VMHQ Trina Week

Hel-LO, everyone! Trina Echolls here, star of stage and screen. 

You know, I love Veronica, so when she called me and practically begged for my help to host a extra special star character week here on VMHQ I just walked right off the incredibly glamorous set of Gigli 2 and raced to her aid. 

Well, I may have called her...and the director may have fired me...but that’s all just nasty details.

Anyway, now that I’m here, I can see why she wanted me. This whole blog thingy does seem a little...parvenu, but I’m glad to lend my helping hand to class up the whole affair. 

Let me tell you, it was ridiculously hard to find good press about me out there--my headshots are nowhere to be found on this tumblog and no one seems to want to talk about my incredibly complex and dynamic contributions to cinema history. If you want to change that, you can post meta, gifsets, paeans of adoration or, you know, whatever. Just make sure to tag them #vmhq trina week. Meanwhile, I’ll be firing my agent.

The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret

When you have it you want to share it, when you share it you haven’t got it anymore.

Maybe that’s why she feels like spilling. It’s an interesting instinct since no good could come of it. Veronica would still love her but it would cause her problems. She loves Logan too, and it would hurt her to have to side against him, especially when it would be so obviously wrong. And Lilly doesn’t want to hurt Veronica - the only one who willingly belongs to her.

Duncan is obligated, Logan doesn’t have a choice. That strange ambigious feeling of devotion and disdain - She wants him by her side, but as a partner in crime, not a lovesick canine. She’d hoped the cruelty of his childhood had rendered him equally ruthless. Instead he takes after Lynn. Lilly even prefers Celeste to her. Her mother’s deluded, but strong. Powerful enough to keep the cage door shut… for now.

Not that Lilly’s waiting idly. She’s collecting secrets, potent dark power that’ll blow this town wide open. Lilly will be seen as she is. And will be free. She’s eager to test her wings, she talks a big game about not needing anyone but she can’t know for sure until they’re all gone. Even Veronica. Maybe that’s the real reason she wants it out there, just to know. What Veronica would do if she knew. Where her loyalty truly would lie.

But Lilly won’t give it away. She has before. It’s meant relief but also loss and bathos. Nothing has changed. She’s learned by now. To keep it. Let it fuel her, make her go, glow, to wield the magic. In time she’ll have so much that it’ll never drain. She’ll always have substance and will be safe. Out there on the edge.

VMHQ Gia Week

I AM SO EXCITED!

You guys, its my turn to host VMHQ’s character week this week and I am so totally stoked! We can stay up late every night this week, eat lots of ice cream--non-fat for me, ofc--paint each other’s nails, and just have an amazing time!

Of course, throughout the week the librarians will be reblogging all sorts of fabulous content about me--meta, gifsets, art. 

But here’s the thing, I’m thinking it’s not enough for me to just HOST the week, I want to really get in there and help the blog out--do some good in the world, you know? I was taking a look at the tags page and it is A MESS. I mean, sure, it’s all nicely organized and categorized and easy to scroll through, but where is the style? Where is the flair? Where is the romance? 

What this blog REALLY need is some good shipname tags--you know, cute little smooshed up names to help people find and talk about their favorite power couples--like Bennifer, but obviously without the big angry split up right before the wedding because that is just rude, I mean, hello? People bought you gifts and, like made plans?

Anyway.

Character Sound Off: Keith Mars Edition

VMHQ character week continues and it’s Keith’s turn in the hot seat. Here are some things to ponder and to (hopefully) act as prompts for some much needed Keith-centric fanfic, art, and meta. Please remember to tag everything #VMHQ Keith Week so we can add it to the library.

When do you think Keith learned that Lianne was cheating on him with Jake Kane?

In Veronica’s “pink” graduation dream, Keith and Lianne seem very happy. Was this just wish fulfillment (the way Veronica wanted it to be) or was it an accurate depiction of their marriage prior to Lilly’s murder?

