Stitch Me Back Together- 2.5
A/N: Welcome to Spring Season Stories! This is just the second of the daily stories in April, so be on the lookout for more! If you’re wondering what the posting schedule is, then search ‘Spring season Stories’ on my blog and the calendar should pop up. This is kind of a half chapter for one of my series ‘Stitch Me Back Together’, which this wasn’t initially supposed to be. But it fit so I did it lol. I would like to clarify that everything written in this story is complete fiction and isn’t to be taken as a true portrayal of reality. As always, the links for my masterlists will be in the notes.
Summary: Hongbin meets Lucille, and learns something about her sister. And he intends to get answers.
Word Count: 1,088
Genre: Supernatural/Fantasy/Mythical AU, Angsty (a little)
Tumblr media
Sometimes it feels like things can be too hectic, days when the rush never stops. Today was one of those days. Hongbin barely managed to get enough time to grab a quick coffee and sandwich from the cafe in the hospital. Honestly, at that point, he just wanted to have everything pause for a moment. This would be relatively simple, just a brief incantation and a drop of blood, and bam! Everything would just stop and he could get some peace. But he’s been berated far too many times for “inappropriate magic use” to actually do something like that again. Listen, it’s not that he doesn’t understand that using magic around humans is dangerous, of course, he knows that- but it doesn’t mean he has to like it.
He hadn’t gotten but two steps into the cafe when he heard arguing. There was a woman standing at the counter arguing with an older lady. Hongbin didn’t even need to get closer to hear what the younger woman was saying.
“I don’t understand exactly why you’re taking out your frustrations on this poor girl. She didn’t do anything,” she paused for a second as if gearing up for a finale. “Can’t you see that she’s the only employee here right now? How is she supposed to do everything in a short amount of time without help? There’s literally been a crowd in here for the past fifteen minutes, and it just now slowed down! So, I suggest you calm yourself down and back off before I make you. I’m not afraid to go haywire on a sad old lady like you. Age be damned- I can reduce you to a pile of dust with just a few words. Don’t try me.”
By this point, the older lady looked scandalized and the younger one had her hands on her hips, chest heaving as she took in deep, calming breaths. Suffice to say, the old lady stalked off, her mouth screwed shut.
“Thank you.” The girl behind the counter murmured.
She swirled around to face the girl like she’d forgotten she was there in the midst of her rant. “Huh? Oh, it’s no problem.” She waved her hand in a dismissive manner. “Entitled people like that really grate my nerves. I’m sorry you had to put up with that.”
Now, he doesn’t typically take note of the humans around him, unless they’re his coworkers, because they tend to be, well… Rather mundane, to put it bluntly. He prefers to help them and then step back, not get too involved. But there’s just something about this one that sticks out to him. She’s fierce and passionate as if a small fire is raging inside of her, waiting for those moments it can be unleashed. She stepped to the side after telling the cafe worker to take her time and waved him forward. As a man of simple tastes, Hongbin ordered his usual coffee and sandwich. It’s easier than trying to think of anything else. Not that he had that much time anyway. He spared a glance down at his watch, maybe about fifteen minutes.
“Do you work here?” He asked the woman standing to the side.
She looked at him, eyes wide. “Uh, no, sorry. I’m just grabbing food for my sister, she works in the ER. It looks like you work here though.”
He sighed playfully. “The scrubs are a dead giveaway aren’t they?”
“Yeah,” she laughed. “I’m Lucille, and you are?”
“Hongbin,” Hongbin replied, reaching out to shake her hand. “Who’s your sister?”
“Dr. Beaudreaux, or Fleur, if you’re on cordial terms with her.”
The conversation continued on, friendly chatter, while they waited for their orders. Lucille talked about her job, at a morgue, and how she’s worried about her sister. Something about Fleur going through something difficult recently. Their orders came faster than expected, but maybe that’s just because talking to her made it feel like time had slowed down without him using magic.
Lucille was halfway to the exit when she turned back. “Here,” she said, grabbing a napkin off the counter and pulling a pen from her purse. “This is my number, text me sometime.”
Tumblr media
A few days later, when Hongbin was in the ER to get a patient transferred to the ICU, he ran into Fleur. He tried to say something to her, though he wasn’t sure exactly what he would have said if she’d actually acknowledged him. And, well… He’d tested out a new spell a friend came up with, and it was still in effect when he ran into Fleur. Which is how Hongbin heard her thoughts: How am I supposed to tell who’s human and who’s not? Am I in danger because of what I know now? What if something else, like that thing, attacks me? Followed by a horrifically graphic memory of a gargoyle attacking her.
Gargoyles are vicious creatures, especially when they have a target. They’ve got claws that can slice through bone like butter, large leathery wings, poisonous fangs, and night vision. The fact that she managed to survive an attack from one is quite the feat- and she did it without supernatural help. How did she know about anything supernatural in the first place? Why was a gargoyle after her?
Hongbin: Hey, is your sister okay? *7:09 pm*
Hongbin: I saw her earlier and she looked out of it *7:09 pm*
Lucille: She said she was fine when we talked yesterday *7:11 pm*
Lucille: But she did lose a patient about two and a half weeks ago *7:12 pm*
Hongbin: Shit, I’m sorry *8:40 pm*
Lucille: Me too, it was the first time she’d lost one. I think his name was something Juarez *9:02 pm*
Lucille: Some insensitive cop came and questioned her the next day, let me tell you I really wanted to hurt that man *9:02 pm*
He didn't know how long he sat there staring at their texts after receiving the last two from her. However long, it did nothing to ease the chaos going down in his head. Even though he didn’t understand, he knew someone who would. And Hongbin meant to get answers.
“Jaehwan, care to tell me why there’s a doctor in the ER that knows about the supernatural? Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about, I know that if anyone was going to investigate a Juarez death it’d be you. So, tell me how Dr. Beaudreaux knows, and why she was attacked.”

Description:  “Hey I’m here Baek. Don’t worry, I’m never leaving you again.”
Genre: Smut // Fluff // Slight Angst
Pairing: Byun Baekhyun x Reader
Mobile Masterlist | Request
As Baekhyun promised, he was able to sneak back into Xiumin’s mansion and receive the last piece of your kanata but...it wasn't easy.
*2 hours earlier*
You looked into Baekhyun’s eyes in confusion.
“You want to come with us? What about your pack? Won’t you get in trouble if you leave?”
You hear Hongbin groan behind the two of you. “Never mind him Y/N, what about us? We can’t bring some werewolf into the sanctuary. That’s like committing treason.”
You turn to Hongbin and let out a sigh. “but this isn’t just some werewolf, it’s Baekhyun,” you emphasize, turning back to him, “and I can’t leave him behind if he’s going to risk this for me.”
And with that it seemed like everyone agreed with your plan to let Baekhyun go and get the last piece of your sword from Xiumin’s library. It may have had to do with the fact you were the last royalty left in the kitsune pack and the guys didn’t want to go against your wishes but you could tell Hongbin wasn’t too happy about it.
...
You looked back down at your watch for what felt like the millionth time and back at the direction Baekhyun had left in. Baekhyun had left over 10 minutes ago and it really should’ve taken him less than 5 what with his wolf speed. You were starting to get worried and wondered if this was all a bad idea to have left him to go on his own.
“I should go see if he's okay.” You suddenly announce to the boys as you grab your sword.
Hongbin immediately jumps up. “Are you crazy? If anyone catches you you’ll be killed. I can’t let that happen.”
Jaehwan and Wonsik nod agreeing with Hongbin. “He’s right Y/N. If Baekhyun isn't back yet that could mean that he got caught. It’s too dangerous for any one of us.” Jaehwan sighs. “We know you care about him deeply, but we can’t sacrifice ourselves for someone, let alone a wolf.”
Your heart feels tight as their words hit you like a ton of bricks. They were right to some degree, but it was Baekhyun for Christs sakes. You didn’t want to admit it to them as you gotten to know them over the last couple of weeks but you couldn't stop thinking about Baekhyun. You would have nightmares of the day you left him after ingesting that liquid that removed your bond with him and ever since then you felt hollow inside like something was missing. Seeing Baekhyun today reminded you that leaving him was the biggest mistake you could've ever made.
