I always said these games felt so incomplete, like they intended for there to be much more than we actually got. I feel so much more validated.

What were your main inspo for the Kaijuimorph au, and is there any old concepts/designs that you got rid of?

hmm. This is a good one.

The main inspirations came into the form of studio ghibli’s works like Nausicaa: valley of the wind, other pokemon AUs like the @rivalkieran’s solisverse, early pivot animations, dungeon meshi and the rpg series: world of darkness!

The ancient landscape of Nausicaa, the battling and occasional gore of pivot battles, the sudden horror and worldbuilding of dungeon meshi and the whole “normal and secret world” of world of darkness create the kaijumorpha au!

As for old concepts and ideas? Well, then. *cracks knuckles*

-Originally, both dawn and Lucas were supposed to go to Hisui together and died and became ghosts that got revived alongside Ingo.

- Kieran and Carmine were supposed to have been infected by the px-virus before I hit them with the fucked-up creature beam.

-Korai was going to be a lot more villainous and actively bit penny to spread the infection.

-Calem’s part megakaiju was caused by the ultimate weapon’s energy hitting him and causing him to mutate.

(Kinda like this but mixed with megakaiju and more body horror.)

-Scarlet Koito was going to be the main villain in a sequel story to the scarlet saga.

-Brendan was burned the waist down by falling into lava during Maxie’s big score and May, in a fit of rage, broke the two orbs and destroyed Groudon and Kyogre.

👹-tell me of demons

In my travels, I've learned that the demonic means different things to different people. To some short-sighted people, dark types are demonic. To the Arcists, Giratina and the Distortion World are demonic. To some Kantonians and Johtonians, the process of shadowfication is demonic. The concept of demonic force is something that shifts with time and culture.

So, what is demonic to me? Maybe you would guess that I think Kyogre and Groudon to be demonic. After all, their clash upsets the balance of nature like nothing else. The region, even the world can be entirely reshaped simply by the aggression of these two ancients. Surely, these would be my demons. Not so. While they are known for their destructive natures, the only reason they're known for that is because of the interference of man. While their conflicts are disastrous, such disaster only naturally occurs when the balance is offset. Like a wildfire over an overgrown field, the destruction they cause is a necessity to keep nature in balance, and life will always sprout anew from the ashes and rubble.

Mankind, to an extent, is demonic. Or perhaps I should say, they have the potential to be. I have been trying to get. Better. About seeing humanity as an unwelcome force in this world. It is rather unfair to those who try to keep the balance as best they can. However, it would be simply ignorant to say that the greatest threats of this world haven't been humanity itself. No matter what legendaries they happen to weaponize in the process, it is never the legendaries that are the threat. It is the people who misuse them, who abuse them, who wrench them from their realms into ours. Hubris is the demon that lurks within all of humanity.

But perhaps you were looking for something more tangible. More. Concrete. A creature rather than a concept.

If we are to believe that everything on this earth is part of a great balance, then what would be more demonic to that balance than a creature from beyond that holds no intentions of sharing the earth with its native people? Deoxys is disruption given form. To that end, so are the Ultra Beasts of Alola. Their mere existence in this realm disrupts the balance, and the beings of this world instinctually reject them for it. As they should. Like the body fighting an illness, the Guardian strikes the Virus from its skies. The Alolan Tapus seem to have their affairs well in hand, but rest assured, if they were to fail, the Guardian would swiftly restore the balance there as well.

If anyone were to be so foolish as to allow their hubris to intertwine with the invasive, well. No legendary or god they could ever plead to would save them.

[Pelipper mail! Or rather... "appears out of nowhere" mail! It's a familiar black and purple rifle-like weapon, which would be needed soon in order to defeat a virus in Groudon's form. It clacks to the floor as there's also a note marked by a red heart attached:] "Hi, Dark Pit! It sounds like god-hunting is going to be a new hobby for you? You'll need this back if there's more fights to come."

…Where did you find this?? I thought I left it back at the temple ruins when I fought Pit…

Anyway, rare thing coming from me, but I guess I should say thank you. It feels right, having been reunited back with my old weapon again…

It's always the same dreams. The crashing of waves, the rolling of thunder. Fire raining down from the skies. Two massive entities clash, each trying to dominate the other. Meteors fall. A virus assimilates everything it touches. The world ends and I'm powerless to stop it.

I've never lost anyone before, but I dream about it often. And even if I've never lost someone I know, I've lost countless I don't. Every death that happens happens because I wasn't there. Because I couldn't prevent it. Everyone who died during the Groudon and Kyogre incident died because I couldn't prevent it. Because I couldn't protect the orbs. Its all my fault. Its all my fault.

This monster goes by many names. Meta Groudon, fake Groudon, false Groudon, virus Groudon and corrupted Groudon.

Virus Groudon was one of the coolest/scariest things the movies gave us. It was already bad having a kaiju-sized Groudon that could drain the life out of the land just by existing. And then it starts absorbing everyone with its tendrils.

We even get to see them struggling futilely to escape:
