Deep, Dark and Dangerous (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
smut
You stared at yourself in the mirror. Viola had purchased you a new dress, one that she told you only to wear in her company. When she had presented it to you, for a moment, you wondered if it was completed or not. She swore to you that it was, that the purpose was for little of your body to be left to the imagination. If anybody else had requested you to wear that garment, you never would have agreed, but it was Viola. You would do anything for Viola because you loved her, just like she loved you.
“You look ravishing my dear,” Viola promised you as she pushed open the door. She took the few steps of distance between the two of you and wrapped her arms around your waist. You leaned back into her touch and let her drag you backwards into the bedroom.
There was once a time whenever Viola’s advances towards you were different. She was more playful then, not that she wasn’t still playful. There was an innocence in the way that you touched each other that had been slowly traded for an experienced touch. Viola had been exploring you then and coming into herself at the same time. Now, she knew your body and she had grown into a confident and commanding woman.
“Thank you Madame,” you spoke softly. Normally, your voice was louder and clearer, but Viola like the idea that she made you quiet and timid. It was a control thing. Viola claimed that you had taken control of her thoughts, so she made up for it behind closed doors.
“You are gorgeous and enticing. Truly a testament to my own self control,” Viola said as her hand snuck up your dress. Your legs spread open and Viola smirked at you. “Good girl.”
Viola stared at you as she began to move her hand. It was a lighter and teasing touch, but she quickly began to press firmer. She wanted a reaction from you and it was a reaction that she would get. It couldn’t be a forced one though, she didn’t like those as much, it had to be genuine. And so, Viola would give and give until she got what she wanted from you.
It was a squeak this time. All it had taken for her to decide to take you in a fit of passion was a meek little squeak. The quickness that you found yourself on your back made your head spin. Viola didn’t lay with her head between your legs, instead, she pushed two fingers inside of you. There was no question that you were aroused already, so Viola knew that she could be rougher.
Your body moved with her fingers, chasing after the pleasure that they seemed to promise. Viola shifted her body a bit and her unoccupied hand began to trail up your body. The slight friction from the fabric sets a fire in the pit of your stomach that burns straight through everything. Finally, Viola’s hand comes to wrap around your throat and as she squeezed tighter and tighter, you swear your body begins to explode. If you’re dying, you don’t mind, especially because you know the first thing you’ll see is an angel.
Even if you aren’t dead, when you regain consciousness, you swear you do see an angel. She’s laying in the bed beside you, holding your body against hers. You can see her soft eyes staring at you and the corners of her mouth are upturned slightly. Viola knows that you’re awake because she shifts and as she hovers above you, staring down at you, her hair tickles the side of your neck and shoulder.
“I love you,” Viola said, barely above a whisper. “It’s deep.”
“Sort of dark.” You bit your lip and Viola leaned down and kissed you. You kissed her back and nipped at her bottom lip as she pulled away.
“And a little dangerous, but that’s us. Deep, dark, and dangerous.” It was sort of poetic, but that didn’t take away from the truth in the slightest. Viola was deep, dark, and dangerous, more than anybody would assume at first glance. She was interesting and educated, traits that you found more fascinating in her than possible for anybody else.

Haunting of Bly Manor - Character Zodiac Signs
Aries - Owen Sharma
Owen is cheerful, silly, and unafraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. He works hard to make the people around him happy in whatever way he can, whether through his puns, cooking, or genuine kindness. He is unapologetically honest when he has to be, and thrives around other people.
Taurus - Edmund O’Mara
Edmund is loyal, sweet, and values security. When he chooses somebody, he’s choosing them for life, and nothing is more important to him than his family. He’ll be there for the people he loves, but when he’s struggling, he wants to be alone, and can be stubborn when faced with things he doesn’t want to hear.
Gemini - Henry Wingrave
Henry is a man with good intentions, but feels torn by the darkness in his mind. He knows what he wants and needs for his future, but has a tendency to self-sabotage himself before he can get there. He can be impulsive without considering the consequences, but ultimately will be there for you when it matters most.
Cancer - Flora Wingrave
Flora wants so badly for everybody to be happy all the time, and will do whatever it takes to fulfill the wants and needs of the people around her. She is emotional, loving, and likes to slip away into her own little world. She rarely lashes out, but when she does, she has a good reason.
