Bloodborne Family Tree
Part I — Part II — Part III — Part IV — Part V — Part VI
Tumblr media
We have finally arrived at the last branch of the main Bloodborne tree, and as crazy as it looks, it is true, Vlad had offspring, but it didn't turned out well (obviously). Vlad was a man who loved many things, from the most complicated schemes to the simplest instincts, like sex. Vlad's favorite activity is one founded by himself and established during his reign, the Blood Orgies. These activities where typical of wealthy vampires, rich enough to buy humans, having sex with them and then eating them all. Humans were very expensive in the kingdom, so much that renting them was more common for the middle class vampires, therefore they wouldn't kill them, just use them for any purpose that didn't violate the terms of the owner. For a vampire to buy a bunch of humans And killing them, that was a True sign of wealth.
Vlad took this activity to another level, he had a special hall in his castle, with a huge swimming pool of blood, he had the orgies there and he hated being interrupted (and sometimes he even ate other vampires there). But one day he decided to try something different, a vampire prostitute, one that he wouldn't eat alive. Why, you ask? Just for the fun of trying something different. Because of this encounter, the woman got pregnant, and after the baby was born she abandoned him, she didn't want to have anything to do with Vlad.
This bastard son grew to be the greatest soldier of the kingdom, stronger than Dark the Duke of War. Vlad quickly recognized not only his talent, but his own flesh and blood. The vampires can recognize their blood relatives just by looking at them, they can sense the blood connection. Vlad became closer to him, and thus the people in the kingdom started to suspect he was indeed Vlad's son, that's why they called him Vick the Bastard Bloodborne.
Eventually, Vick got bored and tired of his own culture, he didn't like any of it, he grew up alone and poor, his wealth came from his hard work and accomplishments even if he was a nobody, and now being "Somebody" didn't matter either. That's why he left the kingdom, never to come back.

Castlevania Bloodborne AU 🌕
Trevor would be a beast cutter wielder. I think how heavy and brutish it is while still technically being a whip fits him perfectly and since it was featured in the Old Hunters DLC I wonder if that means the beast cutter is an old fashion weapon. It’s entirely possible it could be a sort of heirloom like the whip is. I’m not sure if I wanna make Trevor’s eye scar from Dracula like the original content or if I want to make him a more jaded hunter suffering from the effects of blood drunkenness. Dracula is DEFINITELY a blood drunk hunter though, man saw too much and got fucked up.
I’m still figuring out how Sypha and Alucard fit into everything, along with other characters

if ur curious abt the dans that i mentioned here's a post explaining them yippee
split core is an au sort of based in the doppelganger au--its a branch-off of it really--where clockwork wasnt happy with dan's progression and decided to teach him a lesson by splitting his core into the vlad and danny halves--red and green. however, a third core had formed over time--the dark core--and a third dan came out with them who was just the personification of all his bitterness and hatred. they looked like this (and forgive the old art i need to draw them again soon)
Tumblr media
and yall know doppelganger dan. hes just the redeemed dan from my doppelganger au/comic lol. he came back for revenge after TUE's events, but he was captured and (forcefully) rehabilitated by the fentons, mostly jazz. then his timeline's vlad showed up thanks to danny and threw him for a loop, but it ended up being what he needed to truly get better! also then later valerie showed up and things got complicated lol. this is him in case youve forgotten
Tumblr media
i mentioned "apprentice dan" and that was basically an au where dan was clockwork's apprentice! it was a way for clockwork to look after him without having him interfere with timelines by being part of them. i didnt develop this au a lot, i kind of only had a design and one shitpost comic, but i look back on it fondly. here's the art (also very old now)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and finally, my attempt at a post-agit dan... i settled with just having him be in the clone vessel FOR NOW, because i kinda vibe(d?) with the idea of him being in the vessel to be anchored to the timeline but when he goes ghost he turns into his usual ghost form! here's the vessel design i landed on
Tumblr media
i actually just remembered i DO have two more dans from crossover aus i made in the past. how the hell did i forget saiyan dan and phantomborne dan. ESPECIALLY phantomborne dan.