You turn back to Hongbin as you chew on your bottom lip.
“Remember when you were telling me about how foxes and wolves can’t be mates and it was forbidden? And it was still possible but rare to have a true mate?”
Hongbin nods in confusion, “Yes, but what does that have to do with this?”
You touch your neck were your mark used to be and it almost felt like it throbbed. That comforting throb that you used to feel whenever Baekhyun was close by.
“It has to do with everything. Which means I can't leave him behind.”
Your words must of caught them off guard because you used their confused state as your cue to make a dash in the direction Baekhyun went to. You thought you were fast enough but Hongbin was faster as he grabbed you by the waist and lifted you up from the ground.
“No stop! I need to find him!” You shout as you struggle against his grip. There was no way you were escaping Hongbins grip and deep down you knew that struggling was futile.
“I’m sorry Y/N. But I can't let you do this. We promised to keep you safe even if that meant not finding your kanata.”
With ease and what seemed like no effort, Hongbin had you back in the van and strapped into place so you couldn’t move around.
“Please Hongbin, just let me go. You guys can go back to the base.” You plead as you watch him zip tie your wrists together.
He looks up to you and for a second you can see the sadness in his eyes. He almost looks sorry for you but the Hongbin you once knew is long gone as you now stare at someone else.
“I’m sorry Princess.”
--
You felt like crying but this wasn’t the best time as you were sitting next to Hongbin strapped to your seat. You couldn’t move your wrists as they were zip tied together. You felt embarrassed and humiliated because you ultimately failed your mission but what made matters worse was that Baekhyun could be in a whole lot of trouble and its was all your fault.
As Wonsik drove down the dirt road that would soon lead us out of the forest where Xiumins mason lay, you couldn't help but feel that familiar throb on your neck where your mark used to be. You assumed it was just an after affect of being almost mates with Baekhyun and the fact that you saw him today but as the car drove further out of the forest the throbbing in your neck increase and seemingly got worse.
You bit you lip in pain not wanting the guys to notice but suddenly the pain was unbearable as you doubled over trying to reach for your neck.
You felt Hongbin grab at you and ask what was wrong but it felt like you couldn't speak. It hurt so bad that you almost couldn't breath.
In a panic, Hongbin told Wonsik to stop then car and pull over to the side. You could tell that the car was only a mere 5 feet away from the paved main road.
Everything was happening so fast. Suddenly Hongbin was removing the zip tie from your wrists and undoing your seat beat. It felt like everything was going in slow motion as you grabbed at your neck.
You didn’t know what was coming over you but with sudden increase in strength you managed to rip open the side door open and bolt out of the van onto the main road.
You could hear the guys behind you telling you to stop and chasing after you but it was like nothing mattered when what you saw all made sense.
It was like oddly perfect timing, because when you made it onto the main road you saw something jump out of the bushes. An animal with grey fur stained in crimson red blood and wild eyes glowing in white.
You watched in a shock and because you were only a couple feet away when the furry beast collapsed on the pavement. It immediately dawned on you who this was.
“Baekhyun?” Your voice came out as a whisper and as you got closer you noticed the gun shot wound on his lower stomach and you almost felt faint.
Baekhyun growled and then started to whimper. You got down to your knees in front of him.
Your eyes filled with tears as you touched his fur coat. “Hey I’m here Baek. Don’t worry, I’m never leaving you again.” You felt your neck throb again at your words.
You watched as Baekhyun’s body started to change back to his human form and that’s when you saw how much damage the gun and done to him. His torso  was covered in blood and his face was extremely pale.
“Here,” Baekhyun voice cracks as his hand reaches for yours. He drops what feels like the last piece of your sword into your hand and it.
You stare at the piece of metal in your hand then back at Baekhyun. You wonder if this was all worth it.
“Hey, don’t be sad. You’re going to be the best kitsune. I just know it.” And with that Baekhyun collapsed into your arms.

KDA In Excelsis: Ch19 (The King’s Avatar AU, CEO!Hakyeon, Gamer!Hongbin, VIXX x OCs ) Character Charts [x]
Hana entered the tent bar and gaped at the sight of Choi Sooyeon and Kim Minah, each clinging to one of Hongbin’s arms.
Before she could say anything, he cried: “This isn’t what it looks like!”
“No?” she raised an eyebrow.
“No!”
“Really... because it looks like they’re being annoying drunks and won’t let you leave.”
“Oh...” Hongbin nodded. “Then it’s exactly what it looks like.”
Sooyeon giggled, waving a fist to punch his chest, but ended up smacking him in the throat instead. “Uh-oh, you’re in trouble.”
Hongbin coughed, glaring at Sooyeon, then turned back to Hana, frowning. “You know what, I don’t have to explain anything to you.”
“I didn’t say you had to,” Hana sighed, walking to the tent bar lady to place an order. Suddenly, she heard him call from behind.
“Wait!--I don’t have to but I want to.”
Hana looked over her shoulder and met his gaze, both of them not saying anything.
Sooyeon broke the silence: “O-M-G, could you two like--fix your issues in private?!”
“We could have, if the two of you would stop clinging to me!” Hongbin shouted.
Hana walked over to the group, but before she could do anything, two dashing, well-dressed men burst into the tent bar at the same time. Hakyeon and Taekwoon attempted to elbow each other out of the way as they rushed to the table.
“What are you doing to Sooyeon?” Hakyeon screamed in an accusatory tone.
“What are you doing to Minah?” Taekwoon yelled at the same time.
“It’s obvious that they’re the ones who are doing something to him!” Hana cried, standing before the two men, her hands planted on her hips.
The two CEOs glanced at Sooyeon and Minah clinging to Hongbin, then bowed their heads sheepishly. “Oh, right...” Hakyeon murmured.
“Get your women off of me!” Hongbin demanded.
Hakyeon gulped, before launching into a rapid spiel: “Umm, well, she’s not really my woman, that is--I’m here in my capacity as a CEO who’s concerned for an employee...”
Pale skin flushed, Taekwoon stammered: “P-P-Preposterous, that’s so improper, didn’t you learn any manners--”
“These sempais are so useless sometimes...” Hana rolled her eyes, then spun around to stare down Sooyeon and Minah. “Are you two really not going to let him go??”
Sooyeon immediately released Hongbin and latched unto Hakyeon, nuzzling against his shoulder. “Hakyeonie!!”
Hakyeon gulped again. “Hakyeon...ie?”
Hana tapped her foot as she returned Minah’s scowl, without blinking. Finally, Minah wobbled away from Hongbin. “Pft, you deserve to sweat a little more for what you’ve been doing.”
Hana rolled her eyes again. “And what exactly is it that I’ve been doing?!”
Taekwoon had been hovering close to Minah, and stabilized her with a hand on her elbow. She looked at him, then her eyes closed and she fell against him.
He caught her, murmuring softly: “Kim Minah, are you... awake?”
“No.”
He blinked. “No?”
Her eyes still shut and her body limp in his arms, she said: “My friends told me to pretend to sleep when something like this happens.”
“Something like... what?”
“She means when a man she’s interested in helps her when she’s drunk, duh!” Sooyeon cackled, thumping at Hakyeon’s chest lightly with catpawed fists. Then she shook her head, swinging a catpaw at Taekwoon who was becoming redder by the second. “Aww, it’s really obvious that you’re a rich boy who inherited being CEO and didn’t earn it. You don’t seem very smart--eek!” She nearly fell when Minah pounced on her.
Minah yanked at the ends of Sooyeon’s scarf. “You take that back!”
Sooyeon managed to push the other woman away and hid behind Hakyeon, wrapping her arms around his waist. “Hakyeonie! I’m scared!”
Hana found herself stumbling a little when Hongbin shoved her behind him as Minah tried to lunge for Sooyeon again. “Weren’t you supposed to be asleep?” he snapped.
