Back to your new “home.” The house with no exits. The bed with silk restraints. They tell you it’s an honor. That he chose you. That soon, the Golem will breed a new generation of defenders with you.

You cry. You fight. It doesn’t matter.

The villagers are smiling.

The Golem is heating up.

And the door locks behind you.

You were kidnapped. Straight up. Dragged into a pillager outpost, thrown into a cell. You expected death. Or torture.

Instead, you were cleaned up. Fed. Given silk clothes. And then they brought it in.

Their “Golem.” It’s not made of iron.

It’s made of dark obsidian, bone blocks, and corrupted redstone.

And it’s alive. A twisted mix of dark rituals and code-breaking. It has a voice—gravel and static—and a mind. One that only cares about you.

The pillagers say you were chosen. That you’re their “heart-bearer.” That only you can satisfy the Golem’s need to bond.

And oh, it bonds hard.

Every night, it comes to your cell. Fills you with corrupted seed that leaves your stomach bloated, your body tingling, your mind slipping. It doesn’t just want you—it wants to remake you. Fill you so deeply, so often, that your humanity warps.

IRON GOLEM:

I want to talk about my 'Minecraft' mod, so you all have to hear about it. I'm not entirely sure how interested people will be in this project, but I struggle with social media, so if I'm going to post anything on Tumblr, it's going to be my longwinded ramblings about fun projects I'm doing.

To preface, since I last posted, I have started studying game design at university (clap for me please, thank you), and making a MC mod is one of the major assessments for this semester. I have never made a mod before, and I'm not an experienced programmer or pixel artist, but I have been really enjoying working on this project so far.

To kick us off, I'll talk a bit about the new base metal I've added: tungsten. It's roughly equivalent to iron, but it has the added benefit of having half the toughness of diamond, which is a stat that is unique to diamond and netherite. If you don't know, there is a damage threshold in MC, and if you take high bursts of damage that exceed that threshold in one hit, a portion of the damage penetrated your armour. Toughness raises that threshold, so it is essentially resistance against piercing damage.

This tungsten can be mined in the Overworld, but nuggets are also dropped by Illagers, vindicators now have tungsten axes instead of iron, and there is a unique uncraftable Illager tungsten hemet variant that is only obtainable as loot from Illagers.

Tungsten can be further upgraded to another new metal: wolfram. By combining tungsten ingots with amethyst shards (subject to change) like netherite scraps with gold, you obtain wolfram ingots, which can be used to craft armour or upgrade tungsten tools at a smithing table.

Wolfram is also tough, and its stats are between iron and diamond in terms of progression.

What is the hierarchy and the political structure of the illager empire?

Illagers are ruled by an oligarchic monarchy.

At the top we have the Arch-Emperor. This is the supposed ruler of illager kind, but really, these monarchs are often at the mercy of the whims of their various advisors. To use Archie as an example, he seemed ultimately powerful, and while he does have a lot of political influence, he was fact more of a figurehead for the empire (and the literal cursed forbidden object, but that’s not relevant) and is vulnerable to competitors or mutiny. Then we have the second-in-command. This is made up of the most powerful, influential and skilled mages, warlocks, generals, warlords and captains. All use titles pertaining to a key aspect of their authority: E.G, a skilled vindicator general with a high body count would be called The Executioner. A uniquely powerful evoker would be called The Thaumaturge (side glances at my musty crusty man Herold). A dude known for his engineering prowess would be called The Engineer. So on.

Thirdly, we have the warriors. This is made up of mostly vindicators. Pillagers are more expendable, where as vindicators are the real weaponry. This is made up of illagers specifically trained, brainwashed and surgically altered to be killing machines. This is where vindicators with lapis implants are situated. Not every vindicator gets a lapis implant, of course — Lapis is a precious material, with many uses. Illagers are picked carefully to be operated on. Stronger, bigger, hardier and higher up vindicators are often chosen. Illager parents whom are particularly patriotic may offer up their children to be turned into weapons. Fucked up! But to them, it’s like sending their kid to Harvard. This class is also made up of less skilled magic casters, and younger ones who are still students of the arcane arts.

And then we have the workforce. This is made up of the lower class illagers who weren’t born wealthy enough to be educated. Some are still given military training: Those are your good old pillagers, sent to outposts to be tutored by captains. They are used as expendable meat shields, for the most part. You also have workers like miners, farmers, shopkeepers…. Non-combat oriented ills. They need someone to put food on the table and iron in the forges, after all.