here's saiyan dan first--it was a dragon ball z crossover where jack was a saiyan with amnesia which made danny a half saiyan. i cant remember exactly how i handled dan in this, but i THINK i made dan some time travel situation where he came to the past to make danny an evil saiyan (theyre both half saiyans in the au). this was him
Tumblr media
finally...phantomborne. this was my baby au that i was kind of obsessed with for a hot minute so i absolutely cannot believe i forgot about it until now. but it was my bloodborne crossover au where danny was a half beast due to a failed blood transfusion experiment and he could transform at will. dan, however, was a full beast, and he was still danny from the future--there was time travel that i implemented using the au version of clockwork, who kind of acted as a less creepy gehrman with time powers. i think i made him responsible for the reason hunters wake up from the hunter's dream and everything has respawned, like they want back in time??? idk lol. but yeah dan is a full beast in the future bc he was never cured of his beasthood + gave into his beastly urges. he's pretty sick and uses the beast cutter weapon. here's a pic of him with danny
Tumblr media
ok i think thats for real all of my dans now thank you for coming to my ted talk and apologies for the longass post. i hope yall had that post cutter thing turned on lol. i know i could have used a readmore but i didnt want to <3

2,3, and 9 for Alfred then!!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
hmmm... kind of hard to say, he's the vlad jr of bloodborne. which something i can agree on w both characters is they're really effective as characters and really terrible as people. and w alfred i think its "this is how deep church propaganda goes" bc he's just bought into it wholesale despite it being very unlikely imo that he'd have even met logarius. also tbh i collect crazy blonde dudes like fine china: with the express purpose of breaking them.
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
there are few things about bloodborne i'd say i dislike from a story perspective but from a personal perspective killing annalise does make him suck so fucking bad.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
oh my god NO. hell no lmao. i know i can be a difficult person to live with but he would be so so so much worse in a very different way. i do however think that making his life more difficult on purpose would be really, really fun for me. i would enjoy gaslighting him and it would be sooooooooo easy. unfortunately one wrong move would result in my death and i have too much going on rn to risk that.
character asks!!

what are ur thoughts on the new elden ring dlc?
Short story:
Tumblr media
Long story: (Spoiler Warning)
I've been playing Souls gams for a long long time.
I've been here since Demon Souls. I've played Bloodborne and loved it. I've played Fromsoft's other games like Echo Night and King's Field. They're all highly detailed games with lore overflowing and woven between the stories like the guiding steps of a monk on a pilgrimage that lets you walk while it shows rather than tells a lot of the time leading to the formation of a highly talented and creative fandom that's foundation is very solidly anchored on discussing, debating, and theorizing on that lore. We are all deeply passionate about all that delicate handicraft Fromsoft put in.
That said...
I feel like the DLC was a rare miss.
Stay with me here. Not all of it. The new weapons? Mint. The new characters? Mint. New locations? Mint. New items? Mint. It's nearly all fucking mint. Oh my god, I love all the new St. Trina lore. I love the new perfumer equipment. I love Messmer, he's just one giant Vlad the Impaler/Dracula reference.
Tumblr media
Tell me this isn't peak boss design and I'll call you a filthy liar.
However, much like Detective Comics Comics keeps doing, they tripped over their own feet and absolutely fumbled the ending which, because it was the ending, made the disappointment so much more impactful.
If it had been a midpoint I'd have shrugged it off, we all would have, but as a writer, I have to say that fumbling the ending is shooting yourself in the foot. You can have a rough start. You can have a mishandled middle section. The ending though is where you have to give your all and this one felt completely disconnected from the lore, from the story, and even from the gameplay.
Not to be
Tumblr media
But I can not find anywhere any hints that Miquella's intent was to bring back Radahn. You know who all the hints and clues pointed to?
Godwyn.
Remember him?
Tumblr media
You know
Tumblr media
The giant festering mermaid corpse thing that's spreading like a cancer across the lands? The one who was so beloved by Miquella that he had a sword made praying for his brother to die a true death? The brother that built walking mausoleums to help his kin run from destined death just long enough so he could find the answer to soulessness to bring them back in spite of demigods never dying before and no one knowing if they even could?
