My Jikook Journey
Part 2 of my intro.
From "multi-shipper" to "...wait a goddamn minute."
This will be a messy and detail-lacking overview because I could easily do an individual post on each thing I mention here and delve deeper (AMA!).
When I became an ARMY in 2018, I was excited about the treasure trove of fanfics now available to me. The ship didn't really matter, but my bias was/is Jimin (bias wrecker Tae then) so the very first fic I read was a vmin camping one (there was only one sleeping bag, gasp!). For me, shipping meant I'd read fanfics or save fanart of certain pairs together because in a fictional sense/in another universe, they make a good couple. I think this is a healthy approach, keeping that boundary between reality and fiction.
When I mentioned to my k-pop fan step-sister that I was reading vmin, she gave me a weird look. She said taekook is THE ship of BTS, which confused me because vmin seemed to be closer and have better chemistry than Tae and JK. Turns out, she was right. Searching by most kudos on ao3, you get a shit ton of taekook. I accepted it readily and just thought I must be missing something since I was a baby ARMY, so I read those super popular fics and started to enjoy taekook too. I started to focus more on them because... it felt like that was what I was supposed to do.
It's a common problem, isn't it? Baby ARMY who are open to shipping are quickly found and "guided" to taekook before they have a chance to glance in another direction. If they try, taekookers, who are the majority in the shipping sphere, will convince them that taekook is THE ship. Even if they aren't ARMY (my step-sister), they know that much. As a new fan, you just want to fit in, so you'll go along with what's most popular. Some people eventually find their own way, but many don't. Asking questions is vital, but if you do it aloud, you risk getting attacked by a small but extremely aggressive portion of the most infamous fanbase.
Even back then while just innocently reading any well-written fic I could get my hands on, I noticed that Jungkook was usually portrayed as a lot edgier and darker than he really was (manifested the 2023 JK aesthetic) and Taehyung was constantly portrayed as... Jimin. Especially in fan art. For some reason, a lot of the time, the appearance/vibe/personality of Taehyung was truer to Jimin than to himself, and that confused me. "Why not just make it Jungkook x Jimin?" I kept seeing them trying to force Taehyung into the dynamic that Jimin has with Jungkook when their own dynamic was perfectly fine.
Slipping down the pipeline, I started to watch taekook moments/analysis videos because I thought gotta be missing something, right? That's how I found out people are convinced they're dating, and it wasn't just a fun fic/art thing. The videos themselves were... something. There were just way too many red circles, too much slow-mo, and too much mind-reading going on for me to take any of it seriously. Plus, the moments that weren't exaggerated were just close friend skinship. Hell, Taejin were doing more sus shit together than taekook.
And yet people insist on taekook even when taekook do nothing to insist on themselves.
At this point, it was deep into 2019. Jikook were wilding in 2019. Even I was noticing all the... little things that made me raise an eyebrow. The touches that lingered just too long in rather intimate areas, the fond/awed looks at each other, the shameless flirting, the complete lack of physical boundaries, and the normalness of it all between them. That's telling. Even though I was mainly a taekooker with a shit ton of fanart and fics saved to my phone, if you looked at my liked YouTube videos around that time, I had jikook moments videos saved, not taekook, because their moments were just more fun/juicier to watch overall. They just interacted differently than they did with other members.
A quick example would be a video compilation of taekook holding hands. Sure, they're holding hands, maybe even interlocking fingers, but they're usually standing side by side and looking in different directions or just having a neutral expression. But if you watch a jikook one, not only is it much longer, but it's just different. I feel like I'm interrupting sometimes. Even in such a simple action like holding hands, there's a softness, an intimacy there that doesn't exist in taekook. Jikook wouldn't just be holding hands (usually for absolutely no reason), they'd be looking into each other's eyes, smiling sweetly, fully turned toward each other, attention completely captured by the other. How can I explain the look in their eyes? It just doesn't exist with vmin, yoonmin, jihope, etc.
Sidebar: All of those pairs have flirty/sus moments as most really close friendship dynamics do, but they're lighthearted to me and never invoked a true sense of.... whoa whoa whoa, hang on. If Jungkook and Jimin were my close friends IRL and I saw the way they are together, my alarms would go off. As either, "Oh my god, they're fucking," or "Oh my god, they wanna fuck each other." People always say, "Oh, Jimin's like that with everyone." No. No, he's not. Pay attention. Really pay attention to the differences in the dynamics between members. None of them have the "same" relationship. Especially pay attention to how the rest of the members react to Jikook.
Anyway,
So here I was noticing this... deeper intimacy in simple interactions with those two (because I'm a human being with eyes and life experience), and yet my Twitter timeline would just dismiss them entirely. "I love their friendship," "Wow their brotherhood is so beautiful," and "They're all so close," and normally these statements wouldn't bother me because technically they're true, but I started noticing that taekook or yoonmin would brush shoulders and everyone would be like, "Omg taekook/yoonmin married/boyfriends/real," over nothing. Their moments are cute/sweet/funny, but never more than that. The blatant hypocrisy did frustrate me a little, but ultimately I didn't overthink it; I didn't want to be delulu or look too deeply into anything because I still thought I must be missing something. Taekook is the most popular for a reason, right? Right?
But Taekook died for me when Tae told Taekookers to get out of their imagination. I respected that from him and took it at face value. It was the most aggressive shutdown of shipping we've ever had. I couldn't brush him off. It's disrespectful. He's uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, over the next couple of years, Jungkook and Jimin only got more suspicious in the minor interactions and in the big staple moments. Rosebowl. Hickeygate. Etc. Everyone was bending over backward trying to explain away the things these two did with each other, and it's always the same excuses. I was also trying extremely hard to think of any reason other than the simplest one because I didn't want to be delulu.
Because there was no way two members of a boyband were actually in a long-term relationship together. Especially in a conservative country.
Ridiculous. Unrealistic. Delulu.
I was basically telling myself in a mirror that they were just extra super duper close friends with muddy boundaries that meant sucking ears and giving neck hickeys was okay. I did allow there to be the thought that, maybe they're friends with benefits and that unavoidable intimacy now bleeds through into their regular interactions.
That opinion carried until 2023.
Isn't that funny?
2023.
The year so many jikookers gave up and bemoaned that those two weren't close anymore or had broken up is the year that finally convinced me.
What tipped me over?
Jungkook's vlives.
The way he kept watching videos of Jimin when he could just phone him. It reminded me of me watching Jimin, but I'm just a fan; I watch those videos because it's the only way I can appease my yearning to be close to and connected to Jimin, and absorb everything that he does or says or is.
Jungkook doesn't have that limitation, so why's he sitting there like a lovesick puppy with the fondest/most loving eyes when he could have Jimin over with just a call? Why's he sitting there looking like he's also yearning for something he can't have like us, the fans, when he can have it? He has Jimin's number. You don't need to watch yourself tease Jimin. You can just go do it. Just text him, bro.
It felt like he just wanted to bask in Jimin without interruption, without distraction, without having to force his attention elsewhere. Beyond being incredibly sweet, it also felt like Jungkook was making a statement, a point, because he kept doing it. Why? Is he somehow obsessed with his friend and bandmate whom he's seen almost every day for over a decade? If it was to promote him, he really didn't have to do all that? He didn't do it for the others, not to that extent.
Watching Jimin, talking about Jimin, singing Jimin's songs, fkn playing Letter on guitar. (The naked vlive flirting session? Lord, what.)
The man kept having vlives with a significant Jimin focus. He insisted on it enough times that it felt like he was trying to slap some sense into me. His insistence bothered me enough for me to finally do a deep dive into jikook.
Down the rabbit hole, I went. The more I learned, the more my jaw dropped. Where the fuck was all this info on my timeline when these motherfuckers were celebrating the most basic kpop boy interactions as if they were wedding vows? I even ended up seeing pictures/info we as fans were never meant to see at the bottom of that hole. If you know, you know.
Eventually, I ended up on this video (bless this fucking channel).
youtube
I want everyone to understand that I had zero knowledge of established relationship timeline theories. I went into this video blind, just trying to find the point in time when JK started to warm up to Jimin. That's not what I found. I found something so much better.
Especially 2013-2015 had me in awe. I think I cried. Jimin and Jungkook had a fattest, cutest mutual crush on each other. Absolutely. And because they were young, not that famous, and still rookies with media and camera training, we get a lot of insight into those two that we wouldn't get in later years when they learned how to mask and behave more "idol"-like. Jimin was especially loud, almost sadly loud. If you haven't watched the timeline of at least those early years, I implore you to. It actually blew my mind and broke/healed my heart. It's really bittersweet to see two teenage boys with little to no experience in anything romantic trying to come to terms with themselves while also coming to terms with each other. It's like watching a coming-of-age romance movie.
I saw clear shifts from when the relationship hit turning points in certain years. I proposed a timeline in my head based on that. Imagine my fucking surprise when I found out other people have also come up with timelines, and more surprising yet, they were all unbelievably similar to mine, down to what changed in what half of the year. I, who had no previous knowledge that this was even a thing. I just noticed it all on my own. We were all seeing the same thing. The same changes. No red circles, no slow-mo, no mind reading. It's all in the body language.
I panicked a little because overall it seemed too good to be true, so I reached out to a taekooker friend to send me her best evidence videos and receipts because I just had to make sure I wasn't going totally delulu here. I needed to see that the other biggest ship had interactions and moments on the same level with that same consistency, maybe even their very own relationship timeline to bring me back down to Earth. But... there's nothing. Really, there's nothing between taekook. Not one moment where I was like, oh? You'll find hours-long jikook content videos that are absolutely jam-packed with content, significant content, but that sort of depth just doesn't exist for taekook. Instead, you get conspiracy theories.
I watched most of the videos on that best of jikook channel and several other staple channels. It wasn't as if I bought into everything presented. I still rolled my eyes at many things that were blown out of proportion by some creators, and jikook isn't free from red circles and slow-mo and bullshit. And yet, I was still overwhelmed by the mountain of crisp receipts dumped on my head.
Jikook have much, much more solid evidence supporting the theory that they are together than evidence against it. I took the facts as they are, took my social experiences for what they are, took my psychology background for what it is, and concluded that they are most likely together, probability-wise. At the very least, they are the ONLY pair in BTS that have ANY legitimate possibility of being romantically involved. If jikook isn't real, then none of the other ships have any hope whatsoever, let's not kid ourselves. It's them or none of them.
They also have much, much more evidence that they are together than with any random man or woman you wanna throw at them. There needs to be valuable evidence or a total shutdown for me to tip the scale. I'm going to need Jimin or Jungkook to state, "I am not dating anyone at all," or "Get out of your imagination," or a bighit relationship announcement, or a clear video of lip-on-lip action or very intimate interaction with someone else.
Frankly, I don't give a single fuck about a grainy pic/video when it's 2023 and there's no excuse for that. I don't give a fuck who owns the same vase or cooking pots. I don't give a fuck if either of them hugged a woman. These are not evidence. These aren't even as good as the worst Jikook evidence.
At this point in time, Jikook is still the only viable option with the information we currently have available to us. This is my opinion and I stand by it.
At the end of the day, the thing I want most is for Jimin to be happy. Currently, it seems that Jungkook makes Jimin the happiest (as Jungkook says). As long as that holds true, I'll be here. If that changes at some point in time, I'd accept it.
But until that day comes, what the fuck else am I supposed to think?

💯 agreed with you about fiction. It’s not the problem of the fiction per-say it’s the fact that people cannot separate fact from fiction, but I guess though that comes with reading about real life people in general.
I consume a lot of writing of all different kinds but I’ve always had a soft spot for fan fiction, from years gone by, but I read mostly Jikook at this point, and love being recommended works from people like yourself.
It’s interesting to me that this book has come about due to hatred of a member though,, someone so wonderful being so vilified for a ship of two people who have zero chemistry atp. Jimin doesn’t deserve that, not at all, especially bc Jikook writers mostly value all members. I know writers will take into account what they perceive to be the members personas, for example Hobi is always sunshine, Joon always intelligent, Yoongi pensive but thoughtful, Tae the goofy arty best friend and Jin the handsome charismatic charmer, but every fic I’ve read so far has been respectful of them.
There is only one darker fic I’ve ever read where Tae was the ‘bad guy’, and he was a bad guy, but again, it’s fiction, I read the tags, knew that going in, and in the end he did have some humanity and it was done well. I know though that isn’t him irl. I guess replace the name and you have something akin to Colleen Hoovers most famous book/now movie. That sort of dv. I do like mild dark romance, i think it can draw us in and takes a hold on us, twilight for example or fifty shades are the same ilk but in a way that it’s softened for public consumption, it edges darkness and allows readers to touch the surface of that world.
I’m rambling but all this to say that fiction is important and it allows us escapism, just like television or movies. It’s an important medium but people reading ff need to take that into account, that it’s fiction.
And always always read the tags!!!
This!!
READ THE TAGS
And I've been into fanfiction since Xena (I'm fucking old okay 😂😂😂😂) so like you, I've got a soft spot for it.
And I'll admit, wattpad stories tend to use the members as villains more as opposed to what I've seen on a03. And truthfully, there's bad writers in every ship, the Jikook tag included. But...when it comes to Jikook stories, at least mainly on a03, they're all close friends, and Tae and Jimin usually have an extremely close friendship. Authors like AnnieV and ChimmyxKookies always have Vmin as precious platonic soulmates. And even if they dated another member before they got together, there was nothing horrible about the person. It's usually an amicable break.
This need they have to take someone as beautiful and loving as Jimin and turn him into a monster for monetary gain baffles me. I guess I'm giving people too much credit to hope that they could separate fantasy from reality, but apparently that's asking for too much.

I think what makes it worse is that while 98% of Jkkers don’t hate Tae, 99.9% of Tkkers hate Jm and actually think this way. I do read aus and the ones I’ve read either have Vmin and solo mates or TKK as friends. The majority are always so wholesome with the drama being between outside characters.
It’s literally a on going thing between OT7 Jikooker fic writer (which are a lot) and OT2 Jikookers about when they choose to support Tae over Jikook. If Tkkers didn’t actually feel that way I don’t think many would have a big problem with it.
