last song: tbh probably still the hazbin hotel soundtrack. the obsession is going strong even whole three months later

last movie: anatomy of a fall. at first i didn't plan to go see it bc i'm not interested in stories about awesome women stuck in psychologically draining marriages to pathetic men but the fomo got to me lol. i did like it a lot, esp how the movie establishes some empathy for the guy while firmly remaining on the mc's side and how the kid is shown as a rational human being capable of analysis and decision making even in the face of emotional upheaval. the lawyer was extremely hot. her too tbh except she also looks like a real life woman. very unhollywood, the both of them😌

currently reading: i've been reading the collector by john fowles but when the book switched to miranda's diary it completely lost me. i understand she has nothing to do but, if you were kidnapped and help captive in a cellar by a sociopathic incel, would you spend your time writing down the detailed story of your situationship with another man? highly implausible and i'm not sure i understand what purpose this section serves in the novel. so i was bored and started the second lady trent book today which pulled me in immediately altho i gotta say i still find this series uncomfortable from a postcolonial lens😬

currently watching: i've been doing a project called "combat anxiety and existential dread by gratifying my completionism by finishing the most random shows i started years ago". just finished castle rock bc that was a show past me had decided to watch for some reason. it was whatever but i got +100 completionism gratification points by marking it as finished on the site where i track my shows. next up: westworld s3&4, atlanta s3&4, mr robot s4, lost in space s2&3 and vikings s6. the last two i'm actually looking forward to bc i remember liking them, the rest are just something to put on while scrolling tumblr🤷‍♀️

Game of Bones: Charlie bringing Sarah coffee is one of my favourite things 😍. Him calling her m'lady when they're working a case about Vikings is cute and it's here we discover Sarah's love for Pumpkin Spice Creamer (changing to vanilla and cinammon by S6). Charlie and Sarah discussing the sword seemingly to forget that Joe and Jesse are also there. Rex wearing the chainmail scarf at the end remains one of the cutest things ever.

"The Impossible Astronaut" thoughts

my biggest recollection of s6 as a whole is that it's a bit of a mess, with multiple important episodes being essentially first drafts bc moffat ran out of time. i am thrilled to announce that the premiere is not one of those stories

we open on amy and rory with amy scouring through history books trying to find reference to the doctor. i think this continues to corroborate my view on amy as a big reader, literary and historically minded. they get an invite in the mail, tardis-blue, with a date and coordinates to southwest america! river gets one too, in jail. "she's doing it again. dr. song. she's... packing." the doctor looks sexy in a stetson and river shoots it off, i love their dynamic

they have a picnic and he tells them that he's running further and harder than ever before, that he's now 1103, and that he hates wine. mood. amy sees a hill person but forgets. an old man rolls up and an astronaut comes out of the lake. the doctor says he knows who it is and it shoots him twice. the old man gives them a can of gasoline, introduces himself, and they have a viking funeral. they need to go to "space" circa 1969 and look up canton everett delaware iii. old canton's actor is played by the father of mark sheppard, who plays young canton, which i really like

they realize younger doctor, 909, also got an invite and just what is up w that? they tell him to go to space 1969 and then debate telling him more. "i'm being extremely clever up here and there's no one standing around looking impressed!" we see young canton, who is ex-fbi. "you were my second choice for president, mr. nixon" now how did fucking doctor who cast such a good nixon when the crown cast the world's worst jfk. the doctor touches down in the oval office "you think you can just shoot me?" "they're americans!!"

amy sees the silence again and starts feeling sick, and bc she is a woman on television, we know what that means. she goes to the bathroom and another silence explodes a woman. this is why the line for the women's restroom is always so long, bitches are exploding in there. why is anyone worried about trans women in the bathroom when there's papa snoke??

anyway nixon keeps getting calls from a girl, the doctor traces it to florida, and they all go. there's a reference to jefferson, adams, hamilton and the doctor said "two of them fancied me" now which two? i assume hamilton had to be one. maybe jefferson? adams seems like too much of a wife guy

river and the doctor have amazing chemistry. "your 'he's hot when he's clever' face" "this is my normal face" "yes, it is" "oh, shut up" "not a chance" he wants her so bad it makes him look stupid. "i'm quite the screamer. now there's a spoiler for you" and he smirks! i love how he's usually put off by flirting and kissing and such and doesn't seem to notice innuendo until it's river and then it's no holds barred. i have never wanted to be someone's third so badly since rhaenys and corlys

so river wants to explore tunnels under the center, the doctor asks rory if he'd mind going with her ("yeah, a bit") which is so funny. what is rory going to do. river monologues about how the first time she met the doctor, he knew everything about her "can you imagine what that does to a girl" and rory looks fucking miserable. i like that that still affects him, that just bc she chose him doesn't make everything else go away. it feels very real. so they maybe get attacked and amy tells the doctor she's pregnant and the astronaut shows up and amy shoots without hesitation BOOM ROLL CREDITS let's go

So dont ask me why, but i decided to rewatch the rest of Vikings after i initially abandoned it bc i was pissed about athelstans death and.... yeah honestly ive been fighting my way through the latter seasons. It was pretty fine up until ragnars death (except for yidu, which. BIG OOF), but after that its literally just dead child, betrayal, making up, another betrayal, miscarriage, Björn cheats on his wife, cool character gets killed off, woman gets killed for loving one of the sons of ragnar aaaand repeat.

Literally the only male character that doesnt such is ubbe? At least up until like half of s6, havent seen the rest yet. And the only good thing about the latter seasons is gunnhild, but from the way this show treats women,,, euugh. Honestly im just hanging on for completionism at this point.

well mostly same old, playing time raiders daily (now primarily on my main acc and ignoring my 3 alts), finished dmc5 in like 3 days, played through bayonetta, just finished dmc4 last week and am in the process of running it through with vergil

currently living on my own, so much stuff i need to do to make my dragon lair more comfy, been spending a lot of hours on digital art too lol

finished rewatching game of thrones the other day, only watched from s6 to halfway s8, ep3