Minah paused, the wheels in her head almost visibly turning, and then she fell into Taekwoon’s arms again, making him turn so red he looked ready to burst.
“Princess, here you go! I cooked fresh tteokbokki for your order.” The tent bar lady arrived with three containers of tteokbokki.
Hongbin snatched it, up and away of Hana’s reach, and paid for it with his free hand. Taking the old order of tteokbokki, he dumped it on Hakyeon. “You dispose of this, because this was your woman’s waste.”
Leaving Hakyeon to blubber his protests, Hana and Hongbin walked out of the stall and were met by Mingyu, BamBam, and Yugyeom, all pouting at Hongbin.
“You ditched Mom and us so you can hang out with two other women?!” Mingyu shrieked.
Leaving Hongbin to complain on his own, Hana took one of the tteokbokki boxes and shared it with Yugyeom and BamBam, walking away.
Behind them, Mingyu was howling: “Explain!”
“I don’t have to explain to you and I don’t want to explain to you.” Hongbin retorted, following them.
There was a scuffle and a choked rebuke from Hongbin when Mingyu caught him in a headlock and dragged him on the way. “Explain!”
“He’s like a violent puppy!” Hongbin groaned.
“Yeah,” Hana agreed. “I think he takes after you in that regard.”
Hongbin scoffed and Mingyu shoved him away, both of them yelling: “No way!”
BamBam looked them up and down, before declaring: “Yes way.”

"I don't think I ever expected to run into you here" Wonshik says over the music. It's dulled down compared to the dance music on earlier in the night but still loud enough to stifle conversation. The crowd on the dance has whittled down to couples slow dancing or kissing.
"I don't normally come here" Hongbin admits. This pub is out of his way and he barely has enough time or strength left after working both his jobs to wander far.
"Hakyeon hyung has some family issues going on so I'm free from housekeeping duty for now" Hongbin tells him by way of an explanation.
"Yeah I noticed he cancelled his classes for the next week. Didn't show up to lab either" Wonshik recalls. "I hope everything is okay."
Hongbin nods in agreement. The explanation is probably a lie and an excuse to spend time with the stranger that has effectively moved in. It's funny because Hongbin was sure Hakyeon hyung didn't believe in love or romance and all of a sudden he's head over heels for this stranger.
Speculation aside, it isn't his place to gossip about his personal life with Wonshik who is simply Hakyeon's student. So he lets the topic slide and focuses on his food.
Honestly, Wonshik's presence is unplanned. The postgrad student happened to find Hongbin who originally came here alone to grab dinner and a few drinks. Hongbin invited him to join him, given how crowded the pub was and how some company was better than none.
It may also have to do with his slight attraction to said student.
Hongbin met Wonshik last year when he came home from the institute with Hakyeon, carrying some of assignments Hakyeon had to work on grading. Wonshik had his long hair pulled back into a ponytail and wore t-shirt on jeans but had looked incredibly attractive to Hongbin.
Hongbin knew he wore his heart on his sleeve so he hadn't acted on his crush. But the universe had other plans clearly as Hongbin kept running into Wonshik. Now that he knew the man, it felt like Wonshik was everywhere. It was a small town but it wasn't that small Hongbin swore.
And so he had resigned himself to living with his feelings and waiting for then to fade away.
When he looks to Wonshik sitting on the opposite side of the booth and how his dark brown hair reflected the neon disco lights he thinks, fading away could wait one more day.
They talk about the news and the happenings around the small town. Wonshik tells him about the new research at the institute. He has a way of explaining complex topics that helps Hongbin understand his research so it becomes infinitely more interesting than listening to Hakyeon talk about the same.
Wonshik's nose scrunches and Hongbin smiles involuntarily at how cute it looks. How cheesy, he mentally berates himself. But a little self indulgence is fine as long as Wonshik doesn't know.
Wonshik is blissfully unaware, talking about how Finding Dory and royal blue tangs and how they are endangered species that should really be protected better and not commercially exploited. Hongbin admires his passion for his field of research.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Wonshik asks, once the number of empty drink glasses is more than the table can hold and their combined tab might render them broke if they go on. They've crossed their alcohol limit three drinks ago and the pub offers nothing appealing to diver them any longer.
Hongbin agrees. The idea of not having to scream over the amplifiers is very appealing to his throat. (And under the street lights, he can probably admire Wonshik better.)
It's quiet outside the pub when Hongbin follows Wonshik out. The silence ahead is deafening and the music fades the further they walk. The hum of the crowd is replaced by a silence typical of urban nightscapes. The quiet is only disturbed by sounds of the engine of a passing car or the buzzing of air conditioners and generators outside residential buildings.
The neon lights of signs outside all day convenience stores is brighter than the flickering street lights but Wonshik isn't worried. He navigates it with a practiced ease that tells Hongbin he has walked this route multiple times.
They pick up more drinks from one of the convenience stores on the way. The buzz of alcohol has Wonshik in high spirits and he hums along to the song that was playing in the club before they left. He even break dances to make Hongbin laugh and Hongbin giggles because Wonshik is so cute. His long skinny legs make it funnier for some reason but Hongbin cannot comprehend why.
The cashier couldn't care less. She occasionally glances to make sure they aren't shoplifting but goes back to texting almost immediately. Once the boys leave, they resume walking to the seashore. The cold soda is sobering and conversation flows smoothly between the two.
As soon as they near the beach, Hongbin feels the wind get stronger and warmer. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks and the light from the lighthouse hit him together. It's an amusing sound gradient. From electric synth to city silence to water against rocks.
Wonshik guides him through the narrow alleyways that warp around the houses and the lighthouse and open to the beach. They kick off their shoes and Hongbin shivers a little when the sea breeze hits him.
"Are you cold?" Wonshik asks. Hongbin shakes his head but Wonshik didn't wait for a response to shrug his jacket off and put it around Hongbin. The closeness makes Hongbin blush and he is viscerally aware of Wonshik's body but isn't prepared for it being brought into the forefront of conscious thought suddenly.
"Won't you be cold then?" Hongbin asks, when Wonshik moved away and he pulls his jacket close. It's very warm and soothing. It triggers relaxation and exhaustion both at the same time in him.
"I'm used to it" Wonshik shrugs.
"Do you sneak out often then?" Hongbin asks. He remembers his college days and how he would often wander off to his friend's room to play games instead of studying. Wonshik's method is to sneak out onto the beach clearly and said man's guilty smile confirms his suspicions.
"I like walking around the beach at night. It's quiet and peaceful. Let's you think" Wonshik explains.
They dispose of the bottles by the recycling bins and kicks off their shoes and socks to feel the sand beneath their toes. The sand is wet and smooth since the tide receded barely an hour earlier. More of the beach is visible than Hongbin has ever seen in the early mornings when the high tide returns.
"Do you always have a lot on your mind?"
"Not really. But something about the beach makes a person philosophical."
Hongbin hums in agreement and they walk in silence till they find a spot to sit down on. They've been walking forever and his feet are grateful for the break. It's quite a long walk, Hongbin realizes belatedly. It didn't feel like it in Wonshik's company.
Wonshik sits down next to Hongbin. Their hands are very close and Hongbin's hand inches closer to Wonshik's. Their fingers don't touch but they could and Hongbin lets unsaid possibilities linger between them. It's as infinite as the grains of sand that like in between. Innocent and infinite, each just within reach should he gather the courage he needs.
Wonshik is more silent now. Their surroundings have rendered him sober and he looks more peaceful now. His serene smile calms Hongbin down too (though the nervous arrhythmia of his heart never really leaves). He looks out towards the sea and Hongbin looks to him.
"Do you know why I chose to study marine life?" Wonshik asks, his gaze not moving from the sea.
Hongbin shakes his head. Wonshik accurately takes the silence for a no.
"My grandmother was born in Japan. She moved to South Korea to be with my grandfather. She would tell me stories that her grandparents told her" he narrates, laying down so that his head lay on Hongbin's lap.
Hongbin hums in response. The nerves in his thigh are frayed, tingling on contact. The thin denim of his skinny jeans does nothing to prevent the warmth of Wonshik's cheeks seeping in.
