I looked up how to punctuate dialogue when it spreads across multiple paragraphs, like when a character is on a huge, huge, huge tangent, and so there has to be multiple paragraphs, and I truly do appreciate the fact that one of the first pieces of advice that came up was “just don’t have your dialogue that long, who needs to be saying that much anyway.”

I think one of the best parts about the fic, aside from vinnyskinny, is how often I get to write Stu crying, since you know he would be one hormonal bastard. The guy known for being pretty chill but intense when needed? Fucking insane while pregnant.

Obviously this one is going to be about VinnySkinny lol. So, there was a game, back when both Stu and Vinny played on the Wichita Thunder together, that Stu let in nine goals, and afterwards, he says that the two of them went home to their shared apartment, and just sat on the couch together, and Stu remembers telling Vincent that he didn’t know if the NHL was going to happen for them, and that it just seemed so faraway. Whenever I’m plot building for them, and trying to figure out the course and growth of their relationship in fics, that’s the point I always go back to as the kind of turning point in their relationship, when maybe one of them realized they wanted to be more than friends, or when they just hope and pray that they can stay together for as long as possibly. For the most part, for me, that’s always the first story beat in my WIPs for them.