The deeper you dig the less sense this ending makes and I'll spare you my entire deep dive. I'm not saying being a manipulator is out of character for Miquella. I'd dare say him being manipulative is often overlooked which is an entire other discussion. I do not see it as out of character for him to use his ability to bewitch people to reach his ambitions, but to kill Mohg to bring back Radahn is suspect. Nothing hinted to that and the tacked on "new lore" of it happening all along is suspect.
I have to stop talking about it or I'll keep going.
Even from a gameplay perspective the ending is a massive miss. It's not fun. Radahn has none of his impressive moveset and Miquella doesn't even use the spells he created to make it slightly more interesting. It's not even hard, it barely stacks against the dancing lion that set the brutal tone for the DLC. It's just... Lothric and Lorian again. We've played this part. We've beat this boss and how can you manage to make Miquella and Radahn the less impressive ones?
All of that said...
Tumblr media
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT MOHG. I WAS RIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME AND GOT CALLED EVERYTHING BUT MY NAME FOR IT. FUCK YOU.
I WAS RIGHT.

The Original Scholars
bloodborne au and all that
ok so I might as well try to explain my concept on it.. in a vague way similar to how bloodborne’s lore itself is told, bc I think that’s the charm of it and overexplaining wouldn’t give it justice. The game likes to give its lore through item descriptions, so I try to imitate that.
Might update and add to this in the future, look out.
Original scholars
The scholars of the Old College were the first to find advancement in the Higher learning. Their teachings started from their delving of the deep catacomb labyrinths below Paris. It gave them path to the Cosmic knowledge, the insight to realise the existence of the Great Ones.
Old Blood
Deep beneath the labyrinths are the tomb of gods where the old knowledge is found and the blood alongside it. It was the main foundation of the Healing Church, whose conception the result of the breaking up between College scholars, some favouring further use of it while the other complete abstinence.
"The blood has great potent healing properties and also the capability of evolving mankind."
Vlad
Former scholar and the founder of the Healing Church. Forbidden knowledge led him to see the inevitable catastrophe that one day will befall civilization. Thus he believed the Old Blood as a way to transcend humanity, through transfusing it into human bodies. The Church promised a cure of any disease, and citizens flock to them for healing.
Comte of St Germain
Provost of the Old College. Held a great distrust towards the blood that led to the falling out between him and Vlad, and the breaking up of the scholars. Believed further pursuit of the Cosmic knowledge and establishing contact with the Great Ones should be the way of ascension instead.
Leonardo
Close friend of the provost. A dedicated scholar that prefers the field-work side of things. Involved in the discovery of the Fishing Hamlet, folks that worships a stranded Great One who came from the deep ocean. It is rumoured that both the college and the church's pursuits contributed to its desecration, and Leonardo possibly took part in it, being a proficient hunter himself.
The Scrouge of Beasts
The all-healing Old Blood brought a side-effect. Bloodthirsty beasts born out of men started to plague the city, terrorising folks at night. Hunters are deployed by the church to get rid of these beasts, but they soon too become addicted to the blood and hunt itself, continuing the cycle of beasts.
They burned part of the city down and locked the beasts in one place. The church closed their doors after, but its likely they continued their work of ascending humanity in secret, perhaps even more ambitiously.
Meanwhile, the abandoned hunters still looks for preys.
The Dream
A plane of reality materialised by the Moon Presence (a Great One) upon the Comte's eventual successful contact with them. He became tied to the Dream and the Moon through their "contract", with conditions that he never quite understood. This led him to seek more great scholars and men to be binded into the dream too, and figure out the Cosmic will.
Anyone bound to the Dream are unable to truly die, waking up inside it every time they did and can go back to the waking world if they so choose. A mansion stood lonely upon single piece of land. One cannot venture further than this.
One day a strange man showed up inside the mansion, not knowing to agree to any sort of contract. The Comte has long since fell into a mysterious slumber, so he couldn't have invited him here....

Made Vlad a bit bigger in this version so the proportions look correct this time. Danny looked too large compared to Vlad before.

Now, I would like to talk about the design of this... Curious lineage xd. The vampire supreme kings are based on the several points of view of the legendary count Dracula.
