Gisterenavond werd het weer eens pasta met ham en kaas, aangevuld met verse groenten. Ik wil wel wat anders, maar ik wil niet meteen een kilopak pasta of rijst moeten kopen en in die kleine supermarktjes hier is het aanbod maar beperkt.

Als ik opsta, is het doodstil aan het meer, zelfs het water beweegt nauwelijks. Het is zulk helder weer dat je voelt dat het alweer een warme dag gaat worden. Ik moet eerst weer terug naar de weg en daarna richting Løkken Verk. Daar is weer iets met een wegafsluiting, dat zag ik gisteren al, maar volgens de mevrouw van de SPAR kon je er op de fiets wel langs. Als ik daar aankom, blijkt de halve weg weggegleden langs de helling en ze zijn bezig met herstelwerkzaamheden. Er staat een hek en een pijl met de omleiding, die is een kleine 40 km schat ik zo. Dus ik fiets om het hek heen en rij heel rustig naar de werklui, als die me zien gebaren ze, ga er maar langs. Zo, opgelost!

Naarmate ik dichter bij de kust kom, wordt de lucht vochtiger en tegen de middag ben ik bij een fjord, niet zo’n spectaculaire maar een hele gewone met mooie glooiende hellingen er omheen.

Her gekwinkeleer van de bosvogeltjes is inmiddels overgegaan in gekrijs van meeuwen, waar nog maar af een toe een bedeesd piepje van een mus doorheen klinkt.

Het wordt een hele mooie fietstocht langs het water, telkens een meter of 30 omhoog en dan weer afdalen. De route is ook populair bij de Vikingsun tour een Duitse variant van de Carbage run. Het laatste stuk naar Trondheim valt nog niet mee, het is weer een lang stuk klimmen in de zon en daarna ben je opeens in het lawaai en de drukte van de grote stad.

Ik heb een hotel in het (toeristische) centrum en mag de fiets in de luggageroom zetten.

Na het wassen van mijn truien is de zeep op, dus ik ga op zoek naar een drogist of ecologische supermarkt. Laten ze dat concept nou helemaal niet kennen?

Nou ja, dan eerst maar eens wat eten.

On our @vikingcruises Into the Midnight Sun Ocean cruise last summer we finished in London and were able to see several historical icons. Of the most recognizable probably is the London Tower Bridge. While touring the Tower of London, where the Crown Jewels are kept, we had a magnificent view of the Bridge. Thankfully I have a zoom lens that allows the Bridge to be brought in closer. There is a magnificent feeling you experience as you gaze upon this structure built between 1886 and 1894 roughly. One of our favorite tours with @vikingcruises on the Into the Midnight Sun Ocean cruise was of the Shetland Islands. It was one of the first choices we made. Shetland ponies are adorable and we both wanted to see them in their original home. History reflects that these magnificent ponies have been in the Islands since the Bronze age at least. Shetland pony's height ranges from approximately 28 inches to 42 inches and have been used for a myriad of purposes over the centuries. They have done everything from pulling carts, to heavy loads of peat and coal from mines. In addition, they performed plowing and other farm chores. Most recently the Shetland ponies have become pets. Our last stop with @vikingcruises on our Into the Midnight Sun cruise was London. We visited the Tower of London and had time leftover to see the Royal Armories Armories museum on the sames plot of land as the Crown Jewels, etc. It was fascinating walking through the facility and visualizing the various armor, weapons including rifles, handguns, swords and knives. There were too many different items to list, but my attention was captured by this creative grouping of weapons. Look closely and you will see the Dragon is made up completely from weapons of war.