Leo - Viola Willoughby
Viola is a force to be reckoned with. She enjoys the finer things in life, and is stubborn enough to distort reality into the one she desires. People are drawn to her for reasons that they can’t put into words, and she knows it, and often uses it to her advantage.
Virgo - Hannah Grose
Hannah is the epitome of put-together on the outside, but inside she struggles with processing her emotions. She knows how she feels deep down, but due to her hatred of conflict, she lives in a state of denial. She isn’t afraid to rip into others though, telling them what she really thinks even if it’s harsh, but ultimately only says what others need to hear.
Libra - Charlotte Wingrave
Charlotte is a woman who feels a deep gratitude for life, and wants to share her love with as many people as she can. She is ruled completely by her heart, even when it hurts. She will sacrifice her own wants and needs to meet others’ expectations, but manages to keep a smile on her face. She wants to do what’s right, even if it’s not right for her.
Scorpio - Peter Quint
Peter is passionate, mysterious, and is a firm believer in the ends justifying the means. He takes great pleasure in getting reactions out of people, but everything he does is a disguise. Deep down, he wants to break free of the circumstances he was born into, even if it means that people get hurt along the way. He likes to be in control and hates being trapped, but often finds himself stuck due to his secretive nature and callous demeanor.
Sagittarius - Danielle Clayton
Dani is haunted by the traumas of her past, but she channels it forward into adventure and creativity. She isn’t afraid to leave everything behind for a better, happier future, and she doesn’t doesn’t take shit from anybody. She is witty, protective of herself and others, and jumps into action even when it’s scary.
Capricorn - Jamie
Jamie can be closed off, and is hesitant to accept change, but will let you in if you prove yourself worthy. She is simultaneously careful but indulgent, gentle but firm, and optimistic but realistic. While she may initially come off as a bit standoffish, a simple conversation with her will show that she is simply quiet and thoughtful, only sharing her perspective if she feels it’s relevant.
Aquarius - Miles Wingrave
Miles, while young, has already proven to the adults in his life that he’s intelligent beyond his years. He finds creative solutions to complicated problems, and isn’t afraid to hurt people who pose a threat to his loved ones. He is unpredictable, but filled with potential.
Pisces - Rebecca Jessel
Rebecca is a young woman filled with aspirations, and has always imagined a meaningful life for herself. She sees who people are at their core, rather than how they try to present themselves, and accepts their faults without question. She is deeply in touch with her emotions, and forgives a bit too easily.

“I would have gladly done it for free, but considering my cooking’s still shite, consider it a deal.” She punctuated the statement with a nod, as if that somehow made it a binding agreement. The levity, however, was short-lived as Owen was swift to point out the fact that they couldn’t fully rule out anything, simply based on the fact that they didn’t really know anything. “Why do you always have to ruin it by not knowing when to stop talking, you prat.” It was a half-hearted effort, and if weren’t made clear by the almost flat tone in which she said it, the fact she had to clear her throat right after sealed it.
“I can’t believe she let you speak at her rehearsal dinner,” she quipped, having regained her footing a bit. “Honestly, I don’t think anyone was more reluctant to accept that Flora was now a married woman more so than Miles and Henry.” Jamie lowered her gaze a bit and gave him an awkward smile and mumbled ‘thanks’ in response to the compliment. Adulation was something she was far more comfortable affording those she cared about, over the inverse. Never did quite know how to receive it.
She took the offered napkin, but for a moment she was unsure what to actually do with it. Then another errant tear hit the table and it clicked. The fog that had briefly settled on her brain as she recounted things lifted, and with it so did her hand to dab at her face. “Of sorts, yes,” Jamie said. “To be honest with you, I did so much research in an effort to find a way to help Dani stay…but there was just never enough information. I learned the real name of the Lady in the Lake even, but it didn’t really provide the answers I had hoped.” If anything, learning the story of Viola Willoughby had almost made her pity the ghost. Almost, but not quite. There was sound that was something between a scoff and chuckle, and Jamie barely kept from crying again. “I think it’s fair to say that’s a bit of an understatement mate,” she said. She closed her eyes at the unfinished question, and nodded. Taking a breath, she opened her eyes and said, “She returned the Lady back to the bottom of the lake…”
This time, the sound she was made clearly a chuckle. “Thank god for tables then,” she snarked, as if she hadn’t been the one to hug him earlier. “Yes, and no. I knew that eventually the time would come that we’d have to contend with the ghost getting more powerful, and I also knew that when that time came, she’d likely want to deal with on her own…but, I didn’t know what she would do. I just woke up one morning to a note and knew she’d gone back to where it began but-” Jamie stopped and took a breath, “Well, by the time I got back to Bly all I got for my efforts were sopping wet clothes.”