"She belonged to a family of fishermen and women. She talked about different types of fish and different tides and different ways of catching them. She told me many myths of the sea" he continues.
"What kind of myths?"
"Of dragons that ruled the waters. Of a lost continent that lay submerged just off the edge of the island and in the middle of the vast east ocean. It had been lost many years ago and the people turned to sea creatures."
"That sounds a lot like the story of Atlantis."
"The folktale says that the people of Mu used so much black magic that the gods got angry and submerged their land. The good people they took pity on were given a chance to start over on Atlantis."
"That didn't end very well did it?"
"Not really. Humans never learn."
"I thought that when I grew up, I would be an adventurer. I would travel the seas and see all the wonderful things for myself."
"Did you see many wonderful things?" Hongbin asks curiously.
"Nothing that compares to you" Wonshik replies honestly. He traces random doodles on Hongbin's thighs and kisses the area closest to his lips. Hongbin can feel the silhouette of his lips and his toes curl in response to the physical action.
Hongbin's cheeks are red and this is the influence of alcohol he will swear later. Or probably the euphoria that comes from having your attraction reciprocated. Hongbin leans down and kisses Wonshik and his brain scrambles to find which of the two excuses to blame for that burst of courage. Wonshik hesitates at first but kisses him back and his brain throws itself out of the window at a breakneck speed.
Wonshik sits up and takes Hongbin's face and kisses it properly. His lips are as soft as the hands running through his hair and Hongbin melts, pliant under his affections. It's the effect of the sea air and the salty soda they've been drinking that Wonshik tastes salty and lemony. Hongbin thinks it's a wonderful departure from the sweet lips stereotype.
Wonshik takes his jacket off from Hongbin's shoulder and pulls the neatly tucked white T-shirt underneath out of his jeans. His hands roam under it as he deepens the kiss and Hongbin moans every time Wonshik's fingers brush against his nipples.
He pushes Wonshik's plaid over shirt off and unbuttons the shirt underneath. He kisses down the center of his neck to as low as he can go on his chest. Wonshik throws his head back and groans. When Hongbin pulls away, Wonshik chases. He kisses him on the neck and squeezes his waist. Both locations have heightened sensitivity and Hongbin whimpers when his body demands release of all the tension building up.
"My apartment isn't far away from here" Wonshik proposes. He leaves butterfly kisses all over Hongbin who doesn't really need incentive to agree.
"I don't know. The atmosphere is kind of romantic here" Hongbin teases. Wonshik laughs and Hongbin grins too. Kissing under the stars with the sounds of waves in the background is not all that bad. Not bad at all really.
Wonshik gets up first and pulls Hongbin up as well. Hongbin stumbles and Wonshik secures him by putting his arms around his waist. Hongbin's eyes twinkle when Wonshik uses the proximity to kiss him again.
"I've wanted to do that for a very long time" Wonshik confesses, resting his forehead on Hongbin's. Their height difference is negligible so their noses and lips align perfectly, Hongbin notices.
"And was it worth the wait?" Hongbin whispers. Wonshik can probably feels his lips move with how close they are.
Wonshik grins before lifting Hongbin up slightly and kissing him. Hongbin yelps before kissing him back. What cheesy nonsense is this? He didn't think anyone would ever sweep him off his feet literally. The force and speed with which Hongbin falls deeper for Wonshik could put dangerous whirlpools to shame.
Kissing Wonshik is like drowning but discovering you can still breathe on the other side. A heady rush of harsh bubbles foaming against your skin which then gives way to the still deep waters where everything else is obscured except the way the gentle descent to the seabed feels.
They kiss for a long time once Wonshik sets him down. The rising tide interrupts them, water reaching up to their toes before receding. If Hongbin was more poetic, he would say the waves are hesitant to interrupt the new romance that has bloomed overnight. But he isn't a poetic man. (He'll learn that Wonshik's romanticism makes up for it later).
Hongbin pulls Wonshik along to further inwards, walking back to the city roads but still holding hands so they don't let the other go. The sun starts to rise along with the morning tide. They've spent the entire night outside but they don't care.
The waters are coloured gold and red and Wonshik's brown eyes have flecks of golden in them. Hongbin's black hair actually has brown highlights which are visible in the sunlight. It's only the beginning of them exploring each other.

Dirty Work- VIXX
Tumblr media
Lee Taekwon→ CEO
Leo got the enterprise by heritage, and he has been his whole life getting ready for that. He has a perfect domain on finances and, despite being so young, he's more than ready. Or at least, that's the image he shows. Who would have thought that he's actually a young boy that, being in his twenties, he still behaves like a teenager and is as clumsy and adorable as a little kid.
Coming soon!
Tumblr media
Cha Haekyeon→ Co-CEO
Hakyeon is the only person that is able to stand Leo, maybe it's because of his behaviour, sweet and extroverted, or maybe because of his facility with words, being able to calm anyone down, or maybe because he knows Leo ever since he was a child. All that, along with his -limited but useful- knowledge about the enterprise made him have a post as the Co-CEO in spite of not having heritage it to fix his friend's mistakes.
Coming soon!
Tumblr media
Kim Wonshik→ Secretary
Wonshik has studied for much more than to be a secretary, but he need the money urgently and he doubts he will ever find a better position. What he wasn't expecting was to have two friends that fight as a married couple as their bosses and whose ways need to be, in many occasions, more than lighted. He still wonders how has he ended up being a nanny when he was interviewed to be a secretary.

Tumblr media
Lee Jaehwan → Personnel manager
Jaehwan is attractive, of course he is. He knows it when he hears sighs behind his back, when he sees how everyone blush when they talk to him, when on San Valentine’s day he receives more phone numbers any other person could ask for. His personality, extroverted and interested in all his employees accompanies his divine image. However, he wants to show that he’s more than just a face, he’s way much more than that.
Coming soon!
Tumblr media
Straight A's Intern → Hongbin
Hongbin, unlike Hyuk, is an organized student, who is interested in his job. He studied something he wasn’t interested in, only in order to follow the path his father once chose, so Hongbin ended up studying in one of the most prestigious companies as an intern due to his father’s contacts. Nevertheless, there’s something missing from him... And, in fact, he needs it a lot.
Coming soon!
Tumblr media
Caothic intern → Hyuk
Hyuk is a genius. He majored in software engineering in one of the most popular universities, he knows how to install and uninstall perfectly any type of program. Electronic devices have no secret to him, and he accomplished all of that without making any effort. Disinterested, messy and a prankster is what defines him perfectly. However, the reason why he doesn’t have an order in his life is because of his constant lack of motivation, which he still hasn’t found.

Stitch Me Back Together- 2
A/N: I would like to clarify that everything written in this story is complete fiction and isn’t to be taken as a true portrayal of reality. This is written in 1st POV, the character’s name is Fleur, and this is a series. I am still working on it, the end date isn’t set as of yet, however, I will try to update it when I can (though two updates are scheduled this month). Every member of Vixx will be featured in this piece, though for this second part the only one of them in it is Ken/Jaehwan. And as always the links to my masterlists will be in the notes!
Summary: Fleur is on a path of discovery, and what she finds might not be what she’s expecting. And we all know that at times, knowledge brings danger.
Word Count: 2,606
Genre: Supernatural/Fantasy/Mythical AU, Angst

During the two weeks that I was off work, Lucille frequently came around. Almost as if she feared that I’d fall apart in a matter of hours if I was left alone for too long. While I wouldn’t break down in tears, I couldn’t guarantee the state of my mind for long. Something just didn’t add up, and I had two weeks to try to come to some sort of conclusion. Any free time I had without Lucille hovering over my shoulder was spent with my nose buried in medical textbooks. Or medical research papers. Or articles relating to medicine. However, the normal sources I went to had very little in the way of explaining what I’d seen. That’s when things took a turn.