It’s the fact that they actually see Jimin as an abusive, homewrecker, who knows no boundaries, that is making people so mad. Also the fact that so many “Armys” are rallying behind the writer/publisher but don’t move like this for Jm or Jk against Tkkers. Jm’s dad was getting dragged for a fan signing that didn’t happen (don’t expect those “Armys to care” but Tkkers were dragging JK’s mom for talking about Jm when Jk spoke to her in the phone…no one care to defend her from Tkkers but you would defend this “book” in the name of “she changed the name”? Who fucking cares about the names being changed? The origin of the book is still what matters.
Did you say 98% of jokers don't hate Tae???
Where🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Were you on Tumblr yesterday????
Didn't see a bunch of them losing it over vminkook comments I kept making on here??
They just as bad. But I don't see them writing fictions painting him as some thorn in Jikook's flesh because he isn't and they know it.
She changed the names to avoid copyright issues. It's just like the After book series on Harry Styles. They even went and made movies out of it. I think 50 shades was fanfic too.

Distinctions between Cute and Sus
I guess this is common sense but in the shipping realm, common sense is often MIA.
I'm deep into shipping so I've been around these waters quite a bit now and have noticed most so-called 'my ship is real' moments are just very, very cute. But definitively romantic? Nope.
Cute moments are totally ship-worthy but they are not significant as proof the two people are involved in a special relationship.
Exercise #1
The members are close to each other's families.
Jimin called out "Eommoni~" to Jk's mom and Jk's mom told Jimin "I love you!".
RM and Jin's family got together to watch Bangbangcon. RM and Jin's dads are great friends who hang out daily.
Jk often imitates Suga's dad and Suga said that his dad calls Jk gentle/softie.
Are Jikook, Namjin, Yoonkook in romantic relationships because their families are close?
Ans: Seventeen is in a polygamous marriage. Hoshi says 'hi' while eating galbi with Joshua's mom in LA.
Exercise #2
The members often hang out together in private.
Jikook and their Tokyo trip. Nuff said. Only two who went on a long distance trip together so far.
Vmin used to do long walks on the pier when they couldn't sleep during their Japan tours.
Taekook and their recent outings skiing, bowling, watching a musical.
Vope who went on a candlelit rooftop dinner date.
Sin who went biking and fishing during their long break in 2019.
Were Jikook, Vmin, Taekook, Vope, Sin all on romantic dates?
Ans: Let's just pretend for a second that friendly hangouts are a thing. Yes, even between two men. I know this can come as a shock to some but deep breathes, it's alright.
Exercise #3
The members love skinship.
[Insert X amount of hugs, kisses, massages, butt slaps.]
Are [all 21 BTS ship names] in a secret relationship?
Ans: Right, because the 21-ships orgy fan fictions you read on ao3 is but a glimpse into their open-mindedness and deviance.
To think I wrote the answer part before finding the example...and was spoon fed confirmation down in the comments thread 😭
Exercise #4
The members know private details about each other.
Jin knew when Jk took English or drum lessons.
V loved to show off Jhope's sleeping habits on variety shows.
RM knew Suga was going to see the dermatologist the next day after filming.
Jk knew V recently went to get nail care.
[insert X amount of instances they showed certain members their solo work before release.]
Are Jinkook, Vope, Namgi and Taekook (and more) accidentally revealing how much attention they pay to their partners?
Ans: Contrary to popular belief, the members still talk to each other after the cameras are cut.
Exercise #5
They look great together. In the group photo, the two of them stand out as 'that couple'.
[What's this? Top tier all-male group hides three couples and loner Sunshine cried asking 'Where's my other half?'] Read p9 for the full story
Are Vmin, Yoonkook, Namjin, Jikook, Taekook, Jihope, Jinkook, Minimoni using the chance to show off their relationships?
Ans: This is the very reason why tabloid mags and clickbait articles still have readers.
When you see your OTP interacting, that excitement and happiness is from the same place in your brain that activates when you get a sip of hot cocoa after coming inside from a raging blizzard. You find them cute, lovely, more of that please! But it's just that. Those moments show the chemistry, rapport or good relations between the two. It doesn't automatically support them as 'boyfriends/girlfriends'. It does not Define the relationship.
Jinkook have plenty of cute moments. Plenty. But those don't say 'They're dating'. I can show my friend a video of them hugging, smiling at each other, playing around, but I can't stop the video and ask "Now do you see how in love they are??" My non-army friend will think I've finally gone bananas from the internet. Lots of moments that I find cute about Jinkook fizzle to bits once I lift them out of the shipping realm. Very very squeal-inducing, but does not define them as a couple.
I gave so many counterexamples of what not to consider when trying to ship a 'real' couple. So what're the correct things to look for? Ha, if I had solid examples, I wouldn't still be floundering here on the internet. In the realm of shipping, the correct answer is: no single moment can prove that a ship is real. Shipping is fun but if you want to be serious about it and actually consider if the two people are dating irl secretly, guess what, it's detective time. If you don't have a recorded confession, well it's time to get down to the nitty gritty, start theorizing, find evidence and make your stand. It's work and effort now, not just appreciating the cute moments as they appear on your tl. Unfortunate I know.
Legend says there exists another kind that is more thought-provoking and nuanced. After seeing such instances, the correct reaction should contain a little bit of self-doubt, discomfort and a pinch of 'Let me rewind'. And the next thought following should be 'that can't be. I'm reading too much into it. They're just brothers.' And then somewhere down the line you might join me here. These are moments you spotted in the wild and not in a shipper edit. The moment has to be organic.
Of course, that goes for any ship at all about any two people on the planet. Who's to say whose instincts are right? ☺️

Vmin - Season's Greetings 2022 (explicit)
Jimin (a thief) likes pretty and shiny things. Taehyung (fate reader) is pretty and has shiny things. Can he resist the alley cat?
(please have in mind these outfits)
Taehyung woke up with a bad feeling that morning. He didn't know why but he woke up with a bad feeling.
He went through the day and met all the clients he had booked and, just as he was finishing his workday, he got a call and he looked at the phone. It said "Jimin". He rolled his eyes but decided to answer.
- Good afternoon. Do you still have time for one more client? - He heard Jimin ask from the other side of the phone.
- Why? - He asked back in a dry tone.
- I just want to know a few things about my future. - Jimin said.
- You? - Taehyung asked chuckling ironically. He started to realize where the bad feeling was coming from but decided to give Jimin a chance.
- Yes, me. - Jimin confirmed.
- Yeah, yeah, sure. When can you be here? - He asked.
- Anytime you want me. - Jimin answered in a flirty way.
.
Jimin was known as a thief for shiny things but always managed to escape all the accusations because people never had any proof. He was pretty good at what he did and how he did it.
Taehyung had a lot of shiny things but he only thought about that when he hang up the phone and looked around him.
They knew each other from their school time, they used to go to school together and do pretty much everything together. But, as they chose different paths for their lives, they grew apart. Taehyung didn't approve of Jimin's way of living and Jimin never believe in what Taehyung did, he always thought it was all fake.
It pained them both to grow apart from each other because they both loved each other very much and even had nights where they would please each other in a more than friend's way but they decided to never talk about that again. (although neither of them forgot about it).
They had met a few times after starting their jobs but Taehyung got mad at Jimin because he would always mock him and say his job was all fake so Taehyung barely talked to him ever since.
.
After around 30 minutes, Jimin knocked on Taehyung's door and Taehyung rolled his eyes and took a deep breath before opening the door.
-Hey. - Jimin said and smiled.
- Hey. - Taehyung said back and they both just stared at each other for a few seconds before Taehyung stepped to the side to let Jimin through.
They both looked at each other from head to toe and both gulped. Jimin was wearing skinny black leather jeans, a black shirt with a white one under and a blazer, lots of chains around his neck, and gloves just covering his fingers. He had his black hair to the side and a few strands of hair falling over his forehead.
Taehyung had black pants, a white shirt a long black jacket with shiny patterns and pearls on it.
-Go on to the room, I'll be there in a sec. - Taehyung said pointing to the session room. Jimin nodded and went there. Taehyung had a camera on the room and went to the screen to see if Jimin was capable of stealing something from him.
Jimin went around the room, seeing everything Taehyung had but Taehyung noticed that everything he picked up to see more closely he would put it back down and he found himself smiling looking at the screen.
Jimin looked at the door again and then sat on the chair, waiting. Taehyung joined him and sat across the table and reached for the cards but Jimin stopped him.
- I'm not here for that. - He said. Taehyung rolled his eyes and looked away.
- Of course not. You don't even believe in this. - He paused and then looked back at Jimin with a piercing look. - What do you want then? - He asked.
- Just wanted to see you. - Jimin said smirking. - I've been thinking about you a lot. I miss you. - He added never taking his eyes off of Taehyung's eyes.
Taehyung did not expect that and just stayed silent, not sure what to say.
Jimin got up and went closer to him.
- No! - Taehyung said also getting up and putting his hand in front of him. - Don't. I know what you're trying to do. Just don't. - He added and Jimin smiled.
- So I still have some kind of effect on you. - Jimin said. Taehyung chuckled ironically rolling his eyes.
- You wish. - He said.
- I know you still remember those nights. - Jimin said trying to get closer again, making Taehyung take another step back.
- Stop. And we agreed to never talk about that again. - Taehyung said.
- But I can't stop. I can't stop thinking about it. - He paused. - About you. - He added and got closer again and Taehyung hit the wall behind him and he put his hand on Jimin's chest to stop him from getting too close. He felt his chest muscles and looked down at his hand and then back up at Jimin, who was smirking. His muscles were not too defined but they were just how Taehyung liked it.
- Come on, stop resisting TaeTae. - Jimin said trying to get closer again, pressing on Taehyung's hand.
Taehyung looked away and zoned out for a couple of seconds and then looked back at Jimin.
- You know... - He paused. - I had a bad feeling all day ever since I woke up. Now it makes sense. Never thought it would be about you if I'm being honest. - He rolled his eyes again.
- And why am I a bad feeling, Tae? - Jimin asked smirking. - Because you don't want... - He stopped and then corrected himself. - I mean, because you can't resist me and miss me too? - He asked trying to put his hand on Taehyung's waist but Taehyung's grabbed his wrist, tightly, looking straight into his eyes.
- I said don't! - He said and Jimin smiled.
- Hmm... But you see... - Jimin paused. - I like pretty and shiny things... That's why I like you. - Jimin said, softly, and caressed Taehyung's face. - You're pretty. - He said looking at every part of Taehyung's face and then passed his hand over the pearls on his jacket. - And wear shiny things. - He looked back at Taehyung's eyes. Taehyung hadn't moved at all but he did all of a sudden.
- You're saying that just to keep mocking me and my job so please, just get out. - He firmly said letting go of Jimin's wrists and going near the door of the room, pointing at it.
- Why would I say you're pretty and that I like you to mock you? That doesn't even make sense. - Jimin said getting close to Taehyung again. - Plus... - He added, not letting Taehyung answer. - I see where you've come. - He said looking around the room. - I'm not the best person to judge how you make money because you know how I get mine. - Taehyung was going to say something but Jimin put a finger on his lips. - And about that story of mocking your job, I am sorry, I was stupid back then. Obviously, I don't think like that anymore. - He said and took his finger off Taehyung's lips to let him say something.
- Yeah right. - Taehyung said rolling his eyes. - And your thoughts changed just now? After all these years? - He asked ironically. He wasn't looking for an actual answer but Jimin gave it to him anyway.
- What? No! Of course not. - He said shaking his head. - But I didn't know how to make you answer me and give me a chance to talk. - Jimin explained. - And I am trying to get my life together... - He added almost in a whisper. Taehyung chuckled at the last part. - I am serious, Tae. - Jimin said. - I even thought you could help me out. - Jimin was smirking now.
- Me? - Taehyung asked laughing.
- Yeah, you! You know you helped a lot when we were younger. - Jimin said. Taehyung rolled his eyes again. - HEY! - Jimin raised his voice a bit and pointed a finger in Taehyung's face. - Stop rolling your eyes at me! - He said. Taehyung raised one eyebrow.
- Why? - He asked and smirked.
- It pisses me off. - Jimin said and Taehyung laughed.
- And if I keep doing it? What will you do? Hit me? Or better... you'll end up stealing something from me, right? - Taehyung said playfully but also a bit serious.
- If I wanted to steal something from you, I would've done it already and you would've known. - Jimin said.
- How could I know? - Taehyung asked and Jimin chuckled.
- You think I didn't notice your little camera? - Jimin asked pointing at where Taehyung had his camera.
- Hmm... I see. - Taehyung said. - So If you hadn't seen the camera, you would have stolen something. Good to know. - He said turning his back on Jimin and was going to start walking away when Jimin grabbed his hand and turned him around, wrapping an arm around his waist and gluing their bodies together.
- I would never steal from you TaeTae. Camera or no camera. - Jimin said and looked at Taehyung's lips. He was too close for Taehyung to keep resisting.
- Let me go. - Taehyung whispered and tried to push Jimin by his chest.
- Oh come on. - Jimin smirked. - Why do you keep resisting if you want this as much as me? - Jimin asked and got even closer, still staring at Taehyung's lips. Taehyung tried to move back but Jimin held him tighter by the waist. - Tell me you don't want it. - Jimin simply said and finally looked up at Taehyung's eyes. - Just tell me you don't want it and I'll stop. - He said. Taehyung didn't even blink and Jimin waited but Taehyung didn't say anything. - That's what I thought. - Jimin said and Taehyung sighed, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Then he kissed Jimin himself. Jimin let go of his other hand and Taehyung grabbed his face with both hands while Jimin wrapped the other around Taehyung's waist to bring him even closer (as if it was possible).
The kiss began messily but as they calmed down, it became slower and more passionate and then they finally parted from the kiss and they both sighed.
- Wow... - Jimin let out. - I sure missed that. - He said smirking. Taehyung chuckled and rolled his eyes, smiling. - Don't! - Jimin said about him rolling his eyes.
- You know... I kind of want to know what you will do if I don't stop. - Taehyung said smirking. Jimin grabbed his neck and pushed him down on the table, making Taehyung fall on his back.
- No, you don't. - Jimin said and Taehyung smiled putting his hands in the air.
- All right, all right. I'll stop. - He said and Jimin smiled but didn't let go of his neck.
- Good boy. - Jimin said leaning over Taehyung.
- No this table, please. - Taehyung stopped him. Jimin pulled back and pulled Taehyung back on his feet too, still by his neck.
Taehyung smiled seeing Jimin respected his workspace now.
- What are you smiling for? - Jimin asked.
