the thing i really do like about lena from ducktales is

she's a teen character who's been through a Lot. and still is a Lot

and her friends? they like her like that

she's still someone who'll hide how she's having terrifying nightmares of her evil aunt taking control of her, up to the point she accidentally drags her friends into a dreamverse and almost succumbs to said evil aunt because she's just so TIRED of trying to NOT be like her

she's a big sister now, adopted by violet and the two best dads, and she's super supportive- but her way of helping violet is by teaching her to insult and put down her competition- their Friend- which gets violet into some troubles later on

she's the kind of friend who stops an attack at huey by stopping TIME, pulling them both in his mind- and then opening the door in his mind he told her Not To, unleashing a feral furious side of him- encouraging him to do that in REAL life, cause a mess! Be a bit of a monster! Go wreck someone for once!!!

she's the bestie who sees webby's newly discovered clone sisters cutting a string between her picture and webby's, and blasts said clone twin with a magic attack

now she's also someone who dragged webby's granny out of danger (while alone with no witnesses) even though said granny didn't approve of her, basically said she thought lena had no future, and had been getting in the way of lena's plans for freedom and escape from her own evil aunt

she's the friend who's been through it looking at huey's worst side, the part of him he's scared and ashamed of, telling him dude that is COOL- and she's also spending time and magic letting him run through as many redos as he wants, the one who put out a hand in the nick of time to save him the first place

she's coming to get webby after their first real fight, physically straining to keep a spell up long enough to reach her, and she's got friendship bracelets for webby's formally evil clone sisters too, catching them in her magic and safely carrying them along with her own little sister

like, she does learn to trust in friendship. she learns she wants to try being a better friend too

but she doesn't have to turn into someone ELSE to do it!

Now to post a set of my drawings that I did and drew in the course of a year related to Ducktales in space. Favorite Ducktales characters from Ducktales 2017 in their spacesuits on the moon, i.e. on journeys where there is no end and where it is infinite, of course I mean space. Although I may draw characters in actual spacesuits, this is how I imagine them to be in such spacesuits with bubble helmets that are resistant to many things, and can be used for traveling underwater, in volcanic areas and protection from various pandemics. These suits would also be used in other versions of the Duckverse, as well as in other cartoons, comics, and video games. There may be special drawings where the suit would be shown from head to toe in the entire drawing. Not to be outdone, these drawings feature these characters Donald and Daisy Duck, Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, Gandra Dee, Scrooge McDuck, Gyro Gearloose, Della Duck, Launchpad McQuack, Drake Mallard, Bentina Beakley, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Phooey Duck, Kabooie Duck (Donald's fifth lost nephew who wears the color brown), Gosalyn Mallard, Webby Vanderquack, Lena De Spell (Sabrewing), Violet Sabrewing, May and June Duck, April, May and June Duck (Daisy's nieces), Fethry Duck , Gladstone Gander and Boyd Gearloose. Maybe there will be some more characters, but maybe another time. I hope you like these drawings and these spacesuit concepts and space travel like this. The next destination is Mars.

Okay ummm girls concepts for my Nwrld Au

They opened some sort of agency that works with magical stuff like cursed objects, unholy beasts, angry vengeful ghosts etc etc. Their friendship bracelets are always with them even tho the girls usually take solo missions. It's like their personal brand.

Webby was the one who devoted herself to this job. Yeah I drew her grumpy but trust me she ADORES her work. She's also a sharpshooter and has let's say a magical gun. Her missions are mostly spyonage-connected (being a spy is a family thing ig) and require not only guile and stealth but also a bit violence. Oh and I gave her hairclips one for each of her dearest friends and one for herself (and also the yellow one cuz the color rhythms with her design well)

Lena... ugh I'm not sure about her design. There are lots of elements and I can't figure out how to put them all together. I want her to look like her aunt but you know less evil. I like to imagine ger embracing her relativeness to Magica but still choosing her own path. She likes to take the hardest missions just to try new spells on someone. She also works as a fortune teller and sometimes helps people who were cursed

Violet Violet Violet... HOW CAN YOU BE A HUMMINGBIRD??? I redesigned her to look more like the actual bird (yup it's not animalion-friendly). She was the one who came up with the idea of agency. Vi also does a big part of the paperwork for them all, aka being their agent, their manager, their director etc etc. She just loves digging in papers

Let’s talk about Huey.