I stopped limiting my search to the medical field. At this point, I wasn’t sure if I was losing my marbles or if it was actually something… Supernatural. But I’ve never been the type to give up without getting answers. So, despite being skeptical, I turned to resources I never would have considered otherwise. I frequented sites that gave supernatural explanations, involving magic and creatures that shouldn’t exist. Stores I used to avoid, even going so far as to express my confusion at their existence, became a second home. The person that probably monitors my account might’ve wondered what the hell was going on because I got a fraud alert after buying over $100 worth of books on the supernatural.
Of course, explaining that it was actually me that made those purchases over the phone was a tad interesting. And by that I mean difficult. I kept stammering, feeling like I was being interrogated when in reality all the person wanted was confirmation that I was the one who made the purchases. After that experience, I felt like maybe I was just being paranoid, or going overboard. Except that all changed when I found an explanation that fit. One that, under normal circumstances, I would have thrown directly out the window. It probably wouldn’t have even been allowed a second thought.
Based on the book I found, it said that Remi Juarez was… A shapeshifter. Further research only locked in that explanation in my mind. Some shapeshifter’s hearts beat slower, meaning the blood doesn’t circulate as fast, which could explain why he didn’t bleed out before getting to the ER. His blood had traces of an unknown element, one that made it difficult to figure out what treatments were safe. And I thought it was my imagination initially because no one else saw it, but I saw his face change for a split second- into one of the paramedics. But then it was gone. There was more in the book, but nothing that I’d be able to determine as true without the autopsy report in front of me.
At that point, I still thought I was losing my mind. It just didn’t make sense. All of the creatures and beings from mythology were just supposed to be fairytales, they weren’t meant to actually exist. Magic wasn’t meant to be real, just some fluke that could be easily debunked by science. But I was starting to realize that science couldn’t answer everything. It didn’t have the answers to the questions running through my mind and wreaking absolute havoc. I wanted it to be a dream. Wished that it was all in my head. But I started noticing things. The kind of things that wouldn’t typically hold any value.
Whenever I went out, I would notice at least one person who deviated from the norm but not to the point that just anybody would notice. People whose eyes flashed a different color; had unnaturally sharp incisors when they smiled; laughs that sounded like tinkling bells; beguiling words that could change another’s disposition in a matter of seconds; the slight brushing of one’s hands against another and causing them to go blank like they were in a trance. And I couldn’t keep denying it further, there was no point. I had to accept the fact that the supernatural existed- something I’d been denying since I was a kid. I was always that one kid to call bullshit on the sweet fairytales or scary stories adults would tell.
Fear had consumed me, becoming a permanent part of my being. Sometimes it was the overwhelming kind that could make someone want to curl into a ball in the corner of a room and never move. Other times it was just like a brief flicker of an old tv that’s connection had worsened over the years. The fear was hard to deal with, but I’d always been good at hiding my problems from Lucille. I never wanted her to worry, or be scared, or hurt, and if she saw that I was afraid, well… She’s always been a wild card when it comes to my stronger emotions. Either she’d try to solve the problem for me, or the solution would evade her and just lead her to be upset.
Though, it’s not that Lucille thought I couldn’t handle things on my own. No, she knows I’m more than capable of taking care of myself. Rather, she’s always thought of us as a duo, fighting against the world together. Except that isn’t always a plausible way of handling things. This was one of those times, is one of those times. Feeling useless and paranoid wasn’t something I wanted to share with her, it’s something I needed to carry on my own.
Tumblr media
My first day back at the hospital after reaching such a conclusion was nothing short of a mess. Keeping my mind clear was difficult. Whenever I saw something slightly out of the ordinary, the kind of thing that could be explained in one of the supernatural books I bought, it would stay in my head, flitting about. There were only two good things that happened that day: my request for a copy of Remi Juarez’s autopsy report was approved, and I managed to, somehow, perform my job without a falter. I was surprised that, despite the upheaval of the world I’d come to know, I could still function enough to treat patients effectively.
Today seemed to be going better though. I’d had my morning coffee and got to chat with Lucille a bit before she went to sleep. The sterile smell of the hospital, one that took me a long while to get used to, brought a new sense of comfort to me now. I was back where I was meant to be.
“Fleur, hey,” Selene called out, pausing me in my tracks.
“Oh,” I respond, lips parted and eyebrows raised. I’d been too lost in my head to notice I was passing the nurse’s station. Selene has been the resident gossip since she was hired two years ago. “Hello, how are you, Selene?”
She plastered a sympathetic smile on her face, it looked forced. She then pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “I feel like I should be asking you that question. Of course, I’m more than fine! How are you holding up though, dearie?”
Bile rose up in the back of my throat. I’ve always hated small talk, especially if it was the fake, prying kind. People like that never actually cared about you, they just wanted information they could spread. “I’m managing. Thank you for your concern.” My lips pressed into a thin smile before I stepped past her.
Pleasantries are something I try to avoid as much as I can, it feels contrived. No one tells the truth to such questions, just as they don’t expect the truth. Such questions have become a way of greeting, not actually being asked because the other person cares. And heaven forbid you tell the truth, that’s a good way of making someone freeze in place. I could hear the way she huffed in annoyance as I walked off. It was no surprise to me though, not at this point. Selene wasn’t a pleasant person to begin with and she only got worse with time.
Now only one thing was on my mind: the autopsy report. I knew it’d be waiting for me when I arrived for my shift today, and I was anxious to get my hands on it. After retrieving the file, I quickly made my way to the doctor’s lounge to skim it before my shift starts. Settling down in one of the rickety chairs, I tried to convince myself that nothing would be out of the ordinary. But of course, such a wish couldn’t be granted.
Multiple irregularities seemed to jump straight from the page, and I was helpless not to fixate on them. The oddities started from the rate his blood clotted, to his bone density, and even to the bullets he was shot with. One of my first conclusions was proved to be true: Remi Juarez was shot from two directions. Meaning there were two shooters. Both seemed to have used the same bullets though, a mixture of silver and steel, which made it likely they were working together.
Another thing I learned from the report was that there was truly nothing else I could have done to save him. Each step I took was correct, and despite his slow blood flow, he had just lost far too much blood at that point. With the number of bullets that riddled his body, it was surprising he hadn’t bled out faster, let alone that his heart had managed to keep beating. But I still have questions that the report hasn’t answered. Why were there two shooters in the first place? Why wasn’t he dead on arrival? How did he survive for so long? And why, exactly, was the detective relieved when I didnt know anything?
Twelve hours later, at eight in the evening, long since the sky had darkened considerably, I finished my shift. The air was crisp and refreshing after having been cooped up inside all day. Leaves crunched under my feet as I walked down the sidewalk, my eyes taking in the beautiful scenery of the city at night. People bustled about, groceries clutched in their hands, pushing strollers, young couples holding hands, businessmen with phones glued to their ears. I hadn’t driven to work this morning, and I was quite happy with that decision. I think I needed this, to see life like this.
That feeling didn’t die down until I was closer to my apartment building, maybe five minutes away. The street lights were flickering and I couldn’t spot another person on the sidewalks. The air felt eerie and thick, making it hard to catch my breath. Then I heard a low growling, joined by something scraping against the cement, sending chills up my spine. I swallowed the growing panic, the likelihood of something or someone being behind me was low. Clearly I haven’t been getting enough sleep since I’m imagining things.
Except I wasn’t imagining things, and I knew it the second I felt hot breath on the back of my neck. I jerked forward instantly but was quickly pulled back by long, twisted claws. A scream bubbled up in my throat, begging to be released- a plea that I ignored. The low growling started again, growing louder with each passing second, and this time it was directly in my ear. I felt the creature’s saliva drip onto my shoulder, soaking into my jacket.
I felt frozen in place, be it by terror or because of some mind trick the beast played on me I couldn’t tell, and I didn’t care which it was. I just wished I was running. That my feet would start without my mind telling them to. If ever there was a time for my feet to have a mind of their own it’s now. But alas, I had no such luck. The creature’s claws dragged down my arm, ripping through the fabric of my coat and digging into my skin. At that moment it was like my body woke up, I tore out of the beast’s grasp, ignoring the searing pain in my arm as its claws left me. I ran and I didn’t stop. My feet pounded down the sidewalk until I could make out my apartment building in the distance, but even then I didn’t stop- I could still feel the creature hot on my trail.
