☆ Radiant Guiding Light — Goldheart x GN Reader Fic ☆

Genre: Fluff || they/them pronouns for reader || No warnings needed

A/N: Admittedly I don't know much about this guy- so I hope this isn't too OOC! So sorry if it is. Also, to note: I have both Goldheart and Reader use Spanish, but I myself only know English, so I apologize if the scentances come across as choppy or incorrectly translated!

Concrete made contact with your shoes as you walked down the sidewalk, scanning your phone on the local news. You were a hero, so staying up to date on the news was important to your work. Not quite on the clock yet, you scrolled absentmindedly on the latest outlets. There was always something happening, all over the world. It induced you with a little guilt, knowing you couldn't help everyone. All you had was this community, but with criminals like the Black Hat Org, that was already quite a handful.

At the sound of a nearby shriek, you immediately snapped your head to be facing that direction. Before you could even process what you were seeing, a wayward car was already barreling towards you from the sky. You couldn't even flinch, with only milliseconds to react and no time to activate your ability. Reacting on instinct, your body made you close your eyes and shrink in in yourself, bracing for impact the best it could. It took time for the fear-thick haze to leave your mind, and you realized through painfully tense muscles that the impact never landed.

Daring to look up, the first thing you saw was a glint of bright gold reflected light. You nearly closed your eyes again, but the recognition of who was before you made you finally be in control of your own senses once more. Your nervous system felt your own again as you stepped back, looking up as Goldheart and another hero had stopped the hurtling vehicle mere centimeters from you. Your processing was a little slow still, so it didn't sink in what the heroes were saying to one another before the other had left, and Goldheart quickly flocked to your side.

"¿Qué pasó, estás bien?¿Cómo estás, cariño, te has hecho daño?" He asked, gently tilting your head in his hands to look over your face, moving his head to make sure you didn't have scrapes anywhere else. You tried your best to shake off your shock, meeting his concerned eyes. "I- bien-" you replied, choppily trying to piece together a scentance "Good, I'm good. Just- a close call. No es la primera vez". Goldheart sighed, pulling you close to him in an embrace. "Oh, good, good. Lo siento, mi cielo, I didn't see you come up this way". "It's okay," you said, taking a deep breath as you pulled back "I'll be able to join in to help soon, I just need to get to HQ and suit up".

"And you're sure you want to, after this?" Goldheart asked, a concerned frown on his face as he pet your cheek with his thumb "What if you get hurt?". "I'm a hero, Gold, it's just part of the job" you replied, gently leaning out of his hold "Make sure the press doesn't see you talking to me, we don't want any rumors about some 'secret civilian romance' scandal". That made Goldheart chuckle a little, and he patted your shoulder "I'll take you out for your favorite when the shift ends. Tan solo ten cuidado, mi sol". He then glanced around, making sure no news broadcasters were looking. The last thing he wanted was a nosy interviewer making trouble for you both. He gently kissed your forehead with a soft word of "Te veo pronto" before turning back to the remains of the won battle.

You nodded to him, jogging a little quicker as you made your way up the street again. It wasn't often that you two got to work together, the life of a popular hero was a very busy one. But you were determined to stay by his side... and maybe ask for a raise, now that you were thinking about it. Hero insurance didn't cover nearly enough, even with super durability.

Was pondering how Mark’s rigid ass mask/lens is prob a Budget Thing (since squishy, bendy lens are pretty much a mandate for all hero animated series, like JL, BTAS, TNBA, Spider-Man, etc), and then I was slapped with a vision of Mark in a more JL/BTAS-ish style and I had to see it through. This takes place after the TV scene with Goldheart in episode 6. Letz go, Yandere Goldheart agenda.

And all the years that went by of trying to find him. All those years of contemplating if he did the right thing. He loved the glory, fame, and fortune he received, but in the back of his head, he knew. He knew nothing would ever replace the happiness that he had felt with him. He just felt empty sitting down in an enormous apartment all alone. Nobody would ever truly understand him other than that person. But it's futile to look for him anymore, for all he knows he could have been already dead. Until he saw the news in his large flat screen TV. He was kissing one of his "members." He sighed, it looks like someone had made his plan come to a halt. 'Flugslys, what are you doing? Haven't I hurt you enough in the past? Why are you back here again?', his mind questions, but then again, he would be lying if he didn't feel at least a bit happy to know he was alive. As well as a pang of jealousy with him kissing someone else other than him.

Their relationship was.... complicated. From the get-go, they were not meant for each other. It was like they were oil and water. Both were never meant to mix with the other. And yet funnily enough fate made them cross paths for a reason none of them knew. At first, he befriended him out of curiosity and the idea to use him as a stepping stone to his glory. However, he came to love and care that socially akward man. And the way they ended things was not on good note. He can still feel Flug's stare on him. That stare that was filled with nothing but wrath and resentment. And Goldheart knows that he deserved it. Knowing that their relationship was never meant to last. Like spring flowers damned to wilt as winter comes..... but perhaps this time, he can make those flowers permanently stay. He didn't know what was making him think these things. Was it wishful thinking that they can still restore their relationship? Or just his desire to keep Flugslys near him as close as possible? Did he feel that it's his responsibility to fix the doctor as he was the one that broke him in the past? Surely, one of those is the answer to what he was feeling. 'We can't be together like that Herbert....... because you'll betray me.', those were the words that he got when asked Kennings to be his lover. And it was true. He did betray him. "Oh, but don't worry, Kenny.... I'll make sure that fate or whatever is trying to stop us will be bound to die. Because this time..... this time, I'll burn everything to the ground just to keep you with me. I promise you that....", he said as his eyes glowed golden, his hand gripping a picture of Flug's smiling face. He will have his blond haired canary back, whether it be for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, not even death can part them. He will make sure of that.

You ever get the feeling that goldheart wasn’t in to miss heed because he was weirded out by her.

Like I don’t see why he wouldn’t have dated her. Everyone wanted either to be with her or be her. And plus did she never think to use her love spell on him or did she simply not use it on him thinking he would be impressed with her hero reputation and cute look?

Or did she try to use it on him and he caught in because his powers make him immune to her.

Idk but it’s just strange to me that she couldn’t get him.

Or there’s always the theory that you know he’s just for the gays. I think a while ago there was a picture of his online profile and someone said he was bi??? Idk it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.

A next gen concept I don’t think no will ever use (because I have to many ocs tbh) but Goldheart and flung having a trio of super powered triplets that are inspired/parody version of the ppg named the golden girls. Given powers by their pops (flug) their names are Blanche, Betty and Bea (after the actresses and character).

Blanche is white gold and the leader.

Betty is Black gold and the fighter

Bea is rose gold and the smart one (and flugs favorite)

I haven’t read the official comics yet so correct me on my headcannon if I’m wrong but can you imagine if the reason goldheart even has powers is because of Flug.

Like what if it’s a miss heed situation all over again only Flug willingly designed the suit and or gave him the body modifications to begin with.

Can you imagine having made your own villain with your own craft?!?! And then having it used against you time and time again.

It would drive me insane.