Owen held his hand out. “We need to shake on it to make it official.” The corners of his mouth tipped upwards in a wry smile. Owen shrugged. “It’s always been a special talent of mine, never knowing when to stop digging, and I’m only proving the point by keeping talking, aren’t I?” He winced. But it was true. There was so much they didn’t know, and who was causing it all was merely the tip of the iceberg. Would they ever find out? He couldn’t say. But would it be so bad if they never got an answer?
“She did what?” His eyebrows raised in surprise. “I bet everyone regretted that.” Owen knew that Flora had been fond of him as a child, but he didn’t think that would have translated to wanting him to give a speech at the rehearsal dinner, especially as it only took a mere handful of years for both her and Miles to forget what happened at Bly. “I can imagine.” He took another sip of his drink. “You are allowed to be proud of yourself, you know.” He insisted. “That’s no mean feat.”
“I’m sure that there wasn’t much else you could have done.” Owen replied quietly. He knew that he wouldn’t have known where to start with research if he had been in Jamie’s position. Would you start by visiting a psychic? Well, that was if there were any out there that were genuine, and Owen wasn’t so sure of that. He had thought that the aftermath of losing Hannah so soon after his mum was difficult, but what Dani and Jamie had gone through was something else entirely. Living all those years with the Lady of the Lake looming in the background, waiting to strike. It was horrifying, to put it simply. “Oh, Jamie....”
He was at a loss for words. What could he say? Nothing seemed enough. Dani had made an impossible choice to keep everyone at Bly safe, but she couldn’t save herself. It wasn’t fair. But life never was, was it? “I’m here, if you ever need anything... a shoulder to cry on, terrible jokes to keep your mind off of things. We’re family, the two of us.”

Within (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
The house had been in your family for years. You had never known a home outside of its walls. It was supposed to be a summer home for your family, but after the untimely death of your parents when you were a baby, it became your home. Anytime that someone tried to take you away from the house, you would cry and cry. Something about the house was seemingly the only thing that soothed you.
Years went by and you grew out of that. Sure, you enjoyed the house more than anything else, but you had a life that you had to go live. It hurt to be away, like a part of you was missing. So, when the opportunity arose for you to come back for your cousins, Flora and Miles, you jumped at the chance to live in the house once again. However, when you got back, it was worse than you ever could have imagined.
“Viola,” you said quietly as you walked around the east wing. “Viola.”
“You left.” Viola’s voice echoed inside of your head. You turned to try and figure out where she was, but her figure was nowhere to be found. Viola never faced you, her back was always turned to you. The ghosts at Bly were faceless and even as an adult, it was unsettling. Viola wanted you to love her, so she would do all she could to soothe you. You being there helped her remember, helped her regain herself, and it seemed that you’d been away long enough for her to forget herself again. “You left me here to waste away. You were supposed to be different.”
“Viola, I couldn’t spend my entire life within these walls. There is a whole world out there I deserve a chance to see,” you told her. You were met with a silence that sent chills down your spine. Something was wrong, but you couldn’t tell what it was yet.
“Take me!” Dani screamed from outside. You raced down to where Dani and Flora were standing to see Viola reaching for Dani.
“Viola let go of her!” you shouted and Viola stopped. “Let her go.”
“Why should I?” Viola asked, turning to look you. “Dani won’t leave me, she’ll take me with her. You left me.”
“I won’t leave you again, I promise. I’ll stay here with you. We can stay in the house, I’ll get the chest out of the lake,” you told Viola and she let go of Dani. Dani’s body landed with a soft thud and Viola took your hand.
“Y/n, no!” Flora screamed. She went to run after you, but Dani held her back. You walked to the edge of the lake and stared into the water, Viola’s reflection staring back at you. “You can’t let her take you!”
“Take them far away from here and never let them come back,” you told Dani calmly. You never took those final steps into the lake, not how everybody assumed that you would. Instead, when you went down, you came back up. The chest was heavy and weighed you down, but you didn’t feel like you were moving it all on your own. Once you had the chest into the house, everything felt different. There was a calmness in the house, like the only ones there were you and Viola.