- The old Jimin wouldn't respect my workspace like this. He wouldn't care. - Taehyung explained.
- I told you, I'm not the same I was back then. - They both smiled softly and Jimin finally let go of Taehyung's neck and went behind him, putting his hands on his waist. - Lead the way then. - He whispered against Taehyung's ear. Taehyung got goosebumps and started walking towards his bedroom with Jimin following, never taking his hands off his waist.
Jimin was blown away by how big Taehyung's house was and he smiled seeing that the decoration was totally done by Taehyung.
They got to his room and Taehyung closed the door and Jimin put himself in front of him, grabbing his neck again, making him the door with his back.
- I'm glad to see you've got a big house. - Jimin said and Taehyung smiled. - Glad to see you've got everything balanced to how big you are too. - He added looking down at Taehyung's crotch. Taehyung chuckled. - At least how big I remember. - He slid his hand from Taehyung's neck down his torso and grabbed his cock through the pants, making Taehyung close his eyes and take a deep breath. - How could I forget? - Jimin got even closer. - Look at this! - He whispered against Taehyung's neck while rubbing his cock slowly. - Damn, I missed you so fucking much. - He added and licked his neck up to Taehyung's mouth and kissed him, invading his mouth with his tongue. Taehyung let out a quiet moan which made Jimin smile.
Jimin reached for the collar of Taehyung's jacket and undressed it. Taehyung did the same with Jimin's blazer.
Then, Jimin took Taehyung by his waist and led him towards the bed, pushing him and making him fall on his back. Jimin bit his lip looking down at Taehyung, who smiled up at him.
Jimin got on top of Taehyung and kissed him everywhere he could. In no time, both their shirts were all over the floor and Jimin gently started biting down on Taehyung's nipple, making Taehyung moan and arch his back. Jimin stopped and looked up at Taehyung's face, smiling.
- Glad to know you missed me and my tongue too. - Jimin said and Taehyung laughed.
- Shut up. - He said, still with his eyes closed and his head back on the pillow, waiting for Jimin to keep going. Jimin smiled and continued kissing down Taehyung's torso, making Taehyung let out moans at the touch of his lips and tongue on his body.
Jimin got to the waistband of Taehyung's pants and stopped again. Taehyung looked down at him this time and Jimin smiled and went up to his face again.
- Are you still into all the teasing I used to do back then? - He asked whispering against Taehyung's lips, who smiled.
- Normally yeah, but right now I just want you to fuck me good. - He finally admitted and Jimin's eyes grew wide open. He didn't expect that answer.
Taehyung took one of Jimin's hands and guided it to his cock.
- Please. - He said against Jimin's lips.
- How desperate. I love it. - Jimin said and bit his lower lip. Then, he took both of Taehyung's hands and held them in one hand while the other took down the rest of their clothes. - You're bigger than what I remember, TaeTae. - Jimin said while grabbing Taehyung's cock and putting it in his mouth before letting Taehyung say anything.
After blowing Taehyung for a while, he stopped and grabbed his own belt from the floor and tied up Taehyung's hands so he could have both his hands free to do whatever he wanted to Taehyung. He tied up his hands and put them behind Taehyung's head.
- Don't move them! - He warned Taehyung, who smirked. He did miss Jimin controlling his body.
Jimin pecked his lips quickly and got back down on Taehyung's body, stopping at his cock again and teasing his hole, making Taehyung moan desperately.
- Where do you keep the lube? - He asked and Taehyung pointed with his head. Jimin went to get it, along with a condom and came back in between Taehyung's legs. He put Taehyung's legs up and started to prepare his hole putting his fingers in, making Taehyung moan and arch his back.
While he worked with his fingers in and out of Taehyung, he also put his cock back in his mouth.
After a while, Taehyung's legs started shivering and Jimin stopped, making Taehyung whine.
- Not yet, babe. - Jimin said and Taehyung groaned at his words and let his head fall back on the pillow and started catching his breath.
Jimin got on his knees and positioned himself, entering Taehyung's hole, slowly.
- Fuck! - He said slowly sliding in. - You're still so tight. - He said when he was finally all in and letting them both adjust.
- And you still feel so good. - Taehyung said looking at Jimin and smiling. Jimin smiled down at him too and started moving, holding on to Taehyung's legs, one of them resting on his shoulder and the other on his hand, spreading Taehyung even more open.
Taehyung's orgasm was building up and he took his hands from the back of his head and took Jimin's hand that was on his leg, resting on Jimin's shoulder. Jimin tilted his head and bit his lip.
- What... Did I tell you? - He managed to ask looking at Taehyung's hands still tied up together with his belt. Taehyung was going to say something but Jimin hit his prostate and the only thing that came out of his mouth was a loud moan and his eyes rolled back.
- FUCK! Right there Jiminaaaah! - He screamed out making Jimin smile looking down at him. - Please, don't you dare stop! - Taehyung opened his eyes and gave Jimin a piercing look, letting him know he wasn't joking and so Jimin went even harder, building up his orgasm as well. - Jimin!! Aaaahh - Taehyung screamed out.
- I'm close too, TaeTae. - Jimin said and tried to calm his breathing. - Come for me, baby. - He managed to say before groaning. - Fuck!! - He screamed too letting his head fall back and they both came at the same time, screaming each other's names, with their bodies shivering and shaking at their orgasms, and then Jimin let himself collapse next to Taehyung on the bed, both looking at the ceiling, the same smile on their faces.
After catching their breaths, Jimin turned to face Taehyung, standing on his elbow, tracing lines with his indicative finger on Taehyung's chest.
- Does this mean we can go back to how we were? - Jimin asked. - Maybe more. - He whispered looking at his fingers.
- Maybe. - Taehyung simply said. - And about what you said about getting your life together... - He added after a while and Jimin looked up at him and nodded. - You can't change your destiny... But I can help you, yeah. - He smiled and Jimin smiled back at him. - All fates were determined from the day the universe was formed so maybe yours was to go through a bad path and then have someone make you change to a good one. - Taehyung was looking at the ceiling now and shrugged his shoulders.
- That someone is you then. - Jimin said. Taehyung looked at him and chuckled shaking his head. - I don't need you to see my future about this. I know it's you. I can feel it. - Jimin said, more serious now. - It's always been you. - He added and rested his hand over Taehyung's heart. - "Fate" didn't reunite us after all these years for no reason. - He said and leaned for a kiss and then passed his other hand over Taehyung's hair. They both smiled at each other.
- Do you want to stay for dinner? - Taehyung invited.
- Of course. Even for the night. - Jimin said jokingly but Taehyung nodded.
- Why not? - He asked smiling.
- Oh... - Jimin wasn't expecting it but smiled. - Okay then, it's settled. - Should we shower together too? - He smirked and Taehyung laughed.
.
They ended up showering, making dinner, and eating together.
Then they watched a movie and both fell asleep, Taehyung on Jimin's chest and Jimin hugging him.

Jimin
Summer vacation went by way too quick Jimin thought to himself as he got dressed into his school uniform. The past three months flew by faster than he ever expected. He stayed in Busan for two months of it to visit his family before coming back and doing a short week-long summer camp that went over various dance styles. Jimin had loved to dance ever since he was a young kid. There was something about expressing yourself with your body that made him attracted to the different styles. He focused primarily on contemporary dance because of how fluid it was. He felt like he was an angel when he was dancing, despite how clumsy he actually was. All of his worries went away when he was in his element dancing.
"Jimin, what's your schedule?" Jungkook asked as he had lazily tied his suit tie.
"Here," Jimin handed him his schedule and stood in front of him, trying to fix his tie, "You'll get flagged if you don't look more presentable. This isn't middle school anymore."
"I only have vocals in the third block with you!" Jungkook complained, "I wish I was older."
"Be quiet, getting older isn't any fun, JK," Hobi told him, "Let me see your schedule."
Jungkook handed his schedule to Hobi and they compared their schedules together.
"We have hip hop dance together and vocals!" Jungkook exclaimed, "I won't be alone!"
Jimin walked over and glanced at the schedules, comparing them to his own. Jimin would only have one class with the two of them and it was their vocals course in the third block. He prayed that Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jin had classes with him. He wouldn't have any academic classes with anyone after lunch, similar to Jungkook, due to the fact that none of them were in the same grade as he was. Hobi and Namjoon were both in their third year while Yoongi and Jin were in their fourth year together.
"We better get going or we're going to be late," Hoseok told them and grabbed his backpack, "Fix your shirt, JK, the buttons are mismatched."
Jimin laughed a bit and together the three of them walked out together while Jungkook struggled to button his shirt correctly. Outside, Namjoon was waiting with Yoongi, Jin, and Taehyung. All of a sudden, he felt his nerves kicking up again when he felt Taehyung stare at him with that same intimidating glance. He gulped slightly and glanced down at his feet to avoid being called out by Yoongi, who was prone to point out when others got embarrassed. There were many times where Jin, who got embarrassed easily, was called out by Yoongi for his ears being red.
"You still don't know how to button your school uniform shirt after being in a performing arts school system for so long?" Yoongi teased Jungkook as he hastily buttoned his shirt.
"It's been three months since I had to put one of these stupid things on," Jungkook mumbled as he fixed his shirt, tie, and jacket before questioning them, "There, happy?"
Once again, Yoongi was always calling people out. Hoseok was even a victim of it, but of course, he didn't receive as much flack from Yoongi as the other guys did. Hopefully Taehyung would become aware of that if he did start to hang out with the group going forward. He was surprised that he hadn't ditched them yet to find a more normal group of people. The six of them were very rowdy and obnoxious.
"What classes do you guys have first?" Namjoon asked them as they began to walk towards the elective building, "Yoongi and I have music production."
"Jungkook and I have hip-hop dance first block," Hobi commented.
"Jimin, please tell me you have vocals first block," Jin begged, hoping that he would have a course with one of his friends.
"Hate to break it to you, but, I have contemporary dance first," Jimin said and patted Jin on the shoulder.
"Ah, I'm gonna be alone," Jin sighed and miserably looked back down at his schedule.
"Taehyung has contemporary dance first too," Namjoon commented, glancing back at them as they all walked together.
Jimin looked back at Taehyung, "Looks like we will have a class together."
He simply nodded and stated in his signature deep voice, "I'm glad."
When they got to the elective building, the seven of them split into pairs, except for Jin who would have his first elective class all by himself.
"See you guys at lunch, let's eat outside," Hobi said before heading off down the corridor with Jungkook.
Jimin glanced at Taehyung when they were left alone and told him, "The size of the school is intimidating, that was my first thought when I got here."
Taehyung nodded and looked around, "It is, but it's really nice. I can't believe there's so many stories in these buildings."
Jimin chuckled a bit, "Come on, we can't be late on our first day. I'll have to give you the grand tour later."
The two of them hurried off to find their first elective, contemporary dance. They had to rush up three flights of stairs to get to the third story where the majority of the dance electives were. After walking down the hall, they found their class and went inside together. Luckily, they weren't late yet. The room was a lot like the dance classes he had taken last year. It had a classroom in one room, then in two sliding doors, there was a large dance studio. Taehyung probably understood why the school campus was so big, they had to accommodate for so many people.
The classroom was organized so that it had two seats per desk. Jimin glanced around before finding an empty desk and he walked over, sitting down. Taehyung took his seat next to him, draping his backpack on his chair.
"So you're from Daegu, what made you want to come here to SOPA?" Jimin asked him as more students piled into the classroom and filled in the empty seats.
"I've always loved to sing, I never had any professional lessons, but my father was very passionate about music," Taehyung continued, "He helped teach me to sing. After I finished my first year, they were holding tryouts in Daegu and somehow I got in. I've always wanted to come here to this performing arts school, it does have a reputation for forging success."
Jimin nodded as he listened to him. The way he spoke, it was hard not to tell that he had to be a great singer. He wanted Taehyung to talk more, because not only was it symphonic to his ears, but Jimin felt like he had a lot to say and just was too shy to speak up.
"What about you?" Taehyung asked, "What are you passionate about?"
"I love to dance, but my journey is a long story," Jimin said with a chuckle.
Taehyung flashed his intimidating gaze at him again and reassured him, "Don't worry, I've got time."

The Light at Dawn // vmin
A/N: This fic was inspired by Tae and Namjoon’s 4 O’clock. I highly recommend listening to it while reading for the full experience.
Genre: 110% fluff
Pairing: vmin
Word Count: 669
Summary: Taehyung misses early mornings with Jimin, watching the sun rise.
The tip of his nose bumped the chilled pane of the window as he watched sparrows flit about the sidewalk. His eyes were still heavy from sleep, lashes brushing his cheeks as he struggled to keep them open. The warmth inside the apartment was lulling him back to sleep and he sat up straighter, positioning himself so that the air from the vent wasn’t blowing up his pant leg.
It was still mostly dark out, the sky an inky blue. In the distance, he could see tinges of blushing pinks and purples as if someone had taken a paintbrush to the horizon. Streetlamps--their glow slightly dulled by the dawn’s light--illuminated sidewalks and the graffitied walls of apartment buildings. Occasionally, a passerby or two--some drunk and stumbling and some looking tired and drawn--would pass into the streetlights. But none of them were Jimin and Taehyung could feel his chest deflate every time he realized this.
Where are you?
Long fingers tapped impatiently on his thigh. His position on the wood floor was growing uncomfortable, an ache settling into his tailbone. His eyes flicked to the digital clock on the TV: 5:00am.
Where are you, Jiminnie?
His friend was usually here by now, a black silhouette against the backdrop of the rising sun. He’d just be coming back from a night of dancing at the studio, black hair mussed and dark smudges under his eyes. But then he would see Taehyung and he would smile, eyes turning to small crescents. It was a smile brighter than the gleaming August sun and Taehyung would smile back, jumping up to greet him on the front step. He’d have brought the jumbo sized candy bag from the convenience store a few blocks from Taehyung’s apartment and they would spend the whole morning eating it and watching the sun rise—
He flinched at the sound of Soonshim’s barking, his reverie fading away as he peered out the window beside the dog.
A silhouette was approaching the apartment. Someone small with tousled, dyed-blonde hair. The sun had crept up from behind the tall buildings and was at his back, casting his profile in a golden glow. His face was hidden by shadows but Taehyung didn’t need to see his face to know who it was.
“Jimin!” he said on an exhale of air.
Soonshim’s nails scratched at the window and from his parent’s bedroom Taehyung could hear his dad yelling to shut that dog up but he didn’t notice. He flung the door open, watery sunshine and stuffy summer air hitting his face.
