The very first time I forgot to wear one while visiting with someone indoors I got Covid. A good well fitting N95 works well. I wear one in indoor public places and at home when visitors come. I have only been sick once since the summer of 2020. It happened in 2024 when I answered the door with no mask and got Covid from an asymptomatic person who had been on a plane unmasked. H5N1 is spread just like Covid. It has been found in wastewater in many places especially in the US. We need to protect ourselves. Respirators like N95's good ventilation, and vaccines all work. The science has proven it again and again.

Another perfect example of how masking to help prevent covid keeps us *all* safer from *all* airborne illness.
by Tamara Schneider
Lingering respiratory viruses set the stage for chronic lung disease, mouse study shows
Doctors have long known that children who become seriously ill with certain respiratory viruses such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are at elevated risk of developing asthma later in life. What they haven’t known is why.
A new study by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis may have solved the mystery. The study, in mice, shows that respiratory viruses can hide out in immune cells in the lungs long after the initial symptoms of an infection have resolved, creating a persistently inflammatory environment that promotes the development of lung disease. Further, they showed that eliminating the infected cells reduces signs of chronic lung damage before they progress to a full-blown chronic respiratory illness.
The findings, published Oct. 2 in Nature Microbiology, point to a potential new approach to preventing asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other chronic lung diseases by eradicating the persistent respiratory viruses that fuel these conditions.
“Right now, children who have been hospitalized for a respiratory infection such as RSV are sent home once their symptoms resolve,” said senior author Carolina B. López, PhD, a professor of molecular microbiology and a BJC Investigator at WashU Medicine. “To reduce the risk that these children will go on to develop asthma, maybe in the future we will be able to check if all of the virus is truly gone from the lung, and eliminate all lingering virus, before we send them home.”
About 27 million people in the U.S. are living with asthma. Many factors influence a person’s likelihood of developing the chronic breathing illness, including living in a neighborhood with poor air quality, having exposure to cigarette smoke and being hospitalized for viral pneumonia or bronchitis while young. Some researchers — López included — suspected that the link between serious lung infection and subsequent asthma diagnosis was due to lingering virus in the lungs that causes ongoing damage, but a direct link between the ongoing presence of virus and chronic lung disease has not been previously shown.
López and first author Ítalo Araújo Castro, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher in her lab, developed a unique system involving a natural mouse virus known as Sendai virus, and fluorescent markers of infection. Sendai is related to human parainfluenza virus, a common respiratory virus that, like RSV, has been linked to asthma in children. Sendai behaves in mice in very much the same way that human parainfluenza virus behaves in people, making it an excellent model of the kinds of infections that could lead to chronic lung disease.
Using the fluorescent trackers, the researchers could observe signs of the virus throughout infection. After about two weeks, the mice recovered, but viral RNA and protein were still detectable several weeks later in their lungs, hidden away in immune cells.
“Finding persistent virus in immune cells was unexpected,” López said. “I think that’s why it had been missed before. Everyone had been looking for viral products in the epithelial cells that line the surface of the respiratory system, because that’s where these viruses primarily replicate. But they were in the immune cells.”
Moreover, the presence of the virus changed the behavior of the infected immune cells, causing them to become more inflammatory than the uninfected immune cells. Persistent inflammation sets the stage for chronic lung disease to arise, the researchers said. Indeed, seven weeks after infection, the mice’s lungs exhibited inflammation of air sacs and blood vessels, abnormal development of lung cells and excess immune tissue — all signs of chronic inflammatory lung damage, even though the mice appeared outwardly to have recovered. Once the infected immune cells were eliminated, the signs of damage diminished.
“We use a perfectly matched virus-host pairing to prove that a common respiratory virus can be maintained in immunocompetent hosts for way longer than the acute phase of the infection, and that this viral persistence can result in chronic lung conditions,” Castro said. “Probably the long-term health effects we see in people who are supposed to be recovered from an acute infection are actually due to persistence of virus in their lungs.”
The findings point to new ways to think about preventing chronic lung diseases, the researchers said.
“Pretty much every single child gets infected with these viruses before the age of 3, and maybe 5% get serious enough disease that they could potentially develop persistent infection,” López said. “We’re not going to be able to prevent children from getting infected in the first place. But if we understand how these viruses persist and the effects that persistence has on the lungs, we may be able to reduce the risk of serious long-term problems.”