Starting with Hal, he is based on the classic figure of a handsome, charming and lustful gentleman who happens to be also the prince of darkness. Vlad is based on what inspired this legend, the prince of Wallachia, Vlad the Impaler, one of the most famous rulers of mankind history, known for being a bloodthirsty and cruel man. And finally, we have our dearest Hell, he was based on the bases of the myth of the vampire, many ancient cultures had a similar concept of a creature of night that hunts the living and sucks their souls, such as the lamia from the Greek mythology or the children of Lilith from some version of the Bible.
These bases can tell you about how these rulers are seen in the Nix. Hal is known for who he was, a man of many woman, a lustful and prideful being full of hate. Vlad was known for what he could do, how cruel he was, how insane he was, this man had "Blood Orgies", and he even was capable of killing another vampire if it was needed. Finally, Hell was known as a myth, a creature from darkness, a tale to scare the children...and the adults, some kind of Boogeyman who hides beyond that dense forest, across that abandoned street, maybe in that scary and gloomy corner of your house, a shadow no one has ever seen but is the source of many fears.
As a creator I like to compare my characters with the seven deadly sins, it is a concept I like, so, in order for you to comprehend more the simple aspects of their personalities I will highlight those sins that twist the minds of these hot men.
They have two main sins, however, there is one that is present in the three of them, and it is Lust. Most of you (I don't know if everyone that's why I say that) are from the DL's community, so we can agree that lust simply is something vampires have xD.
About their individual sins, Hal's is Pride, he could face anyone, no matter who, and he wouldn't even flinch, in fact, he was king and God of the vampire only for 50 years, but because he was such a pain in the backside, the Creators of the Universe trapped him in a planet alone to live for eternity. (Drya and I have this joke were hypothetically Hal comes back and claims the throne, and he is tall but he is still smaller than Hell, and it is just hilarious to imagine that scene xD: —Boy, you have my gratitude for keeping my throne warm, now get down).
Vlad's sin: Gluttony! When you think about it, normally lust and gluttony are something that seems to be fused within vampires, however, Vlad takes this to the next level. For him every creature has to fulfill a purpose, so when he finds someone useless, he eats them, no matter who they are. (And sometimes he could make some...nasty things with those people before killing them).
And finally, our beloved Hell, his sin is no doubt: Wrath. He is someone who has learned to control his feelings, nevertheless, this only means that those feelings are maybe the most dangerous thing about him, unlike the former kings, he is not reckless but when he loses his mind...bad things happen. Hal and Vlad were scary because of who they were and what they did, but Hell is feared because of what he can do. (You'll be able to taste this with a post of an AU were is beloved son is kidnapped by humans. It is written but Drya is drawing is God appearance >:3).
I hope you enjoyed reading this, I am very happy if you did enjoy it too, this blog and all the people I interact with have become a great support in my life, writing is my greatest passion and seeing people having fun with my characters in my Nix...it is just amazing u,w,u. And for that, I am revealing the Bloodborne's Family Tree! I wonder who is going to be the next to be revealed >;3.

Another request!
@impossibleslimemakerduck requested to draw Vlad (do you remember? The Vileblood Blood Gem) and Padparadscha.
The idea for this was after a tough hunt where Vlad got injured due to fight in first line to impress and protect the other, exposing himself to a lot of danger
(when you stupidly just charge as a psycho and you end up with a lot of blood echoes but with your healt bar low as freak xD)
So once back at Oedon Chapel some rest is deserved!- Mokka

In Another Life
I was a participant in the Ikemen Vampire Gift Exchange organised by @ikemenlibrary! Thank you so much for hosting this fun little event <3 My giftee victim was @batteryrose whose Bloodborne AU art has hugely inspired me to write the piece that follows. Enjoy!
Fandom: Ikemen Vampire
Pairing: Napoleon Bonaparte x Arthur Wellesley (Duke Wellington)
Warnings: Bloodborne AU! I think that’s a warning by itself & character death.
Word count: +/- 1k
Before the world descended into the madness of its own creation…
He knew how to play the violin. Beautifully so. Napoleon recalled those pale hands holding onto the wooden instrument, the strings singing its tune as the Wellington duke made it sing for him. The day was bright, the sun setting into its later afternoon hues dying the blue that so reminded Napoleon of the eyes of a beloved. A tune strung specially for him. A tune just for his ears to enjoy.
