Musing about my topic

It’s always difficult coming up with an idea for a project that 1) will be worthwhile making, and 2) that will be of suitable size, neither too extensive or bare. I’ve decided a good place to start would be to reflect on what I’ve already learnt at my time at Goldsmiths, and what I’ll learn in the future. The project will be a summation of my degree, so the first few blog posts will be mostly for my benefit as I remind myself of what I've done over the past 3 years. For the entire timeline I’ll really only talk about what I think will be useful to me.

The first year of uni for me was foundation year, and while useful in the broad scheme of becoming a computer scientist, it wasn’t until the first official year of the degree where we started to hone on in the more creative aspects of computing. One of my projects for that year was a simple beat machine, which was intended to be simple to use through design and principle

This sparked a passion for working with both audio and visual elements in a project and really it’s paved the way for how I’ve orientated the rest of my degree so far. It made me realise I don’t want to be a software developer making games or business applications, I want to create things.
