I very genuinely adore the Fast and the Furious franchise. It's so silly and every one is more ridiculous than the last, WHICH IS WILD in terms of Fast X -- because in F9 they literally drove a car into space -- so.

Weird pet peeve: sometimes fic authors want to have their character drive stick shift but then they say things like "shifting gears as they go down the highway" and I want to scream. You shift gears to get up to speed. If you're already speeding and have been for awhile, there is zero reason to shift gears. Please stop getting driving lessons from Vin Disel and friends.

yeah while the movie does portray the kids as a handful that’s mostly bc their dad dies at the start of the movie and mom has to go to europe to help the military find a maguffin he left behind. vin disel’s character also has no experience raising kids, and the kids quickly learn to respect him. the dad is portrayed as smart and the mom as overwhelmed but competent so 🤔 idk the seeds are there for modern hollywood maybe

just realized “the pacifier” portrays a family with 5 kids in a way that doesn’t make a single joke about how big it is. this was made under 20 years ago. think how differently hollywood would treat a family of that size today. 🤔 how quickly we’ve changed.
