On the one hand, I'm glad my disability is sort of normalized and made easily accessible in various parts of life, but also
WEARING GLASSES IS A DISABILITY AND IT SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH
#disability#vision impairment#my eyesight is bad. awful.#i will never be able to wear contacts because my prescription is too strong#there is surgery available but the failure rate is MUCH higher than lasik and ive learned to live with it#there are so many situations where i cannot use my disability aids!#contact sports. trampoline parks. any situation with water!!! i like to act amd if its a period piece i cannot have my modern glasses!#and even with my glasses there are so many things i cannot interact with.#those giant light up menus at fast food restaurants? nope. small print books? readable#but at What Cost (being cross-eyed and horrifble headaches)#but the biggest issue is that no one cares!#vision impairment is an ingrained part of our society and im glad that i have easy access to disability aids but#most of the world had become desensitized! i say that my disability doesnt allow to partake in certain activities#and they just Do Not Get It#anyway long rant sorry#ashla speaks