He’s the responsible triplet. He tries to keep his brothers in order. That’s the weight that comes with being the oldest brother.

But let’s face it. Even he needs someone to look up to. Not necessarily as a parent or guardian, like he would Donald, Della, or Scrooge, but as more of an older sibling.

Which brings me to the main point of this post: Today, I will be discussing three characters that have acted like an older sibling towards Huey at one point or another in the show (and in the case of one, has signs pointing to that happening more consistently post-canon).

Let’s start with Lena.

In the first two seasons, we didn’t really see Huey and Lena interact one-on-one much. Then we get to The Split Sword of Swanstantine! (which we saw yesterday for Movie Night, and inspired me to make this post at all), and these two paired off together to find the blade of the Sword of Swanstantine.

I cannot say enough good things about who the writers chose for each pair in the episode (them, Dewey and Webby, and Louie and Violet), and just how well they all played off each other.

Back to Huey and Lena, though. Their main adversary in this episode is Steelbeak, who resolves to take the blade with brute force, which Lena wants to match him with, but Huey would rather take a logical approach to it. So they enter Huey’s mindscape, and after repeated attempts to outsmart Steelbeak fail, Lena discovers a mysterious door to…The Duke of Making a Mess.

It’s this wild, feral creature that lives inside Huey’s mind, and Lena sees it as a way for Huey to get an edge on Steelbeak. But Huey doesn’t want to use it, as he’s uncomfortable with that side of him. But Lena gives him some advice as the former shadow of Magica De Spell: that he can’t ignore parts of himself he doesn’t like. He’s gotta own them.

So, after embracing both the madness of the Duke and his usual, logical self to thoroughly hand Steelbeak’s ass to him to get the blade, Lena called it the most beautiful butt-kicking she had ever seen.

Just look at how proud she is of him! She really didn’t think much of anyone besides Webby in Season 1, but now, she’s not only owning her past trauma, she’s using it to help Huey with his own demons (well, demon).

Sure, she took pictures of his various disguise fails versus Steelbeak, but that doesn’t change or diminish how much she helped him out in the episode. With all of that encompassed, Lena definitely gives off big sister vibes towards Huey in this episode (and I definitely feel like moments like the Duke one between the two of them would carry on down the road). Also, they have the connection of both being oldest siblings in general.

Next up: Fenton.

Of the three dynamics I’m covering here, Huey and Fenton’s gets the most coverage over the course of the series. After their first encounter in Who is Gizmoduck?!, Huey became enthralled with Gizmoduck after he saved his life, then disillusioned by him after he essentially sold out and became WaddleDuck, but in the end, it was Huey who realized that the perfect core processor for the suit was Fenton’s own mind, because Fenton is Gizmoduck.

In The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee!, Huey (along with Webby) helped Fenton with his date with Gandra at the lab (“It’s a Date!” intensifies). Even though this episode more establishes the beginning of the relationship between Fenton and Gandra, Huey’s support for his friend throughout is rather admirable.

In Astro B.O.Y.D.!, even though they didn’t really share a main storyline here, Fenton was willing to help Huey out regarding Boyd, and he was also the one that suggested that Boyd be used to fight crime in Tokyolk. This really shows that Fenton and Huey’s dynamic goes both ways in regard to one having a problem, and the other finding a way to help them out.

In The Trickening!, even though Fenton himself does not appear in the episode, Huey dressed up as Gizmoduck for Halloween, and he really went the extra mile with his costume. He even imitated Fenton’s Gizmoduck voice really well (“Halt, citizen!”).

