📽 D U N E 📽 Blockbuster TobiView ▪️ Wie beginne ich mein TobiView am besten, wenn es um einen Film geht, auf den gefühlt die ganze Welt gewartet hat (inkl. mir), der aber die eigene, persönliche Erwartungshaltung dann nicht ganz erfüllt? ▪️ Nach ��Der Wüstenplanet“ von David Lynch aus dem Jahr 1984 und der Mini-Serien “Dune – Der Wüstenplanet“ von John Harrison aus dem Jahr 2000 ist DUNE (Part One) die dritte Adaption der Buchvorlage von Frank Herbert aus dem Jahr 1965. ▪️ Der im Vorfeld als “Star Wars für Erwachsene“ beschriebene Film ist episch, aber hauptsächlich auf audio-visueller Ebene. Thematisch erinnert der Film ein wenig an “Game of Thrones“, nur halt im Sci-Fi-Gewand. Bildlich gesprochen steht hinter jeder Tür ein Star. Der Cast ist namhaft bis in die Nebenrollen. Die absolut herausragende Musik stammt von niemand geringerem als Hans Zimmer und Regie führte Denis Villeneuve, der in der Vergangenheit schon für gute bis sehr gute Filme gesorgt hat. Kann da eigentlich etwas schief gehen? Jain! ▪️ Audio-visuell ist DUNE tatsächlich der epische Film geworden, den man erwartet hat! Geniale Bilder, eindringlicher Soundtrack, überzeugende Effekte, herausragendes Produktionsdesign– das macht DUNE alles richtig. Der 155 Min. lange Film bietet große Action-Szenen, aber auch längere dialoglastige Sequenzen mit starker Bildsprache. Dies entschleunigt den Film und gibt dem Zuschauer genug Zeit, um das gezeigte zu erfassen. Leider geht dies auch etwas zu Lasten des Pacing und führt immer wieder zu kleineren Längen. Eine insgesamt kürzere Laufzeit hätten dem Film gutgetan. ▪️ DUNE ist ein relativ gut zugängliches und starkes Sci-Fi-Drama, was mich aber eher auf der audio-visuellen, als auf der erzählerischen Seite überzeugen konnte. Ein Auftakt zu etwas Größerem!? 1. the astronaut - JIN (listen)

this is my go-to track for when i need comfort. the instrumentation is so soothing and uplifting, and so is jinnie’s middle singing range! ending it on “i love you” is the best thing he’s ever done for us.

2. no.2 - RM (with parkjiyoon)

every single track off of indigo is so deliberately artful with its own contained narrative, so it could feel like i’m just picking any of them for my current favorite. but this is a particular song that i’m trying to apply to my own life.

3. christmas tree - V (listen)

there are few things better than a taehyung ballad + ‘tis the damn season!

4. fearless - SEVENTEEN (listen)

this is one is straightforward too. it’s a hype song!! i need one in my favorites list every time.

5. love poem - IU (listen)

if i was still making fan vids, i would 100% use this tune for something, because its simple structure literally crescendos to something grand and cinematic. message-wise, jieun expresses a sentiment that i would love to convey to all my friends who are having a hard time this time of year.