Body and Soul (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
You glanced back at Flora and Jamie. The screams from the little girl tore your heart to shreds, but you kept on walking. The idea of death wasn’t one that people came by easily, but you knew what you had to do protect the children. So, you walked into the lake and you let her inside of your body. That was how you spent your night in the bottom of a lake as Bly Manor was essentially evacuated.
It took a lot not to let her use you to take them. She was strong, but you fought like hell to hold her in. They had to think you were dead, so you had to let yourself die a little bit. She kept you alive though, the fighting distracted your body from the fact that you were at the bottom of the lake. And when the sun rose, the two of you waded out of the lake together.
“I would like to leave,” you told her. She was inside of you, but at the same time she stood right beside you. Her dress was simple and nothing like the ones described in the story. Those dresses had to have been destroyed whenever the chest was thrown in the lake.
Your legs began to move on her accord and you found yourself walking the path through the house that she had been doing for centuries. You were the conscious mind, but she had the control. So, you were stuck inside of your head watching as she went through the motions over and over again until something changed.
It had been small, a detour to the kitchen. There was no good food left and your body was hungry. Somehow, you hadn’t starved to death, but you had no memory of eating anything. You didn’t think that your memory would fade that quickly because of her. Your mind was going, but that was somewhat to be expected. You did have a ghost woman living inside of your body and she had essentially trapped you inside of the manor.
“We need to go out,” you said as she appeared next to you. “I need to eat something Viola, please.”
“Quickly,” a voice rasped beside you. You glanced over at her and noticed that her features had begun to return. “Go!”
You scrambled away and went into the village to stock up on food. You weren’t as good of a cook as Owen was, but you’d taken a couple of cooking classes in college. Viola seemed surprised that you had returned, and once you thought about it, you were surprised as well. You had an opportunity to leave and live a life of your own, but you had returned.
She returned to you, but stayed passive inside of you as you made your meal. She let you eat and once you were finished, she took over once again. It wasn’t a forceful takeover, but something more subtle. Viola didn’t like sleeping, so she would keep your body up all night wandering around the house and trying to find another ghost. There weren’t any and you didn’t think that there would be any. Her energy was focused on keeping the two of you bound together, slowly dissolving the gravity well she’d created when she died.
Months went on and you noticed Viola’s features returning. Occasionally, they’d fade away a little when you left the manor, but once she returned to you, they came back. With her features, came her memories. As she regained memories, she shared them with you. The two of you began to share a consciousness and your lives melded together as you became one person. It was no longer her possessing you or you using your body as a prison to hold her spirit.
The distinction between the two of you faded quickly once you both accepted what was going to happen. Occasionally, you got a glimpse of her in your reflection and so you’d stop to admire her or talk to her. It was definitely an odd life you’d ended up living, but all you’d ever really wanted to do was help people and you’d helped Viola become herself again.

Those Who Remain (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
Everything Viola wanted was the house. Everything that she had really aspired to have was the house. She had changed herself to keep it. She had become some man’s wife. And yet, she had kept you close as well. It was easier when she had the baby and then when she had become sickly. At first, you’d been the only one who hadn’t been allowed near her. Once the doctors had decided that she wasn’t contagious, you had been let in to see her.
It was hard watching her die, but you did it. It was hard watching everybody that she had loved and care about betray her, but you did that too. In a way, you thought you deserved to stay in that empty house long after everybody else had abandoned it. Sometimes you swore that the universe was tricking you because you saw Viola there. You saw her walking to the east wing and staring at the bed with disappointment. You saw her doing that, so you decided that you’d sleep there and wait for her.
“Viola stop!” you screamed when her hands wrapped around your throat. You had screamed and cried, but she didn’t stop. No, she squeezed harder and you noticed that there was nothing behind her eyes except for rage. She was so angry at the world and you just happened to be the only person left to take it. She dragged you into the lake and held you down until the world faded away. In the morning, you woke up next to the lake, soaking wet and with a horrified Viola staring at you.
“Y/n, what have you done?” Viola asked you.
“I have done nothing,” you told her. You were shaking, both from the cold and anger. “Get away from me. I want nothing to do with you. The woman I loved is not in there anymore, just an angry husk.”