One second I was running and the next I was lying on the concrete, a grisly claw gripping my ankle. A panicked shriek pierced the air as I looked back and saw the creature. Its eyes glowed a dark red, with tough gray skin that resembled the concrete underneath me, and vicious-looking fangs that protruded from its mouth. Terror flooded my veins, this thing looked like a monster straight from my childhood nightmares. I kicked my free foot at its face, catching it by surprise and causing its grasp on me to falter. In that instant I shot to my feet, continuing my race to my apartment building.
This time I made it safely inside, but I didn’t relax until I was in my apartment with each entryway sealed. My breathing was heavy, coming out in pants as adrenaline raced through me. My mind was spinning. What had I done to get a beast sicced on me? Did someone know that I’d figured out what Remi Juarez was? Am I a target now? Once I’d calmed down enough, I felt the blood trailing down my arm, dripping onto the hardwood floors beneath my feet. Glancing at the scratches left behind by whatever that creature was, it was easy to tell that they weren’t deep enough to need stitches. I could take care of this myself with some disinfectant and gauze.
By the time my arm was wrapped up nice and tight, it was just past ten o’clock. There was only one person I could call. One person I could question. And I wasn’t even sure if he’d give me any answers, but I could try. Grabbing my cellphone from the counter, I dialed the small numbers on the card I’d kept close to me since I got it. The line rang, once, twice, three times. I thought I was going to go through to voicemail, but then I heard his voice.
     “Hello?”
“Detective Lee, this is Fleur Boudreaux.” I could feel my determination wavering.
“Oh,” he sounded surprised. “It’s quite late, what are you calling about?”
“I need to talk to you,” I whispered hoarsely. “It’s important.”
     “Right now?”
     “Right now.”
He was at my door thirty minutes later, dressed in a more casual outfit than the last time I saw him. When he came into my apartment, the door fully closed behind him, I hesitated as I felt his gaze on me.
“What happened to your arm?” Detective Lee asked, stepping forward, eyebrows bunching together in concern.
“It’s why I called you,” I breathed out, moving my eyes to his. “I… Was attacked.”
His eyes widened considerably. “Attacked? Why didn’t you call the police?”
     “Aren’t you the police?”
     “I mean, yes, but‒”
I cut him off quickly. “I couldn’t just call the police about this. It had to be you, at least I think it has to. Anyone else will just think I’m crazy.”
The look in his eyes changed, realization flashing in them. “What are you talking about?”
“What I’m talking about,” I say, stepping forward. “Is Remi Juarez. He wasn’t human, and neither was the thing that attacked me tonight. So I have some questions I need you to answer, starting with: what the hell have I been dragged into?”

Description: Hongbin and Baekhyun stare at each other and the room suddenly fills with tension.
Genre: Smut // Fluff // Slight Angst
Pairing: Byun Baekhyun x Reader
Mobile Masterlist | Request
After your talk with Hongbin you’re feeling a bit better about everything. With your decision to come here and leaving Baekhyun like that. If Baekhyun really is your true mate or just someone that actually cares about you then he should understand. You needed to learn about yourself and without Baekhyun.
So with that in your mind, the next morning you leave your room and walk across the hall to Hongbin’s room. You take a deep breath and raise your fist and knock on the door.
A couple of seconds go by and the door opens. Hongbin stands in front of you towel around his shoulders, hair dripping and and only wearing pair of shorts.
He rubs the back of his head with the towel. “Oh, hey Y/N. Good morning.” He smiles.
Your face heats up as you stare at his defined muscles. “I-Is this a bad time?”
He shakes his head no which makes the water from his hair drip down his abs.
“No. I was actually going to train in the gym. What’s up?”
An idea pops in your head. “Can I come?” You ask.
“Sure. Just let me get dressed.” He awkwardly closes the door so you wait against the wall patiently.
A couple minutes later, Hongbin walks out of his room now wearing a t-shirt and his hair semi dry.
The two of you walk in silence until you get to the gym doors.
“By the way, I’m going to be training with Sanghyuk so you can watch and see how we fight.”
You nod and walk over to a bench close to where the two boys were standing. They start off by stretching and after you watch as they both walk over to the wall and grab what looked like a sword similar to the one Jaehwan used.
“Y/N, come here.”
You walk over to the two boys. Hongbin pulls his sword out of his sheath and walks closer to you.
“So this is what foxes use to fight with. It’s called a katana sword and it’s especially deadly when the kitsune has an elemental power,”
“See look,” Hongbin points to the the blade in his hand. “It’s made out of this special metal that can absorb my power and use it to help me fight.” You see the blade light up, the characters on the handle glowing white.
“Mine glows white and Sanghyuk’s glows yellow.” He says pointing to Sanghyuk’s sword.
Hongbin tells you that they’re going to start sparing now so you take your seat. You watch with interest as the two men fight with so much energy and your surprised that anyone could do that.
After about 20 minutes of them training Sanghyuk gets a text from Hakyeon.
“Sorry hyung, but Hakyeon-hyung needs to talk to me.”
Hongbin waves him off. “It’s all good. See you later.”
Sanghyuk nods and waves at you. You watch him leave and you take it as your chance to go up to Hongbin. Now that you’re up close you can see that his hair is sticking to his forehead and he rolls the sleeves of his t-shirt up.
“That was pretty cool.” You tell him. He smiles and thanks you.
“Could I hold it?” You say staring at the sword. You were suddenly so drawn to it and wanted to touch it.
Hongbin walks over to you and gently places the handle in your hand. Once you feel the weight of the sword in your hands, Hongbin walks behind you. “Here, I’ll show you how to move with it.”
You feel his arms wrap around you as his hand cup yours in attempt to show you how to wield the sword. You almost stand frozen in his arms until you hear his voice again. His lips are close to your ear as he speaks.
“Ready?”
You take a deep breath and nod. Hongbin starts to move his arms with yours moving the blade through the air swiftly. Your heart’s racing from the feeling of finally holding something that’s connected to your fox and the fact that you can feel Hongbin’s breath on your neck.
“Now try it by yourself.” He tells you while pulling away. You nod and start moving the sword around just like Hongbin had taught you. You look down at the handle and realize that it’s glowing just like how Hongbin and Sanghyuk’s was only it was in gold.
“Is it supposed to glow?” You ask him curiously. Hongbin looks at the handle as well and his eyes widen.
“Oh my god, Y/N. You have an elemental power?”
You look up at him as he comes closer. “What, really?”
He nods in excitement. “Yeah. The only way you can find out which one you have is if you wield the sword that’s been passed down through your family.”
You put the sword down and try to remember everything your grandma told you.
“But I can’t. My families sword is in Xiumin’s library.” You tell him sadly.
A smile comes over Hongbin’s face. “I guess we just have to get it then.”
...
“I won’t let you go.”
Hakyeon stares at Hongbin with crossed arms. For the past 10 minutes, Hongbin was trying to convince Hakyeon to let you two get your sword from Xiumin’s library. You’re sitting next to Sanghyuk who the two of you saw as he was leaving Hakyeon’s office. Before going in you told him about your mission and he said he’d come along to help.
Hongbin sighs and rolls his eyes. “Hyung seriously why not?”
“Because, it’s dangerous! You don’t know what Xiumin will do if he catches you. And what happens if he finds us? Im not going to let anyone of us get hurt by a werewolf again.”
Hongbin nods. “Hyung, I understand what you’re saying, I do,” Hongbin rubs Hakyeon’s shoulder trying to calm him down. “But she needs her katana even more now and you know that. She didn’t come to us just to sit around. She needs to become a true kitsune.”
Hakyeon sighs while pinching the bridge of his nose. His head drops and he makes eye contact with you.
“Y/N, are you sure you want to do this?” He asks sternly.
You immediately nod. “I do.”
Hakyeon sighs again. “What am I gonna do with you kids.”