In another world, Napoleon imagined, he would be an emperor and Arthur Wellesley would be his muse. He would be the patron, and enjoy the art that Wellesley could make from his instrument, maybe even more. In another world, where the sky would always be as blue as Wellesley's eyes, and where Wellington would be their whole world.
Bright blues open, a little dazed as the music dies, the last note a proverbial screeching halt. It earns a blush from the man, shame colouring his fair features when Wellesley realises his mistake. "Sorry," he mumbles, a little ashamed, but Napoleon shakes his head, still caught in the spell of his muse.
"You are beautiful," he whispers, meaning to compliment the violin instead, but he means it all the same.
How peaceful those times were.
"Do you hear that?" Wellington says, hands over his ears as he tries to block out the silence that only dwells within him. "The rumbling, the calling, it is chasing after me!" he exclaims, and Napoleon rushes over to his side, falling to his knees as he covers Wellesley's ears.
“You are here; you are with me,” Napoleon tells the man, hands firmly pressed against the sides of Wellington’s face, fingers tangled in his hair as he peers deeply into the eyes of a beloved. The first few times the words soothed Wellesley, and it soothed Napoleon when he felt arms clamp around his shoulders, clinging onto his clothes in that desperate manner that spelled; don’t leave!
“And nothing can get between us,” he promises, for Napoleon means every word. Even when the spells come more often and Wellesley’s screams louder. Even when he knows that the violin won't be played anymore as fingers claw at ears and eyes and skin.
In another world, if he were king, Napoleon would order for the best physicians to come. Invite all specialists to his palace, where they would treat his beloved.
He knows how inevitable the affliction is, however. Going much beyond all knowledge of the common man.
"There is a cure," a pale man says. Hair like snow and eyes as red as blood. He reminds Napoleon of a winter day, where the sky is grey and sombre unlike the eyes of his beloved. The one waning away as he screams of voices Napoleon can't hear.
The promise of a cure throws all caution into the wind as Napoleon accepts a deal he is about to regret.
The descent of evil.
Old blood, Vlad named it, the scholar of the new healing school. A rare medicine, a miracle cure that can treat all ails. Soon Wellesley is laughing again, the sound no one else could hear gone and his eyes bright. The eyes Napoleon loves so much. The eyes that remind him of the clear sky above Wellington. Wellington, which they had to leave for Yarnham.
Yarnham, where blood floods, regular human blood, blood of the monsters, not the blood he needs.
"Paleblood," Vlad calls Napoleon, his sword dripping with the dark liquid of the beasts that haunt this place, "what do you bring?" came the constant question. The price for medicine was steep, too steep to pay off, and thus Napoleon gave his own service.
In another world, he thought, where I'm a soldier dyed in blood, I hope it is Wellesley who will save me.
The reality was different, as Wellesley stood by his side, the smell of taint, and dried blood harsh in his clothes, his once bright eyes dull as he stared ahead. 'I pulled him down,' Napoleon realises, the medicine working in its mysterious ways. The sounds are gone, but Wellesley's parlour is pale, and his eyes shift, shifting as if sensing something looming in the shadows, as if seeing something he can't see.
"Don't go there," Wellesley tells Napoleon, and he would listen, thinking that it is Wellesley who is afraid, thinking that he needs to console his beloved.
Soon even the old blood loses its effect. The sounds come back, a screech, a beckoning, so Wellesley describes it. Accompanied with a sight, a description, looming, and horrifying, hiding in the shadows.
"It is hideous," Wellesley tells Napoleon, his eyes stained with tears, the white parts now red and bloodshot. Even his hands, these artisan hands, steady and slender, are now haggard, the tips rough and bitten; the skin dry and patched. Those beautiful fingers that held the bow against the stringed instrument and made music. Those very same fingers dig and dig and dig until the sky is taken out of his eyes.
“Hold!” Wellesley hisses, grabbing hold of Napoleon’s arm, “don’t,” he says more calmly as Napoleon turns around halfway. A choice he soon regrets, flinching at the dried patches of what was once red and before that blue.
Another night, another fight, another hunt. The beasts are out, the people are inside, the hunters give chase, and Napoleon has sensed one of the beasts in an alley up ahead. He felt their presence; he could smell their tainted blood. “What is wrong?” Napoleon questions, and Wellesley visibly gulps, face turning over to the creature looming behind his partner, its beak wide open as if ready to swallow the hunter whole. The one Napoleon doesn’t see, even if he is the one with eyes.
