Summary: Dara got to many little pink houses for christmas, Percy is not amused.

Percy sighed. It was a good job he loved his daughter more than life. How had nobody communicated about her Christmas presents? Now he had a bunch of different sized little pink houses dotted around the place. Viktor had seen him trying to organise them, laughed and walked away, the git. So here Percy was, trying to convince Dara that yes, her 12 pink houses would be fine. That they could shrink some of them and rotate them. That he would do practically anything to get these monstrosities off his living room floor. He turned as he heard someone enter. As soon as Harry walked through the door, he jumped back with a yelp. “Percy, what was that for?” he asked, annoyed. “Because you overindulge, you twat. She didn’t need 2 different Barbie doll houses and a LOL doll set off you and George alone,” he answered, seething. “And that’s not to mention everyone else she asked for one from. So now I have 12 stupid different pink houses here. That one, that one’s a Sylvannian Families one. She doesn’t even like them, she hates how they feel. Now I have to get rid of it in a few weeks so she doesn’t have a meltdown because she can’t play with it. And I’m blaming you,” he said as he waved his wand in Harry’s face. 

“Well, just put a few away. Which are her favourites?” Harry asked. “All of them!” Percy said, glaring at his brother-in-law. “And it’s all your bloody fault. Why did you have to start selling muggle toys, too? In your bloody shop? She wouldn’t have seen them otherwise.” He groused. “I’d say I’m sorry, but I’m not. They sell so well in Hogsmeade, especially when we enchant the dolls.” Harry explained. “Yeah, well, bully for you. Now my living room is full of little pink houses. We have Barbie, Polly Pocket, The Littlest Pet shop, that big wooden thing mum brought, Hermione got her one that she has to build herself. Harry …” Percy said as he leant in close. “She doesn’t even like pink Harry,” he hissed out. Causing Harry to throw his head back and laugh. Just then, the menace in question came running into the room screaming “Uncle Harry” at the top of her lungs. Percy watched, heart in his throat as Harry picked her up and threw her around. He knew better than to say anything, otherwise they would do it more, but he hated it. 

He stood watching with a smile as Dara talked to Harry. Suddenly tuning in when something caught his attention. “Who is being mean to Aster?” he asked. “A boy he plays with Daddy, he said boys can’t like pink. Aunt Pansy said sometimes muggles have silly ideas like that and it was ok, but now Aster won’t have any pink in his bedroom. So I said that’s ok. I will ask for lots of pink, even if I don’t like it, and his silly friend can’t come to play. But when Aster does, we will have lots to play with. And look daddy, we do.” Dara said as she spread her arms wide, beaming. Percy looked at Harry and noticed he too had tears in his eyes. “How are you the sweetest child to ever be born, Dara?” he asked huskily as she giggled in Harry’s arms. Percy couldn’t wait anymore. He grabbed her back and hugged her tight. “I love you so much, sweetheart,” he said. Dara snuggled in her father’s arms, surrounded by too many pink houses that were bound to drive Percy barmy, but he would deal with it for Aster and Dara, his amazing girl. “I’ll go floo Nev, you go tell Viktor, I will text George to expect a gushing floo call.” Harry said with a laugh as he watched Percy pouring so much love and adoration into the little being in his arms. That didn’t stop him chuckling on the way out about how he had enchanted the Lol dolls and their house so that they never stayed put and the pieces would randomly change colour. Dara would adore it. Percy was going to go spare when he figured it out.