In Beaks in the Shell!, after finding out that Fenton and Gandra are indeed together, Huey helps the two keep their relationship a secret, even going so far as having Louie dress up as him so as to not crack under the pressure of M’ma Cabrera’s interrogation. And, of course, Huey, along with M’ma and Gyro, help Fenton and Gandra take down Mark Beaks in the Gizmocloud. Even though Fenton kept their relationship secret from even Huey for so long, the fact that Huey was still willing to help cover it up just a little longer shows just how much trust the two have in each other.

Huey and Fenton are really two peas in a pod. With Fenton as an only child, and Huey as the oldest triplet, the brotherly dynamic is perfect for the two of them. It makes sense to me that as life goes on for the both of them, they’ll still show up for each other, no matter what.

And finally, Gandra.

This is a tougher one to go strictly by canon on, because Huey didn’t share any scenes with just Gandra in the show.

In The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee!, Gandra was probably confused by the whole romantic setup in the lab, and thought that Huey and Webby were mostly just in the way in regards to her getting close enough to Fenton to swipe the Gizmotech for Beaks (even though the partnership was temporary). Nothing direct between the two of them in this episode, so hard to say here.

Regarding their dynamic in Beaks in the Shell!, besides the above GIF where Gandra put a weighted blanket on Huey because he was freaking out, you can also piggyback the whole “keeping-the-relationship-a-secret” thing with Fenton onto Gandra, too, since it’s also her relationship. Plus the “taking-down-Beaks” thing.

They also had a couple brief interactions in The Last Adventure!, but beyond that, it’s up to interpretation. I think that with Gandra free from F.O.W.L., whether she sticks to her own projects, works with Team Science in some way, or both (again, up to interpretation), with Fenton’s existing friendship with Huey, it’s completely reasonable to suggest that Gandra ends up forging a friendship with him, too. And Huey would definitely like finally getting to work with her.

For as much as I love fanon’s takes on Fenton and Gandra’s relationship, in the past, Gandra didn’t usually get much else in the way of stories where she connects with other characters. Huey is absolutely a missed opportunity on that front; they’d definitely have a cool dynamic. Huey just has a way of worming into people’s hearts, and I think after some time, Gandra realizes how much she genuinely cares about him. This is not meant to be a buildup to shamelessly plugging my Gandra and Huey story, Bridging the Gap, but then again, it kinda is. If you want to read it, click here.

So there you have it. Huey’s a great big brother, but if you really, really think about it, he’s also a great little brother.

Donald :: would also go all out helping Webby he loves his nephews and i’m sure on their birthday in the boathouse he would make them breakfast so he’d do the same now

Scrooge :: i feel like he would smother them and help w the party maybe even pay for all of it

I'm rewatching the Ducktales show and wow, are they not subtle at all about Webby and Lena's massive crush on each other.

Like, you can pinpoint the second Lena falls in love even.

I know, shipping glasses and all that. And in the text of the show they're best friends, but Webby is also best friends with Dewey and Violet and her vibes with them is completely different than with Lena.

They cute is all I'm saying.

ive realized that i never posted a Super Sorceress™ redesign despite how much ive said i disliked it + the episode. so here's my redesign along with my notes for it :)

the first redesign (top left) i just to make the design more appealing for myself. I still don't really think it fits lena as a character, but i do find it more appealing (mainly just because i added more values to it)

the second redesign is way more self-indulgent and based on a older idea i had, where instead of going to magica, Violet and Webby teach Lena how to fight without using magic to defend against Phantom Blot. I always liked the idea that the Diamond Dagger is used for this as a symbol of her growth- an object of betrayal into a sign of her and her friend's powers together

Hello Alex.

I have seen this brought up in a couple of FanFictions and may even take a stab at it myself one day. Far we know, Lena was in Duckberg for a couple of months before The Beagle Boys Birthday Massacre and Violet there her entire life. Have you ever wondered what their lives were like prior to meeting Webby?