Lastly, we have the strays and peasantry. This encompasses a variety of different classes. Stray illagers are those like illusioners and some witch covens. They aren’t special enough to be Real Illagers. This may include lords and ladies who have been stripped of their ranks for treason or some other crime. Often aren’t welcome in illager society, and live on the outskirts. We also have religious minorities, like the Gale Sanctum, who are relatively oppressed and have considerable tension with “true illagers”. They’re considered primitive and lesser by many illagers. Simply weirdos who live in the mountains and clang rocks and ice together with their silly wind powers, not a real magical culture or anything. (Sarcasm)

At least they’re not… villagers…. [sounds of illager disgust]

This is also made up of non-illager aligned witches and villagers who have been taken into illager society as slaves. Many villagers are taken in raids and sold off for labour, experimentation and prostitution. Slavery is legal in illager society, if you hadn’t guessed. They don’t call ‘em ill-willed villagers for nothing.

For anyone that has one or several Minecraft or MC: Dungeons OCs, if you had to describe your character using three items that they have, what would they be? You can do this with one character, or multiple, like I've done.

Hunter: Axe, Shield, Spyglass

Neva: Potion of Regeneration, Potion of Poison, Potion of Frenzy

Part of Hunter’s reputation as the Grim Headsman comes from their Axe, which they use to behead their targets. On the surface, they may seem like nothing more than a relentless Mercenary, but at heart they're very cautious and rely heavily on the protection of their Shield. They also like to examine their prey using their Spyglass before engaging in a fight. Knowing the target makes it easier to defeat them.

Along with being stubborn as a mule, Capri's love of long-standing monuments of ages past fueled the writing of her enchantments, which is why as a Librarian she carried a Book of Unbreaking on her head. Her obsession also stemmed from her home civilization, a jungle village that was lost after she became a zombie. Her potted Fern served as a reminder of her past life. After she was cured, she studied eldritch symbols, which led her to the discovery of an Eye of Ender that was concealed in an old ruin.

Akira's Fishing Rod was essential to her work as an Angler. Every so often, she would travel to a coral reef where she caught fish and collected trinkets that she found in the water, then transported them to places where she could sell them. She also liked to play the Harp, a soothing instrument to match her carefree attitude. She never questioned the origins of the items she found on that reef, including a certain Medallion that held a power unlike anything she had ever witnessed.

Neva made her living as a healer, so she always had a Potion of Regeneration on hand. She was also a Witch, however, and her services came with a price. She would often use her patients as test subjects, incorpoating Potions of Poison and other dangerous substances into her treatments. Although the purposes of these experiments was unclear, some of them had useful results, such as the creation of the Potion of Frenzy, an invaluable resource on the battlefield.

Gustav's fatal flaw was that he firmly believed there was no situation he couldn’t get out of with just his wits and his Crossbow. His manipulative nature ensured that he had no friends amongst his fellow Pillagers, so he turned to sweet things, like Sweet Brew, to comfort himself. He used these tactics to avoid as much responsibility as possible, but despite this, he was still often consulted as a strategist. When he planned for a raid, he would draw out Village Maps with concerning accuracy to detail.

As a Pillager, Roger was issued his own Crossbow, which he only used when he believed it was absolutely necessary to do so. His actions were primarily driven by his devotion to his tribe and his faith, which was why he always wore an Iron Amulet around his neck. His loyalty and resolve earned him the right to carry an Illager Banner as he was appointed to be the captain of his patrol.

Berna considered herself a peak Vindicator specimen, and she weilded her Axe with tremendous strength and pride. She also felt a strong connection with her long line of warrior ancestors, some of whom wore claw-like Maulers, the same ones she wore. Wherever she went, her indomitable stature and powerful voice inspired her comrades and terrified her enemies. Her Goat Horn amplified her presence along with the might of her tribe whenever they charged into battle.

Frode swung his Axe maniacally whenever he chased his victims down the corridors of his dungeon of torment. His methods as a torturer were particularly cruel, even for a Vindicator, and he was often seen admiring tokens of agony, such as the Skulls of past inmates. Even when he delighted in letting his prisoners believe they could escape, none of them could without first confronting him and obtaining his Dungeon Key.

Every Evoker has a backup plan, which is why Atrid always carried a Totem of Undying on her person. She would also gladly sacrifice the needs of others for her own ambitions, and was obsessed with her own beauty and privilege as chief of her mansion. Whenever she was alone, she would admire herself in her Silver Mirror. Her thirst for power even surpassed her sense of honor, to the point that she secretly had a set of Rune Daggers custom made for her. Daggers are considered by many to be the weapons of cowards.

For particularly dire situations, Ilmari kept a Totem of Protection to defend himself and any colleagues that joined the Evoker on his scholarly expeditions. He found it during his mission to explore the ruins of an ancient civilization deep underground, which is also how he came to be in the possession of an Echo Compass, which pointed towards items of tremendous power. He dedicated himself to the collection of these items, until one day he found a Golden Feather, a wondrous artifact whose origin had been lost to time. His new project became finding where it came from.

I was genuinely shocked by how rewarding it was to write answers to this prompt, so I strongly encourage you to give it a try. You might discover things you feel your character was missing, or expand on things that weren't very thought out before. If not, it's at least a decent conversation starter.
