Tutorial: Renumbering Shoes/Necklaces Meshes to avoid conflicts and explosions
First of all, a huge thanks to people at MTS and to @virtual-hugs who taught me how to do it at the Creators Cave!
Also sorry for taking so long to write this! It's because I kinda struggle to write in english 😬
What will you need:
S3PE
Mesh Toolkit
Your shoe/necklace/accessory package ready, so you won't need to go back to TSRW to tweak something. This should be the last step on your CC creation workflow!
First, why does this happen?
Each CAS part has a vertices ID range, and when two parts with morphs have vertices containing the same ID, conflict happens and this is what make some meshes to explode. And this tends to happen when we put high poly shoes with morphed high poly necklaces because the shoes verts ID range is too low. Shoes verts ID starts at 30000, and accessories starts at 31500. In the pícture below there's the information provided by the Hint button at Mesh Toolkit with all the verts IDs, but it erroneusly says that accessories start a 0.
With all that said, we can try to renumber these parts verts to a different IDs to try to bypass that.
But let's go to the tutorial!
Again, your shoe/necklace package should be ready to do this, so you won't need to go back to your project in TSRW!
For this tutorial, I'll be using Arltos 109, converted by @rollo-rolls. You can do this tutorial with any CC high poly shoes/necklace, just please respect the creators TOU and do not upload it.
Note how there are tiny gaps showing when the shoes are worn with necklace! In this picture they quite imperceptible, but with some shoes/necklaces more distracting distortions might occur.
👠Step 1:
Open Mesh Toolkit, click on Package Tools tab, and in the Name Those Files tab open your package. Click on Add names, and then type a unique name for the CC part you're working on and save it. Here's what I named mine:
👠Step 2:
Open your package on S3PE, and select the LOD1 (or the LOD0, if you're working with some accessory that might have it) GEOM plus the four BGEOs (they're the morphs) and export them to a folder (just click on it with the right button, and select Export > To file...)
(see? this is why we added the names ^^)
👠Step 3:
Back in Mesh Toolkit, go to the GEOM Tools tab, then to [Re]Number Meshes tab. There, open your base GEOM mesh and BGEOs morphs accordingly.
In the "Number to start with" box, type the number which you want to start the verts ID. I'm usually going with 57000 for shoes, and with around 40000 for necklaces (so they won't conflict with old shoes that aren't renumbered).
Click on Renumber and Save. When asked, select the according number for the LOD you're working with (in this case is 1, but again, if you're working with LOD0, then select 0), and click in Continue.
Then the program will prompt you to save the renumbered mesh and morphs. It's good to create a new sub-folder for them to avoid any confusion.
These are the files we get. LOD1 is my base mesh, and the others are the morphs.
👠Step 4:
Go back to your package on S3PE. Right click on the GEOM mesh you exported before, then click on Replace, and select your new base mesh. Save and close your package.
👠Step 5:
Go back to Mesh Toolkit. Go to the Package Tools tab, and then to the Add Morphs to Clothing/Hair tab, and open your package.
Tick "Use GEOM morph meshes", untick "Change morph blend TGI".
Then tick the morph you will add to the package, and then in the according box (in my case,LOD1 box, but again, if you're working with a LOD0, put it in the LOD0 box) open your new morph.
Then click on "Add morph to package". A box confirming the action will pop-up.
Repeat this step with the other morphs, reminding always to tick the according morph or otherwise you might make some mistake (as adding a fit morph in the place of the fat one).
After you finished, save your package (either the current one, or save as new package).
👠Step 6:
Now test it in game! If everything was done right, you should see no distortion in the shoes and necklaces. Also check if the morphs are working as intended, because sometimes we can make mistakes!
Remember that you'll won't be able to have both the old and the new altered package since they're still the same, we just replaced the meshes and morphs.

