looking at u w my big ol eyes hey hey spare visletown context? visletown info for the starving minds (me)? is it the music story

YUP YES IT IS!!!!! ok im basically just copying what i said in discord: it's basically going to be roughly 45 minutes worth of a completely non-verbal like uhh animation to music. the premise is that these 2 characters (will be unnamed in-story but i mentally refer to them as kay (k)(one with long red hair) and em (m)(one with glasses and fuckass bob)) go back to their abandoned hometown which is god. i do NOt have plot details ironed out at all lmao but there are 3 acts and their titles are the only words that will appear in the series. 1st act is they return to their town and k kills m & the town to become god. 2nd act is k having ten billion crises about being immortal and shit. 3rd act is k resurrects m and the town and they Come Back Wrong as reflections of k instead of themselves. the central theme is like.. community and the lack thereof, which is reflected in both k & m's relationship, their history, the town itself, and the wordless format. lowkey theyre house horror different font ranefall which is funny because i came up with it before knowing of eskew or silt, which explains that. k was borne of intense projection so if youre wondering why she sounds so faulknerian thats why. anyway some more words to chuck at you. sun/moon motif. ominous blue fog. town landscaped in the form of a lemniscate for some fucking reason. gay murder and subsequent sacrifice. the experience of not belonging anywhere.

HI MORGAN!! Important question how do you pronounce visletown (or, I suppose, how much does the pronunciation matter, considering one of the big points of it is that it’s nonverbal?)? this question brought to you by me misreading it at first and then realizing I was adding a letter that wasn’t there so now I’ve been reading it two different ways oops

Also on that topic, reasons behind naming it visletown? 👀

hi fish!! i personally pronounce it like v-eyes-ull-town but like. it's never going to be said so i dont think theres a correct way to say it lol, do whatever you want

as for the naming - in the first draft of it, back when it was going to be a writing project, i just titled the document town. tried changing it to other things but i couldnt stop thinking of it as the town so i stuck w it. then i fucked around with adding a word before that and eventually came to wanting it to be anagram for veil (theme of lies & concealment) and vile (hill house this house is vile allusion). i couldnt find a way to make a combination of those 4 letters that sounded good so i chucked an s in there and now it works !

please tell me about your ocs!!

ok!! so my main ocs are jules and emery! in summary jules is a girl who is trying become god and emery is her devoted friend/sacrificial lamb.

backstory is they grew up together in a cult of an isolated town. when emery was young, the town tried to do a ritual for jules' apotheosis. it didn't work because emery is the town's favorite (i mean the literal town not the people in it). after that, emery moves out of the town and proceeds to move around a lot. emery latches onto jules as the only constant in their life since they move around a lot. after that, the ritual is tried again without emery and then everyone in the town save jules is killed n the town disappears. jules leaves the town, and the town basically goes into hibernation - lights r on, electricity runs, but there isnt any movement or people. the main plot of part 1 of the main story follows emery and jules coming back to wake up the town - jules to redo the ritual and emery because jules asked them to come with her. i wont spoil the rest here bc i do want to make this someday but part 2 and 3 both carry on from the ending of part 1!

emery is intensely in love with jules (not romantic nor platonic but a secret third thing) and as shes their only connection they cling to her and base their self around her. jules loves emery as well but she loves herself more, and she does leverage their devotion to her own advantage. they both feel like the other is the only one who understands them and have a kind of "i dont need anyone else i have you" attitude

bonus feature of the town! it's got enough of a prescence in the story to merit mention even if it isnt really a character. the town is god in the form of houses and streets. sometimes there's fun body horror stuff to do with the town. the streets are structured in 2 concentric circles that converge in the center of the town like an infinity symbol. its origins are unclear. emery and jules lived in the houses in the center of those 2 respective circles. the town loves them because of that.

hi sonia! k & m are abbreviations of the names i used to have for them when it was a writing project (k's last name and m's first name) so yeah. nothing special behind it i fear