“I’ve been waiting for you since four o’clock this morning! Do you know how much my ass hurts right now? Huh?” he yelled, voice echoing through the empty streets.
Under the rioting reds and oranges of the rising sun, a temporary hush falling over the city, it was almost as if they were the only two people in the world. Just him and Jimin and the morning light, drenching everything in golden honey. God, he missed these mornings, missed them all summer while Jimin had been away in Busan. And he knew that Jimin was homesick, he was always homesick since moving to Seoul, but he was homesick too, dammit. Homesick for Jiminnie and the way he always seemed to smell like the ocean and fresh air.
He saw a glint of white; that bright smile, and then running footfalls until Jimin collided with Taehyung’s taller frame.
“Just wanted to see if you would wait for me.” He said, voice muffled by the fabric of Taehyung’s pajamas.
His satoori was more prominent than Taehyung had remembered but he was still decidedly Jimin. He was still soft and small in his arms, the smells of Busan still clinging to his clothes and hair.
I missed you is what he wanted to say but instead, he tugged on Jimin’s sleeve and they climbed the firescape to watch the rest of the sunrise as if nothing had changed.

Chapter 15
>> Pairing: Taehyung x Y/N, Taehyung x reader
>> Words: 1,299
>> Notes: I’m going to upload a new chapter whenever possible. Please bear with my hectic schedule! You may leave asks and let me know what you think of my writing (:
Synopsis: You run into a rather strange man one night. He seems terrified, as if fighting battles only he can see. He seems detached from the world, talking only to a voice inside his head. Oh, another strange fact: he keeps talking about angels. You discover later that you were the angel he was praying to.
>> Previous / Next
***
Did you see that?
Why would he do that?
Young kids these days...
Loud whispers fill my ears as I frantically run from store to store in the bright linoleum floored shopping mall searching for the guy in a white shirt and grey jogging pants.
Where could he be?
The mall is huge, with endless space and a number of corners to run off to. He could be anywhere, or not in the mall at all.
Could he have run back to the apartment?
As observed in his impulsive actions, it is a plausible assumption.
Making my way to the escalator leading to the exit, I glance around one more time. My gaze fixes on a man leaning against the wall just around the corner of a shoe store. He seems to be breathing heavily, his hands grabbing his hair roughly.
I almost sprain my ankle as I jump off the escalator and run towards him. The closer I get to the man, the faster my heart beats.
I grab his sleeve as I reach him, demanding his attention.
Big brown eyes stare into mine with horror, thin lips quivering in fright. He looks like he’s seen a ghost.
“Why did you run off?” I ask, my voice high with frustration.
He doesn’t speak, his eyes frantically darting across my face.
His harsh breaths fill the space between us and his eyes lose focus. I suddenly notice the bags under his softening eyes, the healing lip split and sunken cheeks. How come I didn’t notice these before?
Releasing a deep breath, I look at him tenderly.
“Listen, I don’t know why you did what you did, but let’s just go home.”
He nods faintly, unsure of his choices. I wrap my hand around his bigger hand as I lead him out the mall into the cold air, continuing to my apartment hand in hand.
***
I place a hot cup of chocolate milk on the coffee table, smiling gently at the guy seated on the floor with his long legs spread before him.
“Do you know my friend?” I approach the subject cautiously.
He doesn’t speak at first and I almost give up the conversation when his booming voice erupts from somewhere deep in his throat, laced with a sadness I cannot understand.
“Kind of.”
Surprised by his answer, I inquire more.
“How?”
He sighs before continuing. “We went to the same high school. He was good friends with Jimin-ah.”
“Jimin-ah?” I ask, the name not striking a memory.
“He was my best friend,” he says, a noticeable sadness edging his words.
“Was...,” I don’t directly address my curiosity.
“He’s dead,” he dead pans.
A gasp leaves my mouth, unable to hold back my shock.
I can understand why Jungkook nor he ever brought it up. It was too personal and irrelevant to mention to someone you just met at work or ended up staying with for a few days.
However, what piqued my curiosity was the fact that Jungkook didn’t recognise the guy in my apartment although he claims they were school friends.
Maybe he has the wrong guy?
“Where did you school?” I ask, prying for more information than necessary. Afterall, the guy will be leaving in a few days, to wherever he came from and I’ll never see him again.
Strangely, the thought leaves a bitter taste on my tongue, almost as if having him around is what I prefer.
As dangerous as it is bringing home a stranger off the streets- literally- especially for a girl living by herself in the apartment with her only family, Kim Leah, on vacation with her phone switched off, I looked forward to spending more time with this mysterious stranger. There is still so much enigma surrounding his soft brown eyes and overgrown locks of hair falling haphazardly over his forehead.
“In Daegu.”
“Wow! That’s far!” I remark.
Wondering how he got from Daegu to Seoul and ended up homeless on the streets baffles me, raising questions and red flags which I push to the back of my head like every stupid horror movie character right before they are killed off in the most obvious way.
His long fingers wrap around the mug, lifting it off the low table and up to his lips. I watch him blow the steam before taking a small sip. He rolls the chocolate in his mouth before breaking into a breathtakingly beautiful boxy grin.
The skin around his eyes crinkle, his brown bangs bouncing above his crescent, smiling eyes. There’s something so pure and innocent in the way he smiles, as if he is the embodiment of the word kind in a cruel world. The sight of this smiling man takes my breath away.
“Do you like hot chocolate?” I ask, feeling my cheeks warm as I watch him.
He nods enthusiastically, grinning between sips. I watch him with sparkles in my eyes, feeling all sorts of warm and soft for this stranger.
He tilts his head to the side, staring at me while he continues to sip.
“Do you not like hot chocolate?” he asks.
“I am more of a coffee person,” I say, adjusting my hair in a bun.
He scrunches his nose in disgust, making his dislike for coffee known. Cute.
I burst into laughter as he watches me with curiosity.
Setting the mug down, he stares at the dark liquid, licking his lips before drowning the brief silence with an unexpected question.
“Does it feel nice?” he asks.
I stare at him quizzically, raising an eyebrow
“To laugh like that... to be that…. happy... does it feel nice?” he asks, his voice laced with a foreign emotion I cannot comprehend.
My mouth opens but closes again, unable to find an answer.
“W- Why’d you ask?”
“It’s been a while since I felt nice,” he says sadly.
My heart cracks as I take in the sight of the man before me, his frame hunched and the corners of his lips dipping low.
I fight the sudden urge to wrap my arms around him, letting him lay his head against my chest as I soothe his worries, letting him know that he can share his burdens with me if it eases some of the weight.
Instead, I seek an answer for the question plaguing my mind since I brought him over.
“What’s your name?”
He looks up quickly, his eyes large before he gulps loudly.
Fearing I made him uncomfortable, I reiterate my question.
“I was just curious because you know, it’s the first thing people learn about each other.”
Nodding in agreement, he takes a big gulp of the now cold chocolate before answering.
“Taehyung.”
“Taehyung...” I roll the name in my mouth. “Nice to meet you Taehyung” I smile.
A few beats of silence pass before I speak up. “Aren’t you going to ask for mine?”
“I already know” he says, his eyes sparkling.
“What? How?” I ask questioningly.
“Because I named you” he says, breaking into his adorable boxy grin.
“What?” I ask incredulously.
To say I’m confused would be an understatement.
“Daffodil” he reveals proudly.
“Daffodil? But why daffodil?”
“Because,” he smiles gently, his eyes softening. “I like Daffodils, it reminds me of home.”
My heart picks up pace as I start feeling light headed, unsure why my body is reacting this way.
He smiles before standing up and walking towards the kitchen, carrying the mug in both hands as if it was something precious.
I stare at his retreating back, the white shirt hanging loosely from his shoulders as I suddenly realize I want to know more about him. His last name, favourite colour and how crowded his hometown is.
And about Jimin-ah and why he holds the memory of him not just fondly, but sadly.

Sooyeon was in a new pair of Hoseok’s pajamas, perched atop the backrest of the loveseat in the living room. She gazed out the big, bay window. In all the excitement yesterday, she and the rest of the group had completely missed that another ten centimeters of snow had fallen. Temperatures were dropping so low in the evening that the snow had hardened in place. It would be at least another day before trucks would be able to make it to this private property, out in the middle of nowhere.
She sipped some coffee. She could see the trees better, but Sooyeon didn’t know if that was because the weather was getting slightly better, or if it was because she was actually wearing her glasses. She had just gotten them, and they felt awkward on her face.
Something behind her rustled, and Sooyeon turned to see Jungkook sleepily shuffling toward her. He was in his favorite oversized hoodie and sweatpants. He had a particularly strong case of bedhead. Somehow, he looked incredible.
“Good morning,” he said sweetly, his eyes still half-closed with sleep.
“Morning,” Sooyeon echoed, feeling shy.
Jungkook walked up next to her and looked out the window. He turned to Sooyeon and noticed her glasses. He reached over to touch them.
He smiled. “I like the style!”
“They’re new,” Sooyeon said, sheepishly.
“Can I?” Jungkook asked. Sooyeon nodded and took off her glasses, handing them to Jungkook.
“How do I look?” Jungkook asked, trying them on.
Does he really need to ask?, Sooyeon wondered. She smiled in approval.
Jungkook took the glasses off and turned them around to place them gently on Sooyeon’s face.
“They’re a little askew,” Jungkook noticed, reaching out to adjust them.
Feeling self-conscious, Sooyeon fixed her glasses herself, breaking their gaze and looking back at the window.
“I was supposed to go to the optometrist yesterday for a follow-up and adjustment,” Sooyeon sighed.
“Oh. Well, I’m glad you’re snowed in with us instead,“ Jungkook replied, blushing a little.
Jungkook reached out and took Sooyeon’s wrist in his hands. He brought her mug up to his mouth and took a sip of her coffee. He frowned and smacked his lips. “Bitter,” he replied, shaking his head and taking the mug from her.
Sooyeon chuckled. Jungkook was too adorable. Sooyeon thought she might vomit rainbows all over the place whenever she was with him. She was a schoolgirl again, feeling shy and unworthy in his presence.
He sleepily shuffled away, his socks rustling against the floor as he brought Sooyeon’s mug into the kitchen. He started to add tons of sugar and cream. He shuffled back, yawning while covering his nose with his fist instead of covering his mouth. Sooyeon bit her tongue to keep herself from squealing at how cute it was.
Jungkook took a taste of his coffee. “Ahhhhhh!” he sighed, his eyes wide open.
“Better?” Sooyeon asked, laughing.
Jungkook nodded. He turned to her and studied her for a moment, sitting like she was. Then, he handed Sooyeon the mug and gestured for her to move as he turned the loveseat around so that it faced the bay window. He pushed it a bit closer to the window as well.
He sat down on the cushions and kicked his feet up onto the window ledge. He turned to Sooyeon and patted the seat next to him.
Smiling, she joined him on the couch, and Jungkook inched closer to her, leaving a tiny gap between them. They took turns sipping coffee from the mug as they quietly watched the snow dancing in the wind.
Sooyeon was so intrigued by Jungkook. He was so quiet. And he was thoughtful. Attentive. He had a particular way of sensing her. When his eyes were trained on her, she felt like he could see through her. Could he tell what was going on inside of her at that moment?
“You OK, Noona?” Jungkook asked, proving Sooyeon’s point.
“Yeah,” Sooyeon replied, relaxed. “Why?”
He pressed his finger against the bridge of Sooyeon’s glasses, which had slipped down her nose. “You’re staring again,” Jungkook said, as he pushed her glasses up, the plastic frames sliding lightly across her skin.
She flushed and looked back out the window, mumbling an apology. His smug look answered her question: he knew exactly what he was doing to her. Jesus, calm down, Sooyeon told herself.
“Morning!” Jimin exclaimed, as he and Taehyung entered the living room.
Before either Sooyeon and Jungkook could react, Jimin was already climbing over the back of the loveseat and cuddling into Jungkook, talking into Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook teased Jimin by calling him “Jimin-ssi” over and over again in silly voices, poking his sides and making him giggle.
Taehyung, still not quite awake, settled in next to Sooyeon. He rested his head in her lap and swung his legs over the armrest. He turned to her, his cheek pressing against her thighs. He squinted, not ready to open his eyes to greet the day just yet. Sooyeon smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. He smiled and nestled into her.
“You two had breakfast already?” Taehyung asked sleepily, his deep voice resonating and tickling her skin.
“Just coffee,” Jungkook said, offering the mug to him.
“I can make more,” Sooyeon replied, but Taeyang was already taking a sip.
“Why are you facing the wall?” Namjoon asked, as he came down the stairs and joined them in the living room.
“We were watching the snow,” Jungkook explained.
“The sky is getting darker,” Jimin said warily.
Sooyeon agreed. Things were already pretty bad, and the storm seemed to be turning for the worse.
“Has Manager Sejin called yet?” Jungkook asked.
“No, just a text to check in,” Namjoon replied.
"Well, I’m tired of staring at the snow and waiting around for them,” Jimin replied. “I say we go ahead and get this shitshow started. I’m getting the wine.”
“Jimin-hyung, it’s so early,” Jungkook said.
“So we’ll pour it into coffee mugs,” Jimin rationalized, taking the mug out of Jungkook’s hands and walking to the kitchen.
“Let’s at least get something into our stomachs,” Taehyung proposed, as he and the rest of the group followed Jimin.
Jungkook and Taehyung started digging into the pantry for something to eat.
Jimin was already pouring wine into the fifth of eight mugs. “We don’t need food. You guys are lame.”
“You’re really trying to get fucked up at 9:30 in the morning?” Namjoon asked. He took the sixth mug before Jimin could fill it with wine. Jimin looked up at Namjoon and smiled mischievously, wiggling his hips a little.
Namjoon rolled his eyes and walked over to the sink.
He sidled up next to Sooyeon, who was washing her hands.
Sooyeon turned to him and noticed his empty mug. Namjoon smiled, just like he had done all throughout that first day. She felt a bit flustered.
“Good morning,” Namjoon said softly.
Namjoon didn’t want anyone else to hear. “Good morning,” Sooyeon responded, following his lead.
“Are you enjoying yourself?”
Sooyeon stifled a laugh. Namjoon always spoke so formally.
“Mm, I guess,” she answered jokingly, making him laugh.
