Since it's already september, and i'm chilean, and i like Sebastian (and he is canonically chilean-american) i have came to cook
SPOILERS FROM SEBASTIAN'S BACKSTORY/PRESSURE
Okay so i imagine when he wasn't getting experimented on he used to live with his mother back on Chile, when he was a kid. I feel like he was playing with volantines a lot when September 18th came, and he used to eat mote con huesillo and terremoto too.
His favorite chilean food was pastel de choclo, he remembers the salty and sweet flavour of his mother's dish, warm and cozy in his hands.
He absolutly hates dancing cueca, because he didn't enjoy learning the moves (while also spending embarrasing moments in front of his mother when he messed up, she still has those videos of him dancing)
When he was a teen, he played some music to his younger brother, mostly Los Prisioneros and Los Bunkers.
I also hc that his sister tried to teach him how to use the trompo, but he missed the skill as he was trapped in Urbanshade
He loved to play bolitas with his brother, he always won the playful matches he had with him (he kept the ones that looked like milk and those giant ones too, because they were "valuable")
His mother use to make him go buy bread for the once when she was busy, and he liked to see the outside, but he had trouble dealing with the change (same here bud...)
One time when he was at a park, someone tried to rob him. He luckly got away safely, and he didn't want to go back again for months (i put this here because getting robbed on Chile it's like a typical Monday sometimes)
The cat he has is a black and white cat, and the name of the little fella is Manchitas (yes, the motivation is losing)
The only thing he enjoys about September 18th is the food, the games and the music, it is typical to see him playing with an emboque and eating an anticucho.
His favorite chilean candy is Guagüitas and Loop, he remembers his mother gifting him some when they go shopping
I also hc he lived on Chile until he was 14, until he got to the USA because of a family problem with his aunt
He had some loser ass friends when he was a senior, and he first smoke when he was on a party. It got to the point of him getting lighthearted and almost drowning in a pool
OKAY SO THAT'S IT, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE TELL ME OR SOMETHING IM FEELING THE HOLIDAYS AAAAAAAA VIVA CHILE CARAJOOOO

The Raven, 129 AC. With @theredripper
𖤓┊⟩» It's been a while since their last raid, Dalton saw how his men slowly soften and became a bunch of drunken sailors. Fortunately for them, soon they would have the opportunity to attack again. He knew one of them missed the assaults more than anyone, his own son Toron.
That's why today he summoned him to the Raven. Dalton's flagship was far away from any eavesdroppers. Perfect for planning without distractions. He waited on the port until Toron's figure appeared, Dalton couldn't resist the urge to hug him. So he did.
Dalton guided him to his cabin with a smile on his face. He waited until they were inside the room, surrounded by candles and maps, to speak. Nightfall was resting on the side of the table.
—There will be a ship coming out of Pentos in two months, bound for the old city of Volantis. A trading galley named the Black Crane. Inside the ship there is a Valyrian tome which details the rites of a ceremony long lost after the Doom. The Celtigars wish to acquire this book and offer to pay greatly. Dalton open one of his many maps and extended it over the table. It detailed to the narrow sea and it already depicted the routes the Black Crane could use. Dalton traced the lines with his fingers. —The Black Crane will be guarded by two Volantine dromonds. The Volantine captains will not expect an ambush. They lack discipline. And you will be the cause of their demise.

Bringing out another OC from the same series? setting? fic(s)? as Casandra Lannister/aka The Overly Large ASOIAF Yes And World Building Project
Tying up the "House Veltheos Loose Ends" by talking about the priestess I mentioned in this ask. (and yes this was a decision I came to because @sikudastoner thought hearing about the priestess from Yraegor's ask would be fun)

