Day 23 - Quality of Life for the dev

Making a visual novel, is all about the words. I mean, it's also about the art, the music, the graphics, etc etc, but still, a lot of it is words. So a lot of writing needs to be done.

With that in mind, I have the naninovel IDE extension for VSCode installed!

I'll also be making sure Code Spell Checker is installed! https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=streetsidesoftware.code-spell-checker Now, before I get started writing the script. I needed to make sure TMP Essentials was also imported! I then set the prologue script to be my start script in the naninovel configuration.

And that's about it. (I overwrote what I had and forgot, so I'll see you tomorrow).

Introducing The Cast: Player Number Nine, Iris Williams

Character Info: Iris Williams is the ninth person selected and recruited into participating in the survival game. Upbeat and bursting with seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm, Iris makes it her mission to bring smiles to the faces of the other players and keep positive vibes all around. She has a tendency to get ahead of herself and act before thinking things through properly. 

While one of the most affable in the group, her personality makes her quite troublesome to handle.

My Alien Roommate is a story-driven romance visual novel about having an alien roommate who you try to keep secret from the rest of the world.

Play as Riley (name changeable) in this GxB/BxB romantic visual novel and pursue one of three male Love Interests: the socially-anxious childhood friend Lucas, the intelligent but arrogant “Class President” Felix Yang, or the man alien of the hour himself, Enoch.

Meet “Class President” Felix Yang, Riley’s biggest academic rival and Love Interest #3! Resident Teacher’s Pet Felix is competitive, dedicated, studious - and not very friendly. With seemingly no priorities besides his studies, his arrogance puts him at odds with Riley many a time.

Meet Lucas, one of Riley’s best friends since childhood and Love Interest #2! Others think him cold or distant because he struggles with social anxiety, but friends know him as loyal, soft-hearted, and always up for a good game of basketball.

Introducing The Cast: Player Number One, Wyatt Ackerman

Character Info: Dr. Wyatt Ackerman is the first person selected and recruited into participating in the survival game. He is generally a caring person, often offering and willing to help those in need when the situation calls for it. However, his kindness is mainly overlooked by the other players whenever he loses his temper. His short temper and outbursts of rage make him one of the most irrational players.

Incredibly proud about his social status, he acts as the de facto leader of the group, using his numerical value as an excuse to take charge. Strict and uptight, the man expects upmost respect from others.

Introducing The Cast: Player Number Two, Melanie Slater

Character Info: Melanie Slater is the second person selected and recruited into participating in the survival game. Sick and twisted with a demented mindset, Melanie doesn’t bother hiding her desires to kill the other players to get the One Million Dollar prize. Her ruthlessness and irrationality makes her one of the most frightening players in the game. 

She’s out for number one, and she’ll do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Introducing The Cast: Game Moderator, Caius

Character Info: Caius is the Game Moderator of the survival game. He oversees the players and ensures that they follow the rules. Having a flair for the dramatics, he speaks dramatically and is very expressive through his body movement, wildly posturing and gesturing with intentional dramatic pauses as if putting on a performance.

Boasting immense pride and joy in his position, Caius enjoys the survival game and the horrors that the players witness.

Introducing The Cast: Player Number Twelve, Troy Ambrose

Character Info: Troy Ambrose is the Main Character of the story. He is the twelfth and final person selected and recruited into the survival game. Abrasive and apathetic, Ambrose’s rough personality and attitude makes him hard to approach and befriend, which is what he prefers.

Very blunt and straightforward, he comes off as very cold and harsh when communicating with the other players. Often cynical and confrontational when something happens that he doesn’t like. 

Only adding to his rough exterior, Ambrose’s passion and goal-oriented mindset makes him very dangerous to face. He refuses to allow anything to get in the way of what he wants.
