Welcome to the March #PortfolioClub assignment!

This month's #portfolioclub2020 assignment comes from Rachael Schafer and Debra Styer, and as we ease into spring, we are all about Vintage Fruit Labels! Both @debrastyer and @rachaelschaferdesigns have a deep love of Florals and flourishy vintage design. The colors! The lettering! The little world's created! Vintage Fruit Label design is a area of unique beauty because of the inherent loveliness of fruits and the buds and flowers they are borne from. Also the lettering ranges from stark sans serif to flourishy as well as all get out! As we near the warm season of buds, unfurling leaves and baby birds, we both just thought this would be a fantastic way to transition into the new season.

Here's my Vintage Fruit Labels Art for March #PortfolioClub2020 assignment! . Well, when this month started who knew what a crazy world we would be left in. I created my illustration inspired by the Greek Goddess Persephone tale. The young Goddess was trapped in the Underworld by Hades and only convinced/tricked to stay there (at least for half the year) by the sweet taste of a pomegranate seed. It seems like a pretty relevant story these days as we are all feeling a bit trapped in our spaces. Hopefully, you can all connect in some way with your family and loved ones. .