Château de Versailles
L’Orangerie est un bâtiment situé au cœur du parc du Château de Versailles, en contrebas du château. Construite entre 1684 et 1686 par Jules Hardouin-Mansart, elle est considérée comme l’un des chefs-d’œuvre de l’architecte.
La restauration Depuis 2020, le Château de Versailles a entrepris un important programme de restauration de l’Orangerie, notamment des grilles et des décors sculptés. Pour répondre à ces travaux, une partie de la restauration a été délocalisée à Mantes-la-Jolie, où les visiteurs peuvent découvrir le chantier-exposition, baptisé “Le réveil de la pierre”. Ce lieu propose une exposition interactive et pédagogique, avec des activités de recherche d’indices, des jeux de plateau et des contes, ainsi qu’une expérience de réalité virtuelle pour découvrir l’histoire de l’Orangerie et de sa restauration.
Le parterre Le parterre de l’Orangerie est un jardin à la française, caractérisé par ses 1200 caisses contenant des orangers, citronniers, grenadiers et lauriers-roses, ponctué de mai à octobre. Il offre une vue spectaculaire sur le château et le parc, notamment depuis les terrasses du château.
Les sculptures L’Orangerie abrite quatre sculptures monumentales, inspirées des Métamorphoses d’Ovide, représentant les amours des dieux : Aurore et Céphale, Vertumne et Pomone, Flore et Zéphyr, ainsi que Vénus et Adonis. Ces sculptures, créées par Louis Le Conte et Pierre Legros vers 1687, pesant environ 25 tonnes chacune, ont été restaurées dans un atelier aux dimensions adaptées à Mantes-la-Jolie.
Accès et horaires L’Orangerie est accessible tous les mardis de 9h à 12h30 et de 13h30 à 17h30, ainsi que lors d’ouvertures exceptionnelles.
The Orangery is a building located in the heart of the park of the Palace of Versailles, below the palace. Built between 1684 and 1686 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, it is considered one of the architect's masterpieces.
Restoration Since 2020, the Palace of Versailles has undertaken a major restoration program for the Orangery, including the grilles and sculpted decorations. To accommodate this work, part of the restoration has been relocated to Mantes-la-Jolie, where visitors can discover the exhibition site, called "The Awakening of Stone". This place offers an interactive and educational exhibition, with clue-searching activities, board games and stories, as well as a virtual reality experience to discover the history of the Orangery and its restoration.
The Parterre The parterre of the Orangerie is a French garden, characterized by its 1200 boxes containing orange trees, lemon trees, pomegranates and oleanders, punctuated from May to October. It offers a spectacular view of the castle and the park, especially from the terraces of the castle.
The sculptures The Orangerie houses four monumental sculptures, inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses, representing the loves of the gods: Aurora and Cephalus, Vertumnus and Pomona, Flora and Zephyr, as well as Venus and Adonis. These sculptures, created by Louis Le Conte and Pierre Legros around 1687, weighing approximately 25 tons each, were restored in a workshop with adapted dimensions in Mantes-la-Jolie.
Access and opening times The Orangerie is accessible every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., as well as during exceptional opening times.

