Your continous contribution to the Viravos fandom are seen and greatly appreciated. In other words: Thank you a lot.
Also regarding the change of dynamic after Aaravos is free: I don't think Aaravos has forgotten about betrayal being the reason he got imprisoned in the first place. Yet I still think he is at least a bit lonely after all these years in solitary confinement. So having VIren, who now so utterly depends on him for staying alive and who is willing to do anything to get Aaravos to not manipulate and use his daugbter (also Viren has gotten a soft spot for Terry), is.. convenient.
And even though Aaravos knows that Viren wouldn't be stupid enough to betray the one person who can give him some semblence (illusion) of power Aaravos needs reassurance.
With all of this causing Aaravos to act more than a bit controlling and possessive, Viren is having mixed feelings about this development. Because a part of him too is anticipating betrayal. And even though his ego (at least what is left of it) is not entirely on board with being treated like this and a part of him is very aware that this could end badly for him, he finds himself feeling glad that at least Aaravos doesn't seem to want to throw him and Claudia (and, yes, by association also Terry) away and let him die.
You're welcome! It's a little bit funny how most of the fan art posting in the Viravos tag is done by me haha uh oh.
That sounds cool! Aaravos having some good in him vs him being controlling and manipulative is delish. I'd love to read that fanfic.
I think the show has a lot of potential to explore Aaravos' more human (elven?) side through his interactions with Team Claudia (formerly known as Team Viren) but I'm content with whatever the creators decide to give us.

I love your Winter fic. It made me emotional in the best way. Do you have any others? 😍
-Desperately digs through my Tumblr to find my winter fic-
AH YES. You mean THIS ONE? Hopefully?
Unfortunately, I haven’t written much else for this particular fandom! I’ve had a bit of a hard time in regards to my writing, but I have written a few short things from time to time! I’m really hoping to get some more stuff typed up and put out there, so even though I’m slower than death itself-- I hope that you stay tuned and keep an eye out for it~!!
Let’s see...
I’ve got some Viravos smut. Not my best work, but it got the job done if you know what I mean
I’ve got some softer material involving the precious Moonshadow husbands. Runaan and Ethari just...won my heart.
I also did a little drabble piece for a Secret Santa involving Rayla, Ezran, Callum, & Soren, pre S3. So if you’d like to give that a read, it can be found right here~!
And lastly, I bounced off @raayllum’s post right here, adding some Viren thoughts on what they wrote for Ezran~!
#hopefully that satisfies your needs anon!!#happy reading!#and thanks so much for seeking me out!#I'm super happy you enjoyed the fic :DDD#viravos#ruthari#Anonymous

this is an interesting topic yes! like the most creative types I'm just really into seeing what other people are up to. I'm glad you liked that essay I talked about! I still haven't finished it myself.
But I think you've written a lot of fic about TDP's female characters, right? you've done a plenty for the girl characters in this fandom! Actually I just read this Lissa fic you made and loved it!
While I occasionally enjoy being critical of my interests that doesn't mean I feel guilty or bad about having those interests! And neither should anyone. I think my creations have a lot of value on their own. Yes, even my Viravos posting lol. I could write a full-on feminist essay collection about how and why these types of male characters speak to queer audiences. There is a lot of depth to slash and BL, too. I'm currently reading Lucy Neville's Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys and I follow such BL scholars like James Welker and Thomas Baudinette. My point is that I've no intention to put down dudeslash when I talk about femslash. That would be hypocritical of me given what I usually post.
I love posting Viravos so that's what I do and because my art is better when it comes from a genuine place of love. my current favorite femslash ship is the absolute classic that is Utena x Anthy from RGU . my RGU art gets MUCH more engagement too but I still prefer drawing Viravos.
There is so much depth to all of this! I don't think anyone should feel guilty about their interests in fandom. I love fandom because I want to see what weird and highly specific thing people go absolutely crazy for!
I don't even necessarily agree with the "female characters get ignored" argument because it only takes into account the quantity of fanfic from the most popular fandoms. It's an inherent problem of the system where female characters have only recently started to get more main roles (outside anime and romance?). Also as you said this conversation is very binary and ignores trans people and all genderfuckery that's inherent to fandom over all. It would be much more productive to share f/f work than dwell on the lack of it. That's why I made a list of some of my fave lesbian books. It's a complicated discussion and from my perspective my f/f and f/m art is much more popular than anything with m/m. My Viravos art is only relatively popular on Tumblr and it's crickets everywhere else lmao!
"Fandom ignores female characters while inventing elaborate backstories for male characters with no speaking lines."
is a common fandom copypasta but also
these people clearly haven't heard of Lissa The Dragon Prince and the 5 people on Tumblr who have formed a dedicated fandom around her.
#TDP's female characters are very much beloved.#A popular fan artist Yuki even organised a Claudia Week just a couple of months ago on Twitter.#femslash#sarasade text#shipping
