Added to that is the chance of secondary optional difficulties that may lead to organ failure and meddle with the treatment process. Additionally, the area’s most prone to injuries include head and spine, along with other forms of trauma like crushing or hitting a blunt object, affecting internal organs of the abdomen or chest. While immediate transfer to a hospital trauma care unit is a must, some measure of care must be taken at the accident site itself to ensure safety of the victim. Though First aid is a necessary, it must be ensured that a person with head injuriey is not fed water, a spinal injury patient must be carried with the back fully supported, a cardboard or hardboard splint is tied with a clean cloth to support bone fractures, among other things. In case someone’s limb is severed, the torn limb should be washed with clean water and placed in a ice box, and the remaining section should be tied tightly with clean cloth. In the event of Profuse bleeding, strong pressure should be applied to the injured region and a clean cloth fixing to it to minimize the blood flow. When moved to the hospital, the victim may require expert assistance from neurosurgeons, orthopedics, plastic surgeons and general surgeons, and all this in a well equipped trauma center with adequate technology and infrastructure to provide proper treatment #VivekanandaHospital has the infrastructure and manpower to provide such modern trauma care to accident victims.
