Transitional Lake House Interior Design Ideas

Featuring homes built by Hendel Homes (previously featured here) always gets me excited and this is one of the most exquisite homes I have published on Home Bunch.

This is not an average home and you can see that the moment you set your eyes on it. In fact, this home is the type of home that awakens your senses, makes you stop, look and think. Therefore, rather than try to describe it… I rather you feel it.

A contemporary interpretation of classic design, this Artisan beauty is perfectly placed on Lake Minnetonka.

This gorgeous gated property is private and surrounded by nature.

Curb-appeal

Black accents beautifully complements the stucco siding.

Architecture

Nearly every room makes use of the incredible views, yet the expansive glass windows and disappearing doors have refined detail that feels warm and inviting.

Copper gutters and accents make this home even more outstanding.

Ceiling treatment is a sound attenuation product called Bara Aaal sound fabric. Paint color is “Benjamin Moore OC-64 Pure White”, Flat.

All cabinetry & furniture are custom. For your convenience, I’ll be sharing some similar options.

Hardwood Flooring

All wood is White oak, riffed, with custom stain – The entire first floor is herringbone. Wall paint color is “Benjamin Moore OC-22 Calm” and the staircase was custom-built by Hendel Homes.

Artwork

The entire home features work from artists from all over the world, including laser-cut metal art inlaid in the gallery hallway.

Dining Room

Featuring a transitional style, this dining room is certainly impressive without compromising on comfort.

Board & Batten Modern Farmhouse

After almost ten years of blogging I can say that I have never featured a home I didn’t like here on Home Bunch. Interior trends come and go, new ideas appear, styles change, but the more homes you see and work with, the more you quickly understand as to which ones won’t be forgotten and this modern farmhouse is one of them.

With interior design by Stephanie Gamble of Stephanie Gamble Interiors, this new construction is beautiful and inspiring from its curb-appeal to its decor. According to the designer, the clients are a super sweet (and hip) couple in their early thirties with a young baby. They felt it was more important to have a quality, well-built, smaller house rather than an enormous house where they would have had to compromise on finished details and quality. I think this is something that people should really prioritize!

Board & Batten Modern Farmhouse

This stunning modern farmhouse features white board and batten siding, brick and black steel windows. The roof is metal. They feature snow guards, which help to keep snow and ice from falling.

Front Porch & Front Door

The interior designer worked closely with the homeowner and architect and had the front door customized. Although, she couldn’t confirm it, the designer believes the paint color is Benjamin Moore Exotic Red 2086-10.

This is the type of dining room I love – it’s very comfortable and it feels collected without being too precious.

Dining Room Table Decor: Instead of using a pillar candle, the designer added an orchid into the hurricane. Beautiful and simple.

The kitchen features a dark grey island with honed white marble countertop, industrial backless counterstools, brass cone pendant light and V-Grove ceiling.

The perimeter cabinets are painted in Benjamin Moore Simply White.

Cabinets were manufactured by Rojhan.