Did he suspect Veronica might not be his child from the very beginning or only after Lianne left him?

Do you think Keith was wrong to stay in Neptune, trying to prove he was right about Lilly Kane’s murder? Or do you think he should have moved to protect Veronica?

Was Alicia right when she accused Keith of selling out Veronica’s childhood?

VERONICA MARS: Poll Results

Logan and Veronica end character week with style (and some LoVe).

“Thank God character week is over,” Logan says, sprawling across the sofa. “That was exhausting.”

Veronica rolls her eyes. “Exhausting? YOU didn’t do anything.”

“Come on, snookums, do you really think most of our ‘friends’ participated out of the goodness of their hearts? There were threats to be delivered and promises—”

“Promises?” she squawks. “Please tell me you didn’t promise my services to any of your 09er buddies.”

“Ah, I may have implied your help with a favor or two,” he says. “But if they chose to infer that as something concrete... well, that’s not on me, right?”

“Hmph! If even ONE of them asks me to get dirt on their parents or find their missing pet,” she grumbles. “I’m going to charge them a special character week rate - DOUBLE my usual fee.”

“Uh, don’t you already charge the 09ers double, Love Bug?”

“Fine, TRIPLE, then.” She pokes his rib. “And if they don’t pay, YOU’RE going to have to make good on their bill.”

Logan bobs his eyebrows. “Can I pay you in trade?”

An hour later...

“Hey,” Logan says, sitting up and searching for his T-shirt. “Why don’t I get a character week? I want people to draw pictures of me, make gifs, and write odes to my magnif—”

“Your ego is already big enough,” Veronica interrupts, stealing the shirt from his hands and tugging it over her head. “Besides, there are TOO MANY posts about you. There was an entire series of gifs about your FACE, a hotel scene with all this”—she runs her hands across his abs—“on display in a pair of boxer briefs, which frankly, was reblogged way too often for my liking. AND there was even this long debate on the size of your ‘big stick’ - grr.”

He smirks. “You’re STILL cute when you’re jealous.”

Veronica glares at him and he throws up his hands in surrender. “Fine, what if we share the week? We’ll make it a celebration of our luurve and you can tase any followers who get too... frisky.”

She folds her arms over her chest. “I suppose.”

“Aw, don’t be grumpy; I promise we’ll end the week with a big BANG.” Another eyebrow waggle and Logan bends his head to kiss her neck. His lips graze her skin and —

Character Sound Off: Leo D’Amato Edition

We’re talking Leo D’Amato today. Here are a few questions to get you talking... and thinking about creating some meta, artwork, or fanfic featuring the Balboa County Deputy.

Did you find the age difference between Leo and Veronica inappropriate?

When Leo stole the Aaron Echolls tapes, thereby making them inadmissible in court, were you sympathetic to his reason? 

Did it bother you that Leo referred to those tapes as “good celebrity porn” - completely disregarding the fact that they featured an under-aged, murdered teen? Or, considering Leo’s attempts to get “a good look at Veronica’s bedroom ceiling,” did Leo think having sex with a minor was OK?

Do you really think Veronica and Keith would forgive Leo so easily for stealing the tapes they risked their lives to obtain? Or do you think they both erroneously laid the blame at Logan’s feet and gave Leo a pass?

For the movie, Rob Thomas makes Leo a detective with the San Diego PD, convenient for the plot, sure, but do you think it possible he would be hired as a cop again after stealing evidence?

What do you think Leo was up to for the missing nine years? How do you think he restarted his police career? Did he have a significant other during that time? 

How did you feel about the flirty phone calls and texts between Veronica and Leo in MKAT? And Veronica’s thought that, “it was easier to talk to Leo than Logan right now”? Do you think Rob Thomas was trying to set up ANOTHER possible love triangle for future installments of Veronica Mars? Or, do you think he was using Leo to show us that Veronica was done choosing relationships that were convenient and easy and “normal”? That, this time, she was going to fight for her relationship with Logan?