Sooyeon finished washing her hands. She moved the faucet over to Namjoon’s side of the sink, and he filled his mug with water. “And you?” she asked him.
“Yes,” Namjoon replied. He leaned into her a little. “Though, I admittedly am not having as much fun as we did on Monday.”
Sooyeon scoffed.
“What about you?” Namjoon asked, raising the mug to his lips. “Have you had as much fun as Monday?”
“You’re getting competitive,” Sooyeon said, unsurprised.
“I like to win,” Namjoon said, shrugging.
“Is that what this whole... thing... is?”
“No,” Namjoon replied earnestly. “I’m just… curious.”
“Like you haven’t shared all the juicy details with everybody already,” Sooyeon said pointedly.
Namjoon smirked. “Can’t help it if we all have a bit of a crush on you,” he said.
Sooyeon couldn’t believe she was actually having this conversation. If this were happening to someone she knew, she would have pointed out all the unhealthy red flags that were going on with this little unspoken game they were playing. She would tell them to run away from this entire situation and not look back. But now, the human part of her was entertained, and curious, and turned on. Even against her better judgment. In fact, knowing that this flew in the face of her better judgment made it that much more delicious.
Namjoon winked at her before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and leading her over to the kitchen table, where Yoongi, Jin, Hoseok, and Jimin were now sitting with their mugs.
Namjoon downed his water and held out his mug to Jimin, who filled it with wine, like the others.
“I think I’m technically still drunk from last night,” Hoseok said, as he took a sip.
“Everyone’s OK with waffles, right?” Jungkook asked.
Taehyung added, “Better be, because we already started making them.”
“Wine and waffles,” Jin laughed.
“That’s my kind of breakfast,” Yoongi replied. “Jungkook-ah, can you make some warm syrup, too?”
“Yes, hyung!” Jungkook replied obediently.
Before long, the rest of the group had washed up for breakfast, and Taehyung brought a huge plate of waffles over to the table as Jungkook made the next batch. Sooyeon and Hoseok walked over to the cupboards to grab plates and silverware.
Jungkook put a bowl of syrup in the microwave, entered the time, and took four giant steps backwards, nearly bumping into Sooyeon.
“What was that?” Sooyeon asked.
“Oh, I just… I don’t like microwaves,” Jungkook replied sheepishly.
“They scare him,” Hoseok teased, walking over to the microwave and pressing the start button for him without having to be asked.
As they settled into their meal, Jimin raised his mug to everyone at the table, and they all did the same. “There’s nothing else to do, so let’s get hammered!” he exclaimed, making everyone laugh and raise their mugs.
By the end of their long, lazy breakfast, everyone was bright red, having completely finished four bottles of wine. Everyone was lying against something, unable to prop themselves up and relying on the table, or their chair, or the wall for support. All they could do was keep telling each other how miserable they felt.
“The room is spinning,” Jin said, his voice muffled. He was lying face down on the table, his head buried in his arms.
“Can you even see the room?” Taehyung asked, rubbing and blinking his bleary eyes rapidly. He was leaning against Jimin, who laughed softly at Taehyung’s expression.
“I can feel it,” Jin groaned. He raised a finger and drew slow circles in the air, describing the sensation with a silly-sounding, “WwwhhHHOOOAAaaaaaaAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAaaaaa!”
“My eyes are so heavy,” Hoseok replied. “I can barely keep them open.”
“My head is pounding,” Namjoon said, from somewhere on the floor.
“My head is... tingly?” Sooyeon said, narrowing her eyes as she listened to herself. Was she making sense?
Jungkook’s head was resting on the top of his chair’s backrest, and he was staring at the ceiling, his tongue hanging out of his mouth.
“How are you feeling, Jungkookie?” Sooyeon asked, looking over at him.
Jungkook just grunted.
“This is how we’re going to die,” Jin replied, voice still muffled. “In the middle of nowhere. In the snow. Young. Drunk.” He sighed. “Incredibly beautiful.”
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Yoongi said dismissively. “Just wait a while, and you’ll feel better.”
“Is that what you’re telling yourself?” Jin asked him.
“Trying to,” Yoongi said, pinching the bridge of his nose and squeezing his eyes tight.
“I don’t know what any of you are talking about,” Jimin replied. “I feel great!”
“My skin is so tight,” Hoseok said, sitting on his chair sideways and leaning his back against the cold wall next to the kitchen table. He was hugging himself and running his hands up and down his upper arms.
“You’re bright red, Hobi,” Yoongi said. He was sitting on his chair backwards, resting his head on his hands, which were propped up on the back of the chair. He leaned forward and pressed the back of his hand against Hoseok’s cheek. “And you’re really, really hot.”
“Why, thank you,” Hoseok joked, smiling cheesily.
“Water,” Sooyeon offered. “We should have some water.”
“Over my young, drunk, beautiful, dead body!” Jimin exclaimed. He suddenly, and rather gracefully, jumped to his feet. Taehyung momentarily tipped over but righted himself, folding his arms and leaning back in his chair.
Jimin started walking toward the wine cellar.
“Jiminie,” Yoongi warned.
“This is the drunkest we’ve seen Hobi-hyung,” Jimin declared. “We don’t know what’s on the other side of this! We’ve got to keep going!”
“Surely you’re not looking at this sad display of characters and thinking that what we need more of is wine,” Yoongi said.
“I’m not thinking that,” Jimin said, smiling wide before disappearing into the wine cellar. Moments later, Jimin ran back into the kitchen. He held up two bottles of vodka.
“Oh god,” Hoseok said. “Absolutely not.”
“C’mon!” Jimin exclaimed. “We can play a drinking game!”
“Why do we have to play drinking games?” Yoongi asked. “Why can’t we just sit here and enjoy each other’s company, like we have been? Why do we have to manufacture these social niceties to give structure to our connections instead of just letting things unfold organically---”
“Where are those cards from yesterday?” Jimin demanded, cutting in.
Taehyung jumped up to get the cards in the living room.
Everyone started ambling closer to each other around the kitchen table, getting ready to play as Jimin shuffled the cards.
“High-Low, “Jimin replied. “I’ll start.” He flipped the first card over. King of hearts.
“Will the next card be higher or lower?” Jimin asked, wiggling his eyebrows for dramatic effect.
“Lower,” everyone said, more or less in unison.
“Higher,” Taehyung replied loudly.
“R-really, Taehyungie?” Namjoon asked. “It’s a king.”
“I just have a feeling,” Taehyung replied confidently.
“Coming out the gate with that energy,” Hoseok reflected, nodding in respect. “Nice.”
Jimin turned over the next card.
Seven of clubs.
“Well, yeah, actually, in retrospect, that was probably pretty silly,” Hoseok told Taehyung.
“Drink up!” Jimin said, raising Taehyung’s mug to Taehyung’s lips.
Taehyung frowned. “It’s going to be strong, isn’t it?” he asked.
“All in one gulp, now,” Jimin replied, placing a finger underneath Taehyung’s mug and tilting it toward him.
Taehyung drank the shot in one go. It seemed to shake him out of his drunken stupor, making him wince and cough, forcing him to his feet.
“OK, I’ll flip for him,” Jimin replied, refilling Taehyung’s mug. “Seven of clubs. Your guesses?”
“Lower,” said Yoongi, Sooyeon, and Namjoon.
“Higher,” said Jungkook, Jin, and Hoseok.
Taehyung was still coughing in the corner of the room.
Jimin flipped the next card over. Six of diamonds.
Jungkook and Jin took their shots in one go, slamming their mugs down. Hoseok tried to sip his shot in the hopes that it would be easier. When that wasn’t the case, he gulped the rest down in failure. Jimin refilled their mugs.
It was Jin’s turn to flip. “Guesses?”
“Lower,” said Yoongi, Jungkook, and Namjoon.
“Higher,” said Sooyeon, Hoseok, and Jimin.
Taehyung had gotten some water, drinking it loudly as he returned to his seat.
Jin flipped the next card over. Two of hearts.
“Yes, I’ve gotten them all right so far!” Namjoon exclaimed.
Sooyeon, Hoseok, and Jimin downed their shots. “Woo!” Jimin cheered, refilling their mugs.
Sooyeon squeezed her eyes shut and made a face. “Tastes like college,” she reflected.
“Not grad school?” Namjoon asked, flashing her a smile.
“No, grad school tastes like tequila,” Sooyeon clarified.
Jin slid the deck of cards over to the next person, who was Yoongi.
Yoongi looked down at the deck. “Are we going to sit here for 52 rounds, just doing shots from these two bottles?” he asked.
“No, we’d definitely need a third bottle to finish the deck,” Jimin said, holding one of the bottles and inspecting it.
“Is anybody else getting hungry again?” Jin asked, getting up and shuffling over to the pantry.
“I am,” Jungkook replied. Sooyeon moved to stand and let Jungkook get up to get a snack, but Jungkook gripped her thigh to make her stay put. “Hyung, can I have some snacks too?”
Jin nodded, before walking into the pantry and smirking at Sooyeon.
She hadn’t stood up after all, but between Jin’s look and Jungkook’s hand, she definitely felt a rush of blood to her head.
Yoongi sighed and leaned forward. “Alright. Two of hearts. Guesses?” he asked, as he poised to flip the next card over.
“Higher,” mostly everyone said.
“Lower,” Jimin said, giggling, already holding his mug to his lips.
“You just want to drink more,” Yoongi accused.
“So what if I do?” Jimin asked.
Yoongi rolled his eyes. “If you want to drink, just drink,” he replied. “Why bring other people into it? Why go through the pretense of playing the game?”
Jimin laughed at Yoongi’s frustration. Yoongi didn’t realize that to Jimin, getting a rise out of Yoongi was part of the game.
Jin returned from the pantry, holding almost every bag of cookies, chips, pastries, candy, crackers, and other snacks that they had purchased for the week. “I’m so thankful to past Jin and past Jungkook for buying these for us,” he announced.
“Just pick a couple!” Hoseok exclaimed. “Don’t open them all, like you always do! They get stale that way!”
“Are you seriously angry right now?” Jin asked.
“How is that angry?” Hoseok demanded loudly. “Isn’t that just sensible? Don’t you want to be told when there’s a better way of doing something?”
“So, after Sleepy Drunk Hobi comes Angry Drunk Hobi,” Jin observed, ignoring Hoseok’s comments. “Well, at least we know where to stop things now.”
Yoongi flipped the card over. Jack of hearts. Jimin downed his shot and refilled his mug, and Yoongi went on another disgruntled diatribe. Things went on like this for embarrassingly long, until Namjoon’s authoritative voice cut through the noise.
“He’s calling!”
Namjoon fumbled with his phone, answered the call, and set his phone on the table.
“Hi, Manager Sejin,” he replied, looking around at the group. “We’re all here.”
“Morning, guys,” Sejin replied. “Have you all had breakfast?”
“Yes?” Jin replied, wondering if what they had had technically counted as a breakfast.
“Good,” Sejin said. “Listen, we know you guys might be getting restless, but we were wondering if we could upload some content today. Squeeze something out of the week while we’re stuck here.”
“What were you thinking?” Hoseok asked.
“V-lives,” Sejin answered.
The group immediately regretted everything that had taken place that morning.
“V-lives,” Taehyung repeated, looking at everybody.
“Yeah, well, there’s no way to get our crew to you, so we thought about doing something easy, something you’ve done on your own before,” Sejin explained. “Also, the label was thinking that there might be something interesting about having you all do V-lives at the same time. Fans could pop in from room to room. They said something about how it could be a fun opportunity to experiment with our engagement metrics, especially with you in North America.”
“Could we do it tomorrow instead?” Namjoon tried, looking at the group’s worried faces.
“They’re hoping you’d be open to doing it now,” Sejin said. “If it works well, you’ll do the same thing tomorrow.”
“Is there any way you could get us out of it?” Namjoon pleaded. “We’re kind of, well, we just… uh…” He sighed. “We’re just not up to it today.”
“Listen, I get it,” Sejin said, completely oblivious. “You’re tired, uncomfortable, probably stir-crazy from being cooped up---”
“It’s not that, it’s just---”
“We’re drunk! ” Hoseok yelled, annoyed, but always truthful.
There’s silence on the other end. And then an exasperated sigh. “Guys, really? It’s still daylight!!”
The guys exchange glances, unsure of what to say next.
“I already tried getting you out of it, but this trip has been a disaster,” Sejin admits. “Would it be easier to do it in groups? Do you think you could do three or four different V-lives, just one hour, each?”
The carefree look that Sooyeon had noticed on Namjoon’s face earlier in the morning was now replaced with a frustrated crease across his forehead. Namjoon seemed to be having this conversation telepathically with the group. As Sooyeon watched each of their faces pull together with resolve, Namjoon looked lighter and lighter.
“OK, one hour,” Namjoon said.
“Perfect, thank you so much,” Sejin replied. “And, hey, is Sooyeon there?”
“Yes, hi Sejin-ssi,” Sooyeon replied. “Can I help with anything?”
“No, but thank you for offering,” Sejin replied. “Just checking to see if you’re OK.”
“Yes, the guys have been really good to me,” Sooyeon said, momentarily wincing at how it sounded.
“Good. Thanks for sticking it out with them,” Sejin replied, forcing Jin to stifle a naughty laugh.
“So we’ll start the V-lives whenever?” Namjoon asked, eager to move on.
“Yes, sometime in the next hour. Just let the team know when you’re about to begin,” Sejin instructed.
They hung up, and Namjoon looked around the group.
“OK,” Namjoon began slowly. “I know this is going to be really hard, but---”
“What do you mean? This is going to be impossible,” Hoseok cut in, his breathing labored.
“And I’m so hungry,” Jin groaned.
“We have to pull together,” Namjoon said. “We’ve been drunk on camera plenty of times before.”
“Not like this,” Yoongi mumbled, rubbing his temples, all of it too much to take in at once.
“ARMY wants us,” Namjoon replied, clapping his hands to get them to focus. “C’mon, what kinds of stuff can we do for the V-lives?”
Jin looked down at his food. He got an idea. His eyes met Jungkook’s.
“Eat Jin!” they yelled in unison, Jungkook jumping to his feet and continuing to sing “Eat Jin” in several fancy vocal runs. “OK, me and Jungkookie are together,” Jin proclaimed. Jungkook was bouncing on his toes, his hands balled up into excited little fists.
“I’m so, so drunk. I seriously have no energy,” Hoseok complained. Coming from Hoseok, that truly meant something significant.