New 2018 Family Home Decor Trends How wonderful it is to start a brand new year with you all! Often I look back and I still can’t believe I started Home Bunch almost ten years ago and I feel this huge gratitude to each and every one of you that day after day come to read my posts and be part of this community. I honestly hope your year is filled with blessings and special moments. Today, I am also very happy to be featuring a beautifully designed family home by Shuman Mabe Interiors, LLC. As you will see, this home features many ideas that we will continue to see in 2018. The interior designers and the builder, The Cottage Home Company, had the pleasure of helping these clients from Wisconsin from start to finish with this newly-built home. The clients have family in Florida that come to stay a few months out of the year, so they wanted the space to be practical and able to accommodate their large family and grandkids! Since the property sits on the inter-coastal, they wanted to keep a coastal Florida vibe, while incorporating a modern and timeless touch. The designers call it modern coastal! Let’s take a look! New 2018 Family Home Decor Trends Siding is Chelsea Gray by Benjamin Moore and trim is White Dove by Benjamin Moore. Front Porch Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray HC-168 is one of the most popular Benjamin Moore grey paint colors and it works great on exteriors, front doors and cabinetry. Front porch rockers and garden stools are by Grandin Road. Accent pillows are William Sonoma Home. Porch Flooring The front porch features natural stone tile. Swing Bed The porch swing bed is by The Porch Swing Company – similar here, here & here. Front Door One thing we’ll see more often in 2018 is dark interior doors, especially for the front door. This one is painted in Iron Ore- SW7069- Sherwin Williams. Flooring: 7″ Aged French Oak Marcantonio. Foyer Foyer features paneled walls and arched ceiling. Mixed metals bring a transitional feel to this classic space. Entry table and art is from Trowbridge Art Gallery via ACP Home Interiors – similar here. Paneling & Trim Paint Color Throughout the House: Valspar Swiss Coffee 7002-16 Sconces are Visual Comfort. Lighting Visual Comfort Medium Darlana Lantern is a best seller and it will continue to be popular in 2018. This lighting is a favorite of mine because it works everywhere, from foyers to kitchens! Kitchen Besides having two islands, this kitchen offers perfect symmetry and classic elements that will stand the test of time. Kitchen Island Dimension: 48″ x 114″ Dining Room Kitchen opens to an inviting dining room with bar. Ceiling is lightly whitewashed tongue and groove with white painted beams. Paint Color Paint Color: Modern Gray by Sherwin Williams. Get the Look: Bar Dining room also features a bar with herringbone backsplash tile and paneled appliances. Craftsman Beach House

Hello, my friends! I hope you had a great week and are ready to have a relaxing weekend with your loved ones.

I am really happy to be sharing another beautiful home by Sweenor Builders, Inc.. You will probably recall seeing their Coastal Shingle Home recently featured on Home Bunch. Today, I will be featuring their latest work with This Old House® and I think you will love knowing every detail!

“Every year, This Old House® collaborates with a team of industry professionals and leading home-improvement brands to build a state-of-the art “Idea House.” Sweenor Builders was honored to be asked to build an Idea House for a second time in partnership with Union Studio Architecture and Community Design. The fourth annual Idea House from the trusted home renovation brand, the 2018 home will be built in the historic seaside village of Narragansett, Rhode Island – recently named one of America’s best beach towns by the Boston Globe. Kristen Martone, Sweenor’s in-house designer and owner of Graceke Design led Interior Design on the project.”

Interior Design Ideas: Craftsman Beach House

The 2,700-square-foot cottage has classic Craftsman-style curb appeal and modern looks inside. Located less than a mile from Narragansett’s town beach, it epitomizes what buyers are looking for today: a smaller home that lives large in a tight-knit neighborhood, plenty of bespoke built-ins, luxury amenities including a home gym, dedicated media room and butler’s pantry, and an easy-care backyard designed for “staycation” living.

This classic foyer features herringbone White Oak hardwood flooring with a black walnut perimeter. Wall paint color is Glidden’s Swan White.

You really don’t need much space to have a well-designed laundry room. This laundry room was tucked into a small corner of the house where stackable washer and dryer, a hanging rod and even an utility sink with Soapstone countertop creates the ideal space to wash clothing.

Accodiring to This Old House, this 7×13-foot pre-cast plunge pool was delivered in one piece, dropped into a 4-foot hole, and then faced with stone veneer and a bluestone ledge.

Hamptons-style Shingle Home

This charming shingle house — one of the oldest houses in Mill Valley, California — was bought as a fixer upper by a growing family. Oriented with great views of nearby Mt. Tam, the house pulls in sunlight and mountain breezes. The owners tapped veteran architect, Heidi Richardson, Richardson Architects, to return the rundown property to its former glory as well as adapt the interior for today’s more casual lifestyle.

Hamptons-style Shingle Home

The house had been abused with numerous inappropriate additions and renovations over the years. Richardson Architects adjusted interior floor levels to achieve four full stories. A central staircase connects all levels, with the top two floors for bedrooms, the main level for living and entertaining and the lowest level for office and a playroom. A guest cottage is adjacent to the house.

Interiors

For the interiors, the family turned to designer Katie Martinez, who infused the house with a modern palette. Light, bright colors are complemented with darker, moodier accents. Clean, streamlined silhouettes marry with shaker-inspired furnishings and elegant light fixtures. The house is as sophisticated as it is relaxed.