Hongbin grins. “So is that a yes?”
“Yes, but on one condition. You can’t take Hyuk with you.” Hakyeon says looking directly at Sanghyuk who is sitting next to you.
“Hyung, why not?” Sanghyuk whines.
Hakyeon goes over to Sanghyuk and wraps his arms around the youngest. “Because I like you the best and I will not be sending you off on Hongbin’s suicide mission.”
You look at Hongbin as he gives you a thumbs up sign all while Sanghyuk tries to push Hakyeon off of him.
“Okay! Okay! I won’t go.” Sanghyuk groans as he manages to push Hakyeon off.
“I guess it’s time to figure out how were getting into that mansion.” Hongbin suggests.
“I guess so.”
...
one month later
You’ve been training everyday with Hongbin and it’s the day before your mission to get your sword. You can’t believe you’ve come this far. Hongbin has taught you everything you’d need in a fight and you thought you were getting pretty good.
At the moment you’re in a dual with Hongbin. You told him to not go easy on you so he was putting his full effort in trying to get your weapon out of your hand.
“You’re good.” He smirks before he suddenly grabs your arm and bending it enough so that your katana falls from your hand. His chest is pressed against your back and you can feel his heavy breathing on your neck making a chill run up your spine.
“But not good enough.” He whispers.
You laugh. “You sure?”
With your quick thinking you remember how Hongbin taught you how to flip the attack on your opponent if your hands are trapped. With ease you trip Hongbin so he’s on the floor while you straddle him and manage to grab his sword and press it against his neck. Hongbin looks up at you with wide eyes.
“What were you saying?”
You hear clapping from the side so you look over to see Hakyeon and Jaehwan.
“Impressive work, Y/N.” Hakyeon compliments you. For the last month you’ve been trying to get Hakyeon to see how good you’ve gotten at fighting so you were excited that he caught the ending of your sparing with Hongbin.
“Thank you oppa.” You get off Hongbin and help him off the ground.
“How are you guys feeling about tomorrow?” He asks with concern. You knew from the beginning that Hakyeon was hesitate on you and Hongbin going to Xiumin’s base. He really didn’t want you especially going but he understood why you had to.
Hongbin shrugs and almost gets hit by Hakyeon.
“Fine, hyung. There’s nothing for you to worry about.”
He sighs. “There’s just more of them then there is of us. I can’t help but feel worried.”
Within the short month you’ve been here you’ve gotten really close to Hakyeon, Jaehwan, Sanghyuk and of course Hongbin. They all treated you like a little sister--well except for Hongbin. There was something about him that you couldn’t figure out. Was he just being friendly? You couldn’t tell, well that was until you were talking with Sanghyuk in the tree that the two of you found while on a hike a week ago.
“Really Y/N? Don’t play dumb.” Hyuk laughs as he reaches for your hand to help you onto the branch.
“I’m not! Seriously what are you talking about?” You finally sit next to Hyuk and he rolls his eyes.
“Really? You can’t tell that Hongbin likes you?”
You blink. You didn’t really see it. Yeah he was being nice to you but that was because Hakyeon made him. It could’ve been any of the other guys.
“He’s just nice. Besides, he has a mate somewhere waiting for him and I--”
Hyuk raises his hand cutting you off, “1. he doesn’t have a mate and 2. you need to get over Baekhyun.”
You pout. Ever since you started talking to Hyuk it was like you couldn’t stop. So now he knew all the details of what had happened with Baekhyun. It was different with Hyuk because he would just listen and let you vent about everything. With Hongbin you felt like you couldn’t spill all your secrets. It almost felt like you’d potentially ruin something if you ever did.
“It’s not that simple, Hyuk.”
He shrugs and runs his hand over the tree. “It could be if you just let it happen. I can tell hyung likes you. He wouldn’t be trying so hard, basically risking himself to help you get your katana back. I think after you get your sword you should talk to him about it. Just ask him.”
You groan. “Fine. Now will you drop this?”
You tried not to think about what Hyuk had said but it sort of threw you off during your next training session with Hongbin.
You fumble a little with your footwork, cursing under your breath. Hongbin looks at you and gestures you to take a seat next to him on the mats.
“Sit. Lets talk.”
“What’s going on? You’ve been acting strange all morning.”
You shake your head while taking a sip from your water bottle. “I’m sorry. I didn’t sleep well.” You lie. Well you actually didn’t sleep well but that wasn’t what was bothering you.
He crosses his arms. “Did something happen between you and Hyuk? You’ve been hanging out with him a lot lately.” Hongbin doesn’t look at you when he brings Hyuk into the conversation.
“No? We’re just friends.”
He raises a brow. “You sure?”
Your throat goes dry. Why would Hongbin ask you if you’re just friends with Sanghyuk? Then the conversation you had with him plays in your mind.
Really? You can’t tell that Hongbin likes you?
“I promise. We’re just friends.”
Hongbin wraps his arm around your shoulders not minding that you were sweaty and for some reason you didn’t mind either.
“Really hyung, you have nothing to worry about. Y/N knows her way around the place and she’ll have Jaehwan and I for back up with Wonsik waiting for us in the car.”
Hakyeon sighs. “I hope you’re right.”
...
You lay in bed trying to fall asleep but the full moon has you wide awake. You flip on your side as you look at the bright white light that seeps into your room and sigh. Just looking at the moon reminds you of Baekhyun and you’re feeling nervous about your mission.
Suddenly, you hear a knock on your door. The door opens a bit and you see Hongbin.
“You haven’t fallen asleep yet?” He asks you as he takes a step into your room. You shake your head.
“I’m not tired yet.” You say. You gesture for him to take a seat on your bed. The two of you sit quietly listening to the silence in the tree house.
“Whenever we have something important to do for the next day like a mission or as a kid all those training tests, the elders would give us this to eat.” Hongbin pulls out two wrapped candies from his pocket and hands one to you.
“They’re called Yeot. It’s a type of sticky and sweet candy made from rice.  Because it is so sticky it is believed that good fortune will stick on to you.”
You take one of the candies after thanking him.
“My halmeoni used to give me these before my parents stopped me from seeing her.”
“Did you miss her?”
You nod. “Everyday. It felt like my best friend moved away. I never knew why until I went to her house almost a month ago.”
“I remember your halmeoni was one of the nicer elders. She wouldn’t get mad at us and she would always tell me that I would someday find my mate and she would be beautiful.” He looked at you.
You’re glad that the two of you are sitting in the dark. Only the light from the moon was there so you were thankful that he couldn’t see your blush.
“Well we should really get some rest.” Hongbin mutters. He’s about to get off your bed but you grab his hand to stop him.
“Do you mind if you stay here?” You ask nervously.
Hongbin blinks. “I promise I won’t touch you and these beds are huge. I just sleep better with someone else in the room.”
Hongbin giggles. “Y/N you had me at stay.”
...
“What are we going to do with these two?”
“It’s not like they have all day.”
“Oh just let them sleep they look so cute.”
You hear voices as you slowly start to wake up the next morning.
“Oh it looks like Y/N is about to wake up.”
You groan rubbing at your eyes. You try getting up but you feel like something is holding you down. Some thing that felt really warm and cozy. You almost didn’t want to get up but you were so curious as to what had you trapped.
“Look at hyung’s face. I’ve never seen him smile while he slept.”
Your eyes snap open and you immediately see Hakyeon, Jaehwan and Hyuk standing next to you. Hyuk had his phone in his hand and it looks like he’s taking pictures.
“What’re you guys doing here?” You narrow your eyes trying your best to block out the sunlight.
“Y/N don’t you remember? We were supposed to have breakfast together but you two never showed up. Long night?”
Hakyeon hits Hyuk to get him quiet while you furrow your eyebrows in confusion. Jaehwan snickers at your reaction and Hakyeon sighs.
“Sweetie, has Hongbin been here all night?” He asks you nervously.
You eyes widen a bit and that’s when you look down to see an arm wrapped around your waist. Your face suddenly gets hot and you don’t think because you’re aggressively pushing Hongbin away and he somehow lands on the floor.