This is a good one.

So, Lena.

Her life sucked. There's no other way to say it.

I'm pretty sure she was that appearance since she was created. It would be harder for Magica to use a baby as a goon.

Lena needed to get from Italy to Duckburg, which means she definitely did some not so legal things. From sneaking onto trains and ships, to stealing to eat, and everything in between.

Once in Duckburg, the plan was to get close to McDuck. Neither Magica nor Lena had any idea of how pull that of.

Until they saw it.

When they saw the kids, they knew that was their chance.

If Webby would have accepted Huey's spot, Lena would have go for him instead.

But Webby declined the spot, and we all know how that turned out.

Now, Violet.

Violet is a loved daughter who always had the trust and support of her fathers. There was only one problem.

She was always alone.

That's not even a headcanon. The first time we saw her, she was reading alone in the library. And when she told her time during the Shadow War, she was reading alone at the beach.

She didn't even participate in the JW activities.

Violet is an awesome person, but her calm demeanor and her need for books was mistaken for indifference by other kids.

That's how things were. Until she met Webby, and we all know how that turned out.

We all agree that meeting Huey, Dewey and Louie was the best thing that ever happened to Webby.

Well, meeting Webby was the best thing that ever happened to Lena and Violet.

I ship them because both have a strong sense of adventure and love exploring new places and situations. Both are fiercely loyal to their friends and family, and they both have charming and endearing personalities. Webby's enthusiasm and energy mesh well with King's playful and mischievous nature. They are both resourceful and clever, able to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to problems.

My sister and I were talking about it, and we pieced together that both Webby and King share the experience of not knowing their true origins. This common ground would allow them to bond over their journeys of self-discovery and provide each other with understanding and support. Their relationship would encourage emotional growth for both of them. Webby could help King embrace his true potential and heritage, while King could help Webby learn to embrace her unique qualities and identity.

I was thinking they could meet after the events of their shows because Lena's interest in witchcraft would lead her to the Boiling Isles and its certain residents. Of course, Webby and Violet would be with her.

I personally like to think at that point in time, whenever the girls had sleepovers, Lena ALWAYS placed her sleeping bag in between Webby and Violet, so whenever she did wake up from a nightmare, she found comfort in the fact that her best friend and her sister were right beside her and she wasn’t alone like when she was living in the amphitheater.

Birthday party for Donald, Daisy and Della Duck! - Happy Birthday Donald, Daisy and Della Duck - Ducktales 2017 - Duckverse June - Week 1 - My Version - Gift for my friends

I drew on June 7th. After a long time, I decided to draw again related to Ducktales 2017, even though I'm not a fan of that series, but as they say everyone deserves a second chance. Is not it? So I decided to draw related to the great jubilee that is being celebrated these days and of course the favorite modern series by many, so I decided to draw Donald Duck, Della Duck and Daisy Duck with their family in Ducktales 2017 format, of course in my style. Because I'm not a fan of Ducktales 2017 style which is really weird for me.

On June 7, 1940, Donald's classic short "Mr Duck Steps Out" was shown, featuring Daisy Duck for the first time. 9/6/1934 The Classic Short "The Wise Little Hen" was shown and Donald Duck appeared there for the first time. Donald Duck will become one of the main stars of not only Disney, but also cartoon films, comics and video games at all. Certainly there is no need to tell his history. Della Duck is first mentioned in the comic book Donald's Nephews, and then made her first appearance in the 1994 comic strip "The Empire Builder from Calisota" by Don Rosa, from The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. For the first time Della Duck appeared as a mother and adult woman and had a role in the Dutch comic "80 is Prachtig" from 2014, and she appears for the first time in animation in the Ducktales reboot. Also five years ago is the anniversary of the episode "What Ever Happened to Della Duck?!" where officially Della Duck got her role.