In college I studied conservation medicine and zoonotic diseases, and this is not good.
"A new study has determined that the COVID-19 virus is widespread amongst wildlife in the United States. SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, was recently detected in six common backyard species. Additionally, antibodies indicating prior exposure to the virus were found in five species. Depending upon the species, exposure rates ranged from 40-60%."
And this research was done in my state. Great.
From animal to human and back to animal. This does not bode well for us.
#wrenfea.news#it didnt say if the animals were asymptomatic or dying of the virus#i just remember learning that transmission allows for more mutations to develop#covid#covid 19#sars cov 2#zoonotic diseases#wildlife

I thought Fauci was hospitalized with the WEST NILE virsus? "Fauci wants to bring back MASKS after contracting COVID (despite being vaccinated SIX times)"
12 Aug 2024
By Alexa Lardieri U.S. Deputy Health Editor Dailymail.Com
The number of infections is increasing as part of another summer surge - even though hospitalizations and deaths from the virus remain at historic lows.
On Monday, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease said: 'The message is that if you are in a risk category you have got to take this seriously.'
The 83-year-old told people with comorbidities and seniors 'you should be wearing a mask' in crowded places.
He also revealed he had contracted Covid about two weeks ago. It was his third Covid infection and he has been vaccinated and boosted a total of six times.
The above shows weekly Covid deaths (blue bars) and percent positivity of Covid tests (orange line)
The above shows the percent positivity of Covid tests in the past week by region in the US
According to the CDC, the weekly Covid test positivity for the week ending August 3 was nearly 18 percent, compared to 16 percent the prior week and 10 percent one month before that.
Test positivity is the share of Covid swabs taken that come back positive.
World Health Organization officials warn that if the virus continues to spread, it could lead to new mutations and severe infections that evade vaccine protection and therapeutics.
Deaths have been generally on the rise since May, but began declining the week ending July 20. They currently hover at around 500 per week, compared to more than 25,000 in the fall of 2020.
The elderly, people with compromised immune systems and those with comorbidities are more at risk of developing severe Covid, being hospitalized and have a higher risk of death from the virus.
New documents 'credibly show' Covid DID leak from Wuhan lab, say House Republicans
Dr Fauci told MedPage Today Editor-in-Chief Dr Jeremy Faust: 'You don't have to immobilize what you do and cut yourself off from society, but regardless of what the current recommendations are, when you're in a crowded closed space and you're an 85-year-old person with chronic lung disease or a 55-year-old person who is morbidly obese with diabetes and hypertension, then you should be wearing a mask.
'And you should be careful to avoid crowded places where you don't know the status of other people and you should get vaccinated and boosted on a regular basis.'
Dr Fauci's face mask guidelines have long been criticized as people claimed they did not work to prevent the spread of Covid.
The educational and social effects of face masks on children have been well documented, with one NIH study calling the impact of mask use on students' literacy and learning 'very negative.'
Another NIH study also found that social distancing caused 'depression, generalized anxiety, acute stress and intrusive thoughts.'
And in testimony to Republicans in June, Dr Fauci admitted he didn't remember reading anything to support that masking kids would prevent COVID.
When asked if masking kids was an effective way of preventing Covid transmission, he said: 'I still think that's up in the air.'
Despite the mixed guidance, experts are still concerned about the rapid spread.
Dr Ashish Jha, dean of Brown University's School of Public Health and former White House Covid response coordinator, told NBC: 'If you just talk about infections, this is probably going to end up becoming the largest summer wave we’ve had. It’s still not as big as the winter waves, but it is starting to get close.'
Dr Anthony Fauci recommended that the elderly and people with comorbidities wear face masks to protect against Covid
Dr Jha said she expects this surge to peak in the next few weeks and subside in September, just as updated vaccines to target the KP.2 strain of Covid become available.
Additionally, in a briefing last week, World Health Organization officials said 84 countries are experiencing a rise in the percentage of positive Covid tests over the last several weeks.
WHO officials said: 'Covid-19 infections are surging globally... and are unlikely to decline anytime soon. The UN health agency is also warning that more severe variants of the coronavirus may soon be on the horizon.'
And wastewater surveillance suggests the spread of the virus is two to 20 times higher than what is currently being reported.
WHO officials added that new waves of infection could spur mutations and more dangerous strains of the virus 'that could potentially evade detection systems and be unresponsive to medical intervention.
The health agency is urging countries to ramp up their vaccination efforts and promote yearly Covid vaccines for high-risk individuals.
Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, an infectious disease epidemiologist and lead of the COVID-19 response at WHO, said: 'As individuals it is important to take measures to reduce risk of infection and severe disease, including ensuring that you have had a COVID-19 vaccination dose in the last 12 months, especially, if you are in an at-risk group.
'I am concerned with such low coverage and with such large circulation, if we were to have a variant that would be more severe, then the susceptibility of the at-risk populations to develop severe disease is huge.'"