“Don’t you see it? Don’t you see what stands behind you?” Wellesley sounds exasperated, his voice haggard, as if he had run a mile instead, as if just stopping a sword fight with Napoleon. Panic is flooding over, and Napoleon can see that, quick to let go of his weapon as he holds Wellesley tight, hands firmly planted on the shoulders of his beloved, who was looking less and less like the muse he had once dreamt of.
It disturbs Napoleon to know that Wellesley still sees something he can't, despite robbing himself of the sense of sight. It disturbs Napoleon to know that the figments won't leave him as they hunt the beasts. It disturbs Napoleon that he can’t ever understand what is plaguing Wellesley in sound and in sight; for he never hears or sees the same.
It disturbs him more to know that, despite the lack of sight, Wellesley still accurately picks out the beasts when they hunt. The glint of a sword swiftly slashing behind him; the thud of a beast falling to the pavement as Napoleon realises his one hunter’s mistake.
“Don’t you understand,” Wellington says, his expression cast to the ground as his sword drips, almost gleaming from all the blood it had collected, “haven’t you seen the truth, yet?” he says, to which Napoleon doesn’t know how to react, for he has. Every hunter faces the truth, sooner or later, but at last they will, inevitably.
“Lord Vlad holds the truth, the cure,” Wellington continues, a hand reaching towards the spot where his eyes once were, “he taught me not to fear the unseen, that which you can’t see; he taught me why.”
Napoleon knows it is the old blood. He knows what it does. He doesn’t know how to stop, however. Just that it has to stop.
“The truth?” Leonardo repeats after Napoleon. Wellesley isn’t by his side. A choice that’s for the best, for no one can know about the betrayal Napoleon is about to inflict. The hunter runs a hand through his hair, pushing the long unkempt manes out of his eyes as he releases another cloud of smoke. “Follow me,” is all that Napoleon is told as he follows after the man they call the leader of all hunters, hoping that he has an answer for his quest.
Instead they enter a room, dimly lit with a single figure seated in a high chair. The steady rise and fall of the chest has Napoleon believe that the person is asleep. Comte, the golden scion of the old college. As golden as the stories had described him to be, stuck in a deep slumber made of his own regret when Vlad had abandoned him.
“Believe me when I say I have tried every method there is to wake him up,” Leonardo sighed, a hand running through his hair before rubbing the rough stubbles under his chin, “so, that’s your way out, kid.” With that Napoleon is left with even more questions as he stares at the man who holds all the answers, but is unable to speak.
“The curse of the hunter is,” Wellesley speaks in a moment of sanity, his breath laboured as he fights his own visions, eyes scattering all over in the darkness where nothing can be perceived, “the curse is knowing the truth, sooner, later, one day, the truth will come,” he breathes and Napoleon stares at him in confusion as Wellesley shakes his head, kneeling down as he presses his palms together.
“Wake me up from this dream, I wish to wake from this nightmare,” he requests, and Napoleon feels his jaw stiffen, knowing that he can’t deny this request.
Napoleon wakes up with a start, squinting at the way the sun glares down on him despite the shade of the tree above. The sun has turned, and he is awakened, greeted by a stark blue up ahead that reminds him of the eyes of a beloved. A memory floats up from the fog of his still waking mind, whispering the end of his dream;
“The truth, my dear friend,” the man on his lap coughs, the old blood demanding its price, but the body empty of anything but the last breaths shared, “the truth is that there is no way out. Not out of the dream, not out of this, none.”
In another life, Napoleon determined, he doesn’t mind what man he becomes. In another life, Napoleon just hopes to give Wellesley half the love he had deserved and more.

Aaaand there's the first death
Survived my first combat, then got punched to death by the butcher because I forgot how to get my knife out
At least I got the hands out this time. Unfortunately, ever since I leaned down to pet my dog while playing Bloodborne and accidentally smacked Eileen I've been paranoid about disarming in games with Consequences, so I put the knife away after fighting that Worm dude that led me to Vlad.
...I may have to rethink that strategy