eliadah is a girlboss she is a war criminal she is a lunatic . she is clinically insane & the next virgin mary & she is never going to die
She is the daughter of a shadowbinder & general weird, morally dubious dude from Yi Ti, & a slave he "purchased the freedom of" from Qaarth. Was she actually free? Was she his companion or his weird experiment guinea pig? Does he actually care about people or is he too far removed from humanity at this point to have connections to people we can comprehend? Don't worry about it. All you need to worry about is that Eliadah's mom was drinking shade of the evening while pregnant, her dad is functionally immortal & taught Eliadah most of what she knows, & Eliadah is also functionally immortal. How old is she? Don't worry about it.
She's kind of innately magic & inexplicably psychic due to the whole "magic prophecy wine while pregnant" thing, but this is not a good thing for her. Growing up Eliadah could not control these visions--they were horrific, disjointed, they flashed in front of her quickly, they were often accompanied by sleep paralysis or even seizures.
Her dad isn't completely devoid of care, so he did his best to try to find a way for her to get this stuff under control, this brought them to Volantis, where they discovered that she could get this stuff mostly under control by using the same focuses as the red priests in the temple trying to have visions. This, quite naturally, won friends & influenced people. Because here comes this girl no one knows anything about who naturally has visions & the prayer fires of R'hllor help her focus them??? Obviously she's a chosen one. So she's not not a red priestess, but also all the priests in Volantis are slaves so it's this weird gray area where she's influential & she's at the temple doing R'hllor stuff, but she's also free & she rubs elbows with Volantine politicians & nobility.
After several years, Eliadah leaves. Partly so no one will notice she isn't aging & partly so she doesn't start running out of young virgin girls to kill that it's "socially acceptable" to ignore them "going missing." Very Elizbeth Bathory vibes.
Led by her visions that are now totally under control so long as she keeps up the kinda-sorta-red-priestess-thing, she makes her way to Asshai where she just parks it. No one really cares what fucked up shit she's doing or that she's pretty much immortal & that she's doing blood sheet masks. So she waits out "what she knows is coming," because she was kind of indoctrinated by the priests in Volantis & also she's old enough that she's starting to get a bit detached & develop that same type of Blue And Orange Morality her dad has.
Queue Yraegor Veltheos showing up &, at least superficially, ticking all the boxes for one of the most prominent recurring visions she has. So she essentially wines & dines him into thinking he's special & not like the other boys & totally part of this prophecy. What's the motives for this vision? Don't worry about it, just do what I say because isn't it dope to be part of something (see: she also has no fucking clue what's going on, she's just following the visions because they have to be there for a reason, right????)
She makes Yraegor knock her up during a fucked up blood sacrifice "life must pay for life" ritual while continuing to feed him "don't you want to be special" lines. Then returns with him back to his family home in Westeros, with a couple of dragon eggs she gathered over the Amount Of Years Don't Worry About It, & totally brings back dragons to his family because that's what that vision was for right????? Don't worry about what happened to the baby.
Eliadah remains a fixture in the Veltheos court through a big chunk of the plot until she's killed by Yraegor because oh my God does he deserve to do that. Bur yeah, she is definitely a "this character is fucking awful, I love them in a way" type OC

I have not watched the show, so I’m genuinely asking - how the hell did the GoT writers explain away why Talisa - the noble, wealthy, girl from a powerful family in Volantis - never had her family coming after her killers?
Like, the Volantine are a tempestuous, vicious sort of people at the best of times, and you expect me to believe that one of the accomplished, beauties of their city who had just married the King in the North and was pregnant with his child didn’t have her entire city howling at the gates of King’s Landing for the heads of the Freys?
I know they had their hands full with Dany later on, but it still makes no sense!!!
Talisa’s family logically would’ve wanted vengeance

Regarding Volantis, we know that the city "controls the Rhoyne as far as the tributary river Selhoru, and holds sway over the Orange Shore, west of the city". So we have clear marks for its northern and western borders, but what do you think mark its eastern border?
Since Volantine ships patrol the Selhoru, I would guess their eastern border is, at the furthest, at the most-upstream navigable point on the river.

