I really enjoy the "Our Life" games by GBPatch Games - they're probably my all time favourite. Trouble Comes Twice by Foxglove Games, something I played recently, was also really fun.

If you can get your hands on it really dirt cheap, maybe check out Bustafellows. It's not that good, but the art is great and it does have its moments!

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney is also amazing, if you're into a little law and order gedohns.

If you like Scifi, maybe check out Andromeda Six by Wanderlust Games - also a game I hold really dear - or Infinite Stars.

If you're into vampires, I'd 100% recommend both Vampire The Masquerate - Courteries of New York and Vampire the Masquerade - Shadows of New York. Thinking about it, I should probably replay those...

Fantasy-wise I really enjoyed When The Night Comes by Lunaris Games.

Scarlet Hollow and Slay The Princess by Black Tabby Games are really neat if you're into horror. And Touchstarved by Red Spring Studios is still a Demo for now, but it's already super neat! Oh and XOXO Blood Droplets by GB Patch Games is also fun to play if you like whacky, horror-leaning stuff!

And I guess that's all I have so far! Sorry it's not more, I'm sure you've heard of most of those already. I'm super picky with my visual novels so I don't play a whole lot of them, haha.

Devlog 2024-02-09 (Episode 4 - Part 1 is out NOW!)

It's Friday! And this is a special Friday because it's a RELEASE Friday!

That's right! Episode 4 - Part 1 is now live!

Update Edit: It's also a sad day for my family. I lost someone dear to me this morning, someone even dearer to my loved ones, and my heart is aching with them for our loss. I wish things weren't the way they are. I wish I could do more to ease their suffering.

Project Details:

167,666 words in total. (That's roughly the same length as the first two Harry Potter novels combined)

825 possible choices.

Patrons can get their version over here (win|mac|lin) or here (android), and everyone else can get the full game on Steam or Itchio!

Episode 4 - Part 1 continues the story after the dramatic conclusion from Episode 3.

It introduces several new characters, several new and redrawn backgrounds, several new portraits, several new music tracks, an overhauled story controller, a new free-roam mechanic, a new star system navigation interface, a lore gallery with unlockable entries, a system for players to load custom-made stories written by other players into the game, a seasonal event (Spooktober Heist), and nearly 40K additional words of content (some being intimate content for Kiaria, Lochem and Khalil).

It also includes two very special player portraits! Thanks to the amazing ladies from Wanderlust Games, you can now play your Mah'Abeu as a younger version of Damon or Ayame from Andromeda Six! (Seriously, if you're hearing about Andromeda Six for the first time– You're about to fall in love. Go check them out and support them if your wallet allows!)

We've been working extremely hard to bring this release to you, and while we've added a ton of new things, we would have loved to add more. Sadly, we had to draw a line in the sand and release what was available.

Some of the things that we could add before the deadline that were requested by our beta testers:

MC is more knowledgeable about the Cephilusk.

Added a location hint during free-roam sequences.

Made Kiaria more Kiaria when dealing with current events.

Your Mah'Abue now crafts the notice being sent to the crew.

Several more personality options (with more on their way)

Most free-roam scenes now have the crew members touching on or hinting at the current situation.

Fixed some logic bugs with Sonia's scene.

Adjusted Andreas' scene with an additional choice if he becomes too much.

Added some additional logic and checks to the response you can give when the crew/your LI asks about how you are coping. (Might still expand on this.)

Your Mah'Abue now has more control over how they handle Nikau.

Added Lindi's music track.

An additional intimate scene for Khalil

I can't believe you played a6! I loved that game at first but something about the devs was super off putting to me that I dropped it a few years ago and haven't played it since. Is it worth it even?

Yeah, I do think the game is worth it in general, yes! The story is nice, the world they created is awesome, I really really love the characters a whole lot, and the art is beautiful!

(Especially the backgrounds. I'm not lying when I say that this game has, by far, the most stunning backgrounds of all the VN's I've ever played.)

But I have to admit that I do see where you're coming from with the devs. I'm sure they're very lovely people IRL, but to their followers, they seem...distant and occasionally, in some situations, a bit hostile.

I'm not sure what exactly it is, but devs like the fellas of GBPatch, BlackTabby, and Foxglove seem a lot more welcoming in comparison, so I do see why that could be off-putting!

But in the end, it doesn't matter that much to me personally. Yes, a nice and welcoming atmosphere helps keep the excitement up - especially when paired with well written status updates - but in the end, I'm not conversing with the developers. I'm just playing a game, and I never minded separating art and artists all that much.

I literally just finished playing A6 like 30 minutes ago, only to enter the tags and find people acting entitled that the MC isn't the prettiest, most special revolutionary princess in the whole universe and therefore the game is bad and the writers are bad and everything is bad.

Obvious statement here but it needs to be said again: the game is free. If you don't like the story, stop playing. Your personal dislike doesn't make it objectively bad.

The game isn't done. It's going to be 10 chapters long and we're on chapter 6. If anything, Nerissa being alive gives us more options since before the MC was pigeonholed into being the ruler and sole reformer of a super corrupt system.

It's a VN. The plot is more or less set in stone. Yes your choices can influence the story, but you aren't the messiah protagonist come to save the galaxy. If you want that experience, play Mass Effect like the rest of us.

TLDR: you're basically the MC from Twisted Wonderland, hope this helps

Devlog #5 - Celebrating the Little Things.

Good timezone, here’s my June progress update.

Unfortunately there isn’t much to inform. Most of this month was spent running around preparing for my move to another US state, and dealing with the stress that came out of it. So not a lot of progress has been made on the VN.

Instead I thought I’d share something a little different.

Back in August of last year, when I first decided I’d start this silly VN project, I bought myself a little notebook. An A6 spiral notebook with 120 pages, so I can write out and discuss my thoughts. Now, almost a year later, I’m five pages away from filling up the entire thing.

I think that’s pretty fucking cool.

Most of the contents aren’t useable considering I scrapped the VN premise midway through, but there’s still some character/worldbuilding/story notes in here that I know will be important to the final product. And most of all, I like how I can see my thought process written out. Even though I may not have an outline or a script, I’m happy this serves as a reminder that I’ve still made progress on this weird little project.

I’ve already bought a second pocket notebook, and I’m looking forward to filling that one out as well.

That’s all for now. Next month will also be a short update as I’ll still be in moving hell, but I’ll make sure to post my progress update nonetheless.

Actually, i indeed draw the other cast too; i just don't want to upload my fanart of them yet for now -hey, i have anxious moment too, y'know 😂-. I like the whole crew, after all.

The reason why i always make fanart of Damon is simply because i like him since the start. And when i like a character in VN, i usually have this tendency like-- where i don't play the other routes yet and focusing on the one that caught my attention first. If that route isn't completed yet, i'd wait until it is, before moving to the others.

I've been itching to play Ryona's route, to be honest :'). So, when A6 is done, which will make Damon's route completed too, i'll play Ryona's route next.

Also, since you seem to be into Vexx (besides June), if i remember it right, i think i've seen someone from deviantart make Vexx fanart often(?). I think the artist is called.. Lawrichai? You can check their DA and type that name. As on tumblr, i think i've seen someone called... Mein? Who draw Vexx too.

I'm not active as much as i'd like to check others who make a6 fanarts here, sadly :'); because I knew i would forget how much time passed and abandoning my work if i start scrolling non-stop 😂. But still, the only time i can spare is uploading my fanart work as appreciation to the devs for making that (aside from liking it, of course).