@hugelunatic Hi, it's me, the person who scraped GOS! Sorry I couldn't reblog the original post so, here is my response.
First of all, I wanted to say. Thank you for everything you do for our community. You've really been a major part of The TS2 community from the beginning!
Second, you'll stop me from archiving when you pry the archiving software out of my cold, dead hands.
Do you know about Plumb Bob Keep? That's a real question because as the TS2 modding community gets ever smaller and becomes more and more insular it gets harder to know who is on what moderation team and who co-runs what. However, if you do know Plumb Bob keep you'd know that recently the owner died. Which meant that suddenly the entire community had to scramble.
Fortunately, they were able to get in contact with the family (in their time of mourning) to ask "Hey, sorry about the dead girl, can I has password please? I need my fix of virtual doll clothes"
I don't blame them for this. They'd obviously put a lot of time into this and the reason I know that is because I got approached to see what I could do when the site was offline and they were still trying to figure out what to do. Unfortunately, when a site's only existing documentation exists in the WayBackMachine that makes it basically impossible to scrape.
And this isn't even the first time this happened, when Yahoo Groups shutdown, ArchiveTeam had trouble talking to MOST older simmers because they were so fucking touchy about their content. Literally our community has a reputation for being obnoxious about TOUs and 'rights' to the point where they'd basically given up trying to archive anything that had to do with The Sims.
So if you thought that this was because I was concerned that you were running into the ground. Rest assured, I'm doing this in case you get in a fatal car accident so we don't have to call your mourning loved ones to ask the very cringe question: "Do you know about the forum from 2008 that your spouse/son/father/sister/daughter/mother ran? Can we have access to it please. I have recolors that I'd DESPERATELY love to get back."
As far as bandwidth goes, I do my best to make sure that I scrape with as little intrusion as possible and your load is lighter since you don't host any of the actual CC or even 75% of your own images.
Now, we could talk about what this really is: a pissing contest. But don't worry. I have no real interest in encroaching on your territory of running an alternative style sims 2 forum from 2008. I love GOS, or I wouldn't have made sure that it didn't fucking disappear into the ether.
But believe me, no one is choosing to look through a list of 10,000 zip files without images or descriptions as a replacement for a fully functional forum with like... images of the items. My archive of GOS is pretty much only for creators and people who know EXACTLY what they're looking for.
And that goes similarly for everyone worried about their precious TOUs in the comments of the original post. No one, and I mean no one, prefers to dig through an entire fucking ass ton of files labeled shit like "[POOKLET] SKYSIMS MESH 007 - UNNATURAL COLORS"
In fact, I've had several creators thank me because the scrape unearthed some shit they'd thought they'd lost. And if you don't like it, or me, get in line. I assure you there is metric fuck ton of people from patreon who hate me far more.
However, I would like to say that whenever you / or any other creator who is mad about this / literally any simmer, is searching for a dependency because someone got in some obscure internet drama and deleted all their cc or Mediafire got shut down by the RIAA or whatever the fuck.
You, for as "annoyed" as you are, will remember the big ass zip file and CTRL + F your ass to what you're looking for. And I'm going to say it now, for when that moment comes:

Descrição
A criação das Feitiçarias da Luz e das Trevas pela Escola de Magia de Salem é um feito grandioso alcançado por seus sábios, dando origem a novos clãs de magos e elevando os limites da Magia (Linguagem de Programação de Alto Nível). O Clã da Luz, conhecido pelo nome Iasi, foi fundado com o nascimento de Susamon, o Familiar da Luz.
A magia que este Digimon representa atua principalmente na restauração de dados e correção de erros, ou seja, ela se foca em curar feridas e doenças, mas também pode manipular as informações de luz que permeiam o ambiente. Todos em Salem respeitam Susamon por ser um habilidoso curandeiro que é sempre muito atencioso e gentil com quem precisa de seu auxílio, dedicado a garantir que os enfermos estejam completamente recuperados.
Ele pode ser encontrado em meio às belas flores azuis mágicas do Bosque Hallerbos em Salem, rodeado de magos com quem está conectado, já que é capaz de se ligar a vários deles, em vez de apenas um como acontece com os outros Familiares. Isso se dá também porque assim ele pode ter mais tempo de se dedicar aos estudos, pois é bastante curioso e, principalmente, responsável por buscar formas de expandir e desenvolver mais a Feitiçaria da Luz, inclusive buscando soluções e diretrizes vistas nas outras formas de Magia.
Muitas vezes essa experimentação sai errado pois ele é um pouco desatento, muito pelo anseio de criar algo novo, e acaba causando algumas situações desastrosas, tal como a vez que fez o diretor da Escola de Salem ficar invisível por uma semana ou criar uma esfera de luz tão intensa que todos que a viram ficaram cegos por algum tempo, inclusive ele. Por mais que seja um pouco atrapalhado, Susamon é obstinado e sabe que tanto ele quanto a Feitiçaria da Luz têm um enorme potencial, então não serão essas adversidades que o impedirão de triunfar e mudar, para melhor, o mundo da Magia.
Técnicas
Ravdí Kératos (Bastão de Chifre) Usa seu cajado para golpear o oponente. Fotovoltaïkí Désmi (Raio Fotovoltaico) Dispara um raio de luz no adversário, causando queimaduras pela alta concentração de energia. Antiikó (Antiviral) Conjura uma magia que anula vários tipos de status negativos do corpo dele ou de um companheiro. I Lámpsi tou Iasi (O Resplendor de Iasi) Cria um grande círculo mágico sob seus pés que é capaz de curar instantaneamente qualquer ferida e status negativo. Quanto mais tempo ficar na área de ação da magia, mais feridas vão sendo curadas, mas apenas aqueles que tem permissão de Susamon conseguem ficar neste espaço, pois os inimigos são repelidos assim que chegam perto.
Informações Adicionais
Familiares Um grupo recém-descoberto, original de Witchelny, que também recebeu novos membros em Salem, região do Mundo Digital: Rebuilt onde a magia também floresceu. Os membros do grupo são Digimons que tem grande afinidade com os elementos e servem de guias para jovens Magos dominarem a Magia Elemental com mais facilidade, sendo que em troca os próprios Familiares crescem em inteligência e poder. Tal relação de companheirismo faz com que a dupla (ou grupo, dependendo de quantos Familiares os Magos têm ao seu lado) desenvolva um laço fortíssimo, ligado pela magia, mas, mais do que isso, pelo amor.