You hear Hongbin groans as you pull the covers over your body. You just realized besides Hongbin there was 3 other boys in your room and you were suddenly feel self conscious.
Hongbin places his hands on the mattress and looks at everyone. “What happened?”
Everyone bursts out laughing and you try your very best to hide under the covers.
...
You’re about to climb into the van that will take you and the boys to Xiumin’s mansion when you feel someone pull at your arm.
“Hey could I talk to you?” Hongbin asks while still holding onto your wrist. You nod and let him pull you over to the side so you could talk in private.
“I just wanted to apologize about last night or this morning. I don’t want it to be awkward between us.”
You smile a little. “Hey don’t worry about it. I was the one who asked you to stay.”
Hongbin sighs. “So we’re good?”
Remembering what Hyuk had told you you’re suddenly feeling confident. You place your hands on Hongbin’s shoulders and place a chaste kiss on his cheek.
“All good.”
...
“It’s just down this pathway.” You tell Wonsik. He nods. “I’ll park a bit into the forest so it looks like we’re camping.”
Once everyone is out of the car you start heading towards the mansion. Your heart starts to race the closer you get and you slowly become more nervous. You suddenly feel a hand clasped around yours and you look up to see Hongbin. He smiles down at you before squeezing your hand.
“Don’t worry. I have your back.”
“Me too!” Jaehwan says taking a hold of Hongbin’s other hand. Hongbin groans and tries to push him away. “Hyung stop it. You’re seriously so annoying.”
About a minute later the three of you make it to the house. You look at the boys once more. “Let’s do this.”
You never understood but Xiumin always had the front door unlocked so it was easy to get into the mansion and even easier to locate the library. It only took the three of you a couple minutes to get there and finally stand in front of the display with your sword inside.
“Wow, I can’t believe it was that easy to get in here.” Jaehwan whispers.
“Yeah you would’ve thought they’d have more security or something.” Hongbin adds.
You roll your eyes. “Alright guys, enough talking so we can get the heck out of here.”
In a few minutes you have the glass open and the pieces of the sword in your backpack ready to go when you suddenly hear the door to the library open. The three of you freeze ready to hide when you hear his voice.
“Y/N? Is that you?”
You spin around and standing only a few feet away from you is Baekhyun. He looks the same except his black hair was now white.
He takes a few steps towards you. “Y/N, what’re you doing here?”
Hongbin immediately steps in front of you and pulls out his sword. “Back up man, we were just leaving.”
Baekhyun narrows his eyes. “Y/N, who’s this?”
Hongbin and Baekhyun stare at each other and the room suddenly fills with tension. All you want is to get out of here in one piece so you grab at Hongbin’s arm.
Put your sword down and let me talk to him.”
“What? That’s not happening.” Hongbin spits back as he glares at Baekhyun.
You pull Hongbin around and make him look at you. “We need to get out of here and the only way is if I talk to him. Please, Hongbin. I still trust him.”
Hongbin’s face softens at your words and he reluctantly lets you past him over to Baekhyun.
You can see how shocked Baekhyun is to see you. He thought he’s never see you again. Not after what happened that night.
“Y/N, what’s going on?” Baekhyun immediately takes your hand in his. “Why are you here?”
“I’m sorry, Baekhyun but it’s really complicated.”
“Then explain why you did what you did? Besides being my mate you’re supposed to be my best friend.”
You can see the hurt all over Baekhyun’s face. You wish you could explain everything but right now wasn’t the right time.
“Baekhyun I’m—” Hongbin cuts you off.
“Y/N, we really have to go.” His voice pulls you away from looking at Baekhyun. Time is running out and if you stay any longer with Baekhyun you know that you’ll eventually get caught by Xiumin and the others.
“I’m so sorry Baek, but we have to go.”
You’re confused and upset but without another word you and the guys leave Baekhyun standing in the library. You’re trying your best not to show the guys how upset you are from seeing Baekhyun so push your feelings aside and focus on getting back to the car.
Finally the three of you make it to Wonsik’s car hidden in the forest and you’re about too climb into his car when Hongbin pulls you back.
“What the heck was that back there, Y/N?” Hongbin looks mad and you can understand that he has every right to be. You could’ve blown the mission but it was Baekhyun and you knew he wouldn’t let you leave without saying a word to him.
“You know I only did that to get us out of there, right?”
Hongbin rolls his eyes. “Sure, how are we supposed to believe that? You obviously still have feelings for him.”
Jaehwan steps in, “Calm down Hongbin. You don’t have to be an asshole.”
“Am I wrong though? You still love him don’t you?”
“Y/N!” You turn around to the sound of your name and see Baekhyun running towards you.
“Baekhyun? Did you follow us?”
Baekhyun’s breathing heavily but shakes his head. “No but there’s something I need to tell you.”
“Ever since you disappeared Xiumin knew you’d come back for that sword. He knew that because he knew all along that you were a fox. It’s a long story but he knew you’d come for it so he made sure to take one of the swords pieces and it’s sitting in his desk. You can’t leave without that last piece.”
Hongbin grabs your hand and you automatically look at Baekhyun for his reaction. He looks annoyed but doesn’t dare to look at Hongbin. “You can’t trust him. This could be a trap, Y/N.”
“I’m not lying to you Y/N, you know that I would never.”
You’re conflicted at this point. You’re not sure who to listen to but as you look into Baekhyun’s eyes you know that he’d never lie to you. Despite everything that has happened you still care about him deeply and you know that in the end he’ll always be there for you.
You pull away from Hongbin and go over to Baekhyun. “I believe you but how am I supposed to get the last sword piece back?”
“It’s not going to be easy but I’ve been keeping an eye out for Xiumin. He usually leaves his office around 3:15 to have tea with Luna. I can sneak into his office and get the sword piece for you.”
“You’re going to betray your alpha? There has to be a catch.” Wonsik mutters.
Baekhyun chews on his lip nervously. “If I do this there’s no going back to being a member of this pack. I knew that the day you left me but I can’t be without you anymore. Even if it means you’ll just be my friend. If I do this Y/N, please take me with you.”

Aisle 5... Aisle 6... Aisle 7... Aisle 8... Where is my mom?
Y/N walked down the aisles as she searched for her parents, holding a box of muffins she has been craving since earlier today.
Lingering around the grocery store, she aimlessly opened a fridge door to pick up a pint of ice cream on the way. Before she could close the door, a man swiftly took the pint of ice cream out of her grasp.
“Thank you. Mint Chocolate Chip, just what I needed.”
A sort of shiver ran down Y/N’s body when she heard the voice. Figuring it was due to the cold from the frozen aisle, she shook off her thoughts of the sudden shiver and was brought back to reality. She looked up to see a tall, gorgeous, jet-black haired thief.
“Excuse you! Being tall and awfully good-looking doesn’t give you the right to steal from a short girl.”
Why does my mouth get the better of me...
The mysterious thief chuckled, clearly amused at her sudden slip of the tongue.
“Anyways... Give me back my ice cream!”
“Yours? I don't see your name written on it.”
Y/N coldly chuckled, “Nobody dare takes what is mine.”
With a glimpse back at the fridge, her eyes caught a bag of frozen peas resting by the ice cream pints. Without any hesitation, she takes the frozen bag and chucks it at the man's face.
“Jerk! You might want some rocky road ice cream instead they’re the best for healing.”
With one last glare Y/N takes her muffin and ice cream and swiftly walks out of the aisle.
She continues to search for her mom but has still not found her. She gives up and pays for the items she has, hoping to find her back at the car. When she walks to the check out line, she feels a tall shadow behind her but brushes it off and starts scanning her items.
On the way to her car, she can’t help but feel bothered. She senses the same shadow behind her, but when she turns around, there’s nobody there. Just when she was about to continue walking, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist and mouth. She couldn’t move. She couldn’t breathe. And slowly, her visions start to blur.
Before she was unconscious, she heard a familiar voice say, “You should’ve given me the pint of ice cream Y/N.”
