightens his grip on his sword. “So you’re a murderer now?”

The thief says nothing, holding a knife in one hand. Keelan advances, keeping his eye on the knife. “You’ve made a big mistake this time.”

The thief darts forward, parrying Keelan’s sword with the knife in his hand. Keelan gasps with surprise and pain as a second knife, hidden in the thief’s other hand, sinks into his side, up underneath his armor. The thief’s face is expressionless as he rips the knife out, knocking Keelan’s sword out of his hand. He turns to run and Keelan tries to grab him, but his movements are too slow. His side is too wet. The thief grabs the other man from the ground, keeping his face turned away, and drags him out the door. Keelan stumbles to his knees, pressing his hand to his side, and looks down at the wound.

“Fuck,” he manages to mumble, tipping. Vonnie catches him before he can hit the ground, immediately swearing at him. She hauls him along, dragging him bodily through the outpost until they reach the street. She screams for a medic, but her voice is coming from underwater. Keelan latches his gaze on the silver moon, hanging above the city. He is laying on the pavement suddenly, and he can’t tell how he got there. He’s bleeding a lot, into the gutter now.

“Maura,” he croaks, the silver moon filling his vision. “Maura, I’m sorry.” He feels hands on him, trying to treat his wound. “I failed.” He feels tears sliding down his temples, his voice barely above a whisper now. “Maura, forgive me.”

“Shut the fuck up!” Vonnie shouts in his face. “You’re not dying, you dramatic bitch!”

He wants to tell her off, but the words are heavy on his tongue. He might be dying, regardless of her opinion. He keeps his gaze on the silver moon, pretending he can taste sweet pea in the back of his throat. It’s not possible; she couldn’t know he’s dying in a gutter in the lakeside district, and even if she could, she would have to be close to him to heal him. He thinks. He was never the expert on magic.

Pain shoots up from the wound in his side and he jerks upright, growling at the healer kneeling at his side. The old woman is unfazed, pressing more herbs into the wound. She pushes him back down and looks up at Vonnie, who is leaned over him on his other side. “He won’t bleed out,” she says. “But he shouldn’t walk. Get a stretcher. He’ll need a lot of rest.” She’s bandaging him as she speaks and there is a fuzz in his head that is starting to make it hard to follow the conversation. He latches his gaze onto the moon again.

He’d been so close. The thief had been within reach. And he still failed. He glares at the moon, thinking of the line in the prophecy about thieves. Will the moons never cease their torment of him?

Vonnie smacks his cheek, only hard enough to get his attention. “You’re going home, O’Leyne. We’ll see if we can track the thief from here.”

He doesn’t bother to protest, just lets her put him on a stretcher and carry him to his flat.

Hehhehehe ok got you some uhhh WVBA ring girls… ik they look like a magical girl group HUSH

Anyways here’s some of their info in order.

Minuette- 25, An aspiring fashion star that is also quite distant in personality. Doesn’t mean she hates a good time, however. (Honestly, she’s as cool and subtly sweet as well, mint chocolate chip). She’s the most responsible out of the whole group and doesn’t let anyone bother her over her not having a perfect hourglass body. She’s a big fan of having a mix of 60s makeup and clothes in her lineup.

Betty- 19, Bodacious and a total show girl, she’s quite closeted when you see her outside of her side gig. Betty is trying to complete some classes in college, but the stress of it really brings her down and she’s unfortunately seen as the nerdy type by her peers and classmates, so her getting compliments in the ring by audiences really makes her smile. She also mainly wears glasses, but she has a pair of contacts to put on whenever she’s ready to show off.

Vonnie- 20, Probably the most recognizable gal out of the whole group, she is definitely the most bubbly. Daughter of Arm Candy (Previous ring girl for the WVBA) and Texas Mac, her credentials do definitely shine. She just loves the sport of boxing, especially the boxers… And sees it as a fun watching sport (like many, MANY of her previous interests). Despite being pretty happy for the most part, she has to deal with her unsavory boyfriend. However, She does have the hots for the new, upcoming contender for Branch B aka Birdy…

Mei- 21, Definitely the most spunkiest of the group. Mei works as a waiter at her family’s Chinese restaurant along side with her siblings. She’s also probably the most tomboyish out of everyone else, so she wears mainly a bunch of comfy clothes outside of her WVBA gig. Her favorite movie genre is Action Movies (especially from Hong Kong). Mei’s favorite boxer is Dragon Chan due to this fact.

Lucia- 30, Bright and sassy, Lucia really knows how to bring in some spicy action. Despite being the eldest, that doesn’t stop her from trying to act like she’s 20 again. She’s always on the prowl for a potential lover, so flirting with the boxers and even some audience members. Lucia seems to be the most “mother” out of the group, so honestly it makes sense. She’s always trying out stuff that will make her be seen as more attractive such as modeling. Oh and she also does babysitting as a part time job just to get cash. A lot of her customers mistake her being an experienced parent, but uh… she doesn’t have kids so OOPS. Oh and she does look like the most mean-ish out of all the girls, which yes she’s quite blunt, but her heart is in the right place in a way.

“Herder,” the small voice made the inventor into his serious mood and genuinely asked, “Moneypenny dear, did something happen?”

Two red eyes looked up to him, “We’re going to have a new M. I heard he’s going to bring his men along. MI6 will be born.”

Their reactions were almost always an opposite, Herder perking up with the news. “We’re going to get new people to help me?” His eyes glimmering under the blindfold.

“But,” It was always Moneypenny who addressed the important things, “What about us?”

“Fear not, milady,” Herder said with confidence, “We’re MI5, the foundation of MI6. Surely Mycroft can arrange some things for us.”

The redhead pushed her lover in shock, “You mean, M knows???”