“Then why don’t we pair up?” Yoongi asked. “You always seem to find the energy to carry on with whatever nonsense pops into your head whenever we’re recording together.”
“As a tennis player, I can say this pretty definitively: your backhanded compliments are like nasty backhanded serves,” Hoseok replied.
“And as a bronze medalist, you must know your fair share,” Yoongi shot back playfully, making Hoseok scrunch up his face.
“Jiminie and I want to do a V-live together,” Taehyung volunteered, raising his hand. Jimin’s arms were wrapped around Taehyung’s waist from behind. Jimin’s head was resting on Taehyung’s shoulder. “We haven’t done one together in a long time,” Jimin added.
“Well, I guess that leaves me by myself,” Namjoon muttered to himself, as the others started chatting about what they planned to do.
“Are you sure I can’t help?” Sooyeon asked.
“I’m sure,” Namjoon replied. “We’ve got it. Just give us an hour?” He looked around the room. “In fact, let’s all meet back here when we’re done. We can watch each other’s V-lives together after they’re uploaded. At least it’ll give us something to do.”
The group acknowledged Namjoon’s instructions and started heading to their rooms to begin. Namjoon turned back to Sooyeon and said, “Sorry for the interruption. Will you be OK?”
“Of course,” she replied. “Let me know if you need anything.”
Sooyeon went up to her room and climbed back into bed. She was definitely still drunk, and she knew it would be a while until she would sober up.
She couldn’t sleep, seeing as she had just woken up a few hours ago. And she was mildly curious about what the guys were up to. At first, she tried to piece things together by listening to the random noises from the rooms, a mix of talking, music, laughter, and shrieks.
Then, she remembered her phone and reached for it on her nightstand. She noticed that she was dangerously low on battery, even though she was trying to use her phone only sparingly.
A text from Hana. Haven’t heard from you today. Call me when you’re free.
Even a sober Sooyeon would not be in the headspace to deal with that right now.
She swiped away the text and continued her search.
A compilation of old videos popped up. One of Jin, Jungkook, and JImin messing around in a hotel room, Jimin laughing helplessly and trying to escape as Jin and Jungkook teased each other. One of Yoongi and Hoseok doing face masks together. One of Namjoon and Jin doing an Eat Jin episode and laughing into their black bean noodles. One of Jungkook and Taehyung making paper carnations. One of Taehyung trying to get Yoongi to say “I love you” to him.
Is every moment of their lives filmed?, Sooyeon wondered to herself.
She looked at the clock and realized that only ten minutes had passed. She sighed and headed downstairs, hoping she could at least watch some TV without bothering anyone.
About an hour later, Sooyeon was in the kitchen, getting a glass of water, when the group started to find their way back to the living room.
“Oh, you guys, ours is so good,” Jin replied confidently. “You can’t tell that we’re drunk at all.”
He and Jungkook took their seats, but Jin nearly missed his target and just barely avoided falling to the floor.
“Well, you still seem pretty drunk right now, so I highly doubt that,” Yoongi replied, watching him.
“Oh yeah? How are you going to explain that?” Jin asked, pointing over to an already-sleeping Hoseok on the couch, next to Yoongi.
“Don’t worry, our V-live is awesome,” Yoongi said, as Namjoon joined them, crossing the room. “What about you, Namjoon-ah?”
“Just did a regular Q&A,” Namjoon said, clutching his laptop and plopping down on the floor, exhausted. “It was actually kind of interesting.” He started casting his laptop screen to the TV.
Yoongi swiveled his head to Jimin and Taehyung. “And what about you two?”
“We filmed for a bit, but then we ran into some technical problems,” Taehyung replied. Jimin had a goofy, still-drunk smile on his face.
“I guess we can watch the part that you filmed,” Namjoon offered.
“No, watch ours first!” Jin exclaimed. “It’s a masterpiece.”
Jin and Jungkook looked at each other.
“Ready, Jungkookie?” Jin asked.
“Ready, old man,” Jungkook replied.
Jin slapped Jungkook on the arm, making Jungkook drop the box of snack cakes that he was holding. Jungkook slapped Jin back, and they teasingly fought each other, screaming and making a mess.
“We have to set up again!” Jin exclaimed, pointing at the fallen camera. Jungkook leaned forward to fix the camera and re-position Jin’s laptop, which were displaying all the comments that were already coming into the livestream.
“Excuse us,” Jungkook said to the camera, waving to the camera apologetically.
“Yes, excuse us. This is not up to usual Eat Jin standards,” Jin replied, sitting back down next to Jungkook. They were buried in all the snacks they had brought upstairs, and each time they moved, the bags and boxes would crinkle and rustle.
“Hi ARMY, we miss you,” Jungkook said, waving.
“Yeah, we miss you so much that we have resorted to scarfing down all this comfort food to ease the pain,” Jin said, pointing to all the food. “Come snack with us.”
The livestream was awash with hearts and exclamation points at the end of sentences telling them that ARMY missed them, asking where they were, and asking what snacks they had.
“We are in a cabin in the woods doing some work,” Jin said, reading the comments, “but we always wish we could be with you.”
“And we’ve got candy, and chips, and some cheese square things,” Jungkook answered, holding examples up. “Oh, and Twinkies! I always try to get Twinkies when I’m here.”
A burst of hearts and messages start to flow onto the screen, and Jin and Jungkook exchange glances. ARMY knew from Jungkook’s last sentence that the guys were probably somewhere in North America.
“Let’s get to tasting,” Jin prompted, cueing Jungkook to keep it light. That was Jin’s style, anyway. He didn’t want to alarm the fans. It might be too much to share that they had been snowed in for the past couple of days, and if they started sharing more details about that, who knows what other details they might share.
Jungkook opened a packet of chocolates. “You know these. Everyone in the world knows these chocolates,” he said to the camera, holding up the wrapper. He handed one to Jin, and they both had a bite.
“It’s so sweet,” Jin said, narrowing his eyes and wincing.
“Yeah!” Jungkook exclaimed happily, popping the rest of the chocolate into his mouth. “Just like ARMY!”
“Oh, that’s fun, let’s do that,” Jin said, handing Jungkook the rest of his piece of chocolate and watching it disappear into Jungkook’s mouth in a matter of seconds.
“Do what?” Jungkook asked, linking his fingers.
“Let’s compare our snacks to ARMY,” Jin said, and another burst of comments exploded onto the screen. “Let’s see… this chocolate is like ARMY because it’s sweet…”
“And familiar,” Jungkook added. “We see ARMY wherever we go now, and it’s always so comforting.”
“And it’s delicious.”
A wave of hearts flowed across the screen.
“Chocolate also makes everything better,” Jin decided. “Just like being with ARMY makes life better.”
“Oh, hyung, that’s nice,” Jungkook said, nodding as Jin threw a cute smile to the camera.
“OK, what’s next?” Jin asked, looking down at their pile.
“The Twinkies!” Jungkook exclaimed, and Jin rolled his eyes. Jungkook handed Jin a packet as Jin complained, “We just had something sweet!”
“But these are a different kind of sweet,” Jungkook pointed out, as he unwrapped his snack and bit down on the soft, fluffy bread.
“So it’s more of a cake?” Jin asked, looking at the iconic snack.
“Have you never had a Twinkie before?”
“No. You always eat them all.”
“Well, eat it and tell ARMY what you think.”
Jin placed the Twinkie in front of his lips teasingly, puckering his lips. Hundreds of messages popped up onto the screen in wild anticipation, encouraging him to eat well. More messages popped up onto the screen from fans who said they had never wished to be a Twinkie more than in this moment. Even more messages popped up onto the screen asking Jin to do obscene things with the Twinkie. And even more messages popped up onto the screen asking people to calm down. Jungkook and Jin took turns reading the messages to each other, laughing at how suggestive and protective their fans were.
"Stop teasing ARMY and taste it already.”
Jin took a bite, and he considered what he was experiencing.
“I like it,” Jin replied, nodding. “It’s light.”
“Light and refreshing, like ARMY,” Jungkook replied.
“It’s similar to the kind of desserts we have back home.”
“Do you miss home, hyung?”
“A little bit. I always miss home when we’re away, but ARMY’s kind of like family at this point, always there and always comforting.”
“You heard that, ARMY? You and Twinkies are like our second home.”
Jimin was cracking up laughing, sloppily painting a heavy shade of pink over Taehyung’s left eyelid.
“This color looks amazing on you,” Jimin said, extending the line far past the corner of Taehyung’s eye.
“Does it bring out my rosy undertones?” Taehyung asked.
“What are you talking about?”
“I don’t know, I hear the makeup noonas saying stuff like that to each other all the time.”
Jimin laughed heartily. “OK, so now we’re going to do the same on your right eye, but with purple.”
“Not the same pink?”
“We’re going for a unique, ARMY-inspired feel today, a fashion-forward look.”
"Ah, so futuristic. You’re such a visionary.”
“I really am.”
Jimin wiped the brush that he had used and dipped it into a pot of the purple eyeshadow. He held the brush up to the camera. “Can you see that purple, ARMY?”
“You have to do the thing with the hand,” Taehyung said, placing his hand behind Jimin’s to balance the light for the camera.
“Yes, that’s better. See that, ARMY?”
Messages tumbled in like an avalanche.
“We purple you, too, ARMY!”
“Borahae, ARMY!”
Jimin hovered close to Taehyung’s face and started to drag the brush across Taehyung’s right eyelid, when Taehyung looked up at him and smiled.
“Don’t grin at me like that! You’re making a crease!”
“But you need makeup too!”
Taehyung reached blindly for something in the bag of goodies and pulled out a lipstick.
“Here we go.”
Taehyung raised the lipstick to Jimin’s lips, which were set in a focused pout as he worked.
“You’re taking this so seriously,” Taehyung said, his eyes looking wonky with the different shapes and colors painted on top of them.
Jimin grinned. “I am a professional, after all.”
Taehyung started to dab Jimin’s lips with dots of red. As Jimin struggled against him, wanting him to keep still, Taehyung missed his lip and accidentally dotted his chin.
“Ah! Sorry!”
Taehyung moved to wipe the dot away, placing his thumb on Jimin’s chin and slightly grazing his lips. They looked at each other in surprise, and then laughed. Jimin looked off-screen and jumped to his feet, and the screen suddenly went black.
“And another thing!”
Yoongi couldn’t hide his gummy smile as Hoseok was ranting in a blind rage. They were twenty minutes deep into newly-introduced #AngryDrunkHobi, whom the fans were loving all on his own. Yoongi barely had to do anything for the stream except set up the camera and enjoy the show along with them.
“Why is it that when you’re on an airplane, they tell you to keep your seatbelts fastened at all times, but there’s also a light that tells you when to fasten your seatbelt?” Hoseok asked, his words slurring a little bit. “That’s redundant! I think about it every time we fly, and at this point, it’s infuriating!”
“You’ve been ranting about travel this entire time, but you never say anything when we’re actually traveling,” Yoongi pointed out.
“Who am I gonna complain to?” Hoseok asked. “The pilots? The flight attendants? Risk getting detained? It’s not like they could do anything about the seatbelts, or the legroom, or the ridiculously small proportions of liquids we can bring in our carry-ons -- I have a grown man’s face, you know, and it needs a lot of moisturizer! And we already travel in a way that’s so organized and well-managed that it’s stupid for me to complain about, so now I look like a terrible pesron!”
Yoongi laughed. “We all have these things. We can’t let them be pent up for too long. The sunshine is giving way to the storm brewing inside. C’mon, Hobi, let it all out! Now’s your chance! What else are you mad about?”
“They didn’t renew my favorite drama!” Hoseok said, slamming his fist on the desk.
“How dare they!”
“And they stopped making my favorite shoes to practice choreography in!”
“Blasphemous!”
“Math!”
“The backbone of our progress to an advanced society, but OK!”
“Snakes!”
“With you on that one!”
“Don’t you have your list too?” Hoseok asked, nearly panting.
“Sure!” Yoongi exclaimed. “Like systemic racism!”
“One of humanity’s greatest ills!”
“Establishing unrealistic standards of beauty!”
“So true, and so problematic!”
“A world-wide, continued insistence on viewing gender as binary, even when history shows plenty of examples of it being fluid!”
“I feel a little shallow now that you’re listing actually important things, but yeah, let’s keep going!” Hoseok exclaimed. “We can’t be the only one who’s pissed off about stuff like this!” Hoseok narrowed his eyes and tried to read comments on the screen. “What makes you mad, Army?”
Yoongi followed the comments scrolling past, but so many were coming through that he could barely keep up. “Parking tickets!” he cried out.
“Whoever writes them are pigs!” Hoseok yelled.
“Pigs!” Yoongi agreed. “Someone else said that they think peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are dumb!”
“Sure, why not!” Hoseok exclaimed.
“Being underestimated!” Yoongi read out, nodding vigorously. “I hate that too!”
“Hate it!”
“Feeling like you have to please everybody all the time!” Yoongi clicked his tongue at the comment. “Absolutely!”
“Live life for yourself, ARMY!” Hoseok cheered as he jumped to his feet.
“Long work hours!”
“Don’t we know it!”
“Add to that, re-shoots and re-recordings only to find out that the first takes are the ones that are going to be used in the final products!”
“Oh man, how many times has that happened to us?”
Yoongi started to feel the vibe and play one of their angrier rap tracks underneath their conversation. Hoseok started to jump back and forth along to the rhythm. Yoongi bopped along, his head bouncing to the beat.
Messages kept streaming in, some of them containing lyrics of the song and elaborating on their own experiences with similar frustrations, some of them listing even more things that made them angry. Yoongi kept reading.
“Someone said, ‘People who walk slow!’”
“Yeah! Get out of the way!”
“Someone else said, ‘Getting detention that keeps me from watching your comebacks live!’”
“Yeah, that sucks!” Hoseok agreed. “In fact, I feel like I’m in detention now!”
“What do you mean?” Yoongi asked.
“I’m getting stir-crazy here! Aren’t you?” Hoseok asked, starting to forget that they had an audience.
“I mean, all things considering, it seems kinda fine,” Yoongi said, shrugging and watching nervously as Hoseok got amped up.
“But I want to get out and do something!”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know! I just have all this energy! I need to put it somewhere! I need to force it into something! Drill it down into something, inviting and aching!
“Uh, Hobi?”