You stormed off after that and Viola did not follow you. You sat and waited for your spirit to move on from the house, but it never did. Instead, you sat there and thought about the life you could have had if you hadn’t stayed behind. Viola still walked the walls, but as time went on, she became different. One night, she had walked right through you and even as you chased her down and called her name, she kept moving, as if she didn’t understand who you were trying to reach.
“Viola, please,” you pleaded with her. “Look at me, please, look at me.”
“Who are you?” Viola asked you. Her face was beginning to fade and her voice was distorted. “Why do look at me like that?”
“Viola, please, look at me. I know you are in there, and I want you to know that I’m not angry anymore. I stayed here for you. I know you did not mean to kill me, it was an accident. Viola please, I know you’re in there and I need you. There’s no point in remaining in the house if I can’t stay with you,” you told her. Viola’s eyes, for a brief moment, regained the soft brown coloring. It was over as soon as it had begun though and instead of having to watch Viola carry off another poor soul to the lake, you went somewhere else.
It was warm and comforting, unlike anything you’d ever felt before. There was a light that shone brighter than any other light you’d ever seen before. You were at rest and it was supposed to be a relief, but all you could think about was how lonely you were without Viola. Instead of relief, you got guilt about those who would remain in the house because Viola, at her core, was gone.

Break In (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
You hadn’t meant for the doors to fall open when you’d stumbled into them. Yet, they did and you fell onto the floor. As you tried to pull yourself onto your feet, your eyes were met with a beautiful silk dress. Your eyes slowly trailed upwards to see Viola Willoughby staring down at you. The look on her face was one between anger and concern. Viola hated you, she had made that clear when she announced her engagement, but you were in no state for that to matter.
“I’m sorry... didn’t know where else to go...” Your arms gave out from under you and your body fell against the floor. You could not attempt to move after that, but when you came to, you were laying in a bed. It wasn’t the one you’d spent years curled up beside her in. This was a bigger and nicer bed.
“What happened to you?” Viola asked you calmly. It was a forced calmness, one that you had only heard her use whenever someone became suspicious of your relationship.
“It turns out you might have been the brains of our little operation,” you joked. You tried to laugh, but it came out as a wheeze that began a coughing fit. Viola helped you, soothed whatever had been disturbed in your body, and held you carefully. “They caught me with another woman. This one had a husband, not a nice one.”
“I have a husband,” Viola told you.
“I know, you kicked me out because of it,” you grumbled. Viola pressed a kiss to your forehead and took your hand in hers. “You have a husband.”
“And I wish that I did not.”

Service (Viola Willoughby x Reader)
smut
“That was foolish, interjecting yourself like that Y/n,” Viola told you. She wasn’t yelling yet, but you could tell that she was angry with you. There had been some sort of plan with a man that you hadn’t been let in on. Your jealousy had gotten the best of you and now Viola was calming you down in another room while Perdita dealt with the male visitor. “You may have ruined everything. Do you know how hard I will have to fight to keep my home now?”
“I am sorry Viola. I will make things better, I swear.” You stood up from the chair you’d been sitting in and stepped towards her. Viola placed her hand on your waist and pushed you back into the chair. “Let me fix this.”
“Stay here. I will be back, hopefully you did not spoil the entire evening. And you will be making this up to me,” Viola said and you nodded. She leaned down and trailed her hand down the side of your cheek. You waited for a kiss that never came as she walked out of the room, leaving you there alone. Hours later, she returned to you, in a much better mood than before.
“How did your evening go?” you asked politely. In all honesty, you did not care. Viola knew that, she knew that you just wanted to get close to you.
“The evening went well. I cannot completely fault you for your outburst earlier, the man is indeed, an ass,” Viola said with a small smirk on her lips. “Since you were not entirely out of line, if you provide me a service, I will consider us on equal terms again.”
“A service?” you asked and Viola nodded. You were happy to give her whatever it was that she wanted. Viola had requested things like this before. It wasn’t uncommon for her to clean up a mess you’d made and then request that in return you service her.
Since you knew the drill, it hadn’t taken long for you to get on your knees in front of her. Viola kept a tight grip on your hair, moving your mouth where she wanted it. If Viola wanted you to use fingers or do something else, she would simply tell you. You hung on every word that she said, following her instructions to the letter.
“He will be back,” Viola told you as she pushed your head away from her. She was breathless, a sign of a job well done from you. “And you will keep away from him. If you’re good and quiet, good things will your way my lovely.”