The World Of Ice And Fire: The Aftermath of the Doom (Revised 12/15/22)
Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
The dragonlords of Valyria were nearly wiped out in the Doom. Aenar Targaryan, thanks to forewarning from his daughter, Daeyns the Dreamer, had taken his children and dragons and fled to Dragonstone before the Doom.  Other dragonlords weren’t as fortunate.
Let’s be honest, the only one who liked the Valyrians were their fellow Valyrians. The Doom caused the destruction of their power base, and the death of their military and most of their dragons. Huge targets were painted on the back of the surviving Valyrians.
The citizens of Tyrosh and Lys killed the dragonlords that were in their cities. Dragonlords in other areas suffered the same fate.
“Dragonlords” implies the lords were in possession of dragons but that didn’t seem to stop Tyrosh, Lys, and other areas from killing them. Either these were wimpy dragons, or the respective cities felt the mass casualties would be worth it if the result was no more dragons – like the storming of the Dragonpit in the Dance of the Dragons.
The histories of Qohor claimed Aurion, a visiting dragonlord, raised forces from the Qohorik colonists and proclaimed himself the first Emperor of Valyria. Aurion led a 30,000 strong host to Valyria but neither he nor his host were heard from afterwards.
How long after the Doom did Aurion wait until he led his mission to reclaim Valyria? A mass volcanic destruction on that scale would take years to settle. As a dragonlord, shouldn’t Aurion have some idea of the creatures that reside in the Fourteen Flames – and that the eruptions would have freed them? What did he expect his ground forces to do once they arrived in Valyria? It wasn’t an opposing army that destroyed the Valyrian Freehold.  Qohor is some distance from Valyria so it’s possible Aurion didn’t know how the Freehold fell, only that it did. If GRRM was a faster writer, I wouldn’t mind a short story told from Aurion’s point of view to discover the reasoning behind his doomed expedition. And to see how quickly the poor foot soldiers were massacred by the fire wyrms, wyverns, etc.
Volantis, founded by Valyrians, decided to be the new Valyria, and attempt to conquer the Free Cities. Volantis had initial success – gaining control of Lys, Myr, and the southern reaches of the Rhoyne.  The party stopped when Pentos and Tyrosh allied to battle Volantis. Myrs and Lys rebelled.  The Sealord of Braavos sent a hundred ships to aid Lys. Argilac the Arrogant, a Westerosi Storm King, led a host into the Disputed Lands and defeated a Volantene host attempting to retake Myr. Remember Argilac’s name, he pops up later in the histories.
The struggles in the Disputed Lands led to the formation of the Free Companies – bands of sellswords who fight for whomever pays them.
Pentos and Tyrosh approached a young Aegon (not yet a conqueror) Targaryan to join their alliance against Volantis. And he agreed. Apparently, he didn’t have any residual loyalty towards his fellow Valyrians. Aegon met with the Prince of Pentos and the magisters of the Free City. Aegon flew Balerion the Black Dread to Lys and burned a fleet that was preparing to invade the city.
Volantis’s luck contunied to worsen. The fire galleys of Qohor and Norvos destroyed most of the Volantine fleet on the Rhoyne. In the east, the Dothraki sensed Volantine weakness like a shark senses blood in the water. The Dothraki swarmed out of the Dothraki, leaving nothing but ruin and devastation in their wake.
Esso really went all-in on their “no more Valyrian overlords” response – even Westeros got in on the action. Like I said, the only ones who liked the Valyrians were the fellow Valyrians. I wonder if anyone has ever told Daenaerys and Faegon the history of the immediate aftermath of the Doom? Both have the same “I am the blood of old Valyria, the blood of the dragon, and therefore I am entitled to the throne, and the people are waiting/and will rejoice when I take it” but the history shows otherwise. The nations and the people will bend due to the threat of the dragons but as soon as weakness is exposed, the people revolt.
Daenerys is popular with the freed slaves and the underclass, but the non-slave areas of Essos aren’t welcoming her. And Westeros won’t either. She’s coming with three weapons of mass destruction and an army of Dothraki, Unsullied, and sellswords. Westeros is aware of the atrocities a dragon can inflict (the Field of Fire, Harrenhal, the Dance of the Dragons). What are the Dothraki known for - theft, rape, slavery, and murder. Daenerys, through no fault of her own, will also have to deal with the fallout of being the daughter of the Mad King and the rumors and horror stories that have preceded her arrival in Westeros – she killed her own brother, she bathes in the blood of virgins, etc.
Faegon may be initially popular if he replaces Cersei but that’s going to end as soon as the Dance of the Dragons, part 2 begins.
We know King’s Landing is going to burn – the most likely time is during Daenerys and Faegon’s clash. It’s only a matter of how: does Daenerys unleash the dragons in a controlled strike and accidentally hit the caches of wildfire? Does she lean into the “fire and blood” option that she embraces at the end of A Dance With Dragons and intentionally unleash the dragons on King’s Landing? Remember, Tyrion will be the devil on her shoulder, and he has an axe to grind with King’s Landing. If you’ve only watched the show, Tyrion is a completely different character in the book. Are does Cersei/Jon Connington light the wildfire in a desperate attempt to fight off Dany’s forces?  No matter who sets it off, Daenerys will get the blame. The wildfire under King’s Landing isn’t public knowledge. A few people know of it – mainly the Lannister siblings. If King’s Landing erupts in a firestorm, Westerosi will blame the dragons as that is the simple explanation.  Add in the rumor mill, not to mention the fearmongering efforts of Varys, Littlefinger and Cersei, and Daenerys’s reputation will be shot - instead of the “Breaker of Chains”, Westeros will see the “Mad King Version 2”.
Back to the aftermath of the Doom…
Volantis itself underwent a power struggle. The Tigers – the faction who favored expansion and conquest – lost power to the elephants – a faction of tradesmen and merchant who favored peace. The elephants sued for peace and the wars were over.
Aegon Targaryen lost interest when peace ensued and returned to Dragonstone.
Aegon dropping Essos like a child bored with a toy intrigues me. His family had control of the few dragons left in the world. Essos was weakened by the wars. For someone who goes down in history as the Conqueror, Essos is easy pickings. So why did he take the “bored now, going home” option? Did he have his “A prince that was promised” vision while he was in Essos? If so, did he not think he would need the aid of Essos in the upcoming battle? Or did he simply want to ensure that no other Valyrian could threaten his family’s power and once that was accomplished, he went home.
Valyria remains a ruin to this day. The Fourteen Flames have turned into a Smoking Sea. The road that joins Volantis to Slaver’s Bay is known as the “demon road” and is avoided by sensible travelers.
Men who enter the Smoking Sea do not return. Volantis sent a fleet the claim the peninsula during the Century of Blood only for the fleet to vanish.
Rumors state men still live in the ruins of Valyria and its neighboring cities of Oros and Tyria. Most don’t believe the rumors and insist the Doom still infects Valyria.
A few cities on the outskirts of Valyria remain inhabited. In Mantarys, men are said to be born twisted and monstrous. Tolos, home of the finest slingers in the world, and Elyria are less sinister but have ties to the Ghiscari cities on Slaver’s Bay.
Based on a few minutes of research, it takes anywhere from two hundred to a thousand years for land to recover from a volcanic eruption. A single eruption. Now imagine the devastation of fourteen simultaneous volcanic eruptions. It’s been a little over three hundred years since the Doom and the land hasn’t even begun the recovery process. Add in fire wyrms and bad magical juju released in the eruptions and Valyria may never recover from the Doom.
Up next, the Reign of the Dragons