Tumbuhan, haiwan, lembu, makanan palsu.
Dan sekarang, saya rasa saya nampak Bill Gates mempromosikan hot dog dan sosis. Burger yang mustahil, ia mustahil kerana ia bukan makanan.
It's it's not just shots or vaccines in humans. It's the genetic modification of our soil, our air, our water, our plants.
Plants have a viral. Plants make and antiviral compounds that we consume in our food, but any food that is GMO will not express the appropriate mRNA according to God as meant for food.
So it's absolutely everything in our environment from glyphosate, Stephanie Senate, the toxic legacy of glyphosate to Dr. David Lewis, science for sale.
And that was the EPA whistleblower back in 15. So of course, Bobby Kennedy has been at autism one meetings at the neuroimmune disease meetings at the cancer meetings with us pretty much for the last three decades because his whole thing has been environmental, environmental, environmental so much more than mercury he realized.
And that's Sherry Tenpenny, Dr. Sherry Tenpenny 2005, what's coming through the needle can be killing you, but who's getting the needle? The plant, the animal, the cow, the fake food.
And now I think I saw Bill Gates pushing hot dogs and sausages. You're the impossible burger, it's impossible because it's not food.

What could be causing the rise?
Some scientists posit that the Covid virus itself could be contributing to the higher numbers of cancer diagnoses, especially for those who are suffering from long Covid. "The idea that some viruses can cause or accelerate cancer is hardly new," said the Post. "Scientists have recognized this possibility since the 1960s, and today, researchers estimate 15% to 20% of all cancers worldwide originate from infectious agents such as HPV, Epstein-Barr and hepatitis B."
Because "infection with SARS-CoV-2 occurs in several organs either directly or indirectly, it is expected that cancer stem cells may develop in multiple organs," said a 2023 study published in the journal Biochimie. Lung, colorectal, pancreatic and oral cancer could particularly be exacerbated.
While not officially confirmed, the virus is said to cause full-body inflammation. "Inflammation triggers many genetic changes in a genome that can create a propensity of developing cancer in certain individuals," Dr. Kashyap Patel, CEO of Carolina Blood and Cancer Care Associates, said to News Nation. "We are completely under-investigating this virus," Douglas C. Wallace, a geneticist and evolutionary biologist at the University of Pennsylvania, said to the Post. "The effects of repeatedly getting this throughout our lives is going to be much more significant than people are thinking."

CDC claims one severe patient so far. Their website though, reports no human cases. In the case of the one person, they state the person had been practically laying about with a bunch of dead and dying chickens.
youtube
In fact, the CDC wants to only allow PCR tests that detect both COVID-19 and influenza, despite that they cannot differentiate between whether you have one, the other, or both. These tests just show you as infected with "something".
Don't believe me? They tried to debunk statements that they were phasing out a COVID-19 test because it couldn't tell the difference between COVID or Influenza, but then they contradict this and state on the record that they want tests that cannot tell the difference and that's why they're getting rid of tests that only check for COVID-19.