Well, since they are honored these days, and especially Donald Duck who is celebrating his 90th anniversary this year, I drew a birthday party where everyone celebrates their birthdays together. Donald, Daisy and Della Duck along with their family and their friends. Because what kind of birthday is it, without your closest ones. Yes, Donald is in the middle since he is definitely the main one, but he suffered a lot in that series so he definitely deserved the best. Finally, that Donald is happy after a long time and can finally rest. Yes, this is how I imagine the end of Ducktales 2017. And with him are his twin sister Della and his favorite love and girlfriend Daisy Duck. Yes, I also drew the characters as I like to imagine them in my Ducktales AU and Quack Pack reboot based on Ducktales 2017 as well as different outfits that would suit them quite well. Since I can't think of anything else, sorry, and I added Donald's nephews also wear caps and most of them wear jeans. Huey and Louie wear backwards hats. Yes, they are teenagers here too. :D And in front of Donald, of course, a birthday cake with cherries.

In addition to Donald, Daisy, and Della Duck, there are Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, plus Phooey Duck and Kabooie or Kablooie Duck (Donald's fifth nephew, usually wearing brown clothing), Gosalyn Mallard (who is with Huey), Webby Vanderquack and Lena De Spell (Sabrewing, otherwise they are together), May and June Duck, Violet Sabrewing, Scrooge McDuck, Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera and Gandra Dee, Gladstone Gander, Fethry Duck, Drake Mallard, Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose (to draw alone how he smiles I didn't think I'd ever do this), Boyd Beaks-Gearloose and Bentina Beakley. And everyone together celebrates the important birthdays of the most important Ducktales characters. Adults and children together. Happy birthday to you Donald, Daisy and Della Duck!

I've got a DuckTales drabble prompt! Can we get some sisterly bonding between Lena and Violet, please?

Lena woke up swinging.

She looked around the room, seeking out angry monsters or shadows, and found books. A lot of books. Violet kept them stacked on almost all sides-- her bookcase, the shelf with the duck skulls and candles, even on Lena's bedside table. The glow of faerie lights and the smell of old paper was overpowering. Comforting. She heaved a sigh of relief.

Violet shifted. The hummingbird rolled onto her back, then her butt, setting a hand on Lena's shoulder. Lena didn't startle, per se, so much as she flinched away.

"You shouldn't be awake," she whispered. "I- I put a silencing spell on-"

"I know," Violet said, simply. "I cast a counterspell after you fell asleep."

Lena groaned. "Uuuuggghhhh, why are you like this?"

"Shall we get some refreshments?"

Lena groaned again. Violet took that as a yes, crawling out from under the covers. For all her grumbling, Violet knew Lena preferred having someone to be with when she wasn't sleeping well. That was why she pulled out the many stops she did-- silencing spells may ease her conscience a tad, but Violet only felt hers grow heavier with every night she couldn't hear the duckling move about.

Violet returned with the jug of chocolate milk and two glasses. She wiggled her way back under the covers and poured them two perfectly symmetrical cups. Lena reluctantly took hers and drained half of it in one go.

"I don't understand why you put up with me," she admitted finally, bolstered by the darkness. "What do you guys get, having me here?"

"I get a sister," replied Violet immediately. "Our fathers were already planning on adopting someone. You just... came along." She fidgeted a little with the glass. "I knew you needed help. Webby told me how brave you were, sacrificing yourself to save her. I knew you'd be a good person."

"Right. I'm great."

"You and Webby are the only friends I've ever had. I was enthusiastic about getting to know you, and we share a lot of the same interests." Violet shrugged. "I love you."

Lena's beak wobbled as she turned away. "You barely know me."

"I want to know you," she said. "Even the bad parts. I want to rip Magica de Spell's hair out. I want to fight you for the last pancake every morning, and bicker about where we place the rune candles. I've never wanted that before, but I do now." Violet leaned on her side, feeling her instantly try to support her. "I promise."

A hand was carding through her curly hair. "Yeah," said Lena, hushed. "I promise too."