Out of Time AU.
The battle against the God’s Eye ended with Caraxes and Daemon falling on free fall soon after Aemond and Vhagar found their fate in the waters below them. The Blood Wyrm had lost a wing and he fell hard over the water, yet his body managed to cushion the fall for Daemon managing to keep him safe. He still fell into the water, yet the water pulled him out to the shore eventually, reappearing that same night elsewhere in the coast.
Who found him has been Nettles - the dragonseed who has not stayed away from the battle, despite being sent away to her safety. The girl took Daemon with Sheepstealer away from Westeros. They spent some weeks in Braavos, where Daemon recovered from the battle, until he was ready to fly again. From there, they descended to Volantis, where they spent a couple of months, searching for a way of living. Yet the idea was always to keep travelling.
From Volantins they flew to Qarth, where they stayed for the rest of the year, doing whatever was necessary to survive. And then finally they reached their original destination by the beginnings of the next year - the Shadow Lands. Daemon and Nettles stayed in Asshai where they made their home.
Asshai being quite big in dragonlore kept the Prince interested in it, but something else caught his attention. Magic. Asshai was well known already for being a city where magic was not forbidden and all kind of magic could be practiced. He started to study it and practice it - coming to find sacrifices along the way. Daemon become an aeromancer (a person who can control the element of air) among other things. He eventually meet and befriended Melisandre, who by the time was not yet wearing her necklace.
Learning about the White Walkers, Daemon found another interest and continued to pursue the knowledge in magic, ending with a sapphire ring in his left hand that works exactly like the necklace of Melisandre, it keeps him young and alive. Eventually he lost Nettles - could be due to her leaving him for all the excess of magic use, or because she was one of his sacrifices, rumors are not clear on the matter. But eventually Daemon stayed alone in Asshai, until the three dragons eggs of Dreamfyre - that he has found - were delivered to Pentos. He traveled alongside the eggs, keeping a close watch on them despite them being apparently turned to stone.
Moving in the shadows, he spied on Daenerys and Viserys Targaryen from the moment he heard about them, he followed them in their journey keeping himself hidden from view. However, he appeared to Daenerys at least two times, in which he looked like a dangerous man covered in a cloak and a red mask. He did not introduced himself to her until much later.
In his time in Asshai, Daemon wore the clothing of the Shadow Lands, preferring to wear the red lacquered wooden mask, to cover up his identity, though he did covered his hair as well, he never wore the tattoos of the Shadow Men.