Prompt 74: "You're the one I want." Word Count: 945 _____________________________________________________________________ Harry's name was just fired out of the Goblet and Y/N was holding onto Hermione for dear life. How could this happen? Y/N wasn't sure how his name was put in there but it was, the Goblet didn't lie. There was no way Harry couldn't possibly have put it in there himself, no way. Hermione looked over her shoulder at Ron, who just shrugged. He was pissed. He wanted to be the one who's name was in there. This was worrying and stressful all at the same time. Harry didn't get much time with us now, but they made do with the time we did have with him. "Have any of you been asked to the ball yet?" He asked at breakfast one morning, a few days after his name flew from the Goblet. Y/N shook her head and so did Hermione. Ron told the rest of their group how he asked a girl from Hufflepuff and was rejected in the sweetest way. Y/N looked at Hermione as she gawked at Viktor Krum walking by. She sighed and put down her fork, "Do you even plan on going to the ball?" Hermione asked Y/N, who nodded, "I don't know if I want to go with anyone though, you know, be able to dance with whomever I want and not have someone angry with me at the end of the night." Y/N explained her decision, not wanting to blurt out that she would so much rather go with Hermione than anyone else at all. The friends nodded in agreement as they finished their meals, Harry having to run off and do some interview for another paper. Y/N stood and told Ron and Hermione she would be in the library, studying and with that, she was off on her way. Ron asked Hermione is she had anyone in mind and she told him all about her recent feelings for Y/N, Ron asked if she had acted upon these feeling and Hermione answered with: "No, I don't think she feels the same way. Viktor asked me to the ball last night and I didn't want to turn him down so I told him I'd go. I hope she finds a date too." Hermione sighed. Going to Diagon Alley with George, Fred and Ginny, Y/N decided she would buy her dress now and get it over with. She found this gorgeous, emerald green dress that shimmered in the light. Even the boys thought it looked nice, "If I weren't already going with Angelina, I'd ask you out now." Fred commented, earning an eye roll from Y/N and Ginny. They continued shopping and Ginny ended up finding her dress that day as well. Y/N told her it really brought out the color of her eyes. After getting new jewelry and shoes, they all headed back to school and the girls showed their house their dresses. The night of the ball, Ginny and Y/N helped each other with hair and makeup then went together with Neville and Luna. They had a dashing time, chatting with Ginny's brothers and laughing with Harry when he told us about Cho going with Cedric so he and Ron got stuck with the Patil twins. As Y/N takes a big gulp of punch, she notices the crowd parting for someone walking in. She stands on a chair, as she's too short to see over everyone, and sees it's Hermione with Viktor. All of the hope Y/N had left crumbled to the ground when she saw Hermione's smile as she danced with Viktor. Y/N sunk into her chair and drank her punch, this time spitefully. As the night went on, Y/N laughed and danced crazily with everyone from Neville Longbottom to George Weasley to Dean Thomas to Adrian Pucey. However, she always kept an eye on Hermione and Krum. She grimaced one last time before deciding to call it a night. She told everyone thank you for such a great night and headed for the Gryffindor common room. Y/N sits on the couch, her head back and eyes closed. She sighs and smiles to herself. The painting creaks open and Y/N lifts her head to see who is walking in and is surprised to see none other than Hermione Granger herself. "How come you're back so early? I thought you were out with Krum." Y/N questioned, "The boys spoiled it, but also, I wasn't having too much of a good time." Hermione sat next to Y/N. "No? Why not?" Y/N asked, her full attention on Hermione. "He's not the brightest. Besides I have my eye on someone else anyway." Hermione sighed, making eye contact with Y/N. Y/N cocked an eyebrow, "Who?" She asked. Hermione sighed again and took Y/N's hand in hers, "You're the one I want." she told the girl in front of her in a whisper. Y/N gasped and gaped at the gorgeous girl holding her hand. "M-Me?' She asked Hermione, who just nodded. Y/N no longer had control over her body and leaned over her dress, taking Hermione's cheeks in her hands and pressing her lips to Hermione's. Hermione brought her hands up to tangle in Y/N's hair, smiling against her lips. They pulled apart, resting their foreheads against the other's, smiling and panting with each other. "I think I really like you." Hermione blushed, "I think I really like you too." Y/N told her, and stood up, holding her hand out to Hermione. Hermione took her hand and gave Y/N a quizzical look, "We're going back to that ball and making it a good night." Y/N told her, making Hermione smile and nod. "Thank you." Hermione told the other girl. "Don't mention it, sweetheart." Y/N winked.