“I need to move, and sweat, and twist, and work, and be completely exhausted and spent by the end of it!”
“Hobi, we---”
“And, it’s like, yeah, we have everything we need, and we have each other, and generally things have been fun this week, and we even have---”
By now, Yoongi could read Hoseok’s mind, and he momentarily shut the stream down in time to keep the words “this amazing fuck buddy Sooyeon to help release some of the tension” out of the public’s ears.
When the stream went live again, Yoongi was the only one on camera.
“So, that was fun,” Yoongi began, watching all the questions pouring into the stream. “Obviously, we’re a little, uh, overworked, and needed to let that out. Sounded like you all needed that too.”
Yoongi smiled. “Hobi’s asleep on his bed now. He’s tired himself out. Thanks for listening, ARMY. Know that whatever daily frustrations you have in your life, we’re here, feeling them with you, angered by them just like you are, and trying to seek solace. Let’s find it together.”
Namjoon usually preferred to do V-lives by himself, but he was already missing the group. Being stuck in this cabin was made easier by having other people to selflessly focus on. Leading the others gave him a sense of purpose, even when he didn’t have complete control over the situation.
He was trying to focus that energy onto ARMY now, reading comments and questions on the screen and doing his best to respond to them.
“Seems like there are lots of questions about when our next album is coming out,” Namjoon read, moving his eyes from the text on the side and to the camera. “We already have a production schedule, though the release date hasn’t been decided yet. Right now, we’re refining our concept, and we’re excited about the direction that we’re moving in!”
He looked at the screen and caught another question.
“Someone asked, ‘What is the biggest challenge you face when making these kinds of decisions?’”
He sighed. “It differs for all of us, but I get most overwhelmed when thinking about everything at once. We try to focus on the things that we’re working on presently, which, right now, is creating our songs. But we also have to think about the bigger picture. How each song fits or doesn’t fit on the album. What the visual concepts and aesthetics will be. Whether we’re sending a consistent message in what we want to say. There are so many decisions, and you hope that it all turns out the way you want it to. It never does. But I’m lucky to say that as a result of the group collaborating together -- and when I say group, I mean not just the seven of us, but our producers, sound engineers, makeup artists, stylists, directors, choreographers, and especially ARMY -- it always turns out even better than we initially imagined. So we need to trust the process, and trust each other.”
Namjoon laughed. “Wow. I think you all just helped me process some things. Thanks, ARMY.”
“Aw, you all had fun, and I was having a serious heart-to-heart like an idiot,” Namjoon replied, embarrassed. Even Hoseok was awake now, and they were all cuddled up against each other, commenting on everyone’s performances.
“But that’s why ARMY loves us,” Yoongi pointed out. “They like that we share things like that with them. They like getting to see that side of us.”
“ARMY really enjoys the silly things too, though,” Namjoon replied. “And I like how you all still brought it back to something meaningful.”
“That’s all well and good, but you knuckleheads saved some of the snacks, right?” Hoseok asked bluntly, looking at Jin and Jungkook.
“Don’t worry, there’s still plenty more,” Jin replied. “Well, except the chips. And the Twinkies. And the chocolates.”
“And the gummy worms,” Jungkook added.
“Right, and the gummy worms,” Jin agreed. “Oh, and those cheese things that I didn’t like at first. Those are also gone.”
“So considerate of you,” Hoseok replied, rolling his eyes and feeling his stomach growl.
Jungkook laughed, but Jin started to look upset about something as his eyes fell over Jimin and Taehyung on the couch, off in their own world.
“That was all you had?” he asked them, frowning. “That wasn’t even five minutes long.”
“Can’t help it,” Taehyung said, shrugging. “We had a situation.”
Jimin smirked.
“What kind of situation, again?” Jin asked. Jungkook, who was sitting next to Jin, placed a comforting hand on Jin’s knee.
“It’s like we said,” Jimin said, snickering. “Technical problems.”
“Your camera just happened to stop recording?” Jin asked. “A house full of fellow group members with backups, and you didn’t even bother to come tell one of us? Or ask for help?”
“Ease up, Jin-hyung,” Yoongi said, leaning forward protectively. “If they said they had a problem, they had a problem. There’s nothing to be done about it now.”
“Yeah,” Taehyung said, starting to grow anxious, “it’s not like we meant to stop recording.”
“So which is it?” Jin asked. “Technical difficulties, or you just stopped recording?”
Sooyeon started to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She exchanged glances with Jimin and Taehyung, who had looks of fear in their eyes. She surmised that Jin was not really one to come down this hard on the group like this, especially with outsiders around, and it was throwing everyone off.
Namjoon could also feel things starting to take a weird turn. “Maybe we should let this go,” he suggested to Jin, raising his eyebrows, “y’know, given our circumstances?”
“I actually would like to talk about this more,” Jin replied, uncharacteristically solemn.
“I’ll give you guys the room,” Sooyeon replied, hurriedly rushing up the stairs and disappearing.
The guys continued to speak to each other in hushed tones, some more biting than others.
“Do you have a problem?” Jimin asked Jin, as Taehyung placed a hand on the back of Jimin’s neck.
“All they asked for was an hour. We don’t have rehearsals or even need to film as much as we thought we were going to while we were out here, and you couldn’t spare just one hour,” Jin said. And then he softened. He couldn’t put up this angry front for too long. “I’m just trying to understand why you didn’t do anything.”
"We kind of got caught up in something,” Taehyung said.
“And what was that?” Jin asked.
“Nothing,” Jimin said.
If Jin or anyone else was going to react like this, Jimin didn’t want to bother explaining what happened. But Taehyung looked like he was about to burst.
“Just tell us,” Namjoon offered gently. “We promise we won’t get mad.” He turned around to Jin and furrowed his brow. “Right, hyung?”
“Right,” Jin said, nodding confidently.
Jimin took a deep breath. He exchanged glances with Taehyung, who smiled comfortingly. “Okay, then.”
“Noona,” Jimin had said earlier, coming into the living room as Sooyeon turned on the TV, “do you have any makeup with you?”
“Just some eye stuff,” Sooyeon had replied. “Why?”
“Taehyungie and I thought we could try a fake makeup tutorial for our V-live,” Jimin smiled. “Y’know. Just... playing.”
Sooyeon wasn’t expecting him to scamper up the stairs with her, but she laughed as he bounced along, grabbing the door frame and swinging into her room as she walked to her dresser and gathered her makeup.
“I’ve only got eye shadow, some lipstick, and some mascara,” Sooyeon said, emptying her bag and placing the makeup inside it so that it would be easier for Jimin to carry. She handed it to him. “But use whatever you like! There are makeup wipes in there too. And the brushes are all basically clean.”
“Thanks,” Jimin cheered, taking the bag in his hands. He looked at the floor, and then back at Sooyeon, bending the bag handle slightly. “Uh, will you come downstairs and maybe help us get started?”
Sooyeon smiled. “Sure.”
Jimin and Taehyung looked so cute, their eyes wide with possibilities as they looked at all the colors in the eyeshadow palette. Sooyeon didn’t tell them that her simple version could be bought at the nearest drug store, and that there were palettes out there that dwarfed hers in size and quality. But then again, maybe they knew. They probably had people surrounding them with all sorts of professional-grade magic. They probably had their own, branded with their names and faces.
“This one for the eyes, right?” Taehyung asked, holding up a lip liner brush.
“No, that’s for lips,” she said, pulling her eyeshadow brushes out and substituting them in Taehyung’s hand. “Use this for the eyes.”
Taehyung grasped Sooyeon’s finger as they exchanged brushes, and she thought of his head laid in her lap that morning, the soft curls of his hair falling so sweetly on his forehead. She smiled softly at the memory.
“Thanks, noona,” he said, grinning back up at her.
Sooyeon turned to leave them to it, but Taehyung called out.
“Can you stay, maybe?” Taehyung asked quickly. “Just kinda hang out? We can maybe pause the stream and ask you if we have questions?”
“Um, if that’s OK with you, then it’s OK with me,” Sooyeon said, uncertain. “But would I get you in trouble? Being here while you record?”
“Nah,” Jimin said, smiling at Taehyung, and then back at her. “Sit on the bed. We’ll sit in front of the closet door with our laptop. Show off some of our outfits as our background.”
“That’s perfect!” Taehyung exclaimed.
They got themselves settled, and Sooyeon sat on the bed, curious to see how these went.
“Hello everyone,” Jimin greeted.
“Hi ARMY,” Taeyhung greeted, throwing up a V next to his eye.
“By now you’ve seen all the V-lives we’re doing,” Jimin said. “If you’re here, you’ve made the smart decision and come to the best room.”
“Yeah!”
“What have we got in store for them, Taehyungie?”
“A fabulous makeup tutorial,” Taehyung said, holding up the mascara tube to the camera. “And if we mess around, probably a fashion show.”
Jimin gestured to the clothes hanging behind them. “Just for you, ARMY. Because you’ve been so kind and patient.”
Messages were exploding onto the screen, comments from thousands of people around the world begging to see a little bit of skin as they changed.
“Oh, there’ll definitely be skin,” Jimin joked, and Taehyung covered his face.
Sooyeon had to work extremely hard to hide her laughs as she watched Jimin attempting to fill in Taehyung’s eyelids with color.
But suddenly, Taehyung’s thumb ran across Jimin’s lip, and her mind filled with thoughts. Questions, really. How soft and plump they were against Taehyung’s lucky thumb.
She watched Jimin and Taehyung laugh, and she remembered the feel of Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook all cuddled up against her that morning. How warm and soothing it felt.
Jimin jumped to his feet, and he walked over to Sooyeon. Taehyung closed their laptop and turned off their camera, sensing that they were going to start again.
“Can we start over?” he asked, bringing her the makeup wipes.
“Yeah,” Taehyung said, the color blocks over his eyes making his face look like a Picasso. “I feel like there’s nowhere to go from this.”
“You guys are a mess!” Sooyeon laughed, opening the pack and pulling a makeup wipe out. “Here.”
Jimin knelt in front of her on the bed, stretching his neck to her and closing his eyes. Sooyeon laughed and wondered why. The only makeup he had on his face was on his chin.
As she cleaned him up, he sighed, making Sooyeon take notice. “That feels nice,” he said, his eyes fluttering back open.
“Good,” Sooyeon muttered quietly, watching him respond to her touch.
Jimin took Sooyeon’s hand in his and rested his cheek against it. His eyes seemed to suggest something… racy. But Jimin always looked like that. Sooyeon couldn’t help but notice the same look in his eyes throughout that trip, especially that morning.
“Now Taehyungie,” Jimin said softly, moving behind Sooyeon and running his hands through her hair.
Now, it was her turn to close her eyes and revel in his touch. And because her eyes were closed, she missed the look that Taehyung and Jimin shared, the smiles growing on their faces, and the way that Taehyung bit his lip.
Taehyung sat cross-legged in front of Sooyeon, and she opened her eyes at the feeling of the mattress shifting slightly. He laughed softly, smiling at her encouragingly. She smiled back and pulled a new wipe from the pack, caressing his eyes with it as Jimin rubbed her back.
“That does feel nice,” Taehyung agreed. “Refreshing.”
“And relaxing,” Jimin added, his voice low. “Right, noona?”
Sooyeon smiled, remembering their conversation and getting excited. “Yes.”
Jimin’s hands traveled down to the small of her back and to her sides, the stiffness in her muscles melting away as his dexterous fingers worked. A wave of sticky heat was covering her skin, and she was starting to sweat. She wondered where this was going, but not for too long.
Taehyung opened his eyes when she was done. They were actually sparkling. Sooyeon felt like she was in some ethereal, mellow universe, so different from her harsh reality. She felt faraway. She felt like a traveler, chosen for something strange and exciting.
Jimin wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into him, resting her against his chest. He placed his chin on her shoulder and nestled into her.
“Will you play with us, Noona?” he whispered into her ear.
She smiled and nodded.
Taehyung grinned and leaned forward, kissing her softly. He laughed, his voice cloud-like, yet deep, and he kissed her again, with more force, and parted lips. Sooyeon wasn’t expecting that from Taehyung, but then again, she wasn’t exactly expecting any of this.
Jimin ran his hands down Sooyeon’s thighs, and Taehyung grabbed her knees, spreading them apart as he nestled on the mattress in front of her.
Jimin kissed at Sooyeon’s neck as Taehyung journeyed down Sooyeon’s body, undressing her and taking her apart layer by layer. He slid her pajamas down and frowned when he found that her panties were still dry. He didn’t share this with Sooyeon or Jimin, but based on what everyone else had said, Taehyung felt like maybe they were doing it wrong. He gathered up his resolve and determined to make her come harder than she had with the others.
He planted himself there, kissing her and sucking on her flesh, making Sooyeon writhe.
“I-is the door locked?” Sooyeon asked, her breath hitching in her chest.
Taehyung understood now. She was self-conscious. He looked up at Jimin, who just smiled reassuringly at him.
“Don’t worry about them,” Jimin whispered, holding her breasts in his hands and rolling his head forward, kissing her shoulder and neck. She turned to him and shared a look, and they kissed. She finally got her answer. His lips didn’t feel like any one thing. They transformed with every move he made. At times, they were fluffy sofa cushions that she wanted to sink into. At other times, they were feathers, tickling her and making her giggle. At others, they formed a strong wall to lean her temple against when Taehyung’s tongue danced inside of her, making her wriggle.
“Nice?” Jimin asked.
“So nice,” Sooyeon moaned.
The feeling of Jimin on her mouth, and Taehyung at her warmth, was amazing. She had never had her entire body looked after at once, so many hands roving and soft moans filling her ears. She found it hard not to come right away, but she wanted to see how long she could last in this world.
Taehyung started stroking himself, watching Jimin and Sooyeon making out. His cock was hardening quickly, and he couldn’t wait to finally get a chance to experience what they had all been talking about, what had made everyone’s eyes glimmer with curiosity and excitement.
Jimin watched as Taehyung worked, getting sweaty. He reached forward to pull Taehyung’s shirt off of him, wanting him to get a reprieve from the heat.
Sooyeon felt a rush of cool air as Jimin leaned back and slipped his own shirt off. When he came back to her, she felt his strong chest against her skin, and she smiled.
Taehyung smiled. Sooyeon was wet now, and it honestly hadn’t taken much work to get her there. He was dying to know what it would feel like, how she would surround him, how long he might last.