Hey
Life has been a roller coaster of stress and ennui. I see your messages but I have not been mentally invested in Sims or Tumblr enough to respond, sorry. Doing Sims stuff again sounds kind of fun, but it's also a deep rabbit hole. I'm currently unemployed but I don't want it to stay that way for too much longer. I also have little care for 2023 culture and the social media lifestyle that comes with it. I love sharing with the Sims 2 community, but I miss the old GOS and Livejournal days. In some ways I've moved on, in some ways I haven't. The world sure has moved on, though.
I miss participating in the Sims community; I've met some wonderful people, but I think this post amounts to simply dropping in to say a loaded "hello".

Any TOU I have ever posted can be considered voided. Do what you want. Please just play and have fun and do not let yourself be policed by anonymous internet users from a myriad of cultural backgrounds. They do not know you; you do not know them. It's a dumpster fire out there so please take nothing but comfort in your virtual world.

My top 4 resources for Ancient texts/ information:
Theoi- free access! this site has an encyclopedia of deities, monsters, people, all with sources! It also has a library section with many ancient texts both Roman and Greek
Perseus Tufts-free access! This is a library of Texts, in both the original language and English! Also by clicking on individual words you can get the dictionary definition! Very helpful for those fun dead languages 😂
Loeb Classical Library- tonnes of ancient texts- however, needs a login or a university access to read more than like 1 page!
Lexilogos- (free access) (in French and English) contains dictionaries for an absolute tonne of languages including Latin and Ancient Greek! Also has a keyboard so you can type words in the language of your choice and then copy it into whatever you need!

GTA Conversions and TOU.
This is my last time posting about this, I’ve been informed that yet another shop is converting my creations and selling them. Everything on my page is EARLY ACCESS which becomes FREE... and against conversions to GTA. I also create for GTA myself and will be putting out my creations for free on there. Please stop converting my work especially without permission so it can benefit your pockets. It’s overly annoying that my meshes are being paid for when I make it and put all my hard work into making what I make.
The audacity-of you converters make it hard for me to be respectful. To sit and argue with me about how my creations are not owned by me because they are of real life products is highly disrespectful. My 3D models are 100% made by me and so are the base colors which I then turn into a realistic texture... most of my work are heavily inspired by real life products, yes. But the 3D models are NOT owned by the company... you are comparing TWO different things. Real Life VS. Virtual Products. Keep the two far apart from each other.