Sooyeon felt Jimin’s naked cock rising against her back, and she leaned forward, trying to angle herself so that he could rub it against her ass. Taehyung got up and slowly wiped his mouth with his palm, making Sooyeon and Jimin smile devilishly at him.
“Come here,” Sooyeon whispered, taking his face in her hands and kissing him.
She traveled down from his lips, down to his chest, and down to his navel. Just underneath, Taehyung’s pants were still in the way.
Jimin nudged her forward playfully with the base of his cock, his balls slapping against her ass cheeks. “Get them off,” Jimin whispered, watching them, and Taehyung and Sooyeon laughed.
Taehyung laced his fingers together and placed them behind his head as Sooyeon pulled down his pants, releasing his thick cock.
Jimin bit his lip at the sight of it. He had always passively wondered what it looked like, kind of like he was curious about all the guys.
Sooyeon wanted it inside of her, anywhere inside of her. She hungrily wrapped her lips around the head and looked up at Taehyung, dripping at the sight of his eyes closing and his mouth falling open. A moan oozed out of him, dripping with wine, and vodka, and lust.
Jimin started stroking himself, resting the base of his cock in the small of Sooyeon’s back. She moved against him as she sucked Taehyung off, and the coordination in movement made Jimin and Taehyung look at each other.
“This is incredible,” Taehyung whispered.
Jimin could only nod.
Taehyung’s abs were starting to tighten, meaning that he was close. It made Jimin stroke his cock faster, licking his lips and watching as Taehyung unleashed everything inside of him into Sooyeon, who lapped it up deliciously.
Sooyeon smirked as she pulled away slightly from him and saw that Taehyung was still so hard, his cock twitching, so deprived for so long that his appetite would not be easily satisfied.
“More?” she whispered.
“Please,” Taehyung begged, placing a hand under Sooyeon’s chin.
She smiled and turned around, focusing her attention on Jimin’s aching cock. As she went, she arched her back and reached behind her for Taehyung, who grabbed her waist and pulled her to him.
He lined himself up and entered her, perhaps too quickly, but passionately. Sooyeon let out a little cry, a good cry, one that made Jimin quiver, still inside of her mouth.
Jimin’s eyes flashed up to Taehyung, who was grinning at him. They couldn’t believe how they had waited so long to try this with her.
Sooyeon started to slow down now, feeling her breasts and rubbing her pussy. She felt unbridled. Her thoughts had long left the bedroom door, which actually wasn’t locked. She felt Jimin and Taehyung move together, their upper bodies connecting somehow above her. She didn’t care. She was focused on getting hers.
She grinded against Taehyung, and he railed into her, clutching at her waist and stomach and rubbing her clit as she dropped her hand to support herself.
Jimin was full-on fucking Sooyeon’s mouth, grasping onto her hair, leaning forward when it was beginning to be too much, but careful not to hurt Sooyeon or bury her into the mattress.
Taehyung straightened again, leaning back and wincing.
“Come for us,” Jimin said.
“J-Jiminie.”
“Do it.”
Taehyung shuddered, and he grabbed onto Sooyeon, grabbing fistfuls of her ass, unloading everything he had pent up and carried around with him that week into her. A moan was building in Sooyeon’s throat, Jimin could feel it, and though he was close, he pulled himself out of her, letting her ride the wave.
Taehyung dropped to his knees, weak and utterly drained, resting against the bed frame for support. He saw himself start to drip out of her, and he reached up and licked at it, tasting himself.
“Wait.”
Jimin appeared on Taehyung’s side of the bed as Sooyeon moaned, her own orgasm still rustling through her.
“My turn.”
Jimin bit his lip and smiled at Taehyung as he took Taehyung’s place, jamming himself into Sooyeon and creating aftershocks as heavy and shattering as that first earthquake that Taehyung had pounded into her.
Sooyeon thought she might pass out. She groaned into the sheets balling up her hands into fists and biting her forearms to keep from screaming. She looked back and saw Taehyung hugging Jimin from behind, his body pressed up against him, his arms encircling Jimin’s waist as Jimin thrust into her over and over, resting his nose and lips against the side of Jimin’s neck. Taehyung was whispering something, but Sooyeon couldn’t hear over the sound of flesh against flesh. She didn’t need to. She knew it wasn’t for her, but she was incredibly happy anyway.
Jimin bucked forward suddenly, bringing Taehyung with him, and Sooyeon knew that he was incredibly close. She rode him with everything she had left, the weight of both Jimin’s and Taehyung’s bodies making everything feel more urgent. Jimin grunted loudly, but then it was muffled, and everything went dark.
They lay together for a while, naked, wrapped up and on top of each other, panting until they caught their breath.
“I feel so relaxed,” Sooyeon said finally, rolling over and winking at the both of them.
“That’s all we wanted,” Jimin said, moving the hair out of her face and holding her closer to him.
She reached up for him and kissed him softly. And then, she motioned for Taehyung, who pressed forward, his chest against Jimin’s back, to kiss her.
“That was new,” Taehyung whispered softly, as they all rolled onto their backs and looked up at the ceiling.
“You’ve never had a threesome?” Sooyeon asked.
“No, no. We have,” Jimin said. “Just not like that.”
Sooyeon understood what he meant. She smiled at them. And then she sat up a little, resting her weight back on her elbows.
“Water,” she replied. “I think I’ll go get some.”
She rose, got dressed, and slipped out the door, leaving Jimin and Taehyung lying on the bed, sharing a blissful look.
“Holy shit,” Jin said.
The group sat there, silent.
“Damn,” Yoongi finally said, straightening. He looked at Namjoon. “Remember how silly you felt about your V-live?”
“Yeah, I regret nothing. It was awesome,” Taehyung said, dreamily.
“I… ”
Jin locked eyes with Jimin.
“You what, hyung?” Jimin asked.
“I’m proud of you?” Jin said, looking confused, but making Jimin and Taehyung smile.
“You can understand why we ended the stream, then,” Jimin said pointedly, looking at Jin, who nodded furiously.
“At this point, would it have even mattered if you kept the stream going?” Yoongi asked, smirking naughtily. “Like people don’t already tell us how we make them feel, what they want us to do to them. Like, people seem to like my fingers for some reason.” He looked down at his hands, and everyone followed his gaze, searching them for a reason why.
“They post stuff about how genius you must be with them,” Hoseok explained.
“You read the comments about me?” Yoongi asked.
“Well, I read the comments about everyone,” Hoseok answered. “Don’t we all?”
“Yeah,” Jimin said, a mix of embarrassed but happy. “People seem to like my lips, and they talk about them being everywhere on their bodies.” He shared another accomplished look with Jin, who winked at him.
“I get a lot of dimple talk and big dick energy comments. Someone even tweeted that they wanted me to put my dick on their forehead. It was kind of… hot…” Namjoon replied, getting lost in his thoughts.
“I don’t really read mine,” Jin admitted.
“People are so curious about your naughty side, Jin-hyung,” Yoongi answered. “They think you’re so cute that you must be hiding a freak inside.”
“They’re not wrong,” Jin said, wiggling his eyebrows and high-fiving Jimin.
“I always get comments about how I look in certain outfits,” Hoseok said. “There’s something about a vibe I seem to catch where people want me to destroy them.”
“You can be really fierce,” Namjoon agreed. “People are really into that.”
“What about me?” Taehyung asked innocently, making Jimin wrap his arms around him.
“People are so hyped about you right now,” Hoseok said. “You snuck up on most of them, but now you’re all they can think about. I think I read a comment with the phrase, ‘sex god’, in it.”
“Whoa. How do they know?” Taehyung asked, making the guys laugh.
“And Jungkook-ah,” Jin said, looking over at him. “Do you know anything about what people say about you?”
“They talk about my… well… they kinda talk about my everything,” Jungkook smiled sheepishly. The others already knew. He wasn’t the golden maknae for nothing.
“When it gets really bad, and I see comments like that, about people wanting us to fuck them senseless, I want to blow my brains out for a release,” Hoseok answered, running his fingers through his hair.
“Yeah, but we never get a chance to get it anymore,” Taehyung said dejectedly. “It feels good to get it now. To have it for ourselves.”
“Well, do you guys still… y’know… take care of yourselves?” Namjoon asked.
“Bro,” Hoseok said, looking at Namjoon like he was being ridiculous, like Namjoon wasn’t the one who had contracted viruses from porn downloads on their computer in the early days.
“We all still need it from time to time,” Jin said, nodding. “It’s just human nature.”
“I didn’t see you, but I heard you once,” Taehyung said to Namjoon, making the guys laugh.
“Really?”
“Yeah, early on. We were touring, and I was using your bathroom to wash up for the evening because Jimin was using ours. You were so tired from rehearsal. I don’t think you remembered that I was in there.”
“What the hell? So you were just in there, listening to me?”
“I didn’t realize what was going on at first, but when I did, I just put my headphones in and waited until you fell asleep,” Taehyung said, shrugging. “Didn’t take long.”
The guys cracked up, and Namjoon made a face. “I must have just really needed it,” he muttered.
“Unclench,” Yoongi said. “You told us all about Monday. We know you can last.”
“I actually did see you once,” Jimin said, smirking at Taehyung.
The guys cracked up. “Where did you catch him?” Jin asked.
“In his bed, under his covers,” Jimin said, making Taehyung blush. “He was so cute. Now I know that he winces when he comes.”
“I caught Jungkookie once,” Hoseok said, as Jungkook’s eyes widened. “He was lying on the couch in our first dorm, facing the back, and when he heard me coming, he just pretended to be asleep.”
“Me too,” Yoongi said, smiling at him fondly. “We were sharing a bed on a trip. Might have been another Bon Voyage. I remembered thinking, really? With me here and everything?”
“Maybe your presence was comforting,” Taehyung said, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Actually, I wondered if maybe you needed help somehow,” Yoongi said bluntly, making the guys howl.
“He was going at it in the green room bathroom once,” Namjoon added. “Right before a performance, I think.”
“Yeah, I think we’ve all caught you, Jungkookie,” Jin said, shooting him a similarly knowing look.
“I always thought I was being so careful,” Jungkook admitted, covering his face.
In the still of the night, after all the reminiscing and scrounging for dinner as they let Sooyeon sleep, Taehyung and Jimin laid in their bed, facing each other, staring at each other, Taehyung tracing Jimin’s lips with his finger. Jimin playfully bit him, making Taehyung snicker and poke him on the nose.
After a while, Taehyung had to ask. “Y’know when you told the guys?”
“Mmhmm?”
“Why did you leave out the last part? The part when we...”
Jimin shrugged. “I guess... I didn’t know how you felt about it. I didn’t want to share that until we talked about it.”
“Oh.”
Taehyung chewed the inside of his cheek. “Well, so, how did you feel about it?”
“I’ve been thinking about it.”
“And?”
“I still don’t know.”
“Yeah. Me either.”
Taehyung gazed at Jimin in the moonlight. His face was so consoling.
“What if…” Taehyung looked at the ceiling, nervous about what might happen if Jimin didn’t agree. “What if we try it again, just to see?”
“...OK.”
“OK. I guess I’ll start.”
Jimin licked his lips in anticipation, and Taehyung leaned forward, kissing him gently. It felt weird, but comfortable. Like they had done it before. Which they had once, earlier that day. But that simple feeling of familiarity wasn’t exactly what they were feeling. It was more like they had done it all their lives. Like it was unnatural not to. Like it was a punishment to keep it from themselves.
Someone’s hand traveled to someone’s waist. Another traveled to someone’s chest. They laid there, holding each other closer.
Jimin moaned as Taehyung’s lips traveled down his neck, his tongue blazing a new trail down his skin, one that had only been explored in shallow moments with friends or even strangers, pretty people who were just looking for some light. Now, it felt like Taehyung was etching something into him, something that wouldn’t easily be forgotten and that would only be his.
Taehyung seemed to note this, and he shaped his lips into a small whistle, blowing softly on the path he had traveled. Jimin shuddered. “Ooh,” he whispered. “That feels nice.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Their bodies were mashed up against each other now, their cocks swollen and aching. Jimin started to move his hips, and Taehyung thought about those handful of dance rehearsals that were burned into his brain, when Jimin was doing something amazing and steamy, and Taehyung was mesmerized by the circles and waves that his hips could create. Taehyung remembered thinking that Jimin was like water, flowing into each move in such a beautiful way.
And Taehyung was like air, Jimin was starting to learn. The way Jimin would reach out for him. Look to him for comfort. Hold him. Acknowledge him. Jimin needed him. He would gasp for him. He would die if he couldn’t have him.
“What do you think?” Taehyung asked, pulling away. “Do you… want to stop?”
“No,” Jimin breathed, raising his eyebrows.
“So you want to keep going?” Taehyung asked, smiling.
Jimin’s eyebrows settled back into their usual, relaxed place. “Yes. Yes. Please.”
“OK.”
“OK.”
Taehyung carefully placed his hand on Jimin’s waist, and Jimin pushed forward, signaling that he wanted more. Taehyung’s fingers slipped into Jimin’s waistband and felt down for his cock, already dripping. He thought of Sooyeon before, needing to get her wet. It was nice to know that Jimin was already there, waiting for him.
He carefully wrapped his fingers around Jimin, stroking gently at first, but with more force and vigor as Jimin moved against him.
“Fuck,” Jimin whispered, pulling away from their kiss.
Jimin scrambled for Taehyung now, wanting to make him feel what he was feeling. Taehyung sank into his grasp, his eyes rolling back, and his kisses lazier as his mind tried to hold onto all the sensations.
Everything started blurring together. They slid out of their clothes and laid back down on the bed, facing each other. Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jimin, and they rubbed their turgid cocks together, the feel of their skin against each other fresh and enticing.
“This feels so good,” Taehyung whispered.
“It’s amazing,” Jimin agreed. He looked into Taehyung’s eyes. “You’re amazing.”
They kept going, kissing and pawing and grinding until their breathing staggered, and ribbons of hot, sweet, sticky cum glistened on their torsos, mixing together like they had with Sooyeon before. Jimin had described the sensation of Taehyung’s cum around his cock and in Sooyeon’s incredibly warm pussy so wonderfully. Taehyung agreed that it meant something to him to know that they could still find new ways to wrap themselves up in each other, even after all this time.
“What do we think?” Taehyung asked, smiling and kissing Jimin again.
“More,” Jimin echoed from before, as they pulled away to hold each other and sleep. “I’ll always want more of you.”
